Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name's Jason Newland. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

And again, as soon as I start talking, the instant this little, this little fox-like creature runs into the room and starts making weird noises, and now he's doing little barks. Can you hear that? It's very cute. What was that? He's excited because my neighbour downstairs has just got home and he loves her.

He really loves her. He wants to say hello. Don't you? You can't.

You can't. No, because we're busy. She's got a cat and he's obsessed with getting into that flat to see the cat.

I know it sounds like it's a rhyme, but it's just what's on my mind. It hasn't quite turned out the day that I was expecting now. I posted on Facebook that I was going to be visiting Logie.

So let me explain the situation about Logie. And for those who don't know who Logie is, I'll tell you who Logie is. So Logie is my friend's dog, the one that passed away last year.

I looked after him for a couple of months and then somebody came forward and wanted to take him on, which was good. That was the end of January. Well, Friday is... Oh, by the way, if you want to, if you would like to give me a question for tomorrow's Q&A Friday, then please do.

Just post it on Jason Newland's Boring Group on Facebook. Right. Okay.

Back to Logie. This is an action-packed episode. Oh, yes.

Action. And so we'll do Logie first. So I got a phone call from a neighbor on Friday evening and she was like, oh, that's some really bad news.

I said, okay. I don't know how to tell you this. All right.

I was like, obviously, well, obviously, I say obviously, but yeah, a little bit concerned about what was going to be coming next. I thought she was going to ask a favor. She needed me to cut her grass or something.

I'm like, oh, please, please no. Please don't tell me she's moving and she wants help. Just, you know, standard stuff.

And she said, oh, I don't know. I'll just say it. I'll just say it out.

I'll just quickly say it. I said, it's too late for that really, isn't it? Because we've been on the phone for an hour. You can't really just like quickly say it when you haven't quickly said it.

She said there was no need for that. I said, I'm sorry. You're distressed.

Carry on. She said, yeah, I am. Do you want to know why? I said, kind of, yeah, I'd like to kind of get to hear it.

And she said, well, somebody that she knew had accidentally come across Logie on the internet and he's in an RSPCA dog shelter. I would say local, but it's not. It's about 40, 40 minutes drive away from here.

So it's not local to me because I do want to drive. But I spent two hours searching online on Friday evening. Now I'm going to say I'm sticking to two hours because it sounds like I really put a lot of effort into it.

And I want to be a hero. I want to be the hero of this story. I might not spend quite, quite that long, but I spent a bit of time looking, going through all the different RSPCA, shelters and any other dog shelter in the area and nothing came up.

Probably because I was aiming at this area. Anyway, and that doesn't come under the same town as the town that I'm living in. It's just kind of outside.

So I'm thinking maybe they've got it wrong. Maybe it's a mistake, like I was often told I was. So I've spoilt many a birthday party.

So I think in maybe, maybe it's not true. Maybe it was just like, you know, it was just a lie or who knows? Who knows? I've heard a lot of things over the years that were almost made up. Anyway, anyway, anyway, I visit a friend, a different friend, and I told her, I told her this story.

And she said, oh, I can find out. I said, no, you won't be able to find out. It's taken me, I spent five hours on Friday looking online.

And then he started barking. He heard something, heard something in the garden. Got ever excited, ever so excited, so excited.

So he jumped onto the windowsill and I drew the curtains so he could get on there. And I thought I'll just leave him in the bedroom. He didn't want to stay in the bedroom, just wanted to follow me where I was going.

So I've got him a little bone to chew on one of his little, it's like a bone graveyard in here. They're not real bones. They're just those chewy things that he likes.

Anyway, there's quite a few on the floor. Unfortunately, it's a bit too big for him. So I need to get some smaller ones.

So I go around this neighbour's house. It's Vinnie's mum. She was the one that had him before me.

So he adores her, absolutely adores her. She lives across the road from me. So we go around there.

And I tell her, I say, I sit down. I didn't need to sit down to tell her that, but I just was wanting to sit down. And although I don't find, this is no offence, I don't find a sofa particularly comfortable, because the back is too far away.

It's like, I think it's good if you've got really long legs, which I don't. Or cushions, you know. I don't carry cushions around with me.

Mind you, I think he does have cushions on them. But I like my own cushions. If I had some, I would like my own.

So anyway, so I'm sitting there on the sofa. The door's open because she's got a door and a garden, got a little garden. Well, it's quite a nice garden, actually.

I wouldn't really call it little. It's not a mansion garden. It's not the size of a for him.

Perfect for me. I keep trying to get her to swap, but she won't for some reason. For some reason, she won't swap her two bedroom flat with a new kitchen, lovely bathroom, really nice big rooms and a garden.

She won't swap that for this. It doesn't make sense to me. I need to get a new carpet.

This place, the carpet, I think is... I think if he was here, you'd be sarcastic and say, yeah, it's the carpet that's the problem. Yeah, that's what the problem is. Just the carpet.

I think having these wild animals, having Andre, he absolutely destroyed the carpet in every possible way he could. Every possible... Honestly, there's not... I don't think there's one part of the carpet he didn't try to dig up. So I'm sitting there.

I noticed it was a bit cold because I went in there and I wasn't even going to... Was I going to knock? I don't think I was going to knock, but I took Vinnie for a walk. Walk? I just said that out loud. He's busy.

I think when you eat, your ears don't work so well, do they? I think that's what's happening. Because of what he's eating, it's so loud. It's like crunchy, crunchy, crunchy.

He probably can't really hear. So if I shout it out... No, I'm not going to test it. I'm not going to test it.

Some people might think, why would you want to shout it out? I'm not going to test it. No. What I mean is I'm not going to shout something that would normally get his attention, just in case it does.

And then he'll be distracted from the bone and it will be a distraction for me whilst I talk. So it's Friday today. No, it's not Friday.

