Hello and welcome to let me bore you to sleep with the background sounds of one tiny little dog and one huge huge dog chomping away at various items. And so they're with me for the duration of this recording. Now although you will hear them, well you might not hear them like really loud hopefully, but you may hear them in the background.
Like the loud set, the louder sound is the bigger dog. But Vinnie is there as well doing his thing. The thing about it is when his friend is here, Vinnie doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is because that might sound a bit unkind, being bothered. I don't mean bothered as in like, but I do mean bothered. Yeah, bothered.
Basically, he most of the time when I make a recording, he will start wanting my attention. You can hear the big one drinking. Don't drink it all mate.

It's the same website address, but it's a new designed and my website is now a podcast. And it's groovy. I think it still needs work, but I'm juggling.
You know, I'm juggling things at the moment. And it's, it's quite hard to work on a website when you're juggling. You know, perhaps if I stop juggling, then it's like, well, put the balls down for a bit and work and concentrate on that.
Okay, but I like juggling. What can I say? It's not just balls. It's also those stills as well.
I like juggling them. If I was strong enough, I would juggle cars, but I'm not quite up there yet. So what am I talking about? Oi, don't be destroying the place anymore than you already have.
Oh, now he's looking around. What can I do? He's bored now. He's up here.
I think he's eating this, this little bone that takes Vinnie hours to get through. The other dog can get through in minutes. He like just breaks it in half, chews on it and just swallow.
He doesn't, you know, it doesn't even get any joy, enjoyment out of it. He just eats it. But one of the things that I find quite interesting is the big one will eat something or break something into bits and then leave it on the floor for Vinnie to get.
So it's smaller so he can, that he can't just share stuff with him. And Vinnie, he lets Vinnie nick stuff from him. He doesn't get angry.
So, you know, when I first got Vinnie and knowing what I know about the other dog, I thought, will he turn? Because he's never been a friend of dogs. He doesn't like dogs generally. And not Vinnie, the other dog.
He's getting confusing. Yeah, probably. But he adores, they just adore each other, like really, really love each other.
And, and I've, I've never seen that before. I've definitely not seen the other dog be like that with a dog. A dog, dog, with a dog, other dog, with a dog.
Never seen a dog be like that with a dog before. A dog, dog, dog, dog. So yeah, and oh yeah, my website.
Did I say only listen when you can safely close your eyes? I try and say that every time. I usually say it about five times, just to make sure I don't miss saying it. And the so I've been working on the website.
I haven't been working on a website, actually. I need to do some stuff on it. But I have been doing some other things, which I won't mention.
It's just other things behind the scenes. Got a few little plans, a few little ideas I'm testing out. Hopefully will be, you know, just to reach a larger audience.
The YouTube channel is going all right. It's slow, but it's going fairly okay. So I'm, you know, I'm like, I'm pleased with how it is.
It's, you know, it's not, it's not breaking any records. But it is growing gradually. Ali.
So that's the good thing. I mean, now got 917 subscribers. You know, it's not a huge amount, but in the last 28 days, I've had just under 9000 views.
So it's, it is, it's getting there. The last 48 hours, 834 views. And it's, it's weird was not weird necessarily.
But between midnight and five o'clock, that's when I get the most views. UK time. So between midnight and five o'clock, so this is today.
Okay, so yeah, it is UK time, midnight five, which is part of the reason why I upload my podcasts at that time. And I do upload my videos, I schedule them for about two o'clock. You can say that's why I get the views because that's when they get uploaded.
But yeah, but no. Because, you know, the most recent recording I've had 35 downloads, which is since you know, 2345. So that's 1234 in 15 hours.
So you know, it's not I'm not going to be competing with any of the bigger channels. I like now. But it's okay.
So I should hopefully get 1000 subscribers. What is it now? March near the end of the month. So 29th, Wednesday, 29th.
Thursday, Friday, so Friday's the last day of March. Saturday is the first of March. And the reason I remember that is because Anthony Joshua is fighting in the first of April.
Yep. And so he's fine. He's 33 years old.
He's accomplished a lot. How can about we started so yet so late in life. But he's not old.
