Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland. This is Sleep Hypnosis Weekly. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
This is going to be both a relaxation and sleep session. So you could say that the first part is relaxation and the second half would be falling asleep. There will be two versions, one with and one without music.
The one with music will be two hours long and the music is provided by Kevin MacLeod and his details including his website will be in the description of the podcast. So please go visit his website and check out all of his music that he provides free for people to use and to listen to. If you're listening to this solely for relaxation, I suggest that you set your alarm to wake yourself up.
Because these recordings do tend to have what you may call the boredom factor. You may find that you just drift asleep, which is kind of the point I guess. But you may have other things to do.
You may be deciding to just have a nice relaxing hour and you may be going to work or something. So it's about preparing yourself for what you need. So it's always quite nice to just get in touch with how you're feeling.
Get in touch with not just physically, but also how you feel emotionally. And the longer you listen to me talking, those physical and emotional feelings have a tendency of naturally changing. Because any stress that you may have in your body automatically starts to reduce.
And if you feel that you've got an overactive mind at this moment, your mind will also start to slow down. And here's something that you can do, which may be useful to you, is if there's something on your mind that is important to you. And for some reason you feel like you need to keep thinking about it, yet at the same time you don't really want to think about it while you're relaxing and preparing to drift off to sleep.
What you can do is write down on a piece of paper or a pad or something, just write down what it is that's on your mind that you've been thinking about. You could just write down a sentence or maybe even just a word. That way you've addressed it briefly and you can leave it to one side.
And then later, if you choose, you can come back to it, which allows your mind a chance to just relax. Relaxing into this moment where you can just let go of that stuff because we don't need to be thinking about things all the time. As it's really quite useful to spend some time where you just allow your mind to just be where it is.
To just be calm, to just, almost to just be at peace in a space, a safe space, where nothing is required from you. You don't need to do anything, you don't need to say anything or think about anything. It's just that space, the place where you can sit or lie down and literally let go of everything.
And it's almost as if by wrapping your mind around the idea of being in a safe space where you don't need to think about anything, where nothing is required from you. Nobody wants anything from you, no one wants you to do anything, you don't need to do anything. You can just be yourself, be you.
And however weird or strange or unusual it may seem, to start with, the idea of just being. You know, the idea of just sitting or lying down and enjoying a safe space of comfort. You can almost imagine an aura or an energy field moving around you, protecting you and allowing you to just be there, untroubled, undisturbed and peaceful.
And that safe space allows you to relax naturally, and the more you relax, the sleepier you can become. And that relaxation, deep relaxation, if you want, if you choose, can become sleepy and that sense of naturally drifting. That arises automatically, without trying to get those feelings to arise, you just naturally start to drift in your mind.
And then you come back again, you're aware of feeling comfortable and safe. And you may focus on the different parts of your body, noticing how you're feeling more relaxed. And then you may not even notice that you're drifting, may not even really be aware that your mind is drifting away.
Until you notice that you're back in that safe place again. And one of the benefits of these feelings of increased comfort spreading through your body and your mind means that it doesn't matter if you drift. It doesn't matter if you don't drift.
It doesn't matter if you notice that you've drifted or you notice that you're drifting towards deep sleep. Because it becomes less important to you, the more relaxed you become, the less you care about feeling relaxed. You just become accustomed to this familiar feeling of comfort spreading through your body and your mind feels almost still.
And it's not that you're unable to think about things, because you are, your brain is still working, your mind is still working. If anything, your body and your mind can feel so clear as if all those blockages have been removed. So that actually your brain and your body and your mind work better now than they did 15 minutes ago.
However, as you continue to relax even deeper, you realize that you don't have to do or think about anything. You realize that you are the boss of your mind and your body. You are in charge of deciding when and how and for how long you decide to relax deeply.
And to enjoy spending time in that safe, relaxing space. This space where you don't just become floppy and sink into your bed or your chair and almost become nothing and just disappear. Although that may happen if you choose for that to happen.
And that's the point, it's about choosing, it's about you allowing yourself, giving yourself permission to really, really relax deeply. Giving yourself the chance to heal, the chance for your body to recuperate, a chance for your brain to regenerate. A chance for your mind to just let go, to just let go.
A chance for your mind to relax so deeply. And of course when your mind relaxes, your body relaxes and when your body relaxes, your mind relaxes even deeper. Yet something more happens, because when you relax your body and your mind, you give your body permission to allow the healing energy to spread through you.
Through your body, healing, calming and doing whatever is necessary to heal your body and that healing energy also spreads to your mind. And you can notice that the healing feeling spreads through your brain, stimulating and activating even more. Comfort and relaxation throughout your body and your mind starts to drift, drift even further.
Healing so very sleepy, feeling so deeply relaxed, sleepy, so, so sleepy, sleepy. Relax, sleepy, relax, sleepy, sleepy, sleepy, sleepy, sleepy, sleepy.
Paragraph spacing and recurring name or title errors have been tidied. Because this began as a voice transcription, an occasional word or piece of punctuation may still be incorrect.