Is it Friday? No, it's Thursday. It's blindly good. It's Thursday today.

It was a bit chilly, so I asked if I could close the door. I don't know. It's like a different temperature to what it was in my flat.

So anyway, we're just sitting down, chatting. And that was the main thing I wanted to tell her about Logie. Being like, I wasn't sure if it was true or not.

And the most important thing, I know it might sound weird, but for me is two things, that he's okay, which he is. And secondly, that people don't go blaming the lady that took him on for him ending up back in shelter, because nobody knows what the situation is. And there's lots of reasons why that could happen.

And she loved him. She's known him for years and years and years. And he loved her.

So I don't, you know, because it's quite often people go down that road of the whole, how could blah, blah, blah. And it's like, no, you don't know what's happened. And first of all, he's an escape artist anyway.

And maybe she looked for him, couldn't find him. Maybe she's unwell. So I just, I tried to contact her, but she's not answering the phone.

Well, and she's not answering Facebook and stuff. So it's fine. I just hope she's okay.

There's a picture of Logie on. Anyway, what happened is my friend, she said, Oh, I'll find it. Only take a couple of seconds.

I said, No. I actually stood up at this point. I stood up, I stamped my feet on the ground.

And I said, I spent six hours on Friday, looking for Logie online. And I put an advert on the newspaper to look for him. So you know, don't don't start telling me that you can find him in two seconds, all cavalier, all like, oh, oh, aren't I good.

I can find things really quickly on Facebook. It wasn't Facebook, it was just online. But Vinnie was loving it there.

But he didn't want to go outside because it's raining. So he's outside for a little bit. And he's kept barking at the upstairs neighbor.

And I was saying, Come in. And she said, Don't worry, doesn't matter. Don't like her anyway.

It's like, Yeah, but it's not really the point. Because he shouted at him once. A few weeks ago, Vinnie was in there.

I think he was. I think she had a window open. So maybe she put a red out or something.

He was barking, just say hello. And she shouted something. So that that because she's still his mom, even though he's living with me now.

She is still a part of his life, which I think is good, because he adores her, absolutely adores her. So it's good. I mean, he stayed with her overnight, a few weeks back, and she gave him a bath and tucked him up in bed, sent me a picture of him.

And he's the thing is, what she said to me is, even though he's like super excited when he's there, when he first gets there, he does the zoomies, you know, going in and out of the rooms, because he used to live there, lived there for like three months before me. So he's like zooming in and out in the garden. He loves it.

But apparently, I've only got a word for this. But apparently when I'm not there, he comes right down. Start smoking a cigar.

It's very chilled out, but slippers on. Now, he apparently he's, he's like sometimes sits at the door waiting for me. Or it looks like he's just like, where's that? Where's that? Just waiting for me to come back.

So I find that hard to believe, because he doesn't seem to be too interested in me anyway, normally. That's just the way he is. And so he was so happy to be there, to be honest, zipping around.

I don't know who called it the zoomies. But I like that that it wasn't my name. Someone called it that.

Maybe someone online or the zoomies like in and out of the rooms. He used to do that when I took him to the fields. When I first got him, we'd go to the fields and he'd get all mud clogged up in his in his toenails and fingernails.

He'd be coming in. That's what I thought it was. He was trying to get it out.

But perhaps that was part of it. But he was just enjoying, you know, even though he'd walked for miles, he'd come back and run in between the bedroom and the living room and it was frantic. It doesn't do that too often in here now.

But he does do it when we go and visit her. So I think he's that he does get overexcited here as well. There's times when I mean, but I phoned her.

Yeah, I phoned her before I went round. That's it. So when I went round, yes, I phoned her before I went round.

But I still have my jacket on. So I don't know, that doesn't make sense. That's I went to the petrol station.

But I just still can't remember can't can't believe how confident she was. So yeah, just take me take me a couple of minutes I can find. I'll find him.

I know. I know where he'll be. So like, I thought, I'm going to do a dance this time like 17 hours.

17 hours I've been searching for him. I've been looking around the streets. I hired a hot air balloon.

I couldn't find him anywhere. He's not you can say he's mine. Yeah, online.

I I called up Elon Musk and got him to search with the best computers to search. I said, Can you use grok please? I heard as good can use that. And he searched the entire internet and he couldn't find Logie anywhere.

And you say you're going to find him. She looked at me a bit blank face like, I've heard of Elon Musk. But what's grotch? grok? What's grok? It's like in one of his AI things.

It's like chat GPT. What's chat GPT? Oh, man. Anyway, she found him within two minutes.

Couldn't honestly. She just went straight away to the rescue place that her dog where she got her dog from a few years back and started looking through the pictures. And as she found him, she was upset when she saw him because she was hoping he wasn't there.

She was hoping that it wasn't it was like a different dog and it was a mistake. And there he was staring back and there was let me have a look. There's a few three, three or four pictures.

What was weird though is what they said about him. That's what I found very weird. So there's one, two, three, four pictures.

They're all different ones like kind of a full picture of him looking forward. The other one, the other two of him just sitting up looking so pretty. And the other one is kind of most of his body but sort of looking in a you can get a more of an idea of his head size on that one.

He's smiling in all of them. Very, very happy. Very happy.

And it says here, can you offer Logan a loving forever home? Click here for more information. Now, here's what I didn't understand that we couldn't figure this out to start with. First of all, I've got down Logan.

Only people that knew that know him really well know that his name is Logan. Everybody else knows him as Logie. We all called him Logie.

I think he got called Logan when he was naughty by his dad. But everybody knew him as Logie. So only people that knew him well, knew what his actual name was.

And it might sound weird, but obviously it's Logan and it's Logie. But I think with dogs, not necessarily. It's like saying, well, obviously, obviously, Vinnie's real name is Vincent.

