Vinnie is in the background eating a bone. The only thing I can do to keep him quiet, although it doesn't actually keep him quiet, but it stops him pestering me, wanting my attention. Even though two minutes ago he was on the bed, happy to be left alone.
And as soon as I sit down at the desk, he's here. Now maybe he wants to go for a walk. But we literally got back 10 minutes ago.
I realise that time may go a little bit differently for little doggies than it does for little humans. But surely he has the memory, he must have some memory of something. Surely.
He knows where the treats are kept, so he has that memory, never forgets where his food is or where his water is, never forgets where his toys are, never forgets where my bed is or where his little bed is. Never forgets where the sofa is. Never forgets where the front door is, you know, when he wants to go out for a walk.
Never forgets what the word walk means. Never forgets what the word treat means. He never forgets what the word no means, although he does ignore it most of the time.
He knows what the word stop means, he ignores that also, most of the time. So yeah, does he just pretend to have forgotten, thinking that maybe I've forgotten that we've just been out for a walk, or daddy's taken me out again, I bet he's only just got back a little while ago, or maybe if I keep quiet, he's forgotten about it, I'd better not mention it, hee hee hee, I win again, hmm hmm, maybe, it's possible, I don't know. So what's happening, I haven't made a new recording for a few days, and I've been quite busy with some stuff, I had some neighbour problems the last few days, but before that, was it Friday now, so since Monday, yeah I had neighbour problems, and hopefully that's now resolved.
I had, I've been making videos for YouTube, and been working on the YouTube videos side of things, which has been quite consuming time-wise, and I think, I'm not 100% sure because it's hard to tell, but I think that having the videos on YouTube is sending traffic to my podcasts, and maybe the other way around as well, I don't know, but I think that maybe, I don't know, I need to find a way out, a way out, a way, I do need to find a way out, but I do need to find a way to get
those statistics, and at the moment my podcast doesn't offer such a thing, it lets me know what apps it's come from, lets me know what countries people are coming from, it doesn't let me know the websites, yeah the only way I can get it, if there's an embedded, if it's embedded in a website, then it will say it's come from that website, so from the websites, from my own website, it keeps track of the plays I have on there, and it tells me, oh you've had a few thousand plays from jasonnewland.
com, but it doesn't, yeah, it's just following the traffic as in people come to YouTube, and then from there they go to, maybe they Google my name or whatever, it's, yeah, it's hard, hard to kind of figure it out.
No doubt there's some kind of software that's available somewhere where I can track exactly what they do when people come to YouTube, but I don't know, I mean that sounds a bit hacky to me doesn't it, do you think?
It's not really any of my business where people go online is it really, you know, they go to YouTube, well this is mine where they go next, it's not, I want to know, but it's, yeah I do want to know, but no, only if they come to me, if they go to, I don't know, Popcorn Hub or whatever, I don't want to, you know, it's none of my business, but if it was, yeah, it'd be nice to know whether or not the YouTube videos are doing that, having a difference, but I think they are, I truly, truly, truly, truly do, truly, truly do.
Anyway, what's the latest with him? Did I mention that he did a wee wee on the floor? I might have mentioned this because I think it was a few days ago, he did a wee, now I didn't realise he did it on the carpet, I just saw a bit of water on the carpet in the bedroom and I thought, well maybe it was me, I don't know, I don't remember doing that, maybe I dropped some water or something and he walked to the, into the, you know, to the front door, I'm putting me hat on and me coat on and he just lets it all go, like just wee's everywhere.
