So this is Let Me Boyd Asleep and today is Q and D Friday. So for those that haven't listened that was awful wasn't it for those that haven't listened to Q&A Friday before basically what it is it's just me answering questions that have been asked. Usually around Monday or Tuesday if I remember I post on my Jason Newland's boring group which is my Facebook group and any questions for this week's Q&A Friday and then I put in brackets the date.

So today's the 14th of November 2025 and I've got five questions this week. So I'd like to say thank you to everyone that has asked a question so thank you Anne has asked two questions two twice two although Hope has also asked two and and yeah so what I'll do I'll just start at the top like I normally do. And start at the top like I normally do.

Just trying to think what's happened. I had a weird experience yesterday so so I mentioned recently that I've started to take Vinnie out sticking just to the pavements because of it being dark outside and I try and get out before it goes dark. It's usually kind of on the cusp of darkness it's definitely sundown has happened sun rest or sun sleep whatever it's called.

But it's not dark but it's darkish so I've got this little light that I clip onto Vinnie's collar and I've got this strap on thing that I put on which has got um well actually I need to charge the strap on up but it's got two lights one at the one at the front one at the back and you can have it pink blue green or white you can also have it flashing but I just um I just have it just normal the one at the back well the one one of them doesn't work at the moment so I need to charge it up so at the moment I just have the white one on so people can see me.

So I'm walking on the pavement and I see nanny treats this is one of Vinnie's favoritest people in the whole world and she's walking her next door neighbor's dog and the dog runs in the road she's got a lead on tangs up tangles her and she falls over pull and basically she trips over and falls in the road I don't know what age she is but I'm guessing 70s yeah I'd probably say 70s and so I was like wow and it's really strange because it's almost like she fell in slow

motion you know I don't mean so I could like get a deck chair and eat some popcorn it wasn't that slow but I kind of like it was too fast to get there and do anything and I was a bit like watching on in disbelief it's weird so my first thing is like is she okay obviously that's my first concern she didn't land on her face or anything like that so there was no because that's I mean sometimes when people fall over it looks worse than it is if they land

on their face it is I mean it's that's not still horrible but they might be physically okay other than that as opposed to having like a broken hip or something she basically was luckily the dog just stayed I had Vinnie I got someone to hold Vinnie because there's someone on the pavement as well and I went over and helped her up now I was her leg was hurting and she was heavy I mean everyone's heavy and they when they're just like a dead weight and I didn't want to yank her

up you know I wanted to be careful because I didn't first of all I didn't want to actually pick her up if she was injured because she had a broken hip or something like that then picking her up was not the right thing to do although at the same time I couldn't leave her in the road because someone could just drive around the corner and they wouldn't see her until it was too late so I would have had to kind of gently dragged her onto the pavement and called an ambulance

and stuff eventually I kind of got her onto her feet and she was okay I was like okay right and she said oh I'll be all right I'll be all right I'm just going to take I said to her take the dog back into your house and rest you don't need to take the dog into the park you can do if it goes in the garden let it go in the garden because she was babysitting the dog for a day and she said no I promise I'll take her for a

walk you just carry on don't worry about me and I thought no no I'm sticking with you so what we did is I walked with her through the park all the way around and then back into her house I took the other dog and she took Vinnie because Vinnie's a lot well he hasn't got much he's strong if he really wants to kind of pull but it's only when he wants to if that makes sense if he's being belligerent but the other dog is just naturally strong anyway without even meaning

to be so I held I had the lead of the other dog it didn't pull me already and Vinnie was so happy that he was on the lead being held by nanny treats and she was walking fine she I mean she may have bruised herself I don't know I've not seen her since but I did I walked past the house and the light was on I kind of wanted to give her a knock to see if she's okay but at the same time I don't want to I don't know what

the right word is I impinge myself is that the right word I kind of I want to leave her alone you know I don't just don't I don't know where that works she's Vinnie's absolutely adores her and I know I had to speak to and I see her like a few times a week so when I see her which I do normally I'll see how she is but then she said don't tell anyone I said what do you mean she said don't tell anyone don't tell the neighbors that I fell

over I said oh I don't like it when that happens when people sort of want to keep secrets I don't want to keep secrets I just if that's one of the things I really that puts me off people these days people that keep secrets I'll tell you this we don't tell anyone it's different if it's a little bit of gossip you know if it's just a little bit of throwaway not important stuff but if it's something it's quite important like the fact that she fell over it could happen again it

may have happened before and I know my nan was the same oh don't tell your dad but I fell over yesterday why are you telling me honestly my nan would tell me stuff like that don't don't tell dad don't tell your dad because she was worried that because when she was living in a house on her own and she did not want to move out in the end she kind of had no choice because of her her legs and stuff she couldn't do the stairs anymore but she she kept there

