Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Well that was a good start wasn't it? I've just started and I've already sent myself half to sleep. I really must have a boring voice.
My name is Jason Newland and please only listen when you can. Safely close your eyes. I tend to be doing these every day for some reason.
I don't know why. I need to sort that out. I'm getting a little bit carried away these days.
Doing too much, too many recordings. I can't remember the last time. Hey Vinnie, come on.
Oh really? Man, I've just come out of the website. I was uploading stuff on YouTube and it's just come out. So I put Vinnie into the bedroom and he's now shouting at me.
I put the light on. The curtains are drawn so he can go onto the windowsill. The windows open so he can jump out and the top windows open so he can, you know, he can see everything, say hello to anything, anyone and it's either that or just have him barking the whole time that I'm making the recording and once he starts going he just doesn't stop.
It's like a, I don't know, I'm trying to think, like wind up some wind up toy. So, what was I going to say? I've done quite a few of these, Let Me Bore You To Sleep, quite a few in a row. I don't know how many days, I'm kind of interested now.
I wonder how many I've done. Should we just find out? Okay, let's have a look. So I get my little pad, get a little pad and a little pen.
So let's work it, we'll work backwards, which I was finding a lot easier than working forwards. Backwards is definitely my, my mode. So 24th of May, so we've got 100 and 1131.
So today's 1132. 25th of May, which is today. So 24th of May, yesterday, 1130, 1129, 1128, 27, 1126, 125, 1124, 23, 1122, 1121, 1120.
So that's 1234589, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. So I'm just interested. I don't know.
It's not really interesting, but I am. So I don't know, I'm just, it feels like I've been doing it for a while now. So I'm going to wonder if I've done a whole month.
I don't know if I have, but we'll work it out. So 1131, that was yesterday. 1130, that's the 23rd.
Okay. So 23rd of May. So that's three days in a row.
1129, 22nd of May. That's four days in a row. 1128 was the 21st of May.
So that's five days in a row. 1127 was the 20th. So that's six days in a row.
The 19th was 1126, 19. So then 1125 was the 18th. 1124 was the 17th.
1123 was the 16th. Prostate test results. That was last Friday.
Not yesterday, but the Friday before. 1122 was the 15th. So 1121 was the 14th.
And 1120 was the 13th. So done 13 days in a row. It's not bad, is it? Okay.
So 1119, 18, 1117, 1160, 115, 1114, 1115, 17, 18. Nope. I'm doing it the wrong way.
The wrong way. Okay. So 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.
No. So 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 1109, 1108, 1107, 1106, 1105, 1104, 1103. So if I get down to 1103, it means I've done 13 in a row.
I'm not sure if I'm going to make it, but it's so exciting. Are you as excited as I am? Nope. So 12.
1119. Okay, that's good. 1118 is the 11th.
So good so far. So good so far. And then, okay, I made some... Oh, no, I uploaded some ASMR whispers then.
So I just have to go down a little bit to see. ASMR. Oh, yeah.
Right. Q&A Friday. 117.
10th. Yeah, we're still on track. 10th of May.
Oh, Lord Bag of Poo. Jason, it's bedtime story time. Wow.
So I uploaded some of those as well. So let's just skip through that. Let's skip through that.
How many did I get for that? Oh, I'm losing track of... What's what? I'm losing track. Oh, okay. Right.
So some of these images are good. I like the images. Right.
So blimey, I uploaded a lot of stuff that isn't, you know, these are bedtime story times. I've uploaded a lot of them. But it was probably like over a couple of days or a day.
Just trying to make the playlists so that people can find stuff easier, you know. Okay, right. Come on.
Right. We're nearly there. Nearly there.
Nearly there. Nope. Wow.
That's a lot. And I thought, oh, blimey. Okay, now I'm back.
I'm back. So Let Me Bore You To Sleep. 116 was the ninth of May.
Yeah, we're still on track. And I got someone liked one of those as well. Wow.
That's unusual. What's the next one? So I'll be uploading boring, sleepy, boring objects the day before that. Come on.
Come on. And I made playlists as well. So that's taken a lot of time.
Come on, this good images are recordings are awful, but the images are good. I really don't suggest listening to them. They're really bad.
No, they're not. They're not really bad. But they are pretty awful.
They're not awful. They're just rubbish. Okay, so this is 115.
115 is the eighth of May. We're still on track. Oh my goodness.
Okay, and then I uploaded my let me boil your pain away ones. So that was the day before that supplier. I haven't.
I just went through a little period. I was just trying to keep it get everything up to date, you know. Okay, so this is 114.
I used to be rude. That's the title of that one. That was the seventh of May.
Yep, still on track. Seventh of May. 113.
