Hello and welcome to... Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name is Jason Newland and I'm just going to move this around a little bit. I'm actually attempting to stream this both on Facebook, no not on Facebook, on YouTube and on Instagram.
And now I need a drink. So this is number 1093. So I'm going to put the microphone a little bit closer just so I can be heard.
Hello. So how you all doing? You all right? You okay? Good. I'm looking at you, then I look at you, then I look at you.
Instagram, YouTube, Instagram, YouTube. I suppose technically if I did it correctly I could have them pretty much kind of side by side but this is a it's not the first time that I've ever tried to do both but it's the first time in a while. So no one's watching which is cool because this is a podcast anyway so people listen to it.
At least three people will listen to it. Guaranteed. Now I would probably do better if I had a YouTube, if I had my Facebook page because people would listen on Facebook, they'd watch on Facebook.
But for some reason I deleted the app on Facebook. So if I'm manoeuvring around a little bit I just don't want to want it to look like I'm not looking at the Instagram. That's better.
Maybe. So for anyone that hasn't listened or watched these Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcasts before, basically what they are is just me, middle-aged, bald, fat man, just talking. Talking, talking, talking, talking, talking with the hope that... Well there's a few reasons, a few kind of reasons for it.
One is to, as the title says, to bore you to sleep. So by talking about my extremely boring life you may notice that your eyes start to get heavy and you may want to close your eyes and go to sleep. Now I don't know if I said it already but only listen or watch the video when you can safely close your eyes.
Now I've had to put Vinnie into the bedroom. I gave him a bone, I put it on the bed and I came out of the bedroom. I closed the door.
I closed the living room door and the only reason for that is because this is live. I can't really afford to have him barking. On a podcast I can edit it out.
I can't edit it out of a live broadcast and he's already been crying a little bit in there and it's still like for an hour. It's not a long time. I mean he spends half the time in there asleep in the bed anyway.
So I'm using my normal iPhone which is over there for the YouTube and for some reason it wouldn't let me film like landscapes so I'm doing it the same kind of way as Instagram which has to be up.
I'm using my old phone for the Instagram live broadcast and what I was thinking here's what I'm thinking just an idea just an idea to maybe start to do live recordings once a day maybe at the same time every day I'm not sure I have to figure it out but maybe if I can do this and it works and it works fine I mean I've got an iPad and if if I could try and broadcast live to Facebook at the same time as well but I think I'm internet wise.
Hello whoever's joined me on YouTube say hi if you're there and I'm also on Instagram so anyone that's listening and watching on Instagram hi and of course anyone that's listening on my podcast whoever's on YouTube has just gone why did you leave is it because I'm too beautiful you couldn't handle your eyes were going no I'm too much of a good thing maybe or maybe not so if I don't look into the camera of the phone it's because when I make these podcasts I wouldn't normally look into anywhere particularly I
kind of it's free association so I look all over the place and I will be doing that during the live broadcast as well so if that's weird then wait till you hear me talk blind if you think that's weird so it's not just about causing you to maybe what is kind of um there's this sense of feeling karma in your mind when you listen to me it might not happen the first time but the more often you listen or watch the more often you will maybe notice that you start to
feel more relaxed and even if you don't fall asleep you'll have felt more relaxed which is a good thing especially if you've got some issues with anxiety or anything like that so that's one of the things I will edit the cough out of the look of the podcast but I can't edit out of a live thing I've had a little bit of a cough lately but nothing huge nothing too bad no so really this is kind of a place this is a podcast where you can maybe notice that your mind
slows down maybe notice that you feel different you don't know why and you think well why would I feel more relaxed after listening to this weirdo on the screen or on the microphone why would I feel relaxed after listening to him but I guess I'm going from the feedback that I've had over the years I've been doing this particular podcast since March 2018 and I've been making podcasts for relaxation sleep chronic pain things like that since 2006 and videos as well so based on the feedback there's something quite good about
maybe having a friendly voice maybe someone that you don't know maybe I think some people start to feel that they get to know me a little bit over time and it really is just it is what it is you know I haven't got any lighting in here so the picture won't be particularly perfectly bright but because I've got such a big pink face I don't really um I think the darker is the better it is kind of you know maybe that's just so yeah I just I guess I'm trying to