for as long as she could and she was worried that if her kids found out that she fell over they would take over and move her out into a well which what they did into a sheltered accommodation so she still had her own space her own autonomy but there was someone there during the day that she could sort of get help from you know and they had the cords and all that stuff had one of those things that she had around her neck that she should press if she ever fell

over but she never wore it but that was really weird just the whole situation was weird just seeing her fall over and so glad that she she wasn't hurt so yeah it's just the way it worked i wasn't even going to go that way i nearly went a different way so lucky i did and i got there exactly and also i went out earlier than i normally do so all the different things kind of got me to be there at the right time i'm not i mean someone else would have

been there but you don't know you know the cars drive around especially that time of night all you need is a car without their lights on or just to be going a bit too fast and she's lying in the road you know could be catastrophic so okay all together one two three there's a hero if you look inside your pants so yeah i'm not saying i'm a hero i'm what i am really i know but i don't really mean it that way i just i'm just thankful that she's okay it's

been raining all day all all day i'm talking all day and i managed to go out twice with vinnie and both times i didn't get wet i mean i honestly i got out in a lull it started raining again and i've managed to get home before i got wet and it happened earlier this morning i'd normally take him out three times a day but a day like this he gets two walks and a little trip in the garden if he needs it i've got a delivery grocery delivery today as well

so that's for uber eats um i've got the weekend looking forward to so tonight is big brother eviction night so that's a big occasion and then tomorrow night is chris eubank and connor ben are fighting chris eubank jr they're fighting having a their rematch and then next week huge bill huge bill this is um david benavidez against uh yard there's literally four world four or five world title fights on and it's in saudi arabia and it starts at i think it starts at like four or five in the afternoon so

it's they've put it on time i think it's like 11 o'clock in the morning in america and about four o'clock or five o'clock in the afternoon here which is really good because one of the problems with the american fights is some of the or most of the american fights are on early hours of the morning in the uk and i do struggle to well first of all i don't i can't stay up anymore i can't stay up right all night long until like five o'clock in the morning i mean that's

almost i'm not okay it's not impossible but it's it's not doable anymore the only way i could really be up all night long is if i was up all night long every day all night long all night all night long every day um plus i think now boxing seems to be more popular in this country than it is in america there's a lot of other sports that are way more popular but then there's sports that are more popular in this country than boxing i'm not sure if it's even in the

top five i don't know if it's more popular than rugby in this country i mean and i think the worldwide football is the most popular game and then it's cricket worldwide boxing worldwide probably yeah i can't imagine it's even in the top i don't know how many sports are there i don't know how many sports are there tennis cricket i'm gonna list every single sport i suppose some countries have their that's a trivia tuesday thing isn't it what sports are most popular in each country of the world will i remember

that can someone remind me for trivia tuesday so anyway so tomorrow night boxing sunday night i'm a celebrity get me out of here and um kelly brooks on there i'm a big fan of her voice i like listening to her so i'm gonna probably tune in so i can hear her voice apparently they're doing something different this year so i'm not sure what it would be now big brother they kind of redeemed themselves a little bit yesterday i won't say what happened just in case you've not seen it so if

you watch it you might be watching on catch up so yeah i mean yeah but they they did something quite quite rude or quite unpleasant to the contestants which was it was just a bit shocking not rude horrible but just a bit a little bit cruel you know as far as the game goes but what they have done they did it again they did this whole thing of oh there's going to be two people evicted tonight and then you watch the show and they have a countdown and they say tune

in tomorrow to see who got evicted why have a countdown on the screen behind you if you know it's like ridiculous and then they did the same thing again a few days later two people are going to get evicted i watched the whole show nothing happened i feel like he's he's buying into that bony thing right inside my ear plug that's kind of why it's hard sometimes to make podcasts and it's noisy isn't it i mean it's just i know he's got some fans out there and but oh by the

way i know i mentioned this yesterday i've joined well i was on tiktok but i've kind of started posting each recording i do every day onto tiktok and also instagram but instagram's only shown about 20 10 minutes or something which is a bit rubbish i've got to figure that one out but on tiktok you can listen to the first hour because it has to be under an hour in order to upload the video so it's just a video as in it's just an image with my voice so it's just a

podcast episode for some people that'll be enough to maybe fall asleep you know i don't imagine it takes more than an hour of listening to me to listening to him honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he's i'll come in here one day if i look over he's playing the drums or trumpet i mean he's just anything to make noise i could make some money i could make some money out of that couldn't i the trumpet playing jack russell he looks like a fox he plays like a jazz man a jazz

