Hello and welcome to Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily. My name is Jason Newland. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
I'd like you to get yourself comfortable sitting in a chair that supports your body or maybe lying down on your bed, making sure you have loose clothing on. So if you've been surfing, maybe you need to take your wetsuit off because they're quite tight, aren't they? So I'm not going to ask you to close your eyes unless you want to. But I'm going to ask you to open and close your eyes.
Of course you can just ignore me and close your eyes and listen. But this might, you may find, help you to relax more deeply, more easily, maybe quicker than normal. And I'll be honest with you, I generally follow along when I do recordings.
I do exactly what I say to do. And I just realized, as I said, you know, you can keep your eyes closed if you want or follow me and, you know, do open your eyes and close them. And I personally would prefer just to close my eyes because just talking and listening to myself talking feels quite relaxing.
It might just be that I've got a very boring voice. It might be the time of the day that I'm making a recording. It's not late, but it's about eight in the evening.
But I think I could quite easily fall asleep if I was listening to a recording. In fact, I'm pretty certain if I was listening to anything, whether it be a book, music, even the television, if I had my eyes closed, I would fall asleep. So, I understand if you don't want to open and close your eyes, maybe you can imagine opening and closing your eyes.
Perhaps for you, that may be a useful way to interpret interpret what I'm saying and perhaps still have, through imagination, an effect of comfort and relaxation on your nervous system. Through imagining opening and closing your eyes causes that same signal to travel down your spine into your body, sending those signals to all the parts of your body, relaxing you deeply. So, I guess that's possible.
So, I'm going to ask you to open your eyes or imagine opening your eyes. And just count in down for five, down to one, five, four, three, two, one, and close your eyes. Five, four, three, two, one, open your eyes again.
Five, four, three, two, one, and close your eyes. Five, four, three, two, one, and with your eyes still closed, which feels more relaxing? And I realize it's probably a particularly silly question to ask. I just noticed the difference when you open your eyes again, even though you probably don't want to.
But when you open your eyes again, when you force your eyes open, notice how different you feel to how you feel with your eyes closed. So, open your eyes now, counting down, noticing how you feel. Five, four, three, two, one, close your eyes.
So, notice how your eyes feel when they're closed compared to when they're open. Five, four, three, two, one. So, out of a scale of one to ten, ten being like the biggest yes ever, and one being no.
How much do you want to open your eyes right now? Is it a one, like a real no, or is it a ten, like yeah, please, I'd love to open my eyes. Just notice your scale, and maybe as you, you might think maybe it's a three, and it starts to drip down to two, maybe down to one. Now, also notice the level of comfort in your muscles, in your back, as you open your eyes.
Five, four, three, two, one, focusing on your back, and now close your eyes. Five, four, three, two, one, noticing how your back feels. Focus on your shoulders and your arms, and now close your eyes.
Five, four, three, two, one, close your eyes. Focusing on your shoulders, how do your shoulders and arms feel now? Five, four, three, two, one. Now, we will focus on your hands and fingers.
When you open your eyes again, you can just notice how your hands and fingers feel, and then when you close your eyes, notice how your hands and fingers feel more relaxed. So, open your eyes. Five, four, three, two, one, close your eyes.
Focusing on your hands and fingers. Five, four, three, two, one, just noticing how your stomach feels. That whole area from your diaphragm all the way down to your hips, your sternum, being aware of the whole area above and below your belly button.
Even your sides, and as we breathe, you can feel the muscles in your stomach stretching gently. As you open your eyes, you can focus on your stomach area. Of course, when we close your eyes, you can really be aware of how that area feels more relaxed.
Now, open your eyes again. Five, four, three, two, one, and close your eyes. Five, four, three, two, one, your stomach area.
Maybe it feels looser, and whatever sense of comfort and relaxation you feel in your stomach area will continue to relax. The whole of your back, the top, middle, and lower back, just being aware of it. Noticing it, focusing.
It moves every time you breathe, and it can relax every time you breathe. If you choose to open your eyes again, you can just focus on your back, just getting a sense of how your back feels, from the back of your neck all the way down into your lower back. So with your eyes open now, five, four, three, two, one, and close your eyes.
Five, four, three, two, one, just noticing the feeling in your back, from the back of your neck, moving not just down your spine, but all the muscles either side of your spine, moving out all the way, and all the way down a big area of muscles. I'm going to count one more time, because of how big the muscles are. Counting one more time to give it double, double relaxation in your back.
Now, five, four, three, two, one. Noticing how your body feels, your stomach, your back, shoulders, arms, hands, fingers, focusing now on your legs, your thighs, all the way down to your ankles, your thighs all the way down, and you can incorporate the feeling of your buttocks, relaxing. If you're able to, you can open your eyes again, if not, it doesn't matter, you can just imagine opening your eyes, and seeing your legs.
Now, five, four, three, two, one, close your eyes, five, four, three, two, one, one, just being aware of how your legs are more relaxed, your buttocks, your thighs, knees, calves, and shins, ankles, more relaxed, moving your focus into your feet and toes, feet and toes, open your eyes, and if you can, imagine seeing your feet and toes.
Now, five, four, three, two, one, close your eyes, five, four, three, two, one, your feet and toes, loose and peaceful, as you now focus on your chest, the whole of your chest, you can even include the area, the sides of your body, underneath your arms, and those muscles from your chest that move into your back, your collarbone, your ribs, all of your internal organs in that part of your body, relaxing, healing, if your eyes open, or imagine opening your eyes and seeing your chest, relaxing, now, five, four, three, two, one,
and closing your eyes, five, four, three, two, one, one, peaceful, and calm, and now, lastly, we're going to focus on the whole of your head, your scalp, your forehead, your eyes, nose, ears, mouth, your jaw, your chin, every inch of your head, your skin, your hair, your teeth, your gums, opening your eyes, or imagining opening them, now, five, four, three, two, one, and closing your eyes, five, four, three, two, one, and allow the feelings of deep comfort to continue, continue spreading, deep relaxation, throughout your body and mind, and every time you hear my voice, you can feel just as relaxed as you do now, feel just as peaceful and calm, now.
Paragraph spacing and recurring name or title errors have been tidied. Because this began as a voice transcription, an occasional word or piece of punctuation may still be incorrect.
