A little bit strange really, to be honest. I don't think we need to be teaching dogs to want to be chewing on baby's booties, you know what I mean? When I buy booties... Boots. You know they're put on their feet, that's what I mean.
And they're literally that size. Because the ones I got for him. Because he's so little.
They're probably the size of a baby. It seems very strange that they're shaped like that. Oh well.

Today is... The one thousandth episode of this Hero Podcast. One thousand. One... One thousand.
And just looking at the stats, because you know how much we all love to hear about the stats. So far in the actual podcast, the Let Me Boyd You Sleep podcast, seven hundred and one thousand and six total downloads. But it has been listened to on other podcasts as well, so it's a lot more than that in fact.
So, what does that mean? A hundred, seven hundred? Each podcast episode has been listened to a hundred, seven hundred times? I don't know. I don't know. How else should I know? I'm not an expert on everything.
Just most things. Nope, not. So yeah, cool, groovy, yeah, wow.
So hi. I've got no idea. I was thinking, I was thinking of making this episode something special, but I kind of couldn't think of what to do.
It's like, should I do a live broadcast on Facebook? But I don't know. You know? I really, I'm not sure. So, I thought, because I kind of want to, kind of want to celebrate five years, because it's over five years now, but it turned five years, I think the end of, was it March, I think, of doing these recordings.
And then, then I thought, well, five years, and it's coming up to the 1000th episode. I mean, perhaps I should have just done two separate recordings to celebrate each individual event. But I didn't.
So there you go. That was a boring sentence, wasn't it? That was one of the most boring starts to a podcast anyone has ever made ever in the history of Everness. Everness! So yeah, it's been a weird, weird period where I am.
Just, strange times. Strange, strange times here. But for some reason today, I have, yeah, I'm in an okay place.
Woken up feeling all right. Wow. I think the weather helps.
Having a really nice sunny day after, well, months and months of pretty dreary weather does, it does have an effect, I think, on me a little bit. It has an effect on everybody. I'm not talking about everybody else, I'm just talking about myself.
It does have an effect, I think. A positive effect. And, yeah, I've been out a couple of times already today with the little one.
But I can't go too far because I'm waiting for a delivery. So I can't, I can leave the house, but I can only really cross the road and go to the green, you know, the bits where we can do a wee-wee or whatever. So I can keep an eye on the outside of the house because the delivery I've got needs to be signed for.
Well, not signed for, I have to give a code because it's, well, what I've ordered, it's on Amazon. And I'll tell you exactly what it is because, wow, he's making a lot of noise, isn't he? He's really enjoying that little baby's shoe thing. What have I done? Return order, okay.
Okay, right, here we go. So what I've ordered, and this is something I need. It's not something I particularly wanted to buy, to be honest, but it's something I needed for this stuff.
It's a WD 10TB, so 10TB Elements Desktop External Hard Drive, USB 3.0 Black. So I think the USB 3.0 is the one that will go into my laptop. It's, there was a 20TB, but that was just ridiculous.
I just couldn't afford that. So I couldn't really afford this one either because it's expensive. There was a 5% discount on it, 211 pound.
But what they've done is they've allowed me to pay it over four months. So I'm paying, I can't remember what it is now. I got an email from them to tell me.
It's broken up into four months. Let's have a look. Let's have a look.
Come on. Right. It's £42.20 a month.
So when your product dispatches, £42.20, I paid that. 30 days from the shipment date, £42.20, which is the 2nd of June. And then the 2nd of July, £42.20. The 1st of August, £42.20. And then the 31st of August, £42.20. So the total amount, including applicable tax and shipping charges, £211.
So I'm waiting for it to be delivered today. And I guess because I'm paying by installments, they need to ensure that I've actually received it. And I suppose part of the given a password number thing or code ensures that the deliverer has delivered it and that I've received it.
It kind of covers both, I guess. So it covers the deliverer to prove that they delivered it and the code. And it proves that I must have known that I received it because I'm the only one that knows the code.