Working on website six. Six of May. And then 100 and 1112.
Sea Cadets. Fifth of May. We're still on track.
Wow. 111 pet peeves. The fourth of May.
Ooh, Q&A Friday. This is third of May. 111.
So that's that's correct. And then 1109. So 1109.
70s TV, second of May. And Vinnie made a new friend. 1108.
I think that was noodles, wasn't it? I think so. And that was the first of May. So I have done one.
I've made a recording every day. I've done a Let Me Bore You To Sleep every day of this month. Without fail.
I know, right? Yeah. Pat on the back. I agree.
I can't remember the last time I was this dedicated to anything. So 30th of April. How many days was in April though? Because if it was 31 days and I've missed a day.
Let's go backwards. April, there was 30 days. So 30th of April.
30 1107. I tried eating. I tried exiting out all the thoughts.
Okay, that was a bit bit of a rude title. Number 1106. I thought I'd lost Vinnie.
I remember that one. 29th of April. And then 1105.
Stop asking me about the stats. 28th of April. Yeah.
Wow. I wonder how far back this goes off. This is me.
Yeah, it's not nearly 30. It's 28 days now. 1104.
27th of April. Was it I mentioned you in this one? What? Don't know what that's about. Q&A Friday, 26th of April.
Yep. 26 April. That's 1103.
So that's 30 days. So we've got 31, 32, 33, 34, 1101, 1100, 111. It's 1099, isn't it? Okay.
So I wonder if there's any more after that Q&A Friday 1103. So that's a 30 days done. 25th of April.
1102. Molly, Molly, Molly, Molly, Molly. Molly, Molly, Molly, Molly.
Joined my Facebook group 1101. And that was the 23rd of April. For some reason, it's only got the date on one of them.
That's very strange. In fact, one of them hasn't even got an image. Oh, well.
20, 23rd. No, no, surely not. No.
Oh, there's a break. There's a break. So I didn't do anything on the 26th of April, on the 24th of April.
Damn. Damn. I was so excited.
But then there's a break. 23rd of April. Then there's another break.
19th of April. And then there's another break or 18th of April. And this one doesn't even give the date.
That's weird. All right. So I wasn't input 15th of April, 16th, 17th, 18th.
Okay. 15th. So I think I was fairly.
Okay. All right. Well done.
So yeah, it goes back April. So I did quite a few in April as well. So I did 31.
I was so no 30. Yeah, 31. So done 31 days in a row, including today.
Man. I mean, I mean, you could argue, well, is that really worth getting excited about? 31 days. Come back when you've done a year.
Well, a year is a long time. You know, I don't I don't know. I'm not sure if it's possible to do 365 days in a row.
I'm not sure. I really don't know. There's a lot of screaming downstairs.
What's going on? Sounds like a dog. So I'm gonna try and do my my dog thing whistle thing to try and stop him from barking. Because if he hears stuff, he barks.
Sound like a dog squealing, you know, when like, maybe wanting to go out or something. It's hard to tell. It could just be one of the neighbors waiting to use the toilet or something.
So done 31 days. So I'm quite pleased with that. Yeah, I think yeah, I am.
Yeah. I am. One day.
This is hard, though, because you know, I'd like to add up at the end of the year. The stats just I can get the overall stats for the year. Obviously, it's easy, but for each of the two podcasts, but I'd like to find out how much well, you know, how many individual recordings got.
So how much did the first one of the year get? How much did the third one of the year get? How much, you know, all the way through and totally up at the end of the year? Just that's quite a tough job, though. I don't think it's I don't know if it's even possible. So let me boil your sleep.
Since October 690,414 plays. It's not bad. 131,844 this month.
So yeah, it's it's getting getting more. Every month's getting better. October was a lot higher, but that's because I uploaded everything in October.
Unlike YouTube, which if you upload everything, you get less plays. With some days when I do a podcast, when I upload all my all my stuff, I get more plays. And yeah, so what I was going to talk about today is a brooch.
I I highlighted the subject very slightly yesterday in my Q&A Friday. But it is it's a fairly well, it's kind of a big deal, I guess. Health wise is I am pre found out yesterday that I'm pre premenstrual, pre diabetic, that's it pre diabetic.
So, and I said it yesterday, it's not even a joke, I actually thought any if it's pre diabetic, as everyone that hasn't got diabetes, but it's not. Apparently, it's actually means I'm on the cusp of diabetes to though not die, not the first diabetic because that would very much would have showed up by now if I was diabetic one, but so diabetic one, the diabetes one, if I had diabetes one on diabetes, anyway.
So the blood sugar in the sugar in my blood is way too was too high.