Everyone knows that. Oh, no, not everyone does know that. Because it's not true.

Anyway, so we couldn't figure that one out. Why are they calling him Logan? You know, it's that's weird, unless someone actually brought him in and handed him in to be looked after sort and then they're saying stuff that didn't make sense to me. So I read out what it says.

Meet our senior boy Logan. This gentle soul arrived as a stray as and is in some desperate need of some TLC. He is an older fella, but still full of beans and a lust for life.

Despite his advancing years, he has no health issues at the moment, apart from being a little wobbly on his back legs. But he doesn't that doesn't seem to hold him back any. He loves his walks and is a bit of a social butterfly.

Now that alarm bells went in my brain. Not didn't literally didn't literally have alarm bells. But it's like, yeah, if they talk about with people because he is he loves, loves people.

Then it says he likes walking rubber. I couldn't say that laughing. He likes walking with other dogs and spends time playing with his canine friends every day here at the center.

Now that I don't, I don't get. I didn't understand that because that makes no sense because he did not like other dogs. He loved Vinnie.

But that was an anomaly. An anomaly. An anomaly.

Anomaly. You know that word. An anomaly.

An anomaly. Anyway, it was a it was a one off kind of thing. So he liked walking with other dogs spent time playing with canine friends.

So unfortunately, I'm not going to details, but he has had fights with other dogs multiple times over the years, which I mean, he could never come back to this area. Because there's, there's a particular dog that he attacked. A couple few years ago, and I got to know the parent like that the mom and dad of the dog.

And I had never heard I didn't know what the story was when I found out I was very shocked. And they were very glad that he wasn't around here anymore. Because what happened, which is understandable.

That was sad for my friend like the circumstances, but they felt I think they felt a bit more safer walking him. So anyway, so he says he also loves people is super friendly towards all the staff and is a favorite amongst our volunteers. Yeah, that that doesn't surprise me.

It's a lovely dog. I mean, it he will lay on you or he likes to lay behind you if he can, or he'll lay on you. He just loves to be with you.

That's his thing. He loves, loves humans, loves people. And regardless of how fighty he's been with other dogs in the past, you could leave them with a baby and be a hunt a million percent know that the baby safe from everything because because he would protect that baby.

It's just that's within and that's his instinct. I guess the same way that Vinnie's instinct is to hunt. Logan's instinct was to protect kids, love kids.

He also used to remember we were walking Vinnie and me and my friend Vinnie and Loki. And this dog came over. It was one of Vinnie's friends.

But Loki got in between them to protect Vinnie. So and there was another dog that my friend took on. And it used to be a bit feisty.

It was a young dog, a year old or something. And Loki used to tell it off and get away from Vinnie. So it's very protective towards Vinnie.

Which is we couldn't really understand it because it's not just a size difference, but he didn't really like any dogs, but especially little dogs. Wasn't a big fan of little dogs. But that seems to have changed.

So it's like, Oh, so Logan, okay, he Oh, this is the next bit that really blew my mind, which like, this doesn't make sense. What's more, we think he's house trained, which he is. He's a pleasure to walk, which he never was.

There was no pleasure walking him. He walks beautifully on a loose lead. Now, he didn't.

He would pull soon as you go out the door, he would pull and it'd be it just pull you from side to side pillar to post if that's the right phrase. Although there was no pillars or posts. I do have pillows for my bed, but I don't take them out with me.

And I've got no posts. Didn't get any delivery today. No post or delivery.

So he walks beautifully on a loose lead. So this doesn't make sense. Firstly, how did they know his name is Logan? How is he suddenly? How is his personality changed? So he's now friendly towards other dogs, not only friendly, but like really friendly.

And how does he walk? Well, on lead, which he never used to before. Okay, it's not totally true on the way back from a walk. Because his legs were worn.

He has got some issues with his back legs. So he walks slower on the way back. But coming out, you know, in order to go to the toilet and all that stuff.

He's definitely kind of pulls and everything. But sometimes on the way back, he's a bit more relaxed. So yeah, kind of this doesn't make sense.

Logan has a playful side and enjoys playing with toys when he's in the right mood. Yeah, that's him. For the most part, though, he just loves to be in your company.

Cuddles and fusses what he loves best. Yep. That's our Logie.

The special gen is a real gem. Can't wait to be back in a warm, loving home where he can live out the rest of his golden years in peace and quiet. He deserves that as well.

And do you think you can give Logan the retirement home he craves and desires? Please fill an application form and someone will be in touch. Well, after about an hour of my friend bragging about how good she was at finding things online. We like talked about this like this doesn't make sense.

Well, first of all, how did he get in there? But how did they know his name is Logan? And it doesn't and how is he had a personality transformation? And why does he look so happy? I really looks happy in that picture. I posted a picture on Facebook. And so yeah, anyway, so I phoned him up about three times when I was at my friends.

And this was I don't know, true Tuesday, I think. And then Wednesday. Yesterday, so I kept phoning him up and I left a message.

But I wasn't sure if the message went through because I think I spoke for too long. And by the time I'd finished talking, they'd hung up on me. But I did give my telephone number and my name right at the beginning.

And I said the telephone number twice clearly. So I wasn't sure if that I wasn't sure if the answer machine had just fried with boredom. Anyway, got a phone call yesterday.

So that's Wednesday, which is when they're supposed to be closed. So I didn't expect to hear from them. Close to the public anyway.

And this lovely lady said, Hello, is that is that Jason? And I said, Yeah, hi. Hi. She said, you left a message yesterday.

And I started listening to it last night. And it's just finished. And do you be confused? You know him? Or? I said, Yeah, well, let me explain.

She said, No, no, no, no, no, no. The answer machine message was long enough. Just how do you know him? Without sending me to sleep? Can you just explain? I said, Well, I just explained to her that I was his uncle really, known him for about eight years.