He's 33. And he's won the world heavyweight title twice, not just one title. But well, he's won the world heavyweight title.
123 times. To start with, because he won the he won his first heavyweight title from I can't remember his name now. He I don't want to say bad things about people, but wow, he wasn't.
He was Charles Martin. So he won the world title from Charles Martin. And I mean, it's I don't know what it was about him.
I think one of the problems with Charles Martin is okay. We'll go to Charles Martin because this I've got a story about him, not about him. It's not personal, not personal thing.
Same age as well 33. So I know it might from my memory. The only reason he won the world title is because his opponent got injured during a fight.
And I think he was ahead on points and then they so they gave him the title, you know, the other person couldn't carry on. And it wasn't a headbutt or anything like that. So I'm just going to check this out to make sure.
So okay. He won the heavyweight title is a vacant title. So the person they were both fighting for the title for the first time.
Vasilev Gaskov. Okay. And he was really good.
I'm not saying I mean, Martin was also at that point unbeaten. When he fought for that title. I don't see anyone on his record that I can that I'd know.
But a lot of I think all these fights seem to be in America. And I do know a fair few American fighters. But yeah, so I don't he didn't come because the reason I'm saying that this is boring, isn't it? But not for me.
The reason I say it because some people like for example, Wilder, Wilder came to England and knocked out Audley Harrison before he became world champion. So he did come here and and also Wilder was a big name long before he became world champion. Because of his it was knocking everyone out.
So he got people excited. This is Deontay Wilder. And what other Wilders do you know that box? Well, I know someone called Tommy Wilder.
And I'm sure there was someone called Douglas Wilder. But now you're making that up. Deontay Wilder, the only one.
What about Kim Wild? Nice. That was her name. Yeah, but it wasn't Wilder's Kim Wild.
She was a singer. What about Marty Wild? That was her dad. Stop it.
So I I didn't know really know who this bloke was. But I had heard of him. Because as I follow boxing, I really I knew that he'd had that fight and he'd won the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
Now, this Okay. Fury's recognition is okay. Basically Fury got stripped of the IBF championship.
All his recognition was withdrawn after he for whatever reason. So because he'd beaten Vladimir Klitschko previously. So Glasgow, I'm probably pronouncing it wrong, was matched with Charles Martin for the vacant title.
And this was in the 16th of January 2016. Okay, the bout which took place as I'm reading this, took place at the Barclays Centre in Brookline, ended when Glasgow suffered an injury to his knee in the third round that rendered him unable to continue. So I mean, that's a really unusual way to win a world title.
So Charles Martin won the world title from that. Now, let's have a look. Okay, but wow.
He had a similar thing happen in the semi-finals of the 2008 Olympics. He had to pull out due to an elbow injury. Oh, wow, that's really bad luck, isn't it? So he could have, he might have gone on to win an Olympic gold because he got through to the semi-finals and he was really good.
So he might have gone, oh wow, but we'll never know because he then turned professional in 2009 and he had 21 wins, 13 knockouts, one draw and of course a loss against Charles Martin when his knee was injured. It was an anterior cruciate ligament injury and this is the crucial part. The injury eventually forced him to retire from the sport.
So this was someone that was a future star, very likely he would have been, well he would have been a contender, well he was a contender for the world champion, wasn't he? But he was anyway and based on Charles Martin, how he's been since he won the world title, I think Glascov very likely would have knocked him out or would have won. So how, isn't that such a shame that someone, and he's now 38, he's from the Soviet Union, now, okay, so he's from Ukraine, it used to be called the Soviet, Luhansk Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, but it's now the Ukraine, okay, let's not get into that politics.
So in the Olympic Games he won the bronze because he got through to the semi-finals, so I guess they must have given the bronze to, did they, I wonder if they shared the bronze because that's not fair, is it? Because two people get through, four people get through to the semi-finals, don't they? No, two people get through to the semi-finals, four people get through to the semi-finals, no, four people, so there's two semi-finals and then there's the final.
So if you lose the semi-final, if you win the semi-final, you go on to the final and then the other two people get the bronze, but if he pulled out of the semi-final, does that mean that the person that he pulled out from automatically went into the final or does it mean that the person, I'm confusing myself now, let me have a look, let's, should we check it, shall we? Let's check it. Pulled out, oh, pulled out of bout, so was he actually in the, was he actually in the fight?