man jazz jazz jazz jazz oh yeah so tiktok if you are on tiktok maybe search for me i put a link to tick my tiktok account and my instagram account on my website in the index or the navigation or you can just search for my name it'll come up you'll see all the latest images of the you know recordings i've done and i'm thinking once i get because i have to have a hundred followers in order to start making some lives and i'm wondering about maybe doing a live Let Me

um yeah and i'm on all the different podcast hosts so yeah nothing really else has happened it's been raining i'm still watching ozark i'll tell you i'm really into at the moment there's a man called rory sutherland and he's a marketing expert he just it's like he knows everything he's funny he's educational and i just love listening to him he's all over YouTube rory sutherland and he's he just he can talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and when people interview him they hardly get a word

in it's kind of funny because he just goes off on tangents and stuff so i just think he's so good right hope hope it's time for your question what was your favorite christmas decoration as a child that's an easy one um it was the well there's two my favorite christmas decorations one was the uh got someone shouting in the garden i don't know if you can hear that oh yeah the chocolate coins so they had i don't know if it was plastic or kind of metallic covering but inside it was

chocolate i like them a lot so there were decorations because i could eat them the other decorations would be do you do you class presents as decorations see every day can you hear that hear that shouty shouty the only person hear that yeah the only person in the whole area that shouts no one else shouts on this like probably on the whole estate actually 2 000 houses one person she has to live near me i can hear her from the from the um from the park sometimes i can hear her

from the park sometimes mind you luke used to do that he used to shout and what's the name that moved into luke's after uh yeah she moved out yeah she so she moved in after him and then she's moved out since she used to let her dog in the garden and just shout yeah yeah i don't know what she used to but whatever the dog's name was she got through two dogs in a year.

I feel like it's like the co-presenter from the garden.

Mind you if I let Vinnie out into the garden off the lead I'd have to shout as well because he does nothing I tell him. Not a single thing. You know I'm talking about you don't you? Eh Vin? I'm just trying to wait until she stops shouting before I get on with the recording.

If it's really loud and it pricks up like when I do the editing I'll just have to edit all this out. Do you reckon people that shout know that they're shouting? I mean it's partly I mean I do have my window open so I have my windows open all year round when I'm in. I don't leave them open when I come out but I like the air.

Do you remember the times I've said that? I like the air flowing. The air flow don't you know? I like a bit of flowing of air. Honestly if I went through all my transcriptions over the last seven and a half years the amount of times I've probably said that.

You notice I'm getting quieter the louder she's he or she's getting in the garden the quieter I'm getting. I'm still listening. The good thing about this time of year especially when it's raining and it's cold people aren't standing out in the garden and shouting at each other.

I'm literally I realised I said this the other day I realised it's not about hearing. I kind of put it down to maybe having hearing issues which is not something to mock you know I used to I was partly deaf when I was a kid but then it kind of dawned on me it's not hearing issues at all. It's eyesight issues.

So they think the person they're talking to is further away than they are. That's why they're shouting. Oh it's weird isn't it how the concept like you flip it on its head it's like that actually does make sense.

Just reminds you the whole thing all when someone you know someone has a go at someone they say oh don't bite my head off. I just imagine him talking and like accidentally eating the other person just because they're talking so much like Pac-Man you know don't mean to just like can't stop. It's the uncle sausages right did not stop talking did not stop to honestly he when he went into hospital he didn't stop and when he was asleep he still talked.

Now no one knew but they couldn't believe it he still carried on talking even when he was asleep and I kind of felt sorry for the people in his ward.

Well the fact that they were in there to start with but being in there with him because he didn't stop they didn't get any rest like quiet wise it's not always a quiet place anyway with people coming and going and but for the first few weeks he did not stop talking and I wonder do I do that when I'm asleep do I talk and it wasn't you could say it's sleep talking but it was just he'd fall asleep while he was talking and everything went to sleep except his mouth his

brain was asleep but his mouth just carried on just whatever he was talking about because he was never able to get all of his words out ever he was never able to finish a conversation he never finished a conversation I think possibly in his life when he was well I mean there was always more to say and I do kind of get that I get like that sometimes if I'm talking to someone in real life and they say something that piques my interest it occasionally happens and they draw me in

to the conversation so instead of being kind of the other side of the glass kind of do you know those movies where they got prisons and you've you know you got pick up a phone and they put their hand against the glass and stuff like that you know so the so the visitors and the prisoners and stuff I kind of feel a little bit like that sometimes when I'm talking to someone like I'm not quite there with them I'm listening I'm talking but I'm gonna move on you know and occasionally

the glasses comes down and I get sucked into the phone I don't know it kind of it becomes interesting and other than just cordial you know because there's only so much you can do well so much I can do with the weather with rain today it's been cold or can't even really talk about TV anymore cuz I don't watch it really there was a time when talking about Eastenders was a natural thing or Coronation Street or some big thing that's just happened on the news or whatever I don't have any

