Hello and welcome to Let Me Bore You To Sleep. My name is Jason Newland and please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. You can hear that barking outside.

It sounds like Vinnie. I just, Vinnie wanted to go downstairs and be with his friend. So my friend said oh you can go downstairs.

So I thought I'd take advantage of it and I could make a recording so that if you can look after him for an hour so I haven't got him in the background or I haven't got him like pestering me. And now I've got him barking in the background in the garden. Why does this not open? The idea is for him to be quiet.

I'll give him a couple of bones. I'll chuck them out. There's another one.

All right mate, I'll see you in a little while. Right, I just chucked a couple of bones out the window to them. So one for his mate and one for him.

My friend caught them and now they should be happy for a little while. So yeah, how you doing? How you getting on? Are you well? Are you well? I hope so. I really do.

I uploaded or made public a video today on YouTube. It's a deep sleep whisper ASMR brain massage it's called. It's actually got the most amount of views of any video I've released in ages.

I really don't understand it. I'm not complaining. I'm just like wow.

So I think one of the problems with the YouTube channel is when I share my podcasts onto YouTube, it's literally just a picture. Not a particularly good picture, then with a picture of the podcast. This is a page with Spreaker picture and the title.

No graphics, no visuals, no movement on, you know, no video as such and just a static picture for the duration. And although the 10 hour ones are again, just like with the podcasts, the 10 hour ones are more popular than the rest. Like twice, three times as popular as the other ones.

So that's kind of interesting. But what I was thinking of doing. Again, I'm not sure if I can even do it really is looking at perhaps here is the idea to do the original video of the podcast with a moving image.

It could be weather, you know, it could be a river, it could be a sunrise, you know, but it's a video. And let's say it lasts for 20 minutes or half an hour. And then I would do a version of that.

And three other versions, one without music, one, one with music. In fact, I probably just do the one with music. Then I do one five hour one and then a 10 hour one.

The five and 10 hour ones, which are more popular than the original ones, for some reason, I would have a black screen. So that'd be the original to be the introduction. And then I put down black screen for the duration so that people that are listening on YouTube will just have a black screen.

So if you're let's say watching television, watching YouTube on your television, it might just be completely black, which is maybe is what you want if you're going to sleep. Maybe. Just an idea.

Just an idea. I'm having a look. You know, all I can really do is have a look.

I did another one the other day that is done. Okay. 31st of July ASMR timeline, a deep sleep whisper.

So that's that's got a few. So it's for me, I kind of think, well, it's YouTube, you know, it needs to be a video. However, on the other side, it's, it's a sleep recording or relaxation recording, where you're probably going to have your eyes closed.

So what does it matter what's on the screen? That's kind of where I am with that as well. However, the videos that have stuff on the screen, like visuals and a video and have a lovely waterfall or something like that, gets more views than a static page. With with my stuff anyway.

Unless I was to make the static page a bit more nicer. Perhaps, perhaps that's what I could do. Just have the static page a bit more pleasant, a bit more, you know, it's a nice picture.

So I'm going to look into that look, just play around and see what I can do. But that is the plan from this week onwards. I'm going to start making some videos for each new recording.

I'm going to make videos of those recordings and put them on YouTube, as well as you know, the podcast, of course, of course. What else? What else? What else? I'm not sure when the last time I did a recording was the 4th of August, which was Friday, I do believe. 4th, 5th, 6th, Sunday today is 6th.

Saturday is the 5th. So yeah, the 4th of August. I did.

Oh, yeah. 1027, Let Me Bore You To Sleep, living in Ireland. That was the last one I did, I think.

I'm thinking. Yeah, it was. So it's only been two days away, so I do one today.

So it's only been a day without making any recordings. So what I will do is make this into a video. And I realise that's probably not the most exciting information you've ever heard.

Probably. But it is probably not the most boring thing you've ever heard me say, either. Somewhere in between, I imagine.

Did anyone listen to my Jason's Bedtime Storytime, Little Tim and the Magical Forest, was number 28. Anyone listen to that? Anybody? Yeah. I don't think anyone has.