Lived upstairs, and he was best friends with Vinnie. And I used to see him regularly and be up here for quite a lot. I used to look after him and like at times he'd stay over and with my friend was go away, went away or something or just for a few hours during the day and stuff like that.

So he knows me very well. And she said, I said, I've got questions. She said, Well, we've all got questions, haven't we? And that's kind of it's not what religion is for.

I said, No, not those kind of questions. So well, philosophy, I said, Well, yeah, I do have questions, philosophical questions, but not for you. She said, How do you know? How do you know that I don't have some wisdom? I mean, for you know, I might have gone to university and studied ancient philosophy.

Did you? No, but that's not the point. I said, Well, why do all my conversations have to go so strange? She said, Maybe if you just a bit more straightforward, and, you know, didn't exaggerate in your stories about the conversations. I mean, you know, you want to bore people, just be truthful, just talk about the actual conversation as it happens.

Because, I mean, be honest, have you ever had an interesting conversation on the phone? Ah, yes, actually, I have. Can you talk about it on your podcast? And we both said no, at the same time. It's like, No, no, I can't.

Fair enough. I can't remember the last time I had an interesting conversation on the phone. Quite a while ago.

Quite a while ago. So, right. I said, Well, I got questions.

I was just like, What? First of all, how do you know his name is Logan? She said, Because he's chipped. I said, What? I bet he wasn't chipped. He said, He was.

We chipped him last time. I said, Last time? She said, Yeah, he's been in here twice before. I was like, Oh, okay.

I remember now. I didn't know where it was. But I didn't realize it was that place.

Because he was, as I said, he's an escape artist. So twice before he's escaped. And they said, We're just waiting for your friend to come and pick him up.

The bloke that normally picks him up to contact us. And he didn't. And we tried to contact him.

But his phone was off couldn't get hold of him. So I explained why they couldn't get hold of him. And they said, I said, See, just couldn't figure out why you call him Logan, because we all call him Logie.

She said, Really? I said, Yeah, Logie. We don't. No one calls him Logan.

I noticed his name, but everyone calls him Logie. She said, Oh, so they've not changed it on here. I think they'll just continue calling him Logan.

Maybe they like that word, that name. They might be fans of Logan's Run. 1970s sci fi show.

Or was it early 80s? Brilliant. You don't know? Do you know Logan's Run? It was first of all, I think it was a movie. And then they turned it into a TV show.

I think that was the way it went. Logan's Run. And there was an Android.

So basically, the synopsis for it, if I remember 1976, the movie. Logan's Run. Logan's Run.

Logan's Run. Why is that? Why? Logan's Run the film. But I want to see the TV show.

Okay, TV show. Because I had different people in it, I guess. Logan's Run TV show.

It was a 70s. There's a spinoff in a 1976 movie. And the air aired from September 16 1977 to February 1978.

What? You telling me there's the series lasted only 14 episodes? I am. I'm very, very surprised. It was a brilliant show.

And wow. Do you want to know what it is about? I mean, it's quite famous. Well, I thought it was.

Maybe it's not. But I think what's quite weird is the Android in it kind of looks like an older version of the Android out of Star Trek. Star Trek.

What was it? Not not the Captain Kirk one, but the next one. Oh, that one. And just had a sort of similar kind of look on his face.

But yeah, there was an Android in there. So basically, it was this. What do they call it like post apocalypse kind of era, where everybody no one was allowed to live past the age of 30.

And that was it is probably in order to to not I don't know the reason. To be fair, so I can imagine why but just it seems a bit young. So there's Logan and his girlfriend, or wife or whatever, they run off.

Or Logan runs off, someone runs off to escape. I was to see Logan and Jessica escaping from the City of Dames, only to be pursued by Francis Randolph Powell, and various other sandmen. Travelling the futuristic hovercraft like a vehicle, which they find in an abandoned building in the remains of Washington, DC.

They embark on a trek through post post apocalyptic United States to find sanctuary. On their journey, they encounter strange human societies, robots and aliens. And you know what, I loved it.

I really did. And I'm just really surprised that I only lasted for what is it 14 episodes of the saying earlier. Because for me, my memory is it was went on for ages.

But then we think about it, I was seven years old, when it finished. Seven when it finished. But they did in them days, they did show repeats.

So we might not seen it until like, you know, early 80s in this country. Yeah, that is a chance. Because we didn't always see stuff.

You know, at the same it, there's always a lag, always a lag behind. That's why it's Wow, so it's a running joke. It's a running joke inside my head.

When I was a kid, or younger, that the Christmas episodes of sitcoms and TV shows, American ones were often during the summer, in the summertime, Christmas episode. See, in this country, I mean, you get repeats, like Christmas, sometimes repeat episodes and stuff. But generally, an ongoing show, whether it's a sitcom, whether it's a soap opera or whatever.

If there's a Christmas episode, they show it at Christmas. And then you don't see it again. If you see it on a repeat, it will be at Christmas, you know, another year.

But with I don't know, maybe in America, you had the same thing. And you got to see some English stuff. Like some of the people on the beach and stuff on Christmas Day, or maybe, which is why I think I think that's why Australian soaps were so popular over here.

Because like neighbors and then home away. There was others, but they neighbors, I was kind of the big one, really, that was the one that became the most popular out of all of them. Although I stick to my guns.

And I will say that at the time, in the 80s, my favorite soap was Sons and Daughters for a while. And there was this little period when I was able to watch I had like the afternoon off because I'd be working the lunch shift and the chip shop and then the evening. So I'd have like between two and four off work.

And I go back in. So in that time, I'd go home, wherever I was living. And I'd watch Sons and Daughters on TV.

And they were really good at cliffhangers, like really good at me. Oh, really good. And it wasn't all happy sunshine stuff.