It makes sense to me. Because normally I just put a note on the door, leave the stuff outside. I don't want to see you.
Just leave it outside. Thank you very much. But in this case, I do have to answer the door.
So this is coming today. 10 terabytes. Still not enough, but it'll do for now.
The 20 terabyte one was £420.99. But they're also saying, so the one I got is £211 without expert installation. But to include installation, it's £59.29. So I'm wondering, what does that mean? What does that mean? Because I've already got a WD Elements hard drive, but it was like 2 terabytes. I had it 10 years ago or something, pretty long ago actually.
And someone from America actually bought it for me and sent it to me. And I think it was even more money than this one cost. I'm pretty sure they didn't even have 10 terabytes, you know, external hard drive available to buy back then.
They might have done, but I don't remember there being anything that large. Now, the reason I need so much space is because I've got so much stuff. I've got thousands and thousands of recordings.
I've got thousands of videos. I mean, literally, and I'm making new videos, which are going to be 10 hours long. And they're averaging about 50, 50 plus gigabytes each.
So for every terabyte, for every 100 megabytes, I've got two videos. So that's 20 videos per terabyte times by 10. So 200 videos.
Now, some videos are 79 megabytes, gigabytes, whatever. So I'm probably get about 150 videos out of this stored on this one external drive, which isn't a lot, is it? Really? 150 videos? Really? So, I mean, it seems OK, I'm uploading them to YouTube. So they are kind of safe.
But then they're not because I actually tested it. I uploaded some videos that were 10 hours long onto YouTube. I didn't release them, but I uploaded them.
And they did take hours and hours to upload and then hours and hours to process. And then once it was processed, I watched it and it was fine. It was really good.
Like, wow, this is good. I remember thinking to myself, yeah, this is good. I really should remember to tell people about this.
And then I thought, OK, next step, which was part of the process that I was going to do next, download the video from YouTube onto my computer. Because I know that when it gets downloaded, as soon as it gets uploaded to YouTube, they reduce the size by a lot. So that 48 terabytes might end up being, I don't know, 700 megabytes, something like that.
They really reduce it down a lot because they have the technology to do that. Now, I might need to look at maybe ways of doing that myself before uploading it. So I'm going to look online maybe to find a way, maybe some kind of app that will reduce the size of the file without reducing the quality.
So I'll have to look into that so that I can get more. But anyway, so the idea, knowing that YouTube reduced the sizes of the files, so if I was to upload a one gigabyte file, video file to YouTube and then download it again, it will be probably, I don't know, 70, maybe 70 megabytes. As an example, I mean, it might be more or less, but as an example, a lot less.
A lot less than what it was originally. And I've done this in the past, but unfortunately, because of the size of the file, YouTube just won't download it. It attempts to, to do what I ask, to download the 10-hour video onto my laptop.
It won't do it. And that is a little bit, well, I don't know, because part of my idea was to use that as a reduce in the size, upload it, then download it. Or upload it at the original size, leave it there, download it so it's at the smaller size and then save that one into the external hard drive.
So I do have an external hard drive, but I think it's two or three terabytes. It might be four terabytes. But that's not far off being full up.
And I've got, I think I've got one terabyte on the actual laptop. It might be two terabytes. So I've got a bit of storage, but it does take up a lot of memory and a lot of energy on the actual laptop.
And I need that. God, he's making so much noise. He's actually louder than I am.
Not that I'm loud, but you know what I mean. He's making more sound than I am. Oh dear, it's a coronation here this weekend coming up.
It's basically the the King, the new King of England or Commonwealth or Britain or I don't know what it is, but and he's being crowned. He's already the he's already the Queen, the King, but it's like the official coronation. So he's been the King since I think pretty much the day after the Queen passed away.
Now it's kind of the coronation is the official ceremony thing. And that's I don't know what day is it? I think it's Saturday or Sunday or Monday. I don't know.
