Can you imagine if someone was listening for the first time and thought no, does he really talk like that the whole time, pronouncing every vowel or noun or whatever it is. Exciting, I'm always excited at election time. Oh, you know, thinking about elections, sorry elections, I can go back years, years and years and years and years and years. You might be thinking what am I talking about? Elections, it was announced yesterday that there's going to be an election on the 1st of July.

So it's just over a month, six weeks, four, five weeks, six weeks, five weeks, I don't know, just over a month. It's the 23rd of this month, which is May. And let's see how many days it is.

I know everyone's probably like, oh, how many days is it JJ? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8. And then, oh, no, no, no, too far, too far, too far ahead. No, that's right. 8, was it 8? 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 38 days and then on the 39th day it's going to be Election Day.

So let's have a look. Election Day 2004. So let's see what comes up.

Oh, man, it's a fourth. So I got the date wrong. Okay, so it's not that I don't know how many days I remember.

And then 910 1112 1340 1516 1718 1920 2122 2223 2425 2627 2829 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 41 days 31 days and then the 4th of July which is a Thursday Thursday today which means how many weeks that is one which is one one week would be the 30th of May and then the sixth of May will be two weeks.

The third is the 23rd of May. So the 30th of May will be one week. The sixth of May will be two weeks.

The 13th. 30th of May will be one week. The sixth of June will be two weeks.

Wow. Five weeks five weeks. So it's kind of weird right? Because I won't go into other usually talk about the news or because you know it's I think it's fair to say that the the news headlines as a day.

Well I can't speak for every country but especially I'm going to say in this country the news headlines aren't usually bubbly and happy happy dappy news. It's not it's not it's it's not like opening the curtains and sunshine hits you in the face and like oh it's got a glorious day. It's not quite like that with the news you know.

It's not exactly the same. So I generally don't normally actually prefer to even indulge in actuality the news stories of that particular day whence I create the recording. However however yesterday there was a huge news story in the morning.

Huge huge huge huge. One of the biggest medical negligences in this country's history. Huge huge so huge that a lot of people around the country or even the world would know about it before it even came to be a news story.

They'd know someone. I knew someone that was affected by this 20 years ago. I knew them 25 years ago and he was a little bit younger than me not by much about three or four years younger than me at the time.

Anyway huge news story and took 30 40 years for the politicians to actually face the music. Huge news. I mean seriously it's something that would keep going for for days if not days weeks.

It might get knocked off the top a little bit but it keep coming back you know a bit like a bit like that song that you like to start with and then you get fed up with it because it sticks around the whole of the summer you know you liked it when it was in the top 20 perhaps even to be fair perhaps you liked it even more when it was in the top 10.

Then you got to number one and you thought well it's cool deserves to be number one and it's like this represents the summer for me this is this is great you know like barbie girl I'm a barbie girl in a barbie world wrapping plastic it's fantastic. I'm sure everyone remembers that from 1997 or whenever it was and how wonderful it felt to listen to that for the first few hundred times and then and then and then it's still there you know like a theme tune from Kevin Costner's Humping with Wolves.

It's kind of like oh was it Humping or was it the Robin Hood theme no it was a Robin Hood theme tune wasn't it wasn't it um what was it Sleeping with Wolves Sleeping with Wolves or am I thinking of a completely different movie altogether yes I think I am Sleeping with Wolves if I put in Kevin let's see what comes up in the images oh nope Dances with Wolves Dances with Wolves Dances okay so Dances Dances with Wolves theme tune theme song was there a popular theme song for that

now Indiana Jones I don't think it's the third the first two movies maybe the first three movies and he also played an Asian in that as well so there was a kid kid version so he's quite it's good if you can play a kid and an adult I mean that's pretty pretty good I mean so I'm just having a look see what else Elliot was in I can't see Cloak and Dagger 1984 hmm I'd have thought you know anyone you'd have to basically be an absolutely a nightmare to work with

in it I think that's how they get their start is by not they get their start but the is it the same person no George Lucas Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are they the same person don't know why George Lucas written by George Lucas Star Wars was written by George Lucas wow no wonder he got all the characters so good because he'd written them so I guess he kind of remembered how he wanted them to be so he wasn't trying to portray characters and bring to life characters from the page

or the script of someone else's mind because they were ideas from his own mind which is probably a lot more natural maybe not easy but probably a lot more natural to do when you already know what you're looking for in a character and how they walk how they talk how they act the presence the energy because you're the one that wrote it you invented that character that character is almost a part of your own consciousness wow anyway et1 et1 et budgets 10.5 million something just moved on its own behind me