It was as dramatic as anything you'd see in Dallas or dynasty or dynasty. It was very much that kind of level of not glamour. Let's face nothing really hit, hit the levels of dynasty with glamour, and Dallas and you know, all these multi millionaires altogether.

And is it Falcon's Crest is another one. What's the isn't there another one? Picking? Falcon's Crest? Was that was a reach over from from Dallas possibly. And there was another one.

Oh, forget it. Flamingo Road or something. I'm sure there was a as Flamingo Road.

Have I got have I made that up? Flamingo Road. Flamingo Road. Wow.

I didn't make it up. It's true. It's true.

It's a real thing. The show is 1980 19. Right, the show started television.

Okay, the television show and a weekly series from 1981 to 1982. What? Oh, no, no. Wait a minute.

Oh, so it's only 38 episodes in the whole thing. Wow. Why on earth would I remember that? Flamingo Road? Very strange.

I don't even know what it's about who's in it. Woody Beck, John Beck, Woody Brown, Peter Donnant. Morgan Fairchild.

Yep. Morgan Fairchild. Mark Harmon.

No, not Mark Harmon, the comedian on Mark Harmon. No. Is that Mark Harmon? TV shows.

Flamingo Road is also in the love boat. Chicago Hope. Jag NCIS.

That's what I know from NCIS for blimey 18 years. Blimey. He played the same character in Jag as he did in NCIS.

Wow. He was also a detective in Reasonable Doubts in 91 to 93. 45 episodes of that.

37 episodes of Flamingo Road. It's in Elsewhere. That's another thing.

I used to watch in Elsewhere. 70 episodes. Blimey.

Anyway, I might have gone off track a little bit. But I can see why people liked watching things like Home and Away and Neighbours. Because in the winter we'd be watching it and even when they were, we was always behind and eventually we caught up because Neighbours started a lot long before it came here.

So Neighbours TV show. So we were behind. Or maybe it didn't.

It's aired since 1985. Maybe they did it. I mean it's on every day.

It was literally on every day. So how did they manage to do that? Have a soap on every day? I'm going to just keep repeating every day. I don't know why.

Anyway, I don't care. It was um it was nice. I used to like Neighbours because it was quite bright, quite uplifting.

Even the sad stories were almost uplifting. Maybe it's because of the sunshine or I don't know. I don't know.

The the scenes of people on a beach surfing on Christmas Day, you know. I mean I wouldn't want to do that any day. Any day of the week would I want to go surfing ever.

Never, ever, ever, ever. But it's just not my thing. I'm not a big surfing fan.

I mean I used to be a surfing superstar when I was younger. I remember winning all those awards and just I got bored after a while. Just it's something about being famous for just one thing.

Like there's more to me than just this fantastic body, bronze looks, you know. Just and athleticism. I can't say the word properly if you give me notice.

If I plan. Athleticism. Athleticism.

Yeah, that's it. Athleticism. Anyway, it doesn't sound right now.

Athleticism. So I spoke to this lady about Logan and I explained you know his previous misadventures with other dogs and she was like shocked. Like really? Glad you told us.

I said well something must have happened for you to for him to be so different and she said well sometimes a different environment can bring that out in a dog. Maybe he wasn't around other dogs enough which is true because he was like the way he was. We kept him away from other dogs apart from Vinnie.

Vinnie doesn't give you an option. He enforces friendship upon everyone. He does.

He just goes up to every single person regardless and he wants to be friends with them. That's his nature. He's the opposite to me.

So he's eating his dinner now. He's eating his num-nums. So I just said okay well something must have happened.

I said has he had his you know his dangly bits? Has he still got his dangly bits? She said no no he got done. All the dogs get done when they come in. If they're not taken they're not found you know within a certain time we do that.

I said well maybe that's it. Maybe that's calmed him down and that's all he needed. She said maybe.

I said blimey. So I said I'd like to come and see him today what I can. I'd already spoken.

She said well if you come between one and three. I said cool. I spoke to my friend.

She said let's go up. I'll drive you up there and we'll go up and see him. Maybe take Vinnie and that'll be exciting for him to see him and everything.

In the end she wasn't up to going today so we didn't go. So it didn't the day didn't kind of go to plan. The thing is the more I look at him on the screen I kind of the more I want to go and see him the more I don't want to go and see him because I can't bring him back here.

Regardless of how he's changed he's you know the thing I know it might sound weird but people's attitudes changed. Those two months that I had in the dog walker's attitudes really changed towards me because I had all these people that were coming up and speaking to me with Vinnie and Vinnie was playing with their dog and that. As soon as I had Logie with me as well they were avoiding.

They were like walking out of the park when they saw us together. It was like walking around and I was trying to sell people like he's okay he's got a muck. I made sure he had a muzzle on at this point.

He's got a muzzle on he can't do anything but people still didn't want to come near him because of his reputation and I don't want to go back to that.

You know I don't I don't really have much contact with people so when I'm even though it's only for a sometimes a few seconds it's still human contact and it's sometimes about all I can handle but it's nice that Vinnie's so friendly with everybody and people are quite friendly to me because of him and I quite like that a little bit and I don't want to I don't want to go back to how it was you know November December and January.

Plus the reality is he is too big for this flat.

This flat is big enough for me it's big enough for Vinnie together but it's not big enough for a big dog. Even with or without Vinnie it's not it's just he just knocks stuff over all the time there's not enough room in here for him. He needs a garden as well it's definitely the kind of dog that needs a garden.

He hasn't got necessarily the best control now of his bladder and stuff as much as like a younger dog would have so although he is house trained he can't always hold it if he's waiting. Well that's how it used to be maybe that's changed as well. It's just I hope someone comes forward and takes him.