explain what the podcast is maybe I don't need to spend 10 minutes doing that but especially for people that listen regularly and have done for years and they don't want to be listening to an introduction but I'm doing it anyway it's a tough um a big thank you to Joanne for your PayPal gift thank you I did post something on the oh I got a Facebook group Facebook Facebook group called Jason Newland's boring group yeah Jason Newland's boring group and it kind of is what it says really I haven't got
a huge amount of people on there there's about five but it's grown it's taken five years to get five people to follow you in five years I think it's pretty good going so there I am on Instagram I haven't done an awful lot on Instagram I mean I went through a little phase where I was uploading lots of videos and hardly anybody watched them and I know that Instagram isn't really for I'm not the target well no I guess the target I'm probably my age group's probably not the target audience
and I'm not the target video maker either being so old but you know what um as I was saying to someone earlier once you get with an old man you never go back and by that you never go back to the old man you keep away you basically never never do anything again with anyone it puts you off for life um she wasn't impressed uh but hey I should have just paid for my can of coke and left I don't know why you know I don't want to just talk I
just wanted to you know have a chat sometimes you do sometimes you don't so I don't know what the latest is Vinnie bit me the other day I'm not sure if I've discussed this um but I had a complete meltdown like I haven't had one of them for quite a while I don't get them very often that he bit me I basically all he was was in the park by the way Vinnie is my little boy um should I point out that he's a dog that would make more sense I
suppose if he bit me your child bit you yeah it's my it's my little doggy but he's my boy because when you get old like me pets become your children you know dogs my last son was a ferret and I loved him more than I could love anyone in the world he was my little boy and I worshipped that little thing that little pooh head and I've got another little pooh head called Vinnie and he's a Jack Russell I'd love it if he behaved himself and I could like introduce you
to him maybe I'll make a video put it on Instagram and just a short video of me holding him so you can sort of see him and because I know that I'd actually literally have to go into the bedroom pick him up bring him in hold him and then do the record because if I press record first he won't let me pick him up so it's you know he's not there's not one one part of him that wants to please me he's not out to make me feel good he's not
out to you know make me happy he's really all about what he wants 24 hours a day and it's fine he's still he's loving he cuddles me he's we sleep together he sleeps on a pillow right next to me so I'm on a I don't sleep on the pillow a bit too big for the pillow you might not be able to see that from the camera but I'm not little I'm not a little person I should that sounded wrong that little person but I'm not I am short I am I
am five five foot two I'm not five foot two wish I was I'm five foot eight and I don't I don't mind being five foot eight because Canelo one of the pound for pound you know best boxers in the world he's five foot eight there's no there's no shame in being five foot eight it's not tall the average height in this country in the UK I would say it's probably between 5 10 and 5 11 average for men or people yeah men you know you know I mean thing I'm a
bit worried to say the word but yeah just it's the average for I think for males is about 5 10 5 11 and of course you can go from any any height to like 7 foot 3 it's lots of different ones I think I'd rather be really short or really tall so I wouldn't want to be just a couple of inches taller that wouldn't do anything for me if I wanted it if I was going to be tall I want to be like 6 7 my oldest brother's about 6 5
maybe 6 6 6 5 really much taller than me and then my other brother above me is 6 6 1 maybe and I'm 5 8 so there's a big height difference there's actually a picture of me and the sea cadets my sea cadet uniform with my brother who's in his RAF uniform or what do they call it air cadets the air cadets and there's only two years difference between us it's twice my size he's head and shoulders above me and twice as wide he's just like just I look like a
little kid compared to him and it's just literally two years I mean I was like 11 so he was only 13 I know a lot can be different but but and he wasn't the tall one the tall one was just I think he was born about 7 foot anyway so I was a short I was a short one my little brother is about 5 10 5 11 so he's not as tall as the others but again still taller than me but I think if I was going to be a different
