Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason, this is your daily relaxation hypnosis for stress, anxiety and panic attacks. I'm recording this in the afternoon ready for tomorrow morning which is when you'll see it. I'm very aware of the sounds in the background, the birds in the trees.
So what I thought I would do is start this session just by being aware. Once you've got yourself into a comfortable position, lying down on a comfortable bed on a flat surface or sitting in a comfortable chair, one that will support your body throughout this session. And we're going to focus on background sounds, closing your eyes if it's safe for you to do so.
And of course I don't know what sounds that you have in the background, but I'm going to focus on those sounds that maybe you can hear in my background. At the moment the most prominent thing that I can hear is the pigeon in the distance, the birds singing. You can hear sounds from neighbours, just distant sounds.
You can hear talking and conversations but not actually being able to hear the words, but just the sounds. And that's one of the good things about mindfulness, is it gives you an opportunity to actually hear what's there without adding any kind of emotion to it. Without giving that sound an emotive word like noise, instead just allowing it to remain, just a sound.
And just the sound can't really have the power to disturb you. It just comes and goes, just like the breath in our body, come in and go in. And I can actually hear, of course, my own voice, my own voice, hearing how I sound.
Maybe the odd croak in my voice, because the sound of a voice isn't just one continuous sound, it's actually lots of different noises that break. In the same way that the air, it's just full of tiny molecules. So when I hear the background sounds on a day like this, maybe hearing the neighbour, maybe watching football, soccer, maybe hearing the school children, hearing the birds in the trees, maybe it could be the weather, maybe it's windy, maybe it's raining, you can hear the rain against the glass of your windows.
Maybe you can just notice your own breathing, noticing how that feels, the breathing in your body, noticing the sound of that breath. And it sounds different maybe when you're breathing in to how it sounds when you're breathing out. And there's a difference of the sound of the breathing.
Also, once it enters your body, you can still maybe hear it, or at least feel that vibration. And then it turns from sound to a feeling. And that's the thing about sound, it is a vibration, and vibrations can be felt.
And ultimately, that's what sound is doing to your ears, your eardrums, they're reacting to a vibration, they're reacting to a feeling, which then gives you that sound. And that sound has a feeling. And as you're breathing, you can notice that feeling in your body.
As the air goes into your mouth or through your nose, all the way down your neck and into your lungs, you feel your chest raising. You can feel your lungs filling with air. You can also feel your stomach rising naturally, and maybe your shoulders as well.
In a sense, just the act of breathing can stretch the muscles in your body, in your back, in your shoulders, and in your chest, in your stomach, in your neck, maybe in your jaw, in your face, in your throat. All those muscles being used, being stretched, being exercised. So in a sense, you've got this regular fitness procedure continuously going on over and over.
Every time you breathe, you're using your body in a productive and healthy way. And as you feel that sensation of that breath, and you feel the sensation of those muscles in your shoulders, in your chest, in your stomach, maybe in your throat, there's something about noticing those parts of your body that then allow you to get more in touch. Because you can also feel the back of your back, your upper back, where your lungs are, and you can feel how those muscles are stretched out when you breathe.
And of course, those muscles affect the middle of your back, which then affects your lower back. So this procedure of just breathing in and out naturally is also a way for you to get in touch with those different parts of your body that maybe you hadn't connected together before with breathing easily and naturally, allowing you to really experience being aware of how you feel. And just then as I was breathing in, I noticed the sensation of my tongue.
Because when I breathe in my mouth, I can feel the cold air on my tongue and in my mouth, on my lips. And when I breathe in through my nose, I can feel that same cold air just on the outside of my nose, my nostrils, and just gently cooling inside my nose as the air goes down through my throat into my lungs, down the windpipe.
And as I noticed that air, that cold, cool air that was in my mouth and on my tongue, and the cool air that was brushing against my lips and my nose, I noticed that same cool air on my eyelids, noticing a sense of comfort that comes over my eyelids, my eyes.
Although my eyes don't feel as if they're stuck closed, at the same time, I don't feel like I'm asleep, but I feel so comfortable. My eyes feel so loose, completely and totally relaxed, naturally, without any effort or without even attempting for my eyes to feel relaxed. They just naturally are relaxed and cool.
And I just noticed, as I'm talking to you, I notice my jaw and that coolness spreading over my jaw and into the sides of my cheeks, into the jaw there. I'm basically just sinking deep into the jawbone. And my jaw just feels so relaxed, calm, effortlessly, not trying to be relaxed or calm.