Just wondering if anyone thought it was okay or. Yeah, I don't know if anyone's some look. Did anyone listen to it? 20, 10 hours, Little Tim.

Okay, yes, a few hundred people will listen to it. That's all right. I mean, considering that I only did it on Thursday, so there's still time.

I suppose it will accrue a few listens over the next few months, possibly. Possibly. I mean, on the actual podcast itself, the Bedtime Storytime, it's, it will be a slow burner, because the statics, statics, statistics, even on a really good day, it's like 35 downloads.

You know, it's a very slow podcast. And there's nine, just nine and a half thousand total downloads. And there's 28 recordings.

28 different recordings. But the last one I did, which was February 2022, 365 fairies necklaces. And the last 30 days, it's got 88 downloads.

But total, this is a 10 hour, 10 hour version, in total, before that period, which was blimey. When did I say it was? Last, okay. The total amount is February, didn't I say last year, 1236.

What on earth? The Little Stinky Mermaid. Blimey, who writes these titles? 42 total downloads. Blimey.

So yeah, they're not 23. 42. I'm sorry, I'm just laughing at my own, my own jokes.

But, but, but, but I wonder if I was to look up that one, see if how many downloads it got on the other podcasts. Let's have a look. We don't care.

Blimey 71 in the last 12 months. August it had 67. So it just goes to show that I would say my stuff just gets lost, even though I've got thousands of recordings.

Oh, you know what, you know, I've been doing, you know, I mean, I do want to exaggerate and say all day, but it hasn't been all day. But I've spent a few hours doing this. No, not yawning.

I know what I'm about to say. And that made me yawn. I'm boring myself.

Not just with what I'm saying, but thinking about what I'm about to say. That causing a yawn is weird. That's a new level of boring, isn't it? So I remember this, this story from years ago.

I think it was the 90s. And there was a hold up in a bank armed robbery. And this hypnotist was in the queue.

He's one of the customers. So he decided. So the armed robber was in front of him.

He decided to hypnotize the armed robber into putting his gun down and laying his idea was put the gun down, lie on the floor until the police get there. So he starts hypnotizing and goes to talk to him, starts hypnotizing him. And he gets shot.

So that's it didn't quite work. I don't know why I was thinking about that. I'm just I think if I'd been in that situation, I could have bored, bored the armed mob robber into just like, okay, I can't be bothered now.

So I don't know what got me thinking about that. I'm not sure. I definitely go for a little tired patch.

I think I need a little sleep. But it is nearly six o'clock in the evening or afternoon. When does afternoon turn into evening? Because it's still light outside till about nine o'clock, quarter to nine.

It's getting darker earlier, but it's still light outside at this time. In a couple of months time, it will be dark outside at five o'clock, four o'clock, even once we get to November. So I don't know when this evening start, when does afternoon end? Because afternoon starts after midday, doesn't it? But PM starts after midday.

That's the afternoon. But there's no real start to the evening. I mean, there's you could say what starts at six o'clock in the evening.

But I haven't seen any rules about that. I mean, night time. Technically, for me is when it's dark.

And proper night time is after midnight, which is not when you're asleep, isn't it? So if you sleep during the day, then that's night time, I guess. Yeah, I've got no idea why I'm saying all this. What was the point? What are we getting out of this? What's the point? Why? Why? So that's the stuff about my YouTube channel.

Is there anything else I can tell you about it? 100 I got 1017 subscribers, which is, as I'm sure you agree, phenomenal. I mean, blimey. That's like millions, isn't it? Millions in my life in my kind of world.

Today's podcasts, pretty nice, weird. That's very, very strange. I thought I hadn't just done a 10,000 downloads yesterday.

Now it's saying I've only had eight and a half thousand. That's very strange. Yeah, the downloads haven't been great.