So I've got an appointment with the doctor next month to discuss it but also I might have to see a specialist diabetic nurse or something to discuss lifestyle changes and stuff like that. Now, I noticed there's things I can do myself already, which is cut down on the sugar. I mean, it's I do have too much sugar.
I don't drink coke anymore. But I do have sugar in every every time I have a cup of tea. I have about 45 of them a day.
So if I cut that down, I don't know. I only have one sugar in my tea. So I don't have 45 cups a day.
I wonder if there are people that literally, they take literally what I say, please try not to. And I do. Yeah, I mean, I've kind of got ever since I had my tooth out in January, and all the hassle with that, I stopped eating chocolate for a while, for a while.
And then gradually, I kind of got back into it. And yeah, I've been eating chocolate again. Not at the levels that I used to.
I'll be I don't I don't eat like, I'm trying to think am I lying to myself? No, I don't. I used to get there was times when I would get, you know, 10% of my grocery delivery would be chocolate bars, you know, Kit Kats, crunchies, and I'd have like two, maybe three a day, maybe two a day, I don't know. Maybe more.
But especially at weekends, can of coke, chocolate, cakes, you know, you name it, I'd have it. But I don't do that anymore. To the point where sometimes mini kitchen looking into the cupboard, just dreaming of the old days when there'd be cakes in there.
You know, and whether it be chocolate eclairs in the fridge, and I could just stuff it in my mouth and just heavenly. Or it'd be like a multiple, multiple bags of biscuits, chocolate ones, ginger nuts, fig rolls, you know, just a huge amounts and then there'd be then there'd be plastic tubs full of cakes, like chocolate brownies and biscuits or cookies and things like that. And just want it to be a big assortment or maybe chocolate Swiss roll fingers little ones.
But now I open my fridge, and there's some milk, there's some margarine. And there's three, two bottles, three bottles of milk, there's two, two and a half or whatever. And there is a there is a crunchy in there, which I bought a few days ago.
And there's one gingery biscuit chocolate biscuit thing, which is small thing. And I've got less than half a packet of plain biscuits. You know, the ones that you have free with a cup of tea, not digestives, just the plain whatever they are.
And I know they have sugar in them. Of course, in a chocolate sugar and all that stuff, but I'm nowhere near what I used to be like. Yet.
But I do feel it when I eat, like the other day, I had so I've got frozen meals in the in the, in the freezer, which is a good place to keep them. And so a microwave I've started eating like one of them a day in the evening. A couple of days ago, I had I think it was a shepherd's pie.
But I had four slices of bread because it's got a fresh loaf of bread in force. And I was bloated. And I felt I felt ill.
Like I didn't feel well at all. And I was like, Why is this? And then I realized that bread is not a good thing for people anywhere near the diabetic scale, for some reason. So I'm going to cut that out.
Not not eat, or at least not eat it with other food. And it's okay in a sandwich form. And what I did is I went to chat GPT, my little friend, my sidekick.
Okay, verify you're human. Just clicking the button doesn't really verify though, does it? So I asked, this is what I asked. And please give me a pre-diabetic diet.
It needs to be based on a small budget. And I'll be shopping from Asda supermarket. So this is okay, creating a pre-diabetic diet on a budget is both feasible and beneficial for holding for managing blood sugar levels.
Here is a practical meal plan that you can follow along with a shopping list that you can find at Asda. So pre-diabetic diet plan, breakfast, there's two, so I'm guessing this is options not two different meals, because then I'm just going to be putting weight on oatmeal with berries. So ingredients rolled oats, fresh or frozen berries, blueberries, or strawberries, a dash of cinnamon.
Where do you get cinnamon from? I don't have any cinnamon. I like cinnamon. I love cinnamon.
In fact, it's one of my favorite things in the whole world. Now just remembered, because you have it on top of a, is it apple crumble? Or maybe and it just changes. It's mixed with the sugar, the sugar.
So yeah, I mean, perhaps I can't have apple crumble anymore. But I haven't had any apple crumble for years. For years, I tell you for years.
Cinnamon's nice. And it says preparation, cook the oats with water, or a small amount of milk, top with berries and cinnamon. So I need to get more information on how to do that.
I mean, at the moment, I do have oats, but it's, it's Redibrec, which is it? I don't know. What is the what is the sugar content of Redibrec for diet? We've used the government. Oh, look, here we go.
This is actually a diabetes website comes up. Often held as the most important meal of the day. A decent breakfast for diabetes certainly has a range of health benefits.
So it's got all these. Oh, so as a picture of breakfast cereals, but no Redibrec. The breakfast of champions.