of those conversations anymore I'm not completely behind when it comes to news I do watch the news every day just to keep myself up-to-date but I couldn't tell you the intricacies of what's going on or all the names of those people involved and also the news channels they seem to get stuck on one particular news item and they they just get everything they can out of it they ring it out and keep ringing it so they can get every little bit of juice and whatever out of the cloth and then

they put it through a mangle to get a little bit more mangle remember mrs. mangle from neighbors in the 80s mrs. mangle she was kind of like Doc Cotton a little bit like any senders like a grumpy old woman but when she was well I mean mrs. mangle she was she was more like the Wicked Witch of the West mrs. mangle Harold Bishop oh my goodness why am I thinking about neighbors characters Harold Bishop I can't remember any different names Bishop I've never known anyone called Harold never but now I

mean normally I think people call themselves Harry don't know if it's Harold I think I'm Clint Eastwood it wasn't it shouldn't been Dirty Harry it should have been Dirty Harold don't know how popular that title would have been Dirty Harold hmm Harold Callaghan why am I remembering his surname in those movies when I didn't even really watch them I do remember what's his name from Starsky and Hutch was in one of those movies the blonde one I really like the song he did I listened to it again recently he was

a he was a proper heartthrob when he in the old 70s and 80s had a really nice singing voice as well do-do-do-do-do baby do-do-do-do-do-do do-do-do-do-do-do sorry I don't know I think that's how it goes take a chance on us baby I think we're fine right and I should get on with the with the questions Hope asks me I've already started haven't I what's your favorite decoration as a child I like the tree I mean technically a tree is something that you put decorations on I like looking at decorations don't think

I particularly enjoy putting decorations up definitely not taking them down so I put I had decorations I think the very first year I lived here and I did a live I think it's a live video or I did a YouTube video with Andre and I had loads of things that I wrapped up toys and treats for him and stuff for me and yeah I suppose Christmas trees I do like a Christmas tree I think it's all nice I mean I'm not I'm not a Christmassy person so much I do like

the build-up and I really do like Christmas decorations I genuinely do and it reminds me of suppose happier times I suppose like when I was a kid Christmas wise I mean that was the only time of the year that was that was that was the best day of the year was Christmas Day or Christmas Eve Christmas Day boxing day they will the whole little period was nice and I think that my my dad would have the week off work so he he was more relaxed as well so yeah I think

Christmas was a nice a nice time not really what within myself celebrate Christmas not really since 2000 no 2000 1985 Christmas 1985 and I don't remember it I really don't remember it I'm not even sure who was in the house I think in 1985 I think it was only me and my little brother was living there I might be wrong but it was yeah so I was 15 just turned well turn 15 end of August so December I was coming up to the end of my schooling as well so the

following March or April March time that was the end of my school I was 15 when I left school so it was kind of everything was coming to an end I didn't want everything you know sounds dramatic isn't it but I didn't realize that and more more was coming to an end than I realized and you know so I don't I remember a fair bit of what happened in 1986 but at the end of 85 not so much but previous to that Christmases were really good really good you know so

yeah so decorations wise which is what you asked I do apologize it's almost like I keep forgetting what the question is decorations probably all of them so if I look at so I think of decorations really of other people's houses so if I'm walking around with the vinsta and you know Christmas trees are flashing and the tinsel around the Christmas tree and then the tinsel around the walls and snow maybe snow kind of painted onto or sprayed onto different places and I remember when I was a kid we used to

have Christmas cards on a massive bit of string from one side of the wall to the other like in on the edge and then would there be like all these different cards there'd be so many cards and they'd be all over the place but I mean this next bit I'm about to feel sorry for myself just a bit of a warning I don't really get much in the way of Christmas cards anymore I haven't done for a long time so like my dad maybe my brother maybe my stepsister and stepbrother

so I might get four four Christmas cards that's pretty much it although I did get one from a neighbor downstairs about a month ago six weeks ago which was it was unusual I said thanks so yeah I would I definitely couldn't I suppose I could do a little card on some string and maybe just hang it above one of the doors maybe so yeah Christmas is not uh it's not Christmassy for me and I'm not anti Christmas at all I think Christmas is great I just I suppose there's benefits of

living on my own there's also a flip side as well so part of the non benefits of living on my own is I don't get a Christmas I don't and also like not having had a family like haven't had my own family so I'm not getting birthday Christmas presents from my children or my grandchildren which I could have now I suppose and other extended family and all that stuff so yeah I mean it's I'm not gonna take it as like my fault because these things don't always happen today can't can't

force love love happens or it doesn't happen don't give up on this baby there's a lot of benefits of living on my own I can watch what I want on telly I can sleep whatever side of the bed I want actually that's not true I'm stuck on one side because Vinnie rules this place he's got his side honestly he doesn't sleep on my side he knows he chose his side he chose his pillow and he does not go on my side at least I don't think he does even when I'm