I think there's a bank holiday weekend this weekend coming. So I watched it on telly. I mean, it's kind of like how when am I ever going to see a coronation? I've never seen one before and I may never see another one.
Another one? I mean, there's a chance I could, I mean could maybe, might see Prince William get get crowned. I don't know. I don't know.
But you know, hopefully that's a long way away because a King Charles can have a nice reign. So yeah, I'm going to watch that on a telly. I thought I'd just be I'm not a royalist but I'm not an anti-royalist.
I'm not a Republican. I'm not anything really. I'm just some bloke and I don't really have strong views about that stuff.
But I noticed that the news really they're they're prodding it. They're prodding it for no good reason really. They're going into the streets of towns around the country saying asking them what do you think? Do you think the monarchy should be got rid of? Or do you me, me, me, me, me, me, me.
I reckon most people are just walking around their lives doing their business not even thinking about the royal family. Not it's not even something that people are really thinking about because they're doing their own thing. They'll be thinking about it on Saturday maybe.
Or if they're planning street parties and such like. But you know when someone's walking down the street doing their shopping they're probably not thinking about too much other than the shopping that they're doing. Well I imagine I don't know I've not been inside anyone else's head for at least a week I'm not sure.
But you know I've not really understood why some people have such strong views about things like that when it comes to royal family or or anything in a way. I mean I do understand some things if it affects you personally but yeah it doesn't I know the royal family is very popular in other countries as well like our royal family this one here but also other countries have their own royal families that are absolutely worshipped like Thailand's one the royal family there is is at a much higher level than the royal family is here to their people.
They are really very much attached to the royal family there they love them it's a very it's not just for us the royal family here is for some people it's like entertainment it's kind of a gossip column in the newspaper what's Prince Harry doing now oh he's falling out of his brother Willy and oh mmm they've had a baby mmm they've done a Netflix documentary he's writing a book and it's like it's amazing how does anyone actually care about that stuff outside of his own family circle I mean are people actually interested or I don't
know I've not watched the documentaries on Netflix and I've not read his book and it's not that you know I'd like to support him I'd love to be able to write his book because I know he needs the money but I just I don't I don't understand what the are people interested is there a public interest I don't know I really don't I'm not sure I was see I remember the royal family growing up not all of them obviously but Prince Charles remember I was I watched Prince Charles and Princess Diana get married she was
Lady Diana at that point until she got married and I was in Wales on holiday with my family because I was nine years old ten maybe a bit too young to be going to Wales on my own basically that's what I kept telling my parents so I I don't want to go on my own can you go with me I can't drive so we went to we were sitting there I remember it was a nice I think it was a nice day and we had mountains around us and it was very Wales is a very
beautiful place if you've never been to Wales and if you don't know I'm not talking about the the fish I'm talking about the the country the the part of the world Wales it is a beautiful beautiful place as is Scotland as is as is parts pretty much parts of everywhere in the world are beautiful aren't they but I can't talk for places that I've not been to I can't really say oh Mexico is beautiful which it probably is but I've not been there you know I've seen documentaries but I can't really talk about some place
that I've not been I can and I will and I'll probably pretend I've been there but that's besides the point I I've been to Wales multiple times when I was a kid and a couple of times when I was an adult as well and it is a it's a very beautiful place it's scenically it's wonderful it's really lovely and I yeah I just remember I vaguely I don't remember remember remember almost like photographically because I don't I don't really but I have a vague memory of sitting blimey will you shut up I'm trying to tell
a really exciting story here yeah good he's listened we we're sitting outside the tent because we were camping which is why I don't camp now because I never liked it I just the only thing I liked about camping okay the only thing was laying inside the tent when it was raining hard you know that sound of the rain on the on the tent it was just like oh beautiful sound I like it a lot I really do like it outside of that I mean really it's I know maybe not everyone agrees with this but for
me a holiday is a break so if you go on holiday you don't take your family with you you go away on your own it's like it's not a break if the people that annoy you annoy you all year round are with you there how could it be so I'd be going on holiday with the parents and my three brothers and it was just a different place to be annoyed a different place to wind each other up and argue it ruined it you know if they weren't there not all of them really if it was