When it comes to breakfast time, cereal remains a popular, convenient and speedy choice. With the choice on supermarket shelves growing over the years, it can be tricky to choose the healthiest option. To make things easier, we have chosen 10 well known cereals and looked closely at the nutritional value to see how they perform in terms of sugar, fat and fiber.
But first, let's find out a little more about what breakfast for diabetes, we should be on lookout. So I haven't got diabetes, I'm pre so what I'm thinking if I just do a diabetic diet, then it can only help me. And I do need to lose fat, which probably means losing weight.
Some would say well, obviously, but you know, I don't know. I quite like the idea of maybe still being the same weight, same weight, but without losing you know, just with no fat. But that would probably mean having a different body.
Someone else's body. So Jordan's crunchy oat granola, sugar 28.5 20 or 20 or 20 8.5 grams per gram. No, I don't know.
So what does that mean? Is that the percentage? 28.5? No, it can't be. Right, okay, Nestle shredded wheat. So this is this is basically okay, so sugar is not good.
So Jordan's crunchy oat granola, fruit and nut is it's a no no, according to this. Nestle shredded wheat is low in everything. It's low in sugar, fat, saturated fat, and salt.
But it does have 362 calories, which is I don't know if that's good or not. I don't know. Well, it's still lower than the other one.
Kellogg's all brown sugar 18. So it's quite high in sugar. Weetabix.
It's not as good as the shredded wheat, but it is still lower than the others. 4.4 sugar. 0.7 sugar.
Mind you, I do have shredded wheat. But it tastes really good with sugar on them, don't they? That's the problem. Ready break.
Oh, okay. Unfortunately, that Oh, oh, right. sugar level is low as one saturated fats 1.2 salt 0.03. So that's really good.
However, according to this, and it's the diabetes.org.uk. So it's a diabetes society. According to this 8.7 fat, which is highlighted, it's not it's not red, it's not in the red mark, but it is in the orange, which is, you know, I mean, Jordan's crunchy oat granola is 28. Oh, no, it's 13.8. Shredded wheat is the fat is 2.2. Kellogg's all brown is 3.5. Weetabix is 2.0. Ready break 8.7.
So bearing in mind, I've got to kind of deal with high cholesterol and sugar levels in my blood.
So I need to kind of focus on sugar and fat intake. Oh, sorry, ready breaks gonna have to go then. Mind you, once a day is not too bad, is it? I don't have sugar on it.
See, I don't I don't have sugar. I don't. It's amazing with sugar, though.
But I don't have sugar on my ready break. I have fruit, fruit, dried fruit. That's what I have on my ready break.
I'm not sure if it's the right fruit, but I think, you know, Sainsbury's whole grain brown flakes. Wow, sugar 16.3. I wouldn't have thought that. Just I don't know because I don't taste nice brown flakes.
No offense to anyone who likes brown flakes and definitely, you know, Sainsbury's. They're brilliant if you like them. But I never really enjoyed brown flakes without sugar on them with sugar.
They're lovely, but, you know, they kind of they are they are high in fiber 13.8 in fiber, but sugar 16.3 low in fat 2% 0.4% saturated fats low in salt. Well, 0.78 salt. Apparently that's orange.
So that's not low. Oh, Scott's porridge oats. Sugar 1% 1 or 1 whatever that is.
Fat is 8.0. Saturated fats 1.5 salts trace. I had no idea what that means. That just means nothing's been added to it.
It's just the standard. I'm guessing that's what it means. What does trace mean? Come on.
What does trace mean? Several meanings to follow a path or something drawn out tracking. Okay, science and mathematics. In science, particularly chemistry, a trace refers to a very small quantity of a subject of a substance.
So there's a trace of it is a little bit tiny little bit. Okay, fair enough. Alpen, no added sugar.
That's another one. I like Alpen with sugar. Well, it didn't.
The thing is, you got the no added sugar, but you don't have the with lots of sugar. It's just original Alpen. And Alpen no added sugar.
And I do believe that's the one in the blue box because I don't buy it. The one in the brown box is the original. Oh, oh, oh.
Oh, man. Yeah, that that was. I love Alpen.
There was a time when I used to put sugar on it. But that was in the 90s. And I couldn't do no harm.
I couldn't do it. I couldn't. Whatever I ate would just it would burn off within about 10 minutes.
Because I had such a high metabolism. Couldn't put weight on. I tried but I just couldn't.
And then I did. I tried to take it off and I couldn't. So Alpen no sugar, fat contents too high, sugar contents too high, even with no added sugar.
Country Crisp. Wow, sugar is very high in that one. 18.7 14.7 fat.
Salt is good level. Kellogg's fruit and fiber, which I was thought was supposed to be like super duper healthy. And according to this, the diabetes.org.uk, not my own personal opinion, don't sue me.