I did say to them though you're not going to you know do the worst thing. I'm not going to say it out loud but if no one comes and collects him they said well no we that's the last option it's the last thing we do. It's possible to happen in the future but it's a very we're here because we love dogs that's the only reason and they they're part of PCA but they're they're like a I think they're on their own they've got their own thing and they said we've got a dog that's been here for 18 months still hasn't been collected no one's taken him yet.

So I said oh well what's his name? She said well if you're going to take a dog it'd be loaded wouldn't it? I said oh yeah yeah yeah sure but is it a big dog or small one? She said that'd suit me better. She said it shouldn't really be about the dog's size should it?

It should be about love and caring like okay guilt trip guilt trip so yeah and to be honest whenever I look at him I just remember a friend and I don't want to it's just it's just weird it's like it's almost like it's a chapter I want to close if you know what I mean just but I did say to him if you he's so no one's going to look at his picture not want him he's so pretty and he is just as lovely in person as he is in the

photographs which it's not even a barker I missed I missed that it bark someone knocked on the door all you hear is whoo whoo and that'd be it unless he was left on his own that's when he barked really because he hated being on his own or being on his own so yeah I feel a little bit sad about it but he's I didn't get to see him and I'm not sure if I'm going to not because I don't care because I do care it's just I think it's going to

be too difficult to leave him you know to go and see him and then just leave him it's I don't I'm not sure if I could do it to be honest and then I'm back into a situation where you know he's going to need vet bills I ain't got the money for vet bills and I'm gonna have to be really careful to be able to cover his Finnish stuff I had to cancel my insurance today pet insurance today because that was 67 pound a month so I've got rid of that

and I've just been talking through people that have have dogs as well and they say well you might be better just to put some money aside every month because you're gonna have to pay in excess anyway and it's just it's I suppose it's because you know I paid over a thousand pound in dog insurance pet insurance since I've had Vinnie and I've never used it I don't want to use it because that means that there's something wrong but you can't use it for things like jabs regular jabs or flea treatment

or any things like that it's only it's only there for emergency or for medical procedure you know stuff like that it's not you know he still has to do those regular things anyway which is you know a couple hundred pound a year or whatever so oh well I just had to and that's something I'm gonna do and I won't I'll maybe talk about that another time I've been going through my finances and I spoken I'd already spoken to the main credit card about six months ago now I think it was

maybe less and they agreed for me to pay a hundred pound a month to stop the interest stop the card so I can't use it but pay off a hundred pound a month and then they would review it in six months or something they said so I'm continuing with that one I've not heard anything from them so what I thought is I'll see if I can do the same thing with the other other places so I managed to my other credit card there's only 487 pound or something on that one

but they have agreed for me to pay 10 pound a month until December and then I'll review it again but they had to ask me 1 million questions before before and before accepting that and I said this just like I said why don't you go to they kept trying to get me to go to a financial charity I said because they will then write it all off and you won't see a penny and I don't want that I want to pay it I want to make sure I pay the debts

but I need you to stop the interest and also need you to stop me being able to pay use it to pay for stuff so I used to use that credit card the one with the 500 limit I used that for that was my like emergency credit card so if I didn't have enough money for food or I used it when I had I had to have my tooth extracted so that was like 300 pound or something so that was luckily I had that or that I had that helped towards

it anyway I don't think I had enough on there but it helped towards it so it'll yeah it's that's not I used to use it for groceries there was a period when my debit card wouldn't work online for ordering groceries I don't know why so I started using the credit card and to be fair I forgot I was using it so I was just like ordering stuff online like just you know groceries groceries food but then ordering it on the credit card which which meant it was like the you know

the balance was going up or down whichever way it works and then I drew out money cash money and the interest on that was high so anyway that's boring and I called up the catalog and they were charging me 183 pound a month I managed to get it down to 63 pound so they've stopped the interest they've stopped me because I could still buy I still had like I think I had two and a half thousand pound nearly three thousand pound I could have spent on the cut on on the

catalog still that I could have spent but I didn't because I didn't want to want to you know I didn't want to gain even more but you know there's always things I need but anyway so I called them up and said you need to stop me spending anymore need to cancel the account so I can't spend anything but also need you to stop the interest and the lady was so good like or the man I can't remember I spoke to so many different people I lose track seriously I spoke to

a lot of people in the end they got down to 63 pound a month so 180 so 188 I think it might be 188 down to a 63 something like that and that's ongoing I think they review it after a while but that's ongoing no no that's not reviewed that's 42 months 42 months so 63 pound a month for 42 months and then I called up the oh I called up the water company and the lady there she was brilliant and after going through my finances what I've got going in

what I've got going out and all that stuff she worked out oh where is it oh I've got it written down here I'll read it to you water water water water water right I've got the meter being changed because the meter's broken here's a weird thing yeah they've not they've not been able to read my meter since 2022 because it's broken and it was a smart meter and they could just read it by driving past apparently now I don't understand how it was a smart meter I mean did we have

smart smart meters and nine years ago because no one's come in here to put one in so I think that there's porcupines so but anyway so there's put a new one in bit of start zero there's no way of getting it backtracked to see whether or not I was overcharged but apparently I'm on a quite low usage anyway because I just don't wash that's what she told me so we went through all the details and everything and she basically said what it will be is she's worked out a this isn't

like a definite amount but it's going to be roughly next blimey I can't even read and write it now um wow I really should write more clearly right I've got a £60 payment that I've got to make on the 1st of August and then going forward I think I think going forward there is whatever it comes up as I'm on a low tariff whatever it comes up as whatever the amount is I'm giving me a 50% discount for 15 months so they worked out basically on my last year that'll work

out £176.50 for 15 months so yeah that's kind of so that was good that was that took me hours so I was on the phone for hours and hours this week and then I called up the who was it the yeah the energy supplier for the gas and electric and they said nope nope I said can you help me I said nope and that was kind of it really I didn't want to do anything which was I mean basically all they offered me was if you go through to this and

