Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Sleep Hypnosis Weekly. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. This is going to be both a relaxation session and a sleep session.
So if you're listening solely for the relaxation and you have other plans, maybe in an hour or two, then I suggest you set your alarm because it will also be aimed at boring your mind so that your mind just drifts off. And there will be two versions of this recording, one with and one without music. The one with music will be the music will be provided by Kevin MacLeod.
It's open source music and I will put his details in the description of the podcast episode. So the one with the music will last about 51 minutes. And if you're used to listening to me, maybe you've been listening to me for a few weeks or a few months, maybe for many years, some people have, you may find that upon hearing my voice, you just naturally feel relaxed and sleepy.
You naturally feel relaxed and sleepy because when you're lying down on your bed, which is the preferred position to be if you're listening to this for sleeping and you've got your eyes closed and you're just listening to my voice, you'll notice that your body begins to naturally relax and your mind starts to slow down. And even though I continue to talk to you, your mind will lose interest in what I'm saying.
And even though your unconscious mind can still absorb the words and the meanings and the ideas that may be presented to you, you just consciously become a bit bored, really.
Because this isn't really edge of your seat stuff, you know, it's just me talking. And I'm probably not gonna say anything that you haven't already heard me say before. Maybe it will be slightly different, yet very similar.
And as far as the outcome of you feeling so much more relaxed, physically and mentally, you'll also find as your mind slows down, there's no longer anything that really grabs your attention, except my voice. And there's only so long that anyone can listen to me talking before your mind starts to drift. And that is perfectly normal, because I'm just attempting to concentrate completely on my voice and my words.
And your mind just starts to feel a little bit repetitive. And even though you're not attempting to drift away in your mind, it just seems to happen anyway. And the more you listen to me, the more relaxed the muscles in your body feel so calm, almost like they're just deflating.
All the air is just exiting the muscles of your body. It feels really nice for you to allow this natural sense of comfort to continue to grow and spread throughout your body, deep into your bones, relaxing all of your bones deeply. Deeply relaxed in your face, your eyes, your jaw and your mouth, your forehead, deeply relaxed in your cheekbones, your temple and your ears, your tongue and your gums.
It's almost like you can feel your teeth relaxing and your throat relaxing really calmly as you give your throat a nice rest from talking. And then you've got the sides of your neck, apart from your ears, moving down to your shoulders, relaxing. And of course, there's the back of your neck, a part of your body that really appreciates the opportunity to relax deeply, relax deeply, relax deeply, all the way down your spine.
And you can just visualize those muscles either side of your spine melting away. And as they melt away, that sense of deep, deep relaxation continues to spread sideways into the whole of your back, relaxing in every inch of your back, from the top all the way down to your lower back, all to your lower back. And you can really feel it in your lower back, those muscles melting away, melting away.
And you can feel the whole of your torso, the top of your body, your chest, your ribs, your stomach, your shoulders, melting away, melting away. And now you can feel it again in your shoulders, moving down your arms into your hands and fingers, your arms, your hands, and your fingers, melting away, melting away. And just feel it in your hips, in that whole area, your buttocks, your groin, the tops of your legs, feel as relaxed as your lower back, as relaxed as your stomach, as that whole area is melting away, melting away.
And your legs, all the way down from the tops of your legs, down to your feet and your toes, the tops of your legs, down to your feet and your toes, melting away, melting away, melting away. And as I count from 10 down to 1, every muscle from the top of your head to the tips of your toes will relax and melt, twice as deeply. With every number I count, every muscle from your head to your toes will melt and relax deeply, twice as deeply.