Sugar is 24. So it's in the red fat is in the orange saturated fats in the orange and salt 6, 3.5 and 1. So what do they come up with the findings? We've used the government color coding system used by many companies to help customers make informed choices. Green is low, amber, medium, red, high.
Two of the breakfast cereals, shredded wheat and Weetabix were all green, meaning they're low in sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt. Shredded wheat and Weetabix, were they all green? I don't remember any of them, any two being all green. Oh, they were.
They were. So Weetabix, isn't it ironic? Well, maybe not ironic. Weetabix is perhaps the healthiest breakfast cereal to eat.
Hasn't not the top for fiber though, but is a top like as far as being the lowest on all the other levels. Calories, they're all pretty much. Yeah, it's there in the low end of the calories, but they're all kind of 300 plus per 100 grams.
So I mean, if you think we got three meals a day and we're supposed to have so 1,500 calories, I don't know. So Weetabix and shredded wheat just tastes better with sugar on them. I mean, I've always, you need sugar on them.
Well, I've always needed sugar on them in order to make them work. For me, that's like a car without petrol. If you don't have sugar on them, what am I supposed to do? You know, it's just like they're tasteless.
They don't taste really. I mean, I was about to say don't really taste of anything, but we know what tasteless means. Okay.
Wow. Harsh. Harsh.
So what was I gonna say? So yeah, so I guess if I change my diet to have, I've already gotten this, I've already got shredded wheat. And Weetabix are easy to get. So if I do that, and then add the what's it, you know, the fruit that they recommend in.
Where is it? Okay, so I add blueberries or strawberries. So maybe have that. It also says whole grilled toast with avocado.
Ingredients whole grain toast, avocado, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Preparations mash avocado, add a squeeze of lemon juice and season with salt and pepper spread on toast. Is it me or does that sound quite nice? What does it sound like? Okay, I've got this thing in my head.
Where I don't know where I got it from. Is you don't add salt. You know, it's like you don't have sugar, you don't add salt, you don't add anything.
And I've always kind of be like that apart from with the sugar bit. I've always been quite generous with sugar, but don't add salt to anything. Apart from chips, like forget not fish and chips, but I go to a chip shop, which isn't that often.
And I'd have salt and vinegar on them. But outside of that situation, I don't add salt to anything. So if I have a boiled egg, I don't add salt or pepper.
If I have a meal, I sit down and have a meal, I never ever add salt. I've never bought salt and put it into a little salt shaker, you know, little thing with a white lid and the pepper with a, I don't know, it's got a white lid as well, I don't know. I've never ever bought that stuff.
I've never had a little jar of vinegar ever in my life, in my home. I've got, I've got a tub of sugar, which I, of salt rather, which I can't remember quite why I bought it. I just, it's handy to have.
I mean, sometimes the neighbours ask, have you got any salt? And I'll answer, in what form do you want it? They said, well, salt form. I said, okay. So it's like, you know, as in the past, I've had little sachets of salt I've stolen from pubs and not stolen, but just accidentally put into my pocket, you know, I've been in McDonald's or in a place like that.
And I just take the condiments. I used to collect them years ago, which is always sad. I've never been one to add salt.
However, oh yeah, because I know some people get upset by that. You haven't tasted the food yet. I've cooked the food and you're adding salt.
You're changing the taste before you've even tasted it. So for those of you that actually do that, stop it. Okay.
I've always been, well, since I was a little kid, loved tomato sauce. Now I don't have tomato ketchup, probably is the best proper terminology. Heinz, of course.
And I used to put it on anything I could. And I realized that it just improved most things. You know, even a roast dinner.
I'm not talking about over the whole thing, but you mix tomato ketchup into mashed potato. It's just a, it's like a work of art. I mean, you're painting.
So you make a nice pink mashed potato and then you, you know, maybe you spread it over the sausages or whatever's on the dinner plate. And yeah, so I like that, but salt, vinegar, no. Salt and pepper, rather.
No, no, never been one for that. But I have been told off a few times. Not these days, but when I was younger, when I was, you know, when I was at the age where older people thought they could tell me what to do, bless them.
I, they used to moan and say, why are you doing that? Why are you putting tomato sauce on? You're ruining it. Okay. I didn't put it onto your plate, did I? That would be ruining it for you.
If you don't like tomato ketchup, I put it on my plate. And if you watch me carefully, you're going to see that I'm putting it in my mouth and chewing and going yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum. Does it look like it's ruined? Now my granddad didn't like me talking to him like that.
So, you know, it didn't happen too often. But I remember there's one sweet, people are so, not people, some people, some people, including myself probably at times, very limited. And I know I am probably the most limiting, limited person ever sometimes.