not in there he stays on his side although he does stretch to the middle a little bit to the middle of the bed but generally his side yeah I don't have to hmm anyway what about now so that was a decorations a child what about now no I don't really yeah it's not something I really get involved in anymore not really not in any kind of a way I mean tinsel and all that stuff although I did decorate the Christmas there's we've got a Christmas tree out the front and Luke

planted it about eight nine years ago eight years ago and it was just a sapling and now it's nearly as tall as the building I decorated it once we actually properly decorated it once when he was here this was when it was probably about seven seven foot eight foot we did the kind of put some lights on there powered them from my flat and then we had some tinsel and stuff on the hedge and then last year I tried to decorate it and tried to get some of the neighbors to

sort of put some stuff on there kind of as a remembrance to Luke in a way I mean the December after like the previous December's too soon because I lost Luke on the 24th of November so was only it was yeah December was like literally you know a month but the the next year which was last year I thought well it'd be quite nice considering that's his tree he planted it let's do something you know let's do make it nice but no one person put a trinket on there and that

was it I bought lights I bought tinsel I bought all this kind of stuff and it just looked rubbish didn't look good needed a ladder needed needed a bit of help to sort of do it really don't give up on us baby so yeah right so what else you've got do you decorate a lot now no no I'm thinking of having a shower before Christmas but other than that I thought I'd just maybe make the flat a little less smelly or wash my toes wash in between my toes that's awful

isn't it Vinnie hasn't eaten his dinner all day he's just gone over to sniff it I don't know what his problem is I'll order some dog food yeah I don't I mean I haven't the last time I was at my dad's for Christmas would have been 2014 Christmas because after that I've had well I had Andre and now I've got Vinnie so I've not yeah I've not been to my dad's on Christmas Day for 11 years I think what it is is all down to my moods like how I feel

is not dependent necessarily upon what's going on outside of me so I could have people all celebrate and having fun and I could be a moody old man moody moody old man and yeah it doesn't make any sense but that's so it's it's weird I realized that when I went on holiday few years back like and it's an old saying isn't it wherever you go there you are and it's true I did I really thought that getting away from here would change how I felt almost like it's gonna change my

personality give me a personality maybe I don't know and it didn't it I was still me it's weird I so wanted it to I mean I'm sure I was different in some ways because I was away from here and it was so nice to not have all the dramas that was going on but at that time but at the same time I remember walking through the streets I was getting soaking wet and it was hot so the wet clothes weren't affecting me making me a little bit heavier but other than

that and it's just but I was getting what did I have shorts probably shorts and a t-shirt that was it and the streets were flooding to be fair I was like up to my ankles in water the but it wasn't cold and it wasn't a long walk 10 minutes maybe I was so grumpy and the weird thing you want to go back to the hotel I got my clothes off and got changed I had a shower probably got changed and everything was fine but I was still grumpy but if that

happened here I'd come home get changed I'd sit down maybe watching TV maybe you know have a cuddle with Viddy and I'd be okay quicker that's strange what's that got to do with Christmas I don't know is there something in particular that makes you feel like Christmas is here the Christmas songs I think I love the Christmas songs that's the thing I'm not a Grinch I do love Christmas but it's kind of like I love the ocean but I can't swim okay I love to see but I can't swim I

love Christmas but I can't celebrate it if that no I can't but there was no one to celebrate it with and which is okay I kind of made those choices in my life to end up here and again I'm not really feeling sorry for myself I'm just when I get to Christmas I just look forward to it being over and I can just move on because I do really enjoy the new year new year new opportunities kind of New Year's Eve is one of my favorite times I don't even know

why really oh you know I've got treats in my pocket oh you wouldn't that do you okay I'll talk to Vinnie by the way but I do I love the Christmas songs I love the Christmas TV shows even TV stuff that because I don't really watch much TV but at Christmas I'll watch things I don't normally watch so even if I don't watch EastEnders all year all year long I always watch the Christmas edition of EastEnders I generally watch the Coronation Street Christmas edition and what other things are on at

Christmas I like some of the stuff like the old the sitcoms that maybe not on anymore but they had their Christmas specials like Vicar of Dibley and Only Fools and Horses sometimes they'd rerun their Christmas specials or even like really old shows from the late 70s early 80s like Morecambe and Wise or and The Two Ronnies you know stuff like or oh blimey some of us do have them Christmas specials from the 70s the middle 70s so I do I think I think I'd be quite a good Christmas person if