go through to that and um yeah there's nothing they could do other than outside they just use third party places which you can go to they don't do anything in-house so the water company brilliant even the catalogue brilliant but this this this company didn't they weren't interested in I don't know but they they wouldn't do anything so I think it's one of those things that I think with bills is you've got to pay it anyway and they tell you to call whatever so and then yesterday I think it was I

spoke to Argos which is the it's also a catalogue but it's like an online it's a shop as well I only owe £183 on that one and instead of asking for some kind of to stop the interest or or anything like that I just said I just need you to close close the account stop put a block on me spending anything else because I had three grand I could spend on there so I've only got only spent £183 of that he seemed a bit surprised like why do you want to

stop the credit that's going to affect your credit rating I said look my credit ratings are now gone there is no credit rating it's all it's all gone to poo and he said oh okay so that was done and then I'm looking around what else can I do to make cuts and there's two other things there is the pet insurance and the apple cloud now the apple cloud is that's where I store my recordings when I when I edit them I upload them to the apple cloud and then I can

if I want to I can download them and whatever on the laptop so wherever I am in the world basically which is usually here to be honest but what I looked and I downgraded it from two terabytes which is the max well now it's not maximum they do offer larger ones didn't used to they do now but they're like 60 quid a month or something um it's like 50 terabytes or something so which would to be fair that would hold everything I've got but I decided what I'll do is I'll

downgrade it to the minimum which is 50 gigabytes which is plenty absolutely plenty because once I've done stuff I can then just download it and store it on the hard drive so I don't need to store it on on the cloud and technically you could say it's stored on the cloud anyway because on the podcasts and it's getting to the point where most of them will be on YouTube as well so that's that's gonna save me $8.99 a month it's not a lot but it's it's a little a little a

little saver and called up the the pet insurance at 9am this morning when they opened and they cancelled that so that was $67 a month and that was done so that there's no more payments on that one either I can't see anywhere else where I can make cuts at the moment but I think it's gone quite well as far as it goes it'd be good to sort of bring that amount down for the the main credit card but yeah I was hoping to when I got the catalogue and they said

okay you do this for 42 months now that although that's you know it's a long time it's three and a half years that's similar to what I had with the tax man or the tax not the tax people when I owed a couple of grand in tax I was self-employed I didn't I was self-employed and then I became employed whilst I was self-employed I didn't pay any tax on the money I earned whilst I was employed for the first three four months or something and it all got I didn't really

know what I was doing with it all and it was it was a very simple mistake on my part but it's cost so it might been a I think might have been 1500 I think originally it was 3000 because they were taking next year into consideration but I was like I'm not self-employed anymore it's all finished I you know I closed everything and I was I'd just become unemployed at that point and they said okay so you still owe 1500 and I remember they said we need I think they wanted

a hundred pound a week from me something silly like that like I said I'm living on 30 pound a week they said we still need 100 pound I'm making the number up it was it was quite a ridiculous number and I said I need to speak to someone else they said okay I'll get my manager on the phone and I spoke to the manager and he just started laughing like when I told him they wanted a hundred pound when he when I told him how much I had coming in he's

he's like he said sorry I'm laughing but it's just ridiculous that they were that we were asking you for that much money when you clearly haven't only got a small amount coming in and so I did he set up a I think it was um I think he set up something like five pound a week five pound a week until it was paid off so it went on for quite a few years until it was all paid I don't know what I mean 20 pound yeah it's about four years I

guess isn't it 20 pound a week is a grand a year so it was I'm sure it's about 1400 pound maybe something like that so five pound a week for pretty five years and that started in 2013 2014 rather 14 15 16 17 18 yeah so we're not till about 2018 I remember getting a an email or I got a letter saying you're paid now it's like wow because I didn't notice five pound a week I didn't even notice that going out but it was just great great like whoa it's

a nice way to do it anyway I still managed to talk for ages that wasn't supposed to happen supposed to be a short one I'm not even hungry I've got some food today so I'm gonna have some rice crackers I can't bring myself to say this out loud rice crackers and maybe some hummus hummus and I do like hummus it's weird I do hummus and maybe a tomato and a bit of lettuce and five miles bars blimey okay so that's it really that's what's going on it's been quite a lot

happening the only problem with all this like these little plans I've been doing and talking to people on the phone is I'm a little bit muddled up now about what's what I won't lie to you I'm a little bit confused but what I do know is I can no longer get into any more debt which is good the only way I could get into more debt is if I didn't pay off the Argos because the interest would just start adding up on that but it's such a small amount I know

eventually it'd be if I left it for 10 years it'd be thousands of pounds probably but at the moment it's that'd be the first little thing that I'll chip away at but yeah hmm this is I looked at um I looked and I didn't conquer but I attempted to sort the thing is when I when I put my mind to something I generally sometimes occasionally really kind of get stuck into it and that's what I did with this I've pretty much spent all week doing it I couldn't do it all

in one go because too many places to call had to do a bit of research first and had to kind of see what my rights were in my situation and I've also been um creating videos as well all week so that's another thing I've been doing trying to upload as many create as many videos as I can so I've got I've got over a thousand videos on YouTube now is the reason because the the Canva which I use that's gonna run out in where is it purchase history okay purchase history

that runs out in what Billion and Plans that's the one Billion and Plans 5th of August so I've still got a few weeks in order to do as many of my or you know create videos out of my podcast recordings so I should be able to do all of them so I'm nearly at the end of doing the Deep Sleep Whisper Hypnosis I think I've got number 400 on there which is good and then I will do another I'll do the Relaxing Sleep Hypnosis Daily so there's a couple of hundred

there and then I'll do the Relaxation for Stress Anxiety there's about 200 or so 230 on that one and I can't think off the top of my head what else there is it's kind of yeah so there's there's the there's the Let Me Bore You To Sleep ones but I don't think I'll bother doing those because don't maybe I don't know maybe we'll see because because basically it's still gonna I'll be posting one video an hour instead of putting everything on at the same time posting one an hour and so