height I'd want to be really tall or really short you know under 5 foot I'd be cool with that because I think people that height are cute like Ronnie Corbett Ronnie Corbett is one of my heroes my comedy heroes and he was just he was really short I think he was under 5 foot I think maybe 5 foot 1 maybe 4 foot something he's just funny he's just I don't know I'm not saying that being short makes you funny I'm not saying that I'm just saying it's no it's not it's
just it's I don't know I think people not that I need it but I think people would probably look out for you you know it's like it's I don't know I know what I'm saying I just think it'd be cool to be like really really short I mean if I want to feel short I'll go to eastern Europe because they're tall go to a country like you're Russia or any of those countries where they're just the height difference is big compared to me however there are parts of the world where
I'm I'm quite tall compared to the average height and so that's for example Thailand and that was weird that's weird weird to be the idea of being literally like everyone being up to about there on me and it's like up to my shoulders like wow this never happened with adults I've hardly ever do I meet anyone that's that much shorter than me it's quite rare I don't meet some people shorter but usually a lot taller I like that usually so I was thinking what would be an introduction if I was
gonna get because when I did I've listened back to the very first Let Me Bore You To Sleep episode which was March 2018 and it wasn't like this much better it was much much better than this but it wasn't like this it was just like okay well this is possibly gonna be a new season a new podcast a new thing I don't know what's gonna be I'm just gonna talk and see what happens la la la la and I ended up doing a relaxation session so and I listened I think
I did a few of those and I thought well I don't it's not really what I'm trying to do here I've done hundreds and hundreds of relaxation sessions hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and I wanted to do something different and because I used to do what I used to do I've done a lot of hypnosis sleep relaxation stuff like that and I didn't want this to be that but I was hoping to maybe possibly get a similar reaction as that you know something where you could feel calm you could feel
relaxed you could drift off to sleep and even though it's live you can listen back to it you it doesn't I don't think it gets to that I would have sneezed blimey I can't believe that I just sneezed I haven't sneezed on a on a podcast for ages and I I made sure I didn't well I hope it wasn't too loud and what I would say is some people do listen and tell me that they listen for company so I'm just like a a friendly voice I've done that friendly face
probably an ogre face I've got a face for radio someone told me once that was my last girlfriend and she you know I mean I I think when I started I looked all right I was 35 now 53 so I was 35 when I first started making YouTube videos or 36 for YouTube but I was I was making videos putting them onto Myspace and then Facebook came along and then YouTube came along and I started putting them on there and I mean I was a lot younger I mean 18 years
man over 18 years ago I still got my own hair someone actually did say they saw a picture of me and I took a picture of my bald spot on top of my head really selling myself here and I and from about four years ago maybe longer and I showed it to a friend of mine that was sitting just over there and she said blimey you still got hair you're doing well so I guess from looking at that she thought I'd be completely bald by now but I started receding when
I was about 29 at the front and I really thought like oh wow this isn't good because I used to quite like my hair I always had really thick curly hair I'm not saying I liked the curly hair but I liked the idea that I had thick hair which meant that I'd always have hair that's what I thought I was wrong that's what I thought like well clearly I'm blessed with hair nothing else but hair you know at least I've got hair I haven't got height no intelligence no good looks
no money no way of earning any money no no I'll stop but yeah at least I had hair I had hair and some freckles but the freckles are gone they've turned into liver spots and so I had hair and then I thought oh starting to recede I mean there was a time when I was about 18 19 and I would spend like an hour doing my hair I can't believe it I wouldn't want to spend an hour doing anything right now apart from sleeping maybe eating chocolate an hour doing my
hair and my fringe was like down there just above my eyebrows honestly it's like it's like why shouldn't my fringe shouldn't my forehead be bigger than this and now it's gone the other way shouldn't my forehead shouldn't surely my whole head shouldn't be a forehead and you know it's this kind of it's thinning on top there there's a bald patch at the back there's greys it's uh it's a mixed mesh of uh horror really and I'm gonna say just like my underpants but why would I say that I'm not gonna