10.5 million budget box office 792.9 million that's dollars Star Wars budget 11 million ha ha ha they spent too much they wasted all that money they didn't get anywhere near et the box office was let's have a look 775.4 million so ha ha loser loser I'm blimey it just shows you that they couldn't have paid the stars much money because there was no stars in that movie the only in Star Wars the only star I mean that was already a star was Peter Cushing Cushing and Alec Guinness and Alec Guinness

was only in it for a short while don't want to spoil it I don't want to give any spoilers you know 45 years after the made I don't want to spoil anything for anyone but Alec Guinness um doesn't make it to the end of the movie I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry to break break the news to you and Peter Cushing Cushing was very famous in the UK because of the Hammam horror movies Carrie Fisher I don't know what she did did she do anything before Star Wars rest in peace

Carrie I like Carrie Fisher she's someone I think I got on with just like as a person seeing documentaries and stuff and I think she'd her is weird I just I connect her and um what's her name Superman as well so Carrie Fisher Lewis Lane so Lewis Lane again you put in Lewis Lane who comes up it's going to be oh come on the best Lewis Lane it's just going on about the comic we don't care about it well okay right now I'm not that bothered about the comic Lewis Lane

uh what was the name okay if I just look in put is Margaret Giddy Kidder I think it's uh super who is this super man that you talk of Superman that you speak of cannell Superman the movie that's what I wanted I didn't want I'll put in Superman the movie the movie why why Superman movie Margie Margie Kidder Margo Margo Margo see this is weird because Christopher Reeve Blimey Margo Kidder right this Lewis Lane I would argue I'm going to argue that Christopher Reeve is the star of the film I

mean he's the one on the front cover I would also argue that uh the second star of the movie is Lewis Lane Margo Kidder because the whole movie pretty much is based around him and her their relationship you know and then I would say probably third would be yeah Gene Hackman who played Lex Luthor brilliantly but great so I'd probably say in that order and I'd probably say Ned Beatty because he was really funny as well as uh Gene Hackman's or um Lex Luthor's sidekick kind of but no when they

produce this movie you'll believe a man can fly that's what it says on the movie so it's got a picture of you know Superman but then it's got a picture of Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman because out of all the people in the movie it was only really Marlon Brando Gene Hackman that anyone knew about okay Ned Beatty was also quite famous I think as well but in Terrence Stamp I don't think he was famous at that time was he he might have been but he was only in it very

briefly he was Zod Captain Zod Marlon Brando Marlon Brando I remember even reading about this at the time at the time or reading about it I probably didn't read about it I probably saw on the news but it was a huge huge news story and possibly a way of getting people to watch the movie you know there's a lot of adverts on them on the news sometimes so it's one of the most uh memorable things I remember about the promotion of the movie was that Marlon Brando from The Godfather uh

one of the most famous movies of all time as well got paid a staggering million dollars for about 10 minutes of work you know to be in a movie for about 10 minutes so well I think it's probably longer than 10 minutes but it was does it say anything about this the film the budget was 55 million which was a huge budget 1978 Star Wars was 11 million and that was I mean so 55 million the box office was 300.5 million so they clearly made a big profit but wow 55

million most of that went to Marlon Brando I think so how much did wow Marlon Brando here's the cast as he says this on a Marlon Brando Superman's biological father on Krypton he was a he has a theory about the planet exploding yet the counts no okay Brando sued the Sulkins and Warner Brothers for 50 million dollars because he felt cheated out of his share of the box office profits this stopped Brando's footage from being used in Richard Lester's version of Superman 2 oh why should he get 50 million you

really the star of the movie no I'd say no but he's at this as a star star the next question if he hadn't been in the movie would it have made any any difference if someone else had played that character would it have been say for Alex Alex Guinness for example you know maybe him or Ernest Borgnine or I don't know I'm just trying to think anyone would it really have made that much difference having someone that wasn't an absolute superstar playing you know Superman's dad didn't okay I'm just I'm

gonna play devil's advocate here just you know I was a kid at the time how many people went to see Superman because they wanted to see Marlon Brando from the Godfather talking or how many people went to cinema to see a man flying around and blowing things up with his eyes and you know stopping planes from crashing and stuff like that how many or you know so there's that side a man Superman flying around saving the world or Marlon Brando Superman's dad just chatting about stuff just you know I sent