Even when I make that two or three podcasts a day. Hasn't Yeah, last week, I made it might just be the time of year to summer, Pete, a lot of people are out on holiday and stuff. But let's have a look.

overall statistics last month last month yeah 266 current month what's the current month 52,000 so since Tuesday one two three four five six oh okay so the last five days plus today 52,000 last 12 months 4,077,145 so it all kind of evens around about 300,000 sometimes a little bit less I mean August 286 September last year 242 October 328 304 in November 313 December January 570 always December January February always the biggest the bigger months kind of January especially for some reason so 570 378 February and then 447 in March

so that's quite a bit higher 328 April 279 May June 276 266 July so really the top months were January February March and April but January February March really January March particularly December was weird because if you look I know you're interested pretend I'm going to pretend pretend January um okay so that that that that I started off the year last year 2022 seven 773 and a half thousand downloads in January in February 681 and then 533 in March 401 in April then 354 341 yeah basically it's just gone down

get downhills all the way it's just it's kind of evened out that like the 300,000 mark which is I don't know looking at it makes you feel a little bit like a failure bit of a failure I think I might be a failure I've only got August 2021 if I go August 2021 to July 2022 okay just to get an idea so how it's grown I mean there was it was a particularly strange time in those months I can't get the stats for earlier unfortunately I wish I could the like

2000 time but during that period I had six nearly six and a half million downloads during August 2021 in July 2022 and even though I've got 773 and a half thousand downloads in January 2022 December 2021 849 000 and November 825 000 October 670 000 and that was 2021 21 458 000 September but the August 2021 was 210 so it jumped up um so basically I think maybe the podcast is going down the bin I think that might be what we need to learn from this it's it's perhaps maybe the

podcasts are on the way out 300 000 a month it's not a lot and maybe yeah maybe that's it's the end man it's the end of everything I don't know it's weird I mean overall nearly 14 and a half million total downloads in the last five years so I'm you know what I'm quite pleased really generally some days sometimes I get 11 000 sometimes I mean just in the last 30 days I've had one one two three four five six seven eight nine so I've only had nine out of 30

days above 10 000 which is very rare actually but then it's the peak of the summer it goes slow in the summertime in the summertime in the summertime and people are out you know if it's especially if it's nice weather like in England in parts of England I guess it's been maybe it's been nice but it hasn't it really hasn't I don't think it's been nice at all but that's just my personal my personal thing has just been I literally literally got soaked three times yesterday taking a little knobby out

for a walk three times I was rotating clothes I literally had rotated putting one clothes I had to turn the heating on to dry the clothes off ready for when I took him out the next time dry my my coat and my trousers and my socks it was ridiculous really so I put on clean clothes just to go out for a walk and then take them off and dry them off again but what can you do I've got to take him out and it's weird because I got more wet yesterday

information at all about Kelly so I've got no idea it's a picture of an owl so I don't know who who Kelly is so but welcome I don't need to know who anyone is just welcome for joining ML joined on the 2nd of August so it's been nice had a few new people joining this week welcome um let's have a look view main profile I look at everyone's main profile nothing weird just usually just I'm just that's a nice picture the picture of I don't know if it's if it's ML

that's sitting under a tree that's nice nice picture so I was going to say because I've got quite a few people listening from other countries I say quite a few but for me anything over anything over like 30 or 40 listeners is a lot the idea that more than 10 or 15 people are actually listening to me talking is weird for me even it might it might sound like I'm showing off when I'm talking about the statistics I'm really not I'm surprised even though you know okay I've got nearly a

million downloads on November 2021 or was it January whatever the fact is I still can't believe that I'm getting nearly you know averaging 300,000 a month that's just it's silly and because oh yeah what I was saying I know I'm moving around all over the place a bit but I I started the 10 hour ones once I started the 10 hour ones the stats went I think it went up to start with because I was producing more recordings and so that was why the increase there's two reasons for the increase

the first one was when I started doing five hours I did ones with music five hours and ten hours it was just background music there was nothing else it was me talking and then background music so the five and ten hour ones when I'd finished talking the music just continued until the five hours had finished or the ten hours had finished there was no nothing else I wasn't talking at all on there afterwards now I uploaded I re-uploaded loads of recordings with the five and a ten hour and with background