say that no this is a family show so I don't know how well the audio is picking up on the recording I'm doing if you're able to hear me okay if not then I'll have to figure out another way of doing it and joelostudio hey joelostudio on instagram so it's the only person that's uh I'm gonna wave I've done a wave hello only person that's listening on instagram I've got very few people on instagram that um I don't know I kind of thought should I try to grow an audience maybe
start to try and get a bigger audience with video as opposed to podcast because the podcast audience is it's always growing gets over time gets bigger but I just wonder I wonder whether or not I don't know would this be is it is it a good idea is it a rubbish idea is it is it is it is it is it I don't know what is it anyone anyone anyone see ya oh that was self-comfortable oh never used to make that noise when I sat down it just happened naturally it
just happened a few years back it's like just sitting down just sitting down I mean what blimey man very weird so what else can I say about this podcast oh yeah Vinnie he bit me basically we were in the park just having a little walk that's all it was he started barking at a dog from a distance I tried to calm him down I was like I said it's okay baby baby oh my little Vinnie Vinnie Vinnie and all that stuff and um he looked at me like why what are
you talking about I said no just calm down Vinnie he said no I don't want to calm down I said well why not he said why should I I said I just don't want you barking he said I'm a dog I'm supposed to bark you you fart you're a middle-aged man you fart I'm a dog I bark that's what we do that's what we're supposed to do that's what we're born to do I said well not necessarily I'm not saying I wouldn't say necessarily born to to bark he said what
do you know what do you know about it I said well it just seems quite aggressive seems a bit like over the top there's a bit needless he said you're needless I said that doesn't make sense he said you don't make sense I said look Vinnie now look at me don't want to look at you why not because you've got a face for radio why do you keep saying that because it's funny Vinnie please just stop being cruel can we just talk about what we're meant to be talking about look
can you just not bark when there's other dogs in the park I want you to get on with them why why should I well why not but why should I I don't understand what what do you mean why should I what are you you always used to be friendly to dogs what always yeah always you always used to be friendly how do you know what I always used to do you didn't get me till I was 10 months old ah here we go again little poor orphan Vinnie because you because
you oh oh you had it so bad yeah well you didn't know did you everyone has had you has loved you the first person you had you got ill she couldn't keep you because she was ill and then you went back to the family that bred you you stayed with a member of that family that you've known since you were born and she was your mummy for about three and a half months and what did you do you bit her on the face and she had grandkids so she couldn't keep
you because she was worried that you were going to bite her grandkids yeah well that's why she had to find someone else to take care of you and I was that person well so well so you I know it's hard to move around and you get attached to someone oh I said to move myself oh and I know it's hard to you know you get you get used to being around a certain person and a you know familiar I don't know circumstances home or whatever you get used to that and
then you move to a new place and it can be difficult I know myself I I've lived in lots of different places and did also when I was a kid with different parents and stuff he said how did you how did you manage to make this about you dad hey have you managed to make it about you you talk about me barking and not barking and then you managed to turn it around make it all about you I said Vinnie please I'm not making about me I'm just trying to let
you know that I kind of understand where you're coming from it can be hard but you have been with me for over half of your life you know you're it's you're now over two years old two and a half two years one month I've had you since you were 10 months so it was at 12 13 14 15 months I've had you is that right 15 months December January February March 14 months so I had you for 14 months did you really just count on your fingers yeah you did that
on in public there's no one else around there's only me and you what about that dog and the crowd of people watching yeah they can see us but they're not they can't hear what we're saying and where do you know well I've got my back to them yeah that's what it's why they're laughing laughing at your big fat bum I do not have the why am I arguing why are you being so rude Vinnie you're rude oh here we go just round in circles you're around in circles yeah big fat