But when I was in this shared house and we were eating together, and it was really a case of like, why are you putting tomato ketchup on your dinner? You've not tasted it yet. You know, that is, it's almost like there's, do people read the same book? Is there a book of how to be like that kind of personality? That's a good idea. That's a good idea.
How to, how to be annoying. How to be uptight and annoying. I should write that book.
I'd be quite good at that, I think. Yeah. Wow.
Anyway, so one time, one of the people in there, because we took turns cooking, and everyone dreaded it when it was my turn. And so the only thing they had to do, all they could really do to prepare is make sure there's enough toilet paper in the house. So I, I was sitting there ready for my dinner and the bloke who cooked it, put it onto the table.
And it was, I forget the name of it. So basically tortilla chips or whatever with cheese, chili mangy, I don't know what it is, but, and you basically, you can eat it with your hand, you can pick up the things with your hands. Well, I cut through because I had a knife and fork.
I cut through my bit or spoon and I took my bit and put it onto my plate. The one who cooked it got the right amp. It's finger food.
It's finger food. He stood on a chair waving his little wand around. It's finger food, I tell you.
You're supposed to eat it with your fingers. I said, well, I might well be eating it with my fingers off my plate. I'm not going to be taking it off of someone else, off the middle bit where other people have been touching it.
And bits of bogey and whatever else is on their fingers and under their fingernails is crumbled onto the other stuff. That's grim. But you know, I've taken my bit.
That's enough. And he said, no, but it's finger food. I was like, okay, in that case, why didn't you come out with just one big, massive cup of juice and we could all just pass it around and drink out of it, share our saliva with each other? No, that's not the same.
He kind of is, mate, kind of is. Kind of is the same. Kind of is.
Why are you peeling yourself like that? I said, I don't know. Why are you waving your hands under the table like that? No one can see me do this. I can see you do it, but no one else can.
That's not the point. I wish you didn't. Why did you have to tell everyone? It doesn't matter.
It's weird that whenever that you do that voice, you wave your hands together like angrily. I don't. So you do it again.
I know. I can't stop it. It's almost like it's part of a personality flaw.
You can only do that voice if you wave your hands and push them together and your arms flaying them around like some strange young man. I don't know what you're talking about. You do it again.
Yeah, but you've got your hands on your knees. Yeah. Try and talk like that without your hands on your knees.
Yeah, see, still talking like that. Oh, oh, that's because it's your voice, isn't it? Yeah, it's my voice. Oh, I feel we've kind of come to a cul-de-sac a little bit.
Kind of come to a dead end. I don't know what to do next. Yeah, me neither.
It's a bit of a weird ending, really, isn't it? It's not the ending of the recording. It's just it's the end of this conversation, but. Oh, I quite enjoyed seeing you again.
I know. We haven't spoken for years, have we? How are you getting on? You still working in telecoms? No, no, I don't do that anymore. How are you doing now? I'm a bus driver.
How are you? Do you like it? No. Why do you say no like that? What don't you like about it? I don't like driving buses. Why do you do it then? I need to earn money.
There's other ways of earning money. Name one. OK, you could work in a factory.
There's a factory work around where you are. Name two. OK, you could.
There's I think there's jobs going in the post office, actually. There's another there's a job advertised in the bakery, the local bakery. I don't know if it's full time or part time.
Name four. No, this is silly. It's not a game show.
So. Thank you for listening. Chicken salad for lunch.
Vegetable soup. Now, my problem with soup. I've got a big problem with soup.
It's not food. That's where the problem lies. I've never, ever, ever in my life.
Well, as an adult anyway, in my memory, I don't remember everything. Who would want to? But. In my memory, I've never had a bowl of soup.
And been. Never felt full. And when I say a bowl of soup, I mean without anything else, without any croutons, without any toast, without any bread, without any cream crackers, without even, I don't know, cheese straws or any of the things that you could like accompany with the.
Soup. There's a few different things you can have with the soup. So, yeah, if I have a few slices of bread, I could be full up if I toast or if I had, you know.
Whatever. Yeah, I could fill myself up, but it wouldn't be just the soup because ultimately, it's let me think liquid. It's basically liquid, lumpy liquid.
So I know. I mean, I guess really a broth would be better because a broth is, I know a broth is pretty much a soup, but it's a meal in the soup. And the problem with this is no potatoes is there.
In this diet, no potatoes. I love potatoes. Admittedly, I don't eat them.
So it's fine. I'm not going to miss them. So I don't really eat potatoes, but there's no potatoes on here.