Oh my gosh, it was Silly Zhang, Silly Zhang, he's a Chinese boxer, he's huge, he's about a thousand foot tall, he's six foot six, so he's not that high, but he's really big, he's a big, big like head weight I guess, so he must have, but 2008, 2008, so who did, well, so that's, this is, what, as a super heavyweight, defeated 2111, oh okay, he defeated Zhang Li in the past, ah, that's interesting, so he also defeated Oscar Rivas, who was quite a big name a while back, Robert Kamali is another one, he lost to him, oh okay, didn't he win the gold?
Who won the gold, who, who, who, who, 2008, 9, 10, 11, it's 2008, this is ages ago isn't it, no, this is a long time ago, this, it doesn't make sense, wow, so yeah, so he turned professional in 2008, 2009, and he didn't get a world title shot until 2016, that's nearly 10 years, or seven years, if you, if you add it correctly, seven years, and he's, and he had no losses during that time, one draw, why did it take so long?
I don't understand, that's very strange, that doesn't make sense to me, and the Vyacheslav Glazkov, who I'm talking about, he's got some well-known names on his reservoir as well, so Malik Scott, he's someone I know, Thomas Admex, Derek Rossi, you've heard of him, Darnell Wilson, heard of him, Steve Cunningham, Tyson Few fought him, Kirsten Maxwell, did you know that there was a boxer, I think he was a world champion called Kermit, seriously, it was, I just, Kermit, I thought it was a made-up name, Kermit, yeah, because of Kermit, and the Muppets, Kermit, it's like, what?
Anyway, so he lost, lost to, in the, so he defeated Robert, so the saying is, did he go on to win the Olympics, so 2008, he won the silver, so who did he lose to then, 2008, 2008, 2008, I'm getting very, very confused, he lost to Robert Camarelli as a super heavyweight, 2008, 9, 10, 11, 12, okay, so 2012 was Joshua, 30, 40, 50, so 2016, Joe Joyce was in the final with French heavyweight, so, yeah, so, Roberto Camarelli, he hasn't turned professional, why hasn't he turned professional, do you know, I don't understand, he's 43
now, but he's really done well, he was at three different Olympics, he won bronze 2004, he won gold in 2008, super heavyweight boxing, and then he won silver in 2012, against Joshua, blimey, and he's beat loads of people, but he never turned professional, why didn't he turn professional, I'm very surprised, 12, oh, this is interesting, so 2013, he defeated Tony Yoka at the world championships, now, 2016, Tony Yoka went on to win the gold in the super heavyweight, against Joe Joyce, and I think two weeks ago, Tony Yoka got beaten by, I forget his name
now, there's too many names to wow, oh, blimey, he defeated Tony Tokyo Yoneo in 2011 as well, wow, this bloke, this Roberto Camarelli, why, and he looks, it looks like Klitschko, so that's weird, he actually looks like Klitschko, so he's probably, he won the super heavyweight bronze medal 2004, amateur medals, why are they picking on that one, he won the super heavyweight bronze medal at the 2004 summer Olympics, and a silver medal at 2000 European, why would they not focus on the fact that he won the gold medal of the 2008, Beijing, Beijing Olympics, how
weird, he, wow, place at European, anyway, we didn't turn professional for some reason, I don't know why, why didn't he turn professional, I mean 2013, so he won the Olympics, he lost to Joshua in 2012, and the only, so he got the silver medal 2012, which is 13 years ago, which would make him 30, I mean maybe that is too old to turn heavyweight, to turn professional rather, but it's not really, Joe Joyce did it, wow, anyway, Silly Zhang is, why was I even talking about him, so here's the point I'm making, if there is
a point, that Zhang Zilly is, is facing Joe Joyce in a few weeks, he did lose recently, his first fight, the first time he ever lost was to I want to just check something out actually, because just trying to remember, yeah, he lost to Filip Hergovic, and that was a unanimous decision, so that was his only loss, so he's now, it's a WBO interim heavyweight title, he's fighting on April the 15th, which is a couple of weeks away, Filip Hergovic, yeah, Hergovic is fighting Wilder, and they haven't got a date yet, but he's supposed to
be fighting Wilder at some point, so I saw this Silly Zhang, I was, I don't know, for some reason it seemed like he was huge, now he is huge compared to me, and most people are huge, because I'm quite short, and but there's other heavyweights that are a lot taller, but the thing about him is, I've seen him a few times, you know, over the years, as he's been like, I think it's unusual, because he's Chinese, there's not a huge, I don't know why it's unusual, but just in the heavyweight division, there hasn't been a
heavyweight, a Chinese heavyweight, that's kind of made it big, so it's, I guess it's just not a novelty, but it's interesting, just the same way as if, I don't know, let's say there was a someone from another country, maybe they've never had a heavyweight world champion before, and Belgium maybe, I don't know, that might be a novelty for people, I don't know, I really don't know, I mean, so he had a fight that I actually thought was good, where he fought a bloke called Jerry Foster, Jerry Forrest, now he knocked Jerry Forrest down, I think,