bum oh Vinnie you gotta stop this is this this rude you need to start being nicer be nicer and he said well what is your issue anyway I said well I just like you to be a bit friendlier and stop barking at dogs because you you get on so well with most dogs and there was when I first got you it was like laying on your back being passive to every dog you met and now you're being selective some you're passive with some you're like literally getting angry with he said
how do you know I'm being angry well it just it sounds aggressive the barking sounds aggressive like ra ra ra ra ra not once in my entire life have I ever gone wha wha wha wha wha I'm a dog no dog goes wha wha wha wha wha what planet are you from now Vinnie you're being rude again why why have you got to be rude to me you're rude like just saying back to me what I said to you isn't a comedy response it's not a good put down you're not
a good put down okay I'll give up yeah you give up oh that doesn't work does it no it doesn't oh can you please stop barking nope and he carried on barking again so I knelt down and I kind of was like trying to comfort him and I picked him up because usually in the past when he's been anxious or whatever he seemed like he's nervous or a little bit upset I pick him up give him a cuddle and he's fine well this time he bit me bit me on the
hand just there and you can't see a mark because there is no mark because he didn't leave a mark didn't break the skin and it was basically a nip not what not not a luh just a nip and although Vinnie Vinnie um Andre when I first got him he bit my nipple and he's a little ferret when he was a baby at the time that razor blade sharp teeth and he bit my nipple honestly it was lovely no it wasn't it really hurt really hurt man and he did it while
I was making a video oh man I've got it somewhere one of my Jason Chet vlogs from years ago I mean we're going back 2015 yeah 2015 so I picked him up and he bit me now it wasn't about whether or not he hurt me it's not like I didn't have to go to hospital or anything that wasn't what the issue was the issue for me was very simple he bit me my little boy bit me he bit me and it really triggered something off in me really really really got
annoyed and I brought him home and I was standing outside my home where I live the flats and I didn't want to go inside of him because I was just I just didn't know what to do with him I kind of almost was thinking well I got to rehome him I can't have that behavior I can't have I can't have an animal biting me and you could say well yeah it didn't break the skin and it's not about that it's the fact that he actually went to bite me and yeah
he didn't manage to but if he tried to if he'd have had a chance he would have probably bit a hole in my hand if I've had a chance he'd probably still be eating my hand now probably still be chomping on it so kind of in my rage I was thinking of all kinds of weird things like and then I started to think well I don't know so I come upstairs someone knocks on the door I'm only indoors for about a minute and I lose it like I can't get a
minute's peace oh brilliant someone else at the door I lost it absolutely lost it and this is not me this is this well it is me but it's not how I respond this is not how I act normally this is um maybe you could argue this is the bipolar I don't know but or whatever but I absolutely lost my mind temporarily and I'm yelling and shouting and screaming honestly it's only for a very very short time and then I managed to calm down but I only lasted for a few minutes
I was just so angry and I didn't take it out on him on Vinnie he didn't even know he didn't care he was on the floor eating a bone and I think the thing that was good is my friend had some real problems and the reason he was knocking on the door because he needed my help and he needed someone to talk to and that that change of focus from thinking about myself to then thinking about him helped and and this is not something I'm proud about it's not something I
would normally do it just happened I'm not talking about helping people but um losing it I really lost it because the idea of someone that I spent practically 24 hours a day with I sleep with I live with I love biting me like turning on me like that it was just I'm I'm the person that he should be protecting and the surely our most important person in his life but I don't think I am we don't think I am I think anyone but me I mean sometimes he you know he
does exactly the same thing as what Andre used to do so sometimes he comes and cuddles up to me which is good it's nice I like that but then he falls asleep Andre used to do that he'd fall asleep and then he woke when he wakes up Vinnie does that same thing he wakes up looks at me said what the hell are you doing there and he runs off doesn't like if he falls asleep he's happy to be cuddled and I stroke him but as soon as he wakes up it's
like what the hell how'd I get here and he jumps off and Andre used to do the exact same thing and now Vinnie does that really weird and the weird thing about it another another weird thing about it is when we're in bed it's not always a good start to a sentence is it the even weird there is when we're in bed I'll wake up and he's cuddled against me and he's pushing himself against me like maybe I'll be facing out of because there's a wall beds against the wall so