music ones like hundreds and hundreds of recordings I redid which is why I got such a high amount of downloads for those that period and then so the November and December I did that January I get an email saying you're not allowed to do that you can't have a recording that's mainly music it's a podcast and you have this you're breaking our our guideline rules whatever it is you can have music in the background you can have music as an introduction but you can't have music on its own without any

talking or any anything with it so what I did is I deleted all of the recordings that had background music or that had music you know because I didn't want to not the ones with background music because they were fine but all the five and ten hour ones I deleted those so it was hundreds of recordings and then I was really like what am I going to do all that work just you know up in smoke just it was a lot of work involved in that it took me weeks and

weeks to put that all together and then I thought okay why don't I just have um once the recording's finished you know say it's a five hour recording half an hour talking and then or four and hours talking for a Let Me Bore You To Sleep and then four hours of relaxation so me either counting down or doing a body scan or offering positive suggestions positive affirmations so that's what I did so I recorded those and I looked through older recordings to see if there was any that I could use

and I basically put it all together which took a while and I went back and reproduced all the old recordings that I just deleted with the new background music with me talking over the music which then fitted with the guidelines of the podcast because I am talking pretty much the whole 10 hours it's just slow and it's you know focusing on different parts of the body or it's relaxing or you know counting down from a thousand down to one all that stuff I think I forget I need to revisit and

make it make some more I have some newer versions of this as well so then I did that and that was when it took off again so that's when it really grew again and that was like 2020 to begin the 2022 I think so before that I didn't do the 5 or 10 hour or any with background music so I did them all with music and then I had to delete the ones the 5 and 10 hour ones and then I remade them and uploaded them again correctly how they you

know should be and I got a big spurt of downloads but then I suppose over time the the 10 hour ones have been the most popular podcasts so I'll give you an example I'll give you an example statistics so if I go for the last 12 months okay last 12 months last 12 months so if I go through the hypnosis of stress and anxiety 1.1 1.1 million downloads so the top so number one 10 hours number two 10 hours 3.10 hours 4.10 hours 5.10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 5 hours

10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 I think you get an idea predominantly 10 hours and if I do this for the last 12 months for the ASMR Deep Sleep Whisper 5 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours there's one that isn't a 10 hour as well as the 2022 recap okay cool then 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10

hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours 5 hours 10 hours okay so that gives you another idea for that podcast chronic pain relief I don't think this will be the same actually I think this will be different because I don't get many downloads on there anyway so I think it won't make any difference it won't be focused so much on 10 hours no I was right but the first one is 10 hours but then the rest are

just no music until a little bit further down so but I have not made many recordings on there so next one is hypnosis for sleeping deeply so last 12 months just over a million downloads so 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours recap that one that let go that was quite a popular one blimey then 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours 10 hours

10 hours 10 hours to okay and blimey so yeah there's a point there is a point to this you might not believe like what is the point I'll tell you what's ironic don't you think is the so many of those podcasts the ones where I put all my stuff on are the Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcasts kind of I actually get more downloads on those ones that I do on the actual podcast itself which is weird so I had 209 000 downloads last 12 months on the Let Me

the main place I go to you understand so that started off probably when they were young men or women saying evening standard would you care to purchase an evening standard today's edition of the evening standard newspaper and then after 30 years nerd nerd honestly it was they all did it right okay every single one of the top recordings for the first probably 30 40 or 50 for the last 12 months on that let me boil you sleep for 10 hours relaxation hypnosis we get the we get the drift no no

That's varied, that's very varied. So it seems the ones with pain relief don't necessarily need to have music with them, from the looks of things. What about Self Help One, Self Help Podcast? 12 hours, 12 months, 16,000 downloads.

Ten, positivity, stop smoking, stop nail biting, from 2017. So 947 downloads for that one. See, this is not a bad little podcast, actually, but no one really knows about it.

Self Help Hypnosis. And it's got a lot of my older stuff on there. Things like stop smoking, nail biting, fear of feeling nauseous, nail biting, lose weight, addiction, change of feelings with a silly song.

Okay. Don't, yeah, different things. Binge eating and drinking.

Blimey, tinnitus. I don't remember, I don't know what tinnitus is, I don't remember any of this stuff here. Eczema and itching, blimey.