and they're not even mentioning it here, not even putting anything down, and that was a memorable fight, he knocked Jerry Forrest down, I think, for the either three or four times in the first four rounds, the first five rounds or whatever, and so he was clearly in the lead, and it was, it looked like it was only a matter of time before he knocked him out, well, Jerry Forrest came back in a big way, now I reckon the reason they've not highlighted his name in the list is because they've mentioned him here, they've mentioned him
here somewhere, oh yeah, okay, here we go, it turns, oh no, they're not actually given why, I don't understand that, that was a good fight, because basically Forrest came back and started to outpoint Silly Zhang, like really, like was schooling him almost, and to outpoint someone who's knocked you down three times is very hard, because each round, so a round where you get knocked down and you get up, that's a ten, eight round, so you've lost two points, so he had to get, and you can pretty much generally only get one point per round, unless
you knock a person down, then you get two points, so to do what he did, to come back, he didn't win it, but it was a draw, and he acted like Jerry Forrest, he was elated, like he'd won the world title, because it was a draw, he was, I've never seen anyone happy to get a draw before, he's the first boxer I've seen, not just to be pleased he got a draw, because usually people are not happy with that, yeah, it's like well, no, it means we've got to do it again, which wasn't the case
for him, because Silly Zhang is a big name in the heavyweight division, and his management would not let him go anywhere near Jerry Forrest again, so that was never going to happen, because you know, having the draw is like, let's move on, let's forget it, we want you to be the world champion, which he might be in the future, because he's a big knockout artist, 24 wins, 19 knockouts, but he has lost by decision in his last fight, but then you know how the excuses come in, I mean excuses are fair, I mean it's just,
although Zhang, this is with Jerry Forrest, although Zhang started strong scoring three knockdowns in the opening three rounds of the bout, Forrest was able to battle his way back to earn a majority draw, the final score cards read 95-93 for Forrest, 93-93 and then 93-93, so what, okay, so one person actually had him ahead, but because two of them had it as a draw, they had to go for a majority draw, so technically you could say he won that fight, he didn't, but the fact that one of the judges had him two points ahead, but
the other two decided, no, I'm not saying they're corrupt, but they are clearly corrupt, not all of them, but there's corruption in the old boxing game, I mean he used to get run by the mob didn't he, in the old days, not just in America, but everywhere, it used to be dodgy here as well, if you see old footage and photographs of boxing matches from the 50s and the 40s and the 60s and whatever, all of that big name, the crime people were there, people that maybe the public didn't know about, but later on they
heard about, so you see a photograph of a fight from 19, I don't know, from like 10 years ago at Wembley Stadium and you see the front row, but you don't know at the time, you know Al Capone sitting there, it's like blimey, I thought he was dead, so he's fighting, so let's go back, so this Vyacheslav Glaskov very likely would have been a world champion, well I think he would have won the world title, and the reason I'm saying it is because hindsight has given me the opportunity to be really clever, so he won,
I don't know, why do they, they just say that he won the IBF heavyweight title from Vyacheslav Glaskov, as far as I'm concerned, right, they call me old fashioned, if someone injures themselves, if it's a headbutt, okay, they've got rules for that, they've got, you know, there's a thing they do, like a certain amount of points after a certain amount of rounds, whatever, if it's a foul, then the other person gets disqualified, so that's all makes sense, if somebody gets injured in the ring, not facially injured, you know, someone gets a broken eye socket, which
is horrible, but if that happens, then they lose, if they can't continue, they lose, because that's been caused by the other boxer, and whatever, you know, it sounds a bit vicious, doesn't it, but if their knee, if they slip on the canvas, or their knee just collapses underneath them, then, just, what's wrong with saying it's a no contest, no one's lost, so there's no, there's no loss on the person's record, and then schedule it to have another fight, another time, it's like, you can't say, well, the fans will lose out, they won't, because the fight's