I'll be facing out towards the part where the wall isn't that makes sense and he'll be pushing into my chest and my stomach he'll be like to be fair he's probably missed he's got his eyes closed he's probably mistaken my belly for the pillow but hey hey ho as they say and I don't know he just when he's asleep or if he thinks I'm asleep even when he's awake if he thinks I'm asleep he cuddles up to me and sometimes I wake up and he's got himself right under my arm
and my arm is like resting on his belly and he's still cuddled but he won't do that when I'm awake oh no no no no no no it's I don't know I'm quite sure what's going on I think it's is it strange is it strange I'm not sure but it might be near a door so what's weird is I just surprised myself for how angry I got because I'm not I wouldn't sound particularly angry person necessarily I have my moments we all have our moments don't we but I really just
the idea of just that was just really for purpose for purpose Jason so someone's actually just said hello to me so positioned for purpose Jason I must say just do a little wave this is on Instagram and YouTube of a one person watching and so and there's about two people listening on on the podcast when I upload it so that's four people never had this is William on Facebook hi William um I was going to try and this is share the video on Facebook I need to get some kind of
an app where I can stream to everywhere at the same time because if I if I did a stream to Facebook I generally get depending what time of day it is because I've got I got people that watch me and listen to me in Australia America New Zealand Canada as well as the UK and other parts of the world but because there's a big time difference between America and UK and Australia even more so and New Zealand and that so it's uh it's quite hard to do a recording or to
to get everyone a time when everyone is available at the same time it's just not going to happen it's not realistically ever going to happen I guess so I occasionally when I do a Facebook stream I'll get maybe a couple of people watch and then now and then and I haven't done many for a while but the last one I did I had a fair few people come on and we're chatting and stuff it was quite nice but it's been a while that I wonder if that must be on Facebook
I must have saved it on Facebook I might put on YouTube I don't know it depends whether or not Facebook allowed me to download it I don't know and yeah so that's kind of that's that's the only thing really that's happened I mean as far as oh my friend's flat downstairs has now been let out I think the well I think so I think I saw the new tenants today being given the keys I might be wrong but there was some people there and they looked like they were discussing dates
to move in so good for them hope they're okay I wish them well and it's very strange very strange for me to what will be strange to see someone else going into that door the door of my friend my best friend's home she's not there anymore and just it'd be really really weird even if he just moved out if he just moved address it would be weird to see someone else going into his home because it's not his home anymore but it'd just be weird it'd be strange and yeah I
mean it was when the lady downstairs passed away she another one younger than me she her people moved in after her that was kind of weird just strange strange and I didn't know her that well I knew her enough she'd been up here and I've been in her place a couple of times she'd been up here a few times and but she was very kind of kept herself to herself and she yeah it was just kind of weird weird yeah I've known her since it's like 2019 or beginning of 2020
when she left and I think I think yeah I think so yeah it was and I've known her since 2015 so I've known her for five years and I remember the first time I came in here when I yeah she was the first neighbor I have I ever met I think because she lived just on the right as you come into the front door so I she just was must have been coming out of her front door and I said hello hello and I thought wow because she's lovely and I
thought this could be my future wife and I don't know what was going on in her mind at the time but it wasn't that I mean future anything I think future neighbor that's as far as I was ever going to get with her I think well actually that's not totally true I think we could have been married if she liked me all she had to do is like me she's like me but she she was nice I liked her and she was probably more reclusive seclusive reclusive than I am and
I'm a bit of a recluse and she I didn't really see her that much but yeah she was cool those yeah it's weird but now there's someone else living downstairs isn't she the people that moved in after the one I was talking about they then moved out and then there's another person living there now but all the other flats have stayed exactly the same same people for nearly nine well it's nine years it's literally I moved into this flat now I got the keys no I viewed that's it I viewed