I can only that's 24 a day so it's going to be 20 days to for the two you know the those two playlists to be up to be available and I don't if I start adding the Let Me Bore You To Sleep because there's so many I think it's too many it's because if I start adding them everything else will get lost so maybe what I'll do maybe is but I kind of want to because just because it's there then it's another place so you've got a podcast YouTube is probably

easier to find stuff as far as if you're if you want to watch the videos or listen to the videos the playlists are a lot easier to kind of access I think than on the podcast so it's easier to find old stuff because a lot of podcasts only let you see that the the most recent 250 recordings because I do I do a lot of recordings even though I haven't necessarily done a huge amount in the last few weeks it still still adds up so I don't know we'll see we'll

see and then the plan the plan whether I do it or not is that's the question the plan is to yeah the plan is the plan is to I still don't know if I'm going to do it but to make videos of myself talking both for the Let Me Bore You To Sleep and also for the anything else I do and I'd like to instead of doing you know relax hypnosis daily or deep sleep whisper hypnosis or give them labels like that I'll probably just just call it relax just give

it a title and that'll be it I won't bother with playlists or you know for new stuff going forward other than the Let Me Bore You To Sleep I'll stick to this yeah I'll stick to it because I think the Let Me Bore You To Sleep is that's my little baby it's my little it's my little I know Vinnie's my little baby but it's almost something that I've been doing for so long now and I've stuck to it which I'm quite pleased about so but at the same time I do

even though there's there's a times when I think that's it I'm just going to do the Let Me Bore You To Sleep nothing else but there's still that part of me that wants to do other stuff as well there's that still that part of me wants to sit in front of the camera or the microphone and just talk but you know do something hypnotic or do a body scan and just you know that's that's just yeah that's how it is but at the same time I don't want to be I

don't want to get stuck into um trying to balance or trying to juggle lots of different types of podcasts so I think what I'll do is I'll stick with this one Let Me Bore You To Sleep going forward that is and then if I decide to do a whisper recording that's what I'll do or if I decide to do a insomnia session hypnosis session or if I decide to talk about a you know a different subject then that's what I'll do so that's that's kind of where I am with that

for now but of course I mean not not that it's like me to change my mind but it's possible hmm so I also saw my dad the other day did I tell you saw my dad I haven't seen him for ages he's got his beard so beautiful such a big just white pure white beard like snow honestly it's like snow and I said it twice just to just prove how much like snow it was and that was that was nice to see them see him and my stepmum but I ended

up having jacket potato and salad for dinner blimey and my dad had a fried breakfast I said it's not fair how come you you're nearly 80 or 79 you're nearly 80 and you can have a fried breakfast and I have to eat healthily it's not fair I'm only I'm only 40 he looked at me like don't care so yeah he just does what he wants I don't know if he's he's he's allowed to eat but he chooses to and he nothing's going to stop him but there's nothing I think his

wife would to be fair so I think he is allowed as far I mean um medically wise I mean but still I mean nothing's stopping me either but what happened I started becoming sensible in my old age mildly just very mildly sensible minutely sensible because yeah I'm never going to be completely sensible a little bit sensible you know I'm taking trying to take control and not take control but try to manage stuff that's got a little bit out of hand in my life and cut down on sugar I haven't had

any sugar for over a month now and not had my tea or coffee even had no fizzy drinks had no chocolate for at least two over two weeks now not even one bit because I still had the occasional chocolate bar had nothing for over two weeks maybe three weeks and we was in this in this um this place where we was eating this cafeteria restaurant cafeteria place the whole of the counter was a big glass front was full of cakes cakes after cake after cake and I can't I wanted to

everything and I can't eat any of it not any of it not until I get myself sorted out you know I got I don't even know where my blood test is I got a got another test I think it's September just to see how I've got on because I told them I'm you know putting some work in and trying to get get my cholesterol and my sugar levels down so they said I'll test you again and then see you go from there so hopefully hopefully that'll be groovy honestly I wanted

to go around the counter I'll just say can I just have a look at that cake and just rub my face in it this big chocolate cake with strawberries in the middle oh oh man oh well after we had dinner I think I think my dad was uh manipulating the situation there I didn't realize that he's because we'd already had this conversation as well I can't have anything I'm not gonna have any cake and my stepmom said well she she might she's not sure my dad said I am but then

after we'd eaten our dinners he said oh go and go for a walk so they walked around it's like this uh plant places like plants and stuff hence the plant place like you know places where you can buy plants I don't know how to explain that even better than that really and we're there for about 10 minutes he stretches his arm says oh I think I'm gonna have some cake now so he kind of I think he knew it'd be easier for me just to go home rather than sit there

and watch him eat a cake because he was determined to have some cake but he kind of he knew that once I was up I had my coat on and I'd go home so they said oh let's go back and have some cake I said all right see you later then so I came home and they went and had some cake but it was quite nice that he wouldn't make I don't care if he'd eat cake in front of me but I think he probably I mean yeah he probably felt

more relaxed eating it knowing that I wasn't going to grab it at any time because oh man oh cake it's not weird normally not that bothered I like cake but I'm not like yeah now so that's me done for today I will edit this in the morning because it's too late to do it now it's nearly 10 o'clock I left things a little bit late today it's just how it's happened sorry I need to take him for for a wee wee and then I need to get myself some food and

so what I'll do is I'll upload this in the morning edit and upload it and then tomorrow I will do a Q&A Friday and I'll edit and upload that on Saturday morning so thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve to be happy be gentle with yourself lots of love bye