been stopped anyway, I mean, how could someone feel good about winning a world title, when the only reason they won it, is because the other person's knee went, and they couldn't continue, that just seems unfair, doesn't it, don't you think, I don't know, I just, I'm pretty sure, I saw the fight on YouTube, or somewhere at the time, it's quite a long, it's quite a while ago, but it's a shame, because I might go and look back at some of his fights, because I think I had before, and he was really good, anyway, here's what
happened next, right, we're back on Charles Martin, so he won that title, he got given the IBF heavyweight title, because his opponent, it says TKO, technical knockout, what he knocked his knee out, things like that annoy me, I don't know why, it shouldn't really annoy me, but it's just like, it's not real, it's not even a technical, a technical knockout, is when the other person cannot continue, or it gets stopped, or whatever, because of the boxing, you know, anyway, in the build-up to, because Anthony Joshua fought him next, and that was a big payday for
Martin, Charles Martin, because it was at Wembley, if I remember rightly, let's have a look, yeah, no, it's O2 arena, so it's a big arena, Anthony Joshua was right from winning gold at the Olympics in 2012, he was on his way to, you know, he was destined to be the world champion, you know, he had a lot of money invested in him, his profile was very high, not just in this country, but in America as well, you know, he was, they really promoted him, and they fast-tracked him as well, because from 2012, he turned professional
in, I don't know if it was 2012 or 2013, 2013, blimey, he took a year off, so he turned professional on the 5th of October 2013, and he fought for the title in 2016, so 13, 14, 15, so two and a half years, only took him two and a half years to actually fight for world heavyweight title, that's Mike Tyson territory, that's about how long it took him from turning professional to get to win the world title, most people, I mean, Joe Joyce is taken, and Joe Joyce has won every single fight he's ever had,
and he's basically, well, where are we going, where are we going with this, okay, Charles Martin, Charles Martin, oh, where am I, okay, Joseph Parker, okay, Joe Joyce, Joe Joyce started quite early, he won the silver in 2016, again, October, so he started in October the next year, so he started 2017, and we're now in 2023, and he still hasn't fought for the world title, he did win the vacant interim WBO heavyweight title, which means that if the holder of the WBO title, who is Usyk, I think, if he doesn't defend it, or he gives
it up, or he gets stripped of it, or whatever, the person that holds the interim will keep it, that is my understanding, well, it basically means he's the mandatory, and they never used to have stuff like this back in the day, you know, 100 years ago when I was born, so there's a few, there's a lot of big names that have got interim titles, because there's so many unified world champions at the moment, and they hold all the belts, there shouldn't be, I personally, personally, you know, without being controversial, I would prefer, although I've never
known it in really, in my lifetime, I don't think, not being aware of it, where there was just one belt per weight, I mean, there's more weights than there used to be, they used to be like, I think, five weights, now there's 35 weights, you can go between weights, like three pounds, the weight of the average poo, and you'd find in a different weight level, and it's like what, so I think there's even, there's a weight that's not even recognized, it's so light, boxing weight classes, there is, I forget what it's called, I'm not even
making it up, boxing weight divisions, okay, you ready, you ready for this, oh come on, come on, come on, slow internet, yeah, right, heavyweight is unlimited, it's actually, in the Olympics, heavyweight is cruiserweight, or no, is it light heavyweight, yeah, something like that, so cruiserweight, yeah, okay, no, so wait a minute, I've got it wrong, so you've got, let's say you've got light heavyweight in the Olympics, cruiserweight in a professional, that would be heavyweight in the Olympics, and heavyweight in professional is super heavyweight in the Olympics, so that's, so heavyweight is unlimited, cruiserweight is 200
pounds, 91 kilos, heavyweight is unlimited, so you basically, you have 200 pounds, so I'm a heavyweight, yay, but it goes down, it says 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 different weight classes in professional boxing, 17, 17, in the Olympics, there's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, so I don't know what it used to be, but 17, so it goes all the way down, and the lowest one, because honestly, it is a flyweight, means featherweight used to be pretty much the lowest one in
my memory, but below that, you've got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, so you've got featherweight, which is 126 pounds, that's, I mean, that's really light, isn't it, 57 kilograms, 57 kilos in stone, because in the UK, well, I grew up to use stone, so it's 8.