this flat the Tuesday after Easter and it's now the Wednesday after Easter now I realize Easter is different days different years it's different time I don't know when it was it was Easter 2015 so I don't know don't know it's either the end of March or beginning of April that's basically when Easter is end of March beginning of April I so after the bank holiday Monday I came to view the place at like 9 30 in the morning something like that and the lady that showed me the flat said do
you want it I said well don't know I didn't expect to be asked if I wanted it there and then I thought I'd have a little bit of you know a little bit of time a little bit of space a little bit of a chance to think you know a chance to kind of I mean really if you're going to buy a car you don't just look at one car and then say you're going to have that or if you're going to buy a house you don't look at just one
house and just say yeah generally unless you fall in love with the house but the council expected me just by looking at one flat and I think they had a rule back then that if you turn down two you have to go to the back of the queue I don't know if they made it rhyme for people to remember but you know there was a cutoff point you could only keep turning down stuff because there and there's a valid point that I've got is if you are desperate which is why
you're at the top of the list is if you are desperate to get a new place to get a flat and they offer you a flat and you turn it down and then they offer you another flat and you turn that down then how desperate are you I guess is the way they think now I don't know what the rules are now because they said it's like nine years ago I'm not even sure if you get more than one chance and they do let you choose an area and you do
bid for the flat so I bidded for this I didn't know what kind of area it was I didn't know the the problematic stuff that was going to be happening around here I didn't know that so um now and I visited twice before even coming inside the flat I visited the area twice because I wanted to see if it was noisy at night or whatever during the day and night so I came here on the um I think I came here on the Friday and then I may or maybe it
was a Thursday and then I came here on a Saturday and both times I think I came here during the day I came here the evening on Thursday and it was very quiet and then I came back on a Saturday in the afternoon because I thought well this is a Saturday we all agreed it was a Saturday I went up to people said this is Saturday he said yeah we agreed it was Saturday and it's I thought if it was going to be any kind of activity it would be on
a Saturday and I don't know if that would be the case on a bank holiday weekend because people do go away don't they some people but again it was quiet I even knocked on the doors of the neighbours um I think I knocked on my own door because I've got the wrong wrong flat but I knocked on all the doors just to sort of introduce myself and just say look I'm going to look I was going to what this is what I was going to say I was going to say
I'm looking at the flat on Tuesday what's it like be honest with me what's it like around here is it any good is it nice is it uh is it safe is it I don't know just what's it like living in this building nobody answered the door not one person I guess I did need to say not one person just nobody answered the door was probably enough and old Patrick just came on to the screen and what my Instagram hey Jason I'll be listening later get to sleep so much easier
listening to your podcast thanks mate thank you Patrick and see told you at least one person listens to my podcast so there's only two other people uh so it's good I'm I'm I'm pleased you know I think if I can gain one extra listener every year then I've done well I've just got to live to be a million and because I like the idea of reaching a million views in a day I've done nearly a million in a month once I just did over nine hundred thousand and seventy not about
nine hundred and seventy thousand in a month it's a couple of years back this is when a lot of people were at home for a certain reason that we don't talk about and so I got I think it was yeah it was the end of the year and so I got a big big influx of people listening and I was thought it'd be so cool if I could get to the million a month then a million a week then a million a day listeners but it's quite a lot of people
you know and so I'm probably getting I get a few million a year to be on now like maybe five million a year six million a year something like that so uh plays or downloads and what something happened which really messed with the podcast is everything was going really really well and then I had to I was told I had to get rid of the my podcast host couldn't have music any music in the background and those because I had 10 hour versions of the recordings with music but also me
talking as well like giving positive suggestions and stuff like that and then it just they were the most popular recordings and having to take them off meant that I had to re well I needed to use a new host for the ones with music but in the process lost a lot of listeners that were listening to the to the others because basically because I've been doing it for so long the links all the links were broken you know all the different podcasts I had connected to my podcast host with strong