Now, he's never done that the whole time I've had him, he got a little bit excited outside in the hallway when I first got in and he did a wee and, you know, but I think that was excitement and we hadn't quite worked out a system of communication at that point because he was new, well I was new to him and he was new to me and we came here and to him it was like a new land and so now though, pretty in tune, I would say, spending 24 hours a day practically with each
other, by the way is way too much time to spend with anybody, 24 hours a day, it's not right, you know, an hour a day is enough, an hour a week, personally I'd say probably an hour a month is about the right amount of time to spend with another person, that's about how much I can really do, an hour a month, I can have a good old chat once a month for an hour, not in my home, you know, in a coffee place or something like that, so no one ever comes in my home, that's
good, that's what I would prefer, just to go out somewhere for an hour a month, maybe three, every three months, once a year even, once a year, maybe an hour and a half once a year, mind you, if we say like five times in a decade, or better still, never, never, I don't know why, I don't feel the need to see people, I just don't have it, if I go out in the street and I see dog walkers and just people, that, that's me seeing people, that's enough, if I go to the petrol station, say
hello to the person behind the counter and maybe have a chat, you know, for 20 seconds, there's people behind me waiting to queue in, they'll say hello to Vinnie, because he likes to introduce himself to everybody, that's enough human communication and that's it, that's enough for me for, for the week really, I don't, don't feel the need to sort of like, I can't wait to get home to the person I'm with 24 hours a day, yeah, oh, oh, my chair's gone, this is stupid, why don't I get rid of this crappy chair, it is comfortable
but the noises it makes, that big old click, click, I won't edit it out because it's quite early in the recording, but I don't want that happening, you know, in two minutes time, because that'd be wrong, so what else has happened, there's not much happened, you know, sometimes I get out of, I get out of the, the rhythm, the rhythm of making these recordings and if I don't do it for a while, I see, I think, oh, I've got to think of something to talk about, but when I do them every day, I don't even
try and think of anything to think about, because it, it's a, it's not about anything, it's just talking, just, do you know, there isn't really a subject matter that I'm necessarily focusing on, and I could go through the stats, yeah, yeah, I did find, actually, there was something I wanted to talk about, as remembered just now, I'll open my iPad, let's have a look, here's something I was doing the other day, and Jason, go to my website, and okay, let me boil it to sleep, so we should restore podcasts, whoa, cancel, it doesn't work quite
so well on the iPad, as it does on the laptop, for some reason, no, that's no good, and no good at all, huh, maybe, I know what I need to do, maybe, baby, if I go in, see if I've got any reviews, this is just not working on the iPad, for some reason, works really well, oh, here we go, here we go, reviews for ASMR, deep sleep, whisper hypnosis, a great job doing podcasts, three out of five, three out of five, why not five out of five, got one out of five, and someone who didn't
like me, five out of five, it doesn't say when this was from, though, it doesn't have a date, this is on podparadise. com, okay, due to COVID, I have had to uproot from my home in New York, and I've landed, so this must be a couple of years back, I've landed back in a small hometown where I grew up, the change has been incredibly jarring, and not great for my anxiety, insomnia has been excruciating, and only adds to the negative feelings, I am constantly battling these days, I feel like I've tried every possible sleep podcast, and this one absolutely works the best for me, I am astonished at how much content Jason is able to put out, the hard work is recognised, and very much appreciated, thank you.
And I've got another one that's given me one out of five, I'm not going to read those ones out, okay, I'm just going to read the nice ones, is for every nice one you've got, you've got ones that aren't, and a lot of people complain moaning about the ads, five out of five, I'm not, what is this, I'm not convinced Jason, you love me to sleep, but you don't trick my brain, well that's a five out of five, I guess that was a jokey one, I'm not trying to trick anyone's brain, I wouldn't know how
to, this podcast has been really help, really helped my sleep, thank you so much, also, okay, I listen to him almost every night to fall asleep, his voice is very soothing, and it works almost every time to get me to sleep, great find, and then there's moaning about the birds in the background, see, yeah, well, there's a few nice ones there, what other ones have I got, nope, I can't go to that one, this one's got seal, okay, I was skeptical, it says the headline, I sleep within 15 minutes, I was skeptical about this, but
it does get me off to sleep within 15 minutes, even when I've been tossing and turning, I never get past my shoulders with the body scan episodes, that's cool, thank you, and the next one, thank you so much, this podcast is a godsend for anyone who just can't switch off, for me, I'm constantly worrying about how I should be keeping sleeping, but can't, however, listening to Jason talk about sleep at a gentle speaking volume is a slow, steady rhythm, sends me off so early, I especially like that he now releases two versions of each episode
to suit whether you relax to music or prefer silence in the background, thank you so much, so thank you, this is from 2020, so yeah, I've made some changes since then, this is again for the relax and sleep hypnosis daily one, this is on apple podcast, I'm not gonna read that, I'm not gonna read any negative ones, uh, as a college student of music, I tend not to get much sleep as it goes, as an ironic cherry on top of the sundae of life's cruel jokes, I'm also an insomniac, this podcast really helps, cheers Jason,

to listen to Jason's bore me to sleep podcast, but I found it oddly amusing, so it took a while to drop off, however, this whisper series sends me right off, never heard more than about seven minutes, thank you, well I'm happy to get you off, thanks for your kind words, and Noah Summers says, works every time, uh, as someone who struggles with anxiety at bedtime, this podcast has been a lifesaver, I have been listening most nights for the past two weeks, and it's worked every time, and it's also reassuring that I wake up and hear
the music playing, sends me right back to sleep, rather than letting anxious thoughts get back, so thank you, thank you very much, and uh, you are wonderful, and very, very handsome as well, thank you, very, very handsome, I'm quite surprised at how handsome you are, thank you, it didn't say that, uh, oh, someone did say, look, wow, this is true, this is, there's a real one, very sexy voice, listen to you, really turns me on, more, more, more, so yeah, that's uh, that's cool, thank you, um, probably the only person in the entire world that

But then there's no pressure is there I guess because nobody knows about me. I'm only I'm found by accident. Not promoted anywhere.
