Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland, this is Sleep Hypnosis Weekly. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Now, this recording will have two versions, one with and one without music.
So I hope you enjoy. So ideally you'll be getting yourself into a comfortable position, laying down on your bed. And when you lay down on your bed, there's that connection with your bed that you've had since you was a baby, the connection of sleeping.
Of course we do other things in beds when we're adults, but generally there's that continuous connection with sleeping, that's connected to laying down on your bed. And when your head touches the pillow, that's also a sign to your mind to slow down. So, it's now time to enter into this safe space, where you can just let go completely.
Feel safe to relax your body totally. And also feel safe to allow your mind to slowly transform from being maybe very active to being really, really calm. A bit like the weather, in a way, if you imagine a very wavy sea, the difference compared to a really calm, peaceful sea, especially when you're standing on a beach.
When it's so calm, you can barely hear the tide slowly coming in or going out. And sometimes if you were to sit on a beach on a nice day, if you're there long enough, you'll see the changes in the sea might go from being very choppy and very wavy and splashy and fairly loud, just calming down slowly, slowly, almost to a whisper. And it changes the atmosphere.
It almost seems to change the surroundings. It changes how you feel. And in a way, the brain is what controls those waves in your mind.
And by asking your brain to calm down those waves in your mind, to be very peaceful, still and quiet, to just gently transform the way that you feel. Very, very calmly, allowing your mind to become more peaceful at its own speed, by being patient, by showing yourself some love, some appreciation.
And also, even though you have decided that at this moment, maybe for the next few hours or so, you don't really require the level of thinking that you normally have, even though you don't need those thoughts at this present moment, you can still show gratitude to your mind and your brain for producing all of those great ideas that you had during your life.
You can thank your mind for being active when you need it to be active. You can thank your mind for being wide awake when you need your mind to be that way. So instead of pushing your mind away, you're showing it love.
In fact, you're not even leaving it out, you're inviting your mind to join you in this peaceful moment. You're inviting your mind to be part of your deep relaxation, to join the muscles in your body and just automatically continue to feel more relaxed and sleepy. And when your mind hears you showing gratitude, it no longer feels that it's being pushed away or it's being, you know, not included, that it's a burden or it's in the way, because you can realize that that ability to create thoughts and the ability to think things through is an amazing thing, it's a gift and it's just not needed right now.
And doesn't your mind deserve to take a rest? Doesn't your mind deserve a little holiday for a few hours? Just as much as the muscles in your legs, your stomach, your chest, your back, your arms, shoulders, hands, neck. Just as much as your face and your eyelids, your eyes, your jaw, your forehead, your spine, your fingers, your toes, your hips. Doesn't your mind deserve to also enjoy that sense of letting go and opening your arms and welcoming the natural sensations of deep relaxing sleep.
Welcome deep relaxing sleep. And even though the logical side of our brains or minds doesn't really need to be working at this point, because that too can let go and relax completely. Because memories of the past are no longer needed in this moment.
Thoughts of the future and plans also no longer needed in this moment. Nothing is needed from your mind in this moment, because your mind can take a break, have a rest. And that love that you send to your mind reminds your mind that you really are appreciated and you deserve to take a rest.
And you deserve to feel appreciated, because of all the work your mind does for you. Day after day, week after week, month and year after year, your mind deserves to take a break every day, for the duration that you're in bed, just to take a rest, a nice peaceful rest. And when your mind feels this relaxed and sleepy, your body has no option but to follow and to also feel this relaxed and sleepy.
As well as that sense of feeling appreciated for everything that your body does for you, day in, day out, weeks, months and years in, year out, every day of your life. You can experience that gratitude towards not just your body, not just your mind, but also your brain. Because your brain is the most important part of your existence.
So when you start to share that gratitude with your brain, it's a real lightness, starts to fill you, your body, your mind, that lightness of comfort and pleasure of just giving in to sleep, saying yes to relaxing so deeply, letting go of everything, relaxing really, really, really, relaxing so completely, so sleepy. And I'm going to count down from 20 down to 1, relaxing your brain even more with each number, relaxing your brain even more sleepy with each number.