9 stone, which is very light, it's a very lightweight, and where's it gone?
Okay, so that's featherweight, okay, and then you go down even further to 105 pounds minimum weight, minimum weight, that's 105 pounds, that's the weight of a baby, 105 pounds, a baby elephant maybe, but you know, you know what I'm saying, 105 pounds, which is 48 kilos, 48 kilos, really, seven and a half stone, that's the average weight of a 10 year old, now admittedly, I was only eight and a half stone when I left school, when I was 15, so I was very little for my age, but seven and a half stone, I was probably
that when I was about 12, 13, I didn't really have any major growth spurts really, I just, I think, I mean, I only, I've only started going through puberty last month, so it's blimey, seven and a half, 7.
5 stone, is that a half, it's five stone a half, I don't know, anyway, so that's it, it's not really relevant, I don't know why I'm even mentioning it, but what, what Joe Joyce has done, oh yeah, I want to go, I want to talk about the other one, oh Takam, he's the one that beats, what's his name, Takam is the one that beats the French fighter, oh come on, okay, so I want to talk about the the one that he won, when he won the world title, oh Charles Martin, Charles Martin in the build-up
to, he had an 85 day reign as champion, the second shortest in heavyweight boxing history, after Tony Tucker's 64 days, who lost to, who was also the IBF champion, who lost to Mike Tyson, and why he didn't start boxing till he was 22, wow, that's, that's pretty amazing, isn't it, the thing is, what I struggled with him a little bit, is in the build-up to the fight with Andy Joshua, in the face-to-face, you know, they have like this thing around the table, so they sit in either side of the table, and there's a person interviewing
them, and asking them questions, and they both answer, and it's in like a dimly lit room, and you know, it's all atmospheric, etc, and Charles Martin said the reason he was going to keep his world title, and beat Joshua, is because he was a god on this planet, he was a god amongst men, okay, that's, that's what he said, and right then, I wanted him to get beat, because it just, knowing what I knew, realizing how he'd won the title to start with, and not to say that he wasn't good, because he was a good
boxer, because obviously he got to the point of fighting for a world title, but when he fought Joshua, okay, basically Joshua punched him three times, each time he went down on his bum, and at the end of it, he got counted out, because he'd won the world title, that was it, it was, they had, it was a three, three time thing, so he chose to make his first defense of his title against rising British star, six thousand, 2012 Olympic, it was reported that Martin would bank six million pounds, that's 8.
5 million dollars for his defense against Joshua, I wonder what swayed it, hmm, so there was a lot of money invested in Anthony Joshua, so Joshua set the pace in the first round, and caped, this is what it's writing, and kept Southpaw Martin at bay, before sending him to the canvas with a straight right hand in the second round, Martin got on his feet, only to be knocked down for a second time by a similar punch, just moments later, this time Martin failed to beat the count, after taking too long to get up, I got,
in my memory, got knocked down three times, but no, he didn't get out quick enough, I personally think that the referee was a bit too quick to, to do that, because it was like a, a flash knockdown, he took too long to get up, I know there's a count, but come on, it's a world title fight, Tyson Fury got knocked unconscious by Wilder, in the first fight that they had, and the referee still gave him time to recover, you know, counted down, and he got up, now I've never seen a referee do that before, he