No one promotes me really. You know, so I'm not on any of the big websites are not just kind of unknown and people come over me by accident. What's another one best this is calm sage.
Yeah, same bunch of web podcasts every time. And when I say that I'm not being horrible about the podcast because we're all popular podcasts, but it's just it's copying us the list, which is what I would do if I was making a website. And I just wanted to get a little bit of traffic by putting a page which could be quite interesting for some people.
And I thought, okay, let's just do a list of the top podcasts for everything. What's the best and then I go to a website, the best podcasts website, whatever that might be. And then I just I just copy each page.
So the best podcast for laughing or the best podcast for and reading, you know, for books or the best podcast for crime or whatever. And I'll just copy that top 10 list. I would honestly I wouldn't listen to any of the podcasts.
I just copy it, copy whatever and then just put it into my website. So I can't really judge them for that because I do exactly the same thing. Except I put mine first.
In fact, I have done the same thing in the past. I didn't do a podcast, I did it with YouTube channels. One of my websites, I had every single hypnosis YouTube channel on there.
Just so people could look at different things, you know. Wow. Okay, so what do you reckon I is I do or say that would make someone think that I was drunk or drinking whilst making a podcast.
I think I sound fairly sober. Maybe I do slur, but that's just the way I talk. I don't think I slur at all.

No, I don't know what it is that people think that I'm drunk for. I'm not Eddie Lincoln. I really don't.
I'm not even when I'm not doing this, I don't. And if I was drinking, I wouldn't be doing this because I wouldn't want to do this when I was drunk because I'd be drinking. I probably want to be doing something else.
Although to be fair, though, yeah, I used to drink when I made stuff. I used to make videos when I was drinking. Yeah, I did.
But I was never drunk. I never used to really get drunk. Hardly ever.
You know, in the really early days, between 2001 and 2003, the end of 2003, I was drinking more than I should have been. But after then, I only drunk, I think, yeah, I had a year off 2004. I didn't drink any alcohol at all.
And then I went back to it, but I was drinking lighter lager, not the heavy. I was drinking Stella before. That was when it was quite high content.
Low alcohol. It's lower content now. And then I started drinking the lighter lager.
And then I was drinking less as well. I was only, I wasn't drinking, before I was drinking eight cans in the evening. And then I got down to about seven and a half.
I got down, I never drunk more than six, which again, maybe sounds too much. And then I got it down so I only drunk during the weekends. I didn't drink during the week.
So I'd start on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. And I thought, well, really the weekend start on a Friday. So I started drinking on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
And then the weekend started getting longer and longer and longer. So incorporate a Thursday and a Monday. And I realized this isn't really working.
Maybe I'm not quite as disciplined as I thought I was. So yeah, eventually, when I moved here, I mean, it was a time where I just didn't have enough money to really hardly drink at all. It was a luxury to have a few drinks.
Because I didn't have like, I was living on £30 a week or something for nearly a year. And then I moved here. And everything was kind of pretty much sorted.
I was still drinking. But mainly just at weekends, just on a Saturday night. And then over time, I just lost interest in it.
So although I have made recordings, when drinking, including podcasts and videos, not for a very long time, and none of them are available for anyone to see or hear. Not because I was drinking just because I pretty much got rid of all the recordings that weren't good enough quality sound. So the only stuff that's about this available on my podcast for the last from pretty much from the last four years, generally, four or five years.
And I've been doing this for over 17 years. So there's a lot of stuff that I did in the past that's not available anymore. Which is a shame.
I mean, I'm thinking maybe I do have a lot of the recordings stashed away. Maybe I can refurbish them, as it were, make them sound a bit better. And there is some technology that can do that now on the Adobe.
So I might give that a go and see if I can. Well, there's another orthonic as well as something I used, I might be able to make some of the old recordings sound good. The only problem in bear in mind, I've got hundreds and hundreds of recordings.
That's good in a sense. And the content was pretty good as well, I would say. But I sounded different.
I did have, well, my voice hadn't broken yet, I don't think. I think I do have a deeper voice. I don't think I've got a particularly deep voice.

I didn't have it's just I didn't have the equipment. I didn't have the, I was doing everything pretty much, you know, like a really cheap microphone or doing it in the phone or doing it with a webcam. It wasn't great quality at all, sound wise.
So I kind of, I got rid of it. I didn't get rid, I didn't delete the stuff. I deleted some of it by accident, but I still have most of the stuff somewhere.
It's a matter of finding it where it is. It's on a hard drive somewhere. And there's probably a good 1000 recordings.
Not good 1000, but there's probably about 1000 recordings somewhere that maybe I could save some of them, redo them and make them sound okay and maybe perhaps re-release them. I don't know. I'd have to listen to them to see.
Maybe once the the magic works been done on them, I might not sound so high pitched. Could do sound like I'm about to sing a Christmas song. You know that one? Walking in the air.