Like a soup with potato in it would be lovely. But it's saying here ingredients mixed, mixed vegetables, carrots, celery, onions, tomatoes, vegetable stock and herbs. Are you saying build it myself? Build the soup myself as opposed to just buying a tin.
I've never built a bowl of soup in my life. Preparation, saute vegetables, add stock and simmer until cooked. Season with herbs.
Saute. And OK, that's just another word for cook, I think slowly. So if I remember correctly, or then there's the chicken salad, grilled chicken briest, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, cucumber, olive oil and vinegar.
Vinegar? Vinegar? Really? Why would you put vinegar on a salad? No, thanks. Preparation, slice grilled chicken and mix with greens, tomatoes and cucumber dressed with olive oil and vinegar. It wouldn't be normal vinegar, would it? Like the stuff you have on chips, would it? Really? No, it wouldn't, would it? So that's for lunch.
So breakfast, lunch, dinner. I'm going to be doing this next week, by the way. So maybe not until Thursday, because that's when I get paid, but I'm going to be doing this.
I am. I'm starting. I'm going to start eating better, walking more, exercising.
You better believe it, baby. I am. So dinner.
So I guess this would be the evening meal. I don't know what that is. I know what steamed broccoli is.
I just don't know what that is. Quinoa. Ingredients, salmon fillets, broccoli, lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper.
And then you've got preparation, baked salmon with lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook quinoa according to package instructions. See? Even ChatGPT, with all the knowledge from the internet, you know, millions and millions and millions and pages, doesn't know what it is.
Just, it's like, I'll just cook according to the package instructions. Doesn't know what it is either. See? Called it out.
And the other option for dinner. Oh, come on, there's got to be more than two options. This is stir fried vegetables with tofu.
Wow, I'll be all day looking forward to eating that. Oh, you're so excited. Yeah, it's nearly six o'clock.
Why are you excited? Oh, I'm looking forward to my evening meal. What are you having? Tofu. Yeah, tofu mixed with vegetables.
Mmm. Wow. I've, trust me, I've eaten tofu before.
It's, but I don't mind. I don't care. I mean, a lot of things I eat, I don't really enjoy eating anyway.
So I don't eat food for pleasure really. But because a lot of time I just eat because I have to, because I get hungry. The only things I enjoy eating is like cake, chocolate, baked salmon.
Okay, so I'm baked salmon. Stir fried vegetables. But that's quick though, isn't it? But I would need to get a fryer, like a wok.
Is it a wok you use? Do they still exist? Snacks. So that's, I'll look into that. I'll look more deeply into that one.
So snacks, that's the, this is the more important one, because this is what I'm going to be eating all day long. Every hour, I think you can eat a snack every hour, every half an hour, which probably is not the truth, is it? Snacks, nuts and seeds. Wow.
Almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds. Now I've done this before. I've been a vegetarian before.
I've even been a vegan before. And I've eaten quite healthily in the past. I wouldn't say that I'm like hugely unhealthy now.
Eating wise, because you know, I don't, well, yeah, I don't need like loads of fried food. But then, you know, eating something out of the freezer, apart from it being cold. No, eating something out of the freezer, it's probably quite a few additives to those ready meals.
So, yeah, fresh fruit, apples, pears, or a handful of berries. And then Greek yogurt, plain with a dizzle of honey and sprinkle nuts or seeds, of nuts or seeds. You know what they've missed out? Drinks.
They've missed out drinks. So what can I drink? What can I drink? It doesn't tell me. I don't say water.
I know water, obviously water is fine. I think that's pretty low in, it's quite uncalorific. But what am I allowed to drink? Uh, so if I go to, not Asda, Aldi, Asda, one of them anyway.
Oats, rolled oats, berries, whole grain bread. I'm not going to eat any bread. So I'm going to leave that alone.
Probably going to, right, tofu. I'm still looking forward to eating. I'm just going to be dreading it, aren't I? The only thing out of all of that, that sounds even mildly appealing.
Oatmeal and berries. Yeah, that sounds okay. Chicken salad.
You know what? For the lunch, chicken salad or vegetable soup. I'd be happy. I like vegetables.
So vegetable soup sounds good. But it sounds better if it had potatoes, but it doesn't. And so I'll look into that.
There might be, I mean, I don't know if there might be some tin soups that don't have any preservatives in, but the fact that a tin is specifically there to preserve something, it may well have preservatives in it. And baked salmon, no, doesn't appeal to me. I like, maybe, but I think I'm just going to have to experiment and play around with it.
Because this isn't like two different meals, is it? You don't have the baked salmon and then the stirred fried vegetables. It's like one or the other, isn't it? Or do you have the chicken salad and the vegetable soup? And in the morning, you have the oatmeal, berries and the whole grain toast with avocado. That's quite a lot.