I had if I'd had a family I think I would have been quite good at um I'd been quite merry quite a Christmassy person I think but at the same time I have to be real so um however I'm feeling is how I'm feeling and I don't pretend I'm feeling something I'm not so it's how I know just you know if everyone else is celebrating there's that kind of almost a requirement to celebrate with them and I it's almost impossible for me to do but at the same time if everyone's

mourning or afternoon or evening if everyone's I struggle with that as well so now I've rolled up to places when I shouldn't have been in a good mood and I was and I had nothing to do what was going on I was just in a good mood I just strange you've how about eating your dinner there are loads of treats on the floor over there why don't you have them this place is an absolute mess it's a mess I've had the amount of times I've heard say it with your full

chest say it with chest I've heard that quite a bit recently say it with chest I do wonder how many things did I say when I left school that was annoying to older people apart from everything I guess but as far as sayings go the only thing I ever said really when I was like a teenager is all right mate and I still do that I still say why mate yeah mate why why I said I do that I've always done that but what I used to do and sometimes people

used to have a go at me for it generally older people who were trying to I suppose attempting to intimidate me but never quite worked but I went through a phase where I'd say you know what I mean it was every other every other sentence you know I mean sometimes I even say it after saying you know what I mean you know I mean you know I mean so that was genuine that last one so and that was mainly because of Frank Bruno and what a hero he was to a

five one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen sixteen days left of the month so pretty much tomorrow is the halfway mark isn't it the 15th the Saturday and then two weeks and one day and then it's Christmas two weeks later well three weeks later and a bit I'm not sure what really makes me feel Christmassy probably seeing the houses decorated hearing I mean there's Christmas adverts although there's a really the first time so I'm not a big advert fan to be honest

I'm really not and with the Christmas adverts this this is like they start them quite early and it's a lot it's kind of more of the same but Tesco they have an advert which was actually funny made me laugh now adverts generally do not make me laugh and I don't know if you've seen it they might have a version in different countries as well I don't know if Tesco's is a thing in other countries it's focusing on it's it's kind of not just focusing on all the good parts of Christmas

and there's one I think it's near the beginning and the lady walks into the dining area of like the house I'm guessing she's the the person hosting the hosting that you know the Christmas dinner and the whole family's around the table probably a husband and whatever loads of people the kids grandkids and she walks in everyone's frowning and she says what happened what's happened I only went to change me no anyway I went to the toilet she said what's happened and the old old man said it's probably her dad or

everyone else's granddad or whatever he says oh I had an opinion this made me laugh just I don't know just the whole idea of and I don't know if I have to explain it it's not funny is it that is maybe it just made me laugh because it made me think of my dad and how he keeps his opinions to himself now as do I I suppose as well you know if I'm in a sort of social situation because that's one thing we don't never really had is arguments at the

dinner table especially at Christmas teasing but not arguments I mean dinner time you know in the 90s sometimes would be conversations that were a little bit a little bit too political or a little bit too you know clashy but that doesn't seem to happen anymore I'm not really around there so I don't get to see it but just just the idea of someone in their 70s or 80s or whatever coming out with something that might actually not be politically correct to today's generation whoever today's generation is and I'm sure I'd

I'd be the same I'm just thinking if I went into the Big Brother house how often would I get pulled up for saying the wrong thing because they kicked how many people did they kicked at least one person out this route this this series for saying the wrong things I mean admittedly he did come out with some stuff that was just it was just stuff that is almost boring but cliched it I guess and I feel they were talking about boats coming into the country and it was just like the

did last snow on Christmas day UK so I'm not the first person to ask that question today 2010 the last widespread snowfall on Christmas day in the UK was 2010 which is remembered for heavy snowfalls and record low temperatures I did not see snow it didn't snow Christmas day where I was there has been snow on the ground I'm pretty sure Christmas day I think 2007 possibly 2000 maybe 2010 we did get a lot of snow those 7 8 9 10 11 there's quite a bit of snow I remember it's

time when it was snowing just non-stop I think it was 2012 maybe it was 2013 you know what I wonder I wonder if I've still got any of their emails no call centre all folders call centre nice let's put a T in maybe that'll work call centre last call for your Halloween haul no and sales job the thing is I go through stages where I just delete everything I don't know hard to believe but so anything from back then is gone unless I just put in the date 2012 2012 nothing