just me on my own I'd probably well I wouldn't have eaten would I because I couldn't cook I didn't have any money so yeah probably me on my own wouldn't be great but I think if I'd have had a book in a hotel room and everything was paid for I think I'd have been ok as long as I had a book to read and television to watch I'd have been fine that's all I needed in life back then but yeah it's not really a holiday if you I know some people love their family some people
love going away with people that you know they care about which is brilliant but it's not a break is it it's not a rest from the people I mean it's a break from work obviously you know if you're working and you're getting away from the people you work with and it's nice to have a break from that I guess but I kind of found I've always got on better with people I work with than people I live with even when I first got my very first full time job in the chip shop I preferred the
people I was working with to the people I was living with and part of that was because I was a very I don't know I was going through a bit of a weird period where I didn't I wasn't a big fan of anyone at the time but then I was 15 years old so I was going through that awkward stage I was still waiting to come out of it to be honest and I just I was sleeping on a camper bed in the living room of my step mum's mother's flat so she had her room
and then my step mum stayed in a spare room with my little brother who was 7 years old or something and I slept in the living room on a camper van camper van?
did I say camper van? camper bed there wasn't actually a camper van in the room because it was in a block of flats that was quite high up how would you get a camper van up there? you'd have to take all the windows out the roof off it's just not practical but it was a camper bed so like a fold up bed does that make sense? I'd have to explain everything it'd be much easier if this was a video and I could just show you a picture of a camper van but then it's not a camper van is it?

holding their own kind of but I do notice that when I don't make any recordings for a while you know the the stats do go down which I guess is bound to happen but it's I don't know it's a little bit a little bit sad it's just like I'd really like it to go up without me having to do anything but then that's just laziness isn't it it's LAAAAAAAZY Lazy Lazy Jasey that's me hmm oh yeah so I'm in Wales and I'm outside we've got like this tarpaulin over the the edge of the tent there's
a big old tent I think there was i think i might be wrong but i think there was enough well there was i'll tell you how many of us there were there was the two parents me and my three brothers so what's that one two three four five six six people so yeah there was six of us and i think we all had our own bedrooms not bedrooms like little pouches really but yeah i didn't need a lot of space because i was tiny in fact i think i just kept me in the dashboard of
the car i'm not sure but yeah i was i was pretty little i didn't need a lot of room i slept in one of the bags so yeah it was it was all right i remember we were watching the we were watching the royal wedding at the time it's the second royal wedding that i watched was i was in the chip shop and i think it was 1987 i think and it was prince andrew and fergie i forget what our first name is but yeah so they got married and they that was i watched that
at the chip shop actually we had it on live as television often is but we had it on we watched it while we were working and i remember that and that was in color i mean it was in color the prince charles wedding was in color as well but we didn't have a colored television with us we had a black and white television i think and everything was kind of running off of batteries and stuff like that so it was yeah it was i mean the interesting thing well it's not what is kind of interesting
i'm not sure if it's this particular trip but one of the trips we took we had this trailer with all the stuff in the back plus there was stuff in the back of the car as well but we had this big trailer and it was you know ones that the other ones were two wheels and it's attached to the car with that big attachment stick thing well we were on our way to wales and the thing just fell apart literally we were going down a country road and the trailer just disintegrated and just went in
all directions the wheels were running off in different directions if you know and the car really kind of wobbled a bit and my dad managed to stop the car safely now if that happened on the motorway wow you all don't want to think about it which makes you wonder why i brought it up but yeah luckily there was no one else around and my dad found because we was in a farm area he found someone on a farm local that had a welding kit and he got it fixed fixed yeah we carried on he got