links because it'd been there for years and suddenly they all got broke and I had to redo and try and reconnect with different places and different podcasts players and it was a bit of a catastrophe to be honest but now I'm getting I don't know what I'm getting anymore I'm getting a decent amount I sort of you know a few thousand let me boy this sleep plays every day two to three thousand probably so sometimes more sometimes a little bit less so it's you know I've kind of a lot of
my eggs have kind of been put into one basket now I've got three podcasts running well three SoundCloud podcasts and I think about 12 on Spreaker the speakers all the stuff is only without music no no music allowed but I didn't want to lose those podcasts so I rebuilt them I didn't want to lose the stop smoking or the chronic pain but at the same time I couldn't afford to have a SoundCloud podcast for each of those podcasts because it would cost me like I don't know 200 pound a month
or something just for podcasts and although you know thinking about it maybe that would have been a better idea I don't know maybe maybe I do I just love seeing the stats you know waking up and seeing that I'd had maybe or maybe not waking up but or seeing yesterday stats seeing how many and sort of seeing oh blimey I had 30 000 downloads yesterday for example and I was like wow not that that was average the average is about 10 000 a day so I ended up with about 300
000 a month sometimes more you know I was getting up to 500 600 700 a month and then the hit the top it hit the peak of just under a million and then it still was going down but it still was like good maybe six seven hundred thousand a month and then when they took off the 10 hour ones the 10 hour recordings it dropped dramatically to the point where I was I think I wasn't even getting a thousand plays a day probably some only a few hundred you know it's
like wow this is just ridiculous no one wants to listen to the normal recordings and just it was just seriously bad and all the breaking up of the different links and stuff so a lot of the players a lot of the I don't know podcast apps no longer knew where I was or could can you know put me forward to people recommend me yeah so that was weird weird times and still not really recovered from that I don't mean emotionally but I haven't I don't even know how many I get
now because I have to break it all up between the different podcasts but one podcast which is like a mixture of lots of different things I've got on there it gets anywhere between three and ten thousand a day and the let me boil your sleep podcast on its own gets two thousand to three thousand a day generally downloads and the deep sleep whisper one is I've just relaunched it on soundcloud and that'll be who knows who knows I'm still waiting for it to kind of correct itself because again click connecting
it to apple podcasts which I thought I had and it started listening on the other podcasts I was like what's going on once that sorts itself out and I'll probably get a couple of thousand a day on there sometimes a few hundred sometimes six thousand you know it depends it just depends on who listens I guess obviously so yeah that's kind of where I'm with that is I can't miss a little bit miss the it was nice having everything in one place having everything under one umbrella the Spreaker podcast hosting
I really liked it was expensive it cost me a fair bit of money to run it but it was it was nice just to see the podcast growing and to have it all in one place so instead of just breaking up the different podcasts and seeing the little stats and different places you just see it all in one place so maybe there's 12 podcasts and having I don't know 14 000 downloads or plays in that day and be like yeah this is good I like this a lot and I miss
that a bit because you know I have days of you know with my other podcasts and soundcloud I've had 50 000 download or play days so there has been big days occasionally but it's not a regular thing and quite often that's when I've uploaded a lot of new stuff and got backdated stuff really and but so yeah that's it really I don't know quite how this is going it's quite weird to do a live recording two live recordings plus a podcast very very very strange I'll be editing the podcast tomorrow
morning first thing in the morning so it's going to be weird that the live broadcast is out before the actual podcast that's no fear no fear at all so I want to go so thank you thank you very much for listening and remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve to be happy be gentle with yourself lots of love bye bye bye bye bye bye now I've got to figure a way of stopping these recordings without it looking weird how do I stop this thing if I press it
how do I stop it live I click on live okay that hasn't done it it's practically pushed it over live okay the cross okay bye everyone bye and I'm going to say goodbye to everyone on YouTube so ta-ra when I press the button bye-bye