you here my son you will look like one of them but you are not one of them or laser beams from his eyes flying around the world thousands of times a second to reverse time sorry if I spoil everything oh no is that the second movie or is that the third movie I forget I don't want to spoil it for you I don't want to spoil it let me see because there's an earthquake isn't there and Lewis Lane Lewis turns back time turns back time Superman 2 yeah he reverses the

time he reverses time of the entire of the earth's entire solar system the earth's entire solar system just by moving fast enough to reverse the direction of the globe this is a feat that not even a flash is able to do the earth continues to rotate backwards even the Superman slows down and once time is reversed far enough back Superman stops and then flies in the opposite direction to restore earth's original spin direction and make time move forward again he travels back in time and saves Lewis Lane in addition to

reversing the damage from the second missile so what about the first missile oh isn't that it isn't that one of the things like you may be fast Superman but you cannot stop two missiles at the same time Superman 2 they put a lot into that movie didn't they if you think about it you got all the super villains Zod and the other two which to me was the most important thing about Superman 2 that's why I wanted to go and see Superman 2 it is Superman 2 the first of four

installments Superman no it was the first of three installments Superman Superman 2 Superman 3 we don't we cannot cannot count Superman 4 in any any stretch of the imagination it cannot be included Superman movie 4 it can't it was really how could they go so wrong got so wrong and it made a profit it was a hit but it was a budget of 17 million box office 36.7 million so the franchise was so loved Christopher Reeve was loved and Margaret Killer they were both and Gene Hackman well he's a bit

of a bit of thing Hackman Gene Hackman also provides a voice for Nuclear Man Mark Pillow is Nuclear Man why didn't they use his own voice I'll tell you why the same reason why Darth Vader had a different voice to the person that played Darth Vader who was inside the costume it's just they they wanted a different voice because Darth Vader was yeah that's my impression I am your mother and the bloke that plays I mean there's nothing wrong with him he was the green cross code man over here as

a precursor to Jolly Green Giant I think but he was a green cross code man that's who played Darth Vader so he's very famous already in this country for telling for teaching kids I mean it literally saved might have saved millions of lives thousands at least because he reminded reminded me to look before crossing the road I'm not even joking it actually did work I found that advert very useful and sometimes I watch it just to remind myself I don't I don't but it was it was useful it's not really

it's got down Gene Hackman as the star and then Christopher Reeve second Margaret Kidder is still way down right one two one two three four five six sixth so that doesn't make any sense I mean okay Gene Hackman he was a star before the movie wasn't he he was in the 70s but come on it surely I'm just playing devil's advocate here don't do that very often apart from twice today surely the star of the movie should be the star of the movie it's about Superman it's not about Lex Luthor

it's about Superman and it's the second movie about Superman who plays Superman is it is it is it Gene Hackman no is it Ned Beatty no is it Jackie Cooper no uh is it Susanna York no who is it Christopher Reeve really why is he not at the top I don't know he's second but he's not at the top and who's who would you say second in the you know in the movie really who else is it about what's about his girlfriend isn't it it's about Lewis Lane yeah I'd agree

with that it's very much about the two of them it's a love story and yeah interruptions by some naughty people um but yeah so where's she on the list oh one two three four five six down six down and then the question would be Terrence Stamp how can he be right at the bottom out of anyone in that movie apart from Christopher Reeve and Margaret Kidder Terrence Stamp is the he's the memorable one who plays Zod obviously Gene Hackman as well but Zod Captain Zod without Captain Zod that movie would

not have been what it was sometimes I just despair was it made in the UK was it I don't know so it's hard Superman the first one was very long but it's still brilliant second Superman I liked much better than the first Superman because there's more action there's more special effects there's let's face it the budget was pretty much as much as they made that they spent the same amount of money as what they made in the previous movie on the budget for this one so so I don't know if

that's true or not no is it true Superman one Superman Superman why are you doing that stop it give me the Superman movies Superman 2 Superman 2 Superman 1978 um oh no they did they spent 55 million on that one as well oh that was because of Marlon Brando greedy 300 million so that one okay that did make more than the second one Vinnie's decided to start barking at 13 minutes past 11 in the evening Vinnie I tell you what puts my nerves on him when he barks he just does