it fixed together and everything with some uh super glue or something i don't know but it was like it's a bit string but it was really close it was it's like i remember what we're looking and we got out of the car and the wheels were still going like moving in different directions heading towards another road it's like whoa never never been in that situation before or since thankfully it wasn't nice actually but i think i think my dad made the trailer himself and maybe others who knows what happened it could have just i mean
wales is a long way from where i was living it wasn't a short trip it was a good like eight eight hours on the road maybe longer to get to where we were going now we weren't going full pelt the whole time we stop in and you know you've got if you've got 30 kids in the car they'll want to go toilet why didn't you go when we left before we left i did but it was nine hours ago fool do you know why did i go before okay of course i went before i went
i was i wasn't hungry when i left i'm hungry now look at me look at me dad i've got gray hairs for being in here so long i never said any of that i remember while when i was in ireland living with andre and his parents and not andre the ferret andre the original the original andre and we were just walking we were walking into town and it's a good like two hours into town it's a long old walk all through these forests and stuff and we got a lift we like his is i don't
think it was his auntie or something stopped and gave us a lift but the problem was there was only room for one person in the back so no no there was two of us no yeah we got in two of us and then they stopped and picked someone else else up but they're all kind of elderly ladies not this is really relevant but they said are you gonna have to sit on each other's laps obviously you can't both sit on each other's laps one has to sit on the other lap so andre sat on my
lap and i said what i thought was the funniest thing probably i've ever said but in probably it wasn't actually but it just seemed like a really funny thing to say and just came off the top of my head just said it so he he sat down my lap and i said oh andre you put on weight and i think for me was saying like it just sounded like a funny thing to say you know i was 24 years old and i don't think the parents were that open-minded and andre laughed and i laughed that
meant it's probably not funny now but it just seemed funny at the time and there's a couple of things i've said in the past that really tickled me when i said them and then right after the event i'm like oh i'm not sure if that was actually funny why was i laughing so much uh one that i've mentioned before was the was that i was yeah i was at work working this this factory again it was andre involved that's weird isn't it and my friend terry who i was working with it it'd been it'd gone
off for five minutes and i saw i was just i think i was changing the machine changing the tape in the machine or whatever and andre was the supervisor of my of my department that's how i kind of got to know him but i knew him before he was a supervisor but i met him at work that's how i got to know him and terry came in and i needed to see andre and i said terry probably didn't say terry because he knew what his name was and if you don't have to say someone's name
when you're talking to them especially if there's no one else in there you know if you're in a crowd and you're trying to get their attention yeah you can use their name but if it's just you and them you never need to use their name it's just not necessary it's you know so if you do it stop stop now thank you very much and i said terry terry terry terry listen terry terry terry terry terry terry listen terry terry guess what terry let me ask you a question terry i said have you seen andre because
i needed to speak to him i don't know what it was i think there was a problem with or something have you seen do you know where andre is and terry said yeah um i just passed him in the toilet now i laughed because i was imagining pooing him out i was imagining terry pooing andre out like yeah i passed him in the toilet like that made me laugh literally rolling around on the floor now i was 23 at the time so i don't know if that's got anything to do with it and i don't
know and i still think it's kind of humorous but but then you've got to know the person if you imagine terry was he was like a giant but a small version if that makes sense he was big but he was short probably shorter than me i'm quite sure but he's but he was really wide and he was a weightlifter so he would have lifted me up no problem so it would have been easy for him but he i love terry i really i spent a lot of time with him and i i did i was
a little bit sad how it worked out with me and him because he was a magician and that was his passion and photography i think but he loved he loved doing magic and he was older than me i don't know how much more older but maybe he might have had 10 years on me possibly and he once i left working there i gave him my magic stuff because i was going to be moving away so i i got interested in magic he was interested in magic i think he he rekindled my interest in magic and
as i talk about i'm still a little bit interested in magic it's weird i don't know why but i had magic tricks and stuff when i was a kid for christmas birthdays those you know the magic boxes that would have a rope trick and a magic wand and maybe a trick with a coin a pack of cards i mean close-up magic and magic like that is actually i would i would say more fun to do than to watch in a way it's it's just fun and as i talk about it i kind of want to