2013 no I've had this email since I can't even tell you how long about 25 years it's ridiculous isn't it 25 years oh my goodness this is great you know I was just talking about Tesco's and I was just talking about when I started that job I was literally thinking about the Tesco that I used to go into which was just across the road from where I lived I've just seen breaking news was eight hours ago so it's not that breaking is it and but it was at the time in

the local paper on online the Tesco shop evacuated as car crashes into wall that's the side wow because it's the side of the shop not the front because I used to go there every day even when I didn't live near that I used to go there because I used to go through town get stuff from there then head back home or Sainsbury's depends where the buses were sometimes because with college I could walk up there's different ways I could go so depends where I was going from I guess 8 40

this morning I hope everyone's all right some of these stories are just really weird man I keep seeing adverts for eye cowhide durable and long-lasting and look like bags but the images are really not nice they look just like to me it looks like something's been found on the floor in fact I can't even see really from the pictures that they're bags I can just it looks like maybe they're handbags I think they look awful well I mean from what I can see I just I don't think the pictures are

very good I'm sure they look lovely in person um I'll see if this looks like okay no right let's move back I was just like it just came up on my email yeah I should go in there all the time it's a bit weird isn't it you know when someone says when someone happens so I was only in there last night I was only in there two hours ago I'm sort of saying I was only in there for 12 years ago does it usually snow a lot of Christmas right we

have little periods like it hasn't snowed it it snowed last year but it was gone before I woke up apparently or um gone before I went out so I think it was snow on the ground early in the morning so people were going to work or whatever and when by the time I left the house at 10 there was no snow on the ground apparently it was quite thick on the cars and everything so I guess it rained and it just rained it all away the last time I remember it

snowing really quite thick was the week that I got a vinny which would be three years ago that's the last time I remember any kind of real amount of snow three years ago and we're supposed to have some this year or next week and it was really thick really settled so I have my boots on and everything like that and it lasted I mean the snow was there for about four five days and midweek I think Wednesday maybe Thursday it just all melted in one day it rained and it all

went and that's the night when I I slipped down the stairs and fractured my back so I kind of always going to remember that week and how even near the end of the snow when it was turned into ice I still managed to not slip over and I felt so pleased with myself that I didn't slip and then yeah luckily I had my coat on because if I hadn't had my coat on oh and it was thick padded coat and yeah it could have been a different different scenario because I

basically bumped down those steps like a slinky so different parts I'm not sure about up north maybe I can get some answers to this perhaps a post on the group whether or not you get a lot of snow where you are but I live in the south like south east I think southwest the whole kind of south part of the country doesn't really get a huge amount of snow I mean sometimes the whole country gets snow but Wales and Scotland because they've got mountains and stuff like that they've got higher

higher ground it's I think this that's like get more snow and it could be a lot colder than it is in the England in the England although it's a lot colder if you live on the coast well it feels a lot colder yeah I don't know about other parts of the country really I've been to Wales when it was snowing once and that was in I think March February March I couldn't believe like the amount of snow it was thicker than I'd ever seen before it's pretty much up to my

yeah I don't know how to explain it really but probably it's better to watch at a cinema than what on tv in in a sense because because of the effects and you know the the ambience and that I suppose I went on my own I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema with another person it's definitely been a while I took my friend's daughter to see superman superman superman returns in 2000 whatever year that was 2002 2006 really 2006 so I took my like my goddaughter took her

to see superman returns 2006 I don't know why I thought it's 2002 it's still a long time ago though isn't it since then genuinely can't think of a time since 2006 oh yeah I remember one 2002 in fact I went to the cinema with my friend when I lived when I lived in the buddhist community so that was that was also 2006 so 2006 2007 maybe part of 2005 as well during that period I went to the cinema three times yeah one's Ratatouille the other one was Walk the Line which

is about Johnny Cash so that was with them we went like as a group and then I went to a different place and watched oh I think it was a Woody Allen movie I think hmm but since then I'm just now remembering all the times I went to the cinema there was a time that I would always go and watch the latest superhero movie at the cinema and this is long before the whole marvel thing so I'm talking spider-man spider-man 2 spider-man 3 and the original well the fantastic four from

the early 2000s the x-men movies I went and saw one batman movie in 2005 on a date it's the first first of the trilogy you know the ones with um what's his name it had Liam Neeson in it as well just trying to remember I saw the original batman movie not the tv not the one with the original batman but the one with the original Jack Nicholson in 1989 went and saw that other girlfriend had some popcorn what other movies have I been I remember I went to a movie once

with it was a first date and yeah it was in the front row we might meet the front anyway maybe not on the front but near the front and I put my hand on her knee and she removed it and I realized she was sitting the other side of me no I just really did it was like I thought okay and that was it that was the end of any communication so I was like I don't know I was what I was probably a 17 18 at the time I didn't

really know what I was doing I think it was a knee maybe it was her elbow so and if I think of any other times I was I asked a girl I was working with out worked in a chip shop with her worked with her there and she eventually agreed to come out with me to the cinema and I'm in the queue she was I think she was working or she went and got ready so I I lived across the road from the cinema so I'm in the queue holding our

space and I see her walking towards the cinema so this is someone that I'd waited over a year and a half I'd liked and eventually she said yes that she'd come out with me now you know I'm pretty much 100% certain that she it was probably just out of pity but anyway she was she was heading her way to the cinema and I thought it'd be a good idea to hide so I went and hid in the alleyway around the corner and I felt very proud of myself and thought that