That's just how it is. It just seems to have naturally happened to be that way, to feel relaxed. And that same cool air is now just brushing against my forehead.
I can feel that sensation in my forehead. And it's as if it, I know it's there, I know I've got a forehead and I know that there's skin covering it, but at the same time, it's just vague. It's just as if it's transparent, so cool and so calm.
It's as if there's no muscles to relax. It's just there. And as I just mentioned that, the idea of maybe my forehead feeling transparent, I kind of visualized my whole face somehow being see-through, as if all the muscles have just disappeared.
And all the bones just disappeared. And all that's left in my face is just the outline. And although I can see my face in my mind, and I know it's there, of course, it just feels so cool and calm.
Just as I said that, my focus became really strong on my actual scalp and my brain. I just noticed that coolness has also caused my brain to be transparent as well. My mind just feels so loose, just feels so calm.
Really, really, so loose, so transparent, as if I could see through my head, knowing that everything, every part of my face, my head, my ears, my eyes, my scalp, my brain, my mouth, everything's just so relaxed. I just noticed the back of my neck as that cool, calm, transparent feeling spreads down my neck, all the way down my back. It's as if I can just see this big gap, this transparent hole all the way down my back.
No muscles. There's nothing but just coolness and relaxation all the way down, including my lower back. When I focused on my lower back just then, it's as if my lower back just gave a sigh of relief.
It felt like my lower back stretched, just stretched to how it's supposed to feel. It's like it was yawning and just saying, oh, that's my lower back really, oh, it feels so comfortable. This is really nice.
It's not just comfort and relaxation and cool, it's also pleasurable. Pleasurable. That sense for me more than anywhere else in my lower back moving down, there's that sense of pleasure, just as the whole of my hips just really feel loose and seem to be stretching.
There's that calmness, cool feeling of relaxation and feeling transparent through my buttocks, my groin and my hips, just completely making that area totally transparent. It feels so nice being able to just look through that area and know that there's no muscles to feel, there's no anything to feel, but just being, just noticing, just allowing yourself to feel relaxed and calm. Feeling that same feeling happening in my front, I feel it down my throat, my chest and my stomach becoming transparent.
This time it seems to be happening so much quicker, that cool feeling of deep relaxation. As my body, the whole of my upper body is completely transparent, which means my shoulders, all the way down my hands, my fingers and of course my arms, all the way down. I feel cool and relaxed as that feeling of relaxation spreads and covers my shoulders, arms and hands and fingers with that relaxing feeling of being transparent.
Being able to see through my arms and hands, all those muscles just vanishing. There's a focus just on my fingers and how my fingers feel, just so loose and there's an unusual feeling of pleasure from my hands, the palms of my hands, generating some kind of pleasure that I don't really recognize. It's a real sense of natural energy being transmitted from my palms of my hands.
It's just a lovely feeling, a calm, serene, loose feeling. It's an overall feeling of acceptance but it really does feel so calm. My attention now goes to the remainder of what's left of me to feel relaxed and calm and transparent.
My thighs, my knees and my legs and of course my ankles, feet and toes, that whole area just naturally becomes transparent and deeply relaxed so easily. That part was even quicker than the others, it just becomes so naturally, deeply relaxed. It's a real sense of connection between my hands and my feet, the same feeling coming from the bottoms of my feet that I have in my palms of my hands.
Feelings of comfort, feelings of serenity and I have that feeling in the top of my head now, this feeling's it's a different type of feeling. It kind of feels like a feeling of completeness, a feeling of wholeness, the feeling of my mind and my body and every part of my body all being at peace, completely relaxed, completely loose, really, really calm. It's a really, really nice feeling of just being here, just accepting myself, not needing to be anything or anyone, just feeling that love, that universal love that we all have inside us, that energy that connects all of us.
And there's a real, real sense of gratitude for having the opportunity to be able to get in touch, for being able to relax so very deeply in my body and relaxed in my mind, knowing that you can have this feeling every time you watch my videos or listen to my voice, you'll naturally feel just as relaxed as you do right now and even when you're not listening to my voice in your day-to-day life, you'll keep this feeling of calmness and relaxation in your body and in your mind always there with you to allow you to experience calmness when you need it, to allow you to feel pleasure and deep relaxation.
Now, I'm going to count from one to three, and when I get to three you can open your eyes if you choose to do so. One, two, you'll keep this feeling with you, you'll feel amazing, relaxed, calm.
Every time you hear my voice or see my videos, you'll feel so wonderful deep inside your mind and your body.