do it i'll start having some fun and it was fun and you can play around and it people are impressed with it because it takes a huge amount of skill and the knowledge behind it especially with things like um not mesmerism what's it called mentalism to be able to you know say to someone i'll think of a color and you tell them what the color is and they say no and you say our buddha was this and you've got it written down um underneath your shoe you take your shoe off and you say ah see
i was just joking this is the color you think that wasn't it i look at you with awe like no it wasn't either he said oh but i knew that all along and you run up and you just chuck a a pack of cards and maybe a cut of seagulls at a window and then inside the window there's a big big poster which says this is the color isn't it pointing to a color which is you know the color that you're and they say how much effort have you put into this i mean you're getting
it wrong every time but i've got to admire the effort i mean you must have spent a lot of time putting this trick together and i don't know who you are it's like random in the street i've just come out to buy some sanitary towels and you're you're doing these magic tricks i'm not you know i'm impressed i'm not impressed with your skill because you've got everyone you've got it wrong every time but wow as far as your you get up and go and your your determination and your preparation is second to none even though
you're not very good at it it's it's it's you know good luck to you and i went home and i felt good about myself yeah but anyway what i did is i gave my eyes some magic books and some magic tricks and stuff i gave them to terry i met him on the way home from work and he was on his bike and i gave them to him because i was gonna move out i was gonna i didn't know what i was gonna do but i didn't it was just too i just i don't want
it i guess it's a gift kind of i probably had a couple of hundred pounds worth of books and equipment not not a huge amount but you know it's a couple of carrier bags full and i gave them to him and he didn't usually have many tricks on him he would have a pack of cards and he'd like play around with them and due to break time he'd shuffle them and yeah that's all i can remember but it was a little bit sad because i went back a couple of years later and just did a
couple of shifts at that place and he didn't even talk to me he was like hello and that was it right all those we spent years together and oh but then i'm quite unmemorable i contacted this lady that i was i wasn't involved with like in a relationship but i was i really liked her a lot and this was back in the comedy days just the end like the late 90s about 97 it would have been maybe early 98 i really really liked her and she was a comedian i was a comedian and all that
stuff and i knew her for a couple of years i didn't last time i saw her she came to the comedy club with her sister i think and then they left and i didn't get a chance to really speak to her but i contacted her and like recently i thought i remembered her name which is weird i just i'd i'd forgotten her name i remember the first name i always remembered that but for some reason it came to me what her surname was so i just put going to facebook to find out if such a
person existed and yeah it does so when i left her i looked at her like yeah it's her and she has videos and it's her still speaks the same and she look she doesn't look the same as she did i mean none of us do 30 years ago but she still looks you still see it's her that makes sense still it's like wow so i sent a message and she had no idea who i was didn't remember me at all we should speak on the phone like you know maybe once i phoned her up and

the uh yeah i had to give them oh vinnie's squeaking had to give them the oh he's scratching at the door now blessing all right vinnie be there in a minute i mean part of the reason i got this door open here is so i could hear the front door from when they made the delivery normally when i put him in the bedroom i close this door as well uh i didn't realize that he barked he can't be missing me can he i mean he spends pretty much 24 hours a day with me you'd think
he'd enjoy the break wouldn't you you think of anything they'd be having a party in there maybe that's what it is maybe whenever he does he's break dancing or he's doing karaoke it's like it just sounds like he's squeaking anyway so uh my external hard drive has been delivered now so that's good which means i don't have to stay indoors anymore i might pop out and get to the shop and i want to get him some bones because they last him longer those little booty things children's booty things they're because they're not very big but
i think because of the way they're shaped he gets through it quicker the the bone shaped things are thicker still the same material i think but they just seem to last it take him takes him longer to dissect them to get them apart i think to break them up so i might try and get some of them today i'll take him there he loves going to the sweet shop but yeah this is the thousandth episode it's a bit um anti-climax maybe i don't know never mind i in it so thank you for listening remember to