I'm not a big eater, you know, I don't eat. I'm a big eater as in I'm big and I eat. I don't shrink when I eat.
But I do, I don't eat a huge amount in one go. I've never been into quantity so much, you know. Not really.
When I fall in love, it will be forever. So yeah, I'm going to give that a go next week at some point when I can. And my plan is to walk to the supermarket.
So maybe I'll go to the supermarket. Yeah, because I'm thinking I want to try and do a long, I mean, like a really proper long walk, like 10 miles or something every day. It makes sense to take Vinnie with me.
But at the same time, if I do it in the summer, because we're coming up to the summer now, it's going to be too hot for him. I can handle the heat. Generally, it's not really a huge deal.
And it's never that hot here. We occasionally is we do have really hot days and I wouldn't go out in it. But 99% of the time, it's not too hot to go out.
I personally find that there are those times when it is like, oh, I've never I've never let the weather stop me from really doing anything. Apart from when it's raining, and too windy or too hot or too cold. Other than that, thunderstorms as well.
Ice and snow. Other than that, I don't let the weather affect me at all. Because I don't think we should we shouldn't be a slave to the weather.
Fog, I don't know, not not not a big fan of fog. Not a big fan of fog. Because, but other than that, when it's too windy, I don't mind a bit of wind.
But if it's too windy, you know, not do we get, we don't really get huge amounts of wind where I live anyway. I don't mean in my house. There's plenty of wind in my pants.
But we don't get a lot of really strong winds. I mean, parts of the country get it. I guess the flatter the part that the flatter the country is, the more wind can build up between trees, I guess really, that's kind of what it's doing, isn't it? If it's kind of at the ground kind of level, the more it can build without being blocked.
Because it slows it down, doesn't it? I don't know if it's true. It might be true. It sounds like it could be real to me.
Isn't it weird after all is talking about pre diabetic diet plan and looking into it and studying with you? See, I'm, I was gonna do all this anyway. So I might as well do it while I talk to you. I'm now got this little image of the fridge door.
So open it and look into the top compartment of the door itself inside and there's a there's a lovely crunchy bar just calling my name. Juicy JJ. Juicy, juicy JJ.
Are you there? Juicy JJ. Juicy JJ. Come and eat me.
So I'm kind of thinking maybe I should but at the moment I'm blood sugar level is quite okay. So I've eaten. I don't because I feel I do feel spiked.
I'm not spiked. But I feel like it's the, you know, when you have too much, we all know what it's like to have too much sugar. Even as kids, you know, sometimes you have too much.
Well, I get that feeling sometimes when I just eat in a meal. I haven't got that today. So it's nice.
So next week, and we're talking I mean, it's Saturday now, Saturday evening now it's 10 to 10 to 10 nearly. And then tomorrow, Sunday. So Monday, I won't be able to start Monday, but maybe choose.
Well, maybe we'll see. I'll kind of wind down the food I've got maybe try not to have sugar on the breakfast cereal. It's hard though.
It is hard. But hey, it's worth it. Ultimately, isn't it? It's for you know, it's for the world really, isn't it? I mean, you know, the world needs me, man.
So I think I see if Vinnie's okay. I don't like putting him in there on his own. But he spends a lot he spends time in there on his own anyway.
But you know, the door has to be open. With the door closed, he doesn't like it. The doors open, he'll go sleep on the bed or even go to sleep on the windowsill in there and sunbathe.
So you know, at the moment, he hasn't got a choice. So as soon as I open the door, he'll be fine. Probably tell me off, give me the silent treatment for a little while and then we'll be good as gold.
So that brings me to the end of this recording. And if anyone's wants to complain that it's not long enough, listen to yesterday's recording. Then tell me that this isn't long enough, because you'll be happy after yesterday's recording to listen to something that doesn't last for five hours.
Well, three and a half three hours 40 minutes or something was a three hour 20 minutes. I lose track. Or is it three hours? Let me look.
Let me look. Three hours and 37 minutes 53 seconds. Excuse me that that's how long the Q&A Friday lasted yesterday.
That's a long time. A very long time. It took I mean, I didn't even get it.
I don't think they were all even published and uploaded probably by 11 o'clock this morning. Normally everything's done by about six in the morning. It's just took ages and ages and I couldn't do all in one go.
I had to do it have a break and then come back and do more and because it's it took a long time. A long time. But that's okay.
That's okay. I'm just happy that it's done. And there'll be another one next week.
So for now, thank you for listening. Remember, and I will be back tomorrow. So remember to be kind to yourself.
Remember to be gentle with yourself. Because you deserve to be happy. Lots of love.
Bye