oh I'm such a joker and she'll she'll find it funny and of course fall in love with me and we'll get married and stuff and then when I jumped out to say boo the line has gone and I went into the cinema I said I was already started and the bloke said no it's finished everyone's left like oh lost track of time again so yeah and I think she spoke to me again after that trying to think of what other movies I remember going to see Spider-Man like the original Spider-Man

back in 1978 I think and if I'm correct the other movie because I used to have a matinee as well like a movie before was Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger I loved those Sinbad movies when I was a kid and I also went to see Superman 2 with my brother my oldest brother took me there and I was dreaming of that movie dreaming of going to see it because it was probably the movie I was most excited about going to see so it was cool of him to take

me I'm not sure if I went to see Superman the first one in the cinema can't remember really can't as a family I don't remember it's only one movie that I remember us like as when I was a kid as a family going to see and that was E.T. it was almost like a law was passed around the western world is you must go and see E.T. and we did and I don't really remember ever having gone to the cinema as a family before or since we've watched plenty of movies

together but not like you know in the cinema just it doesn't mean it didn't happen I just don't remember it happening any other time I mean it's really hard to explain in today's world because you know some movies are popular but because of all the streaming and all the you know it's different movies don't have the same it's not that they're not as good or anything like that there's some people would say oh hasn't been a decent movie since 1963 shut up it's it's just different there's more places you can

watch stuff so I think like one movie doesn't get the same attentions that they used to do it used to do like in the 80s and 90s which means it's really really difficult to try and even explain to those that weren't around then just how big E.T. was it it was the biggest movie of all time at the time it was like I don't know but then you got another movie like Titanic such a huge movie Gladiator what's that one Avatar Avatar that was more like 2000s wasn't it to 2010s

I lose track that was one of the last real really huge movies that I can remember ones I know the Marvel ones have been huge as well but as far as something that stands out on its own E.T. nothing came close to it at the time just in the same way as Michael Jackson's Thriller album it was so big but you know Michael it's Michael Jackson this Michael Jackson that he was he was everywhere honestly I had to check under my bed in case he was there that's before you know

far before I realized that he's a very safe person to be around but you know just he was everywhere I love Michael Jackson Michael Jackson I wanted to be him I want to be okay I wanted to be able to sing like him the dancing never been a big fan of dancing I like watching I wasn't really I didn't particularly like watching Michael Jackson dance but I liked watching Sabrina dance I guess um I think she was Brazilian she Brazilian I guess it's she's got Brazilian dance Michael Jackson was more

pop hers was Brazilian and it's just more enjoyable to watch I get different styles of dancing Maria asks so that's why I've done that what film you saw so yeah that's I've gone back a little way there haven't I but yeah 2015 I can't even remember what it's like to go to the cinema it just seemed a long time ago Anne asks have you ever had a snowball fight yes and I didn't like it I really didn't I I don't think I'm afraid I don't think I've I'm not much of

a team player I guess I don't because you know I had two older brothers so things could get quite rough sometimes and I was tiny you know they were much my brother even the one that was only two years older than me was a lot bigger than me a lot stronger than me and then my other brother was four years older than me which is a big difference when you're like eight or ten so I I couldn't compete with them in any kind of physical way um because they were just

so much younger larger than I was I mean my oldest brother was like six foot four six foot five my other brother was like six six one and I'm five two I'm four foot three um five I wish I was four foot three I'd love to be really short I don't know why I just think it's like Ronnie Corbett's size that's another hero of mine Ronnie Corbett I don't know I think it's just cute something about being extra small that I don't know just I am short but I'm not I'm

five eight so I'm not I'm definitely not tall for a man I'm below average height for a male but I'm not like hugely short never really had an issue of being with my height I mean if anything I'd like yeah I'd like to be six foot six I mean just to see what it's like but at the same time I think I'd also like to be you know four foot six I think that'd be more fun in some ways at my age maybe being six foot six would be more fun

when I was a teenager when I was at school that would have been a lot you know give me a much more of an advantage in my teen years and my 20s oops yeah so being a lot taller would have definitely come in handy back then but now yeah it'd be funny to be like really really short not funny for me I mean just yeah yeah I mean I have felt tall when I went to Thailand I was tall I was way taller than the average person there was people taller

than me there but not many and I didn't do a survey but I was head and shoulders above nearly everybody that I met which is nice it just it was nice it was just it was quite nice because I've never had that experience before just to feel tall and when I was wearing my high heels wow honestly I could see over everyone's heads and when I was on stilts and that is the end of the recording la la la so yeah I hope I've answered the questions I don't I'm not
