Hello and welcome to Let me bore you to sleep. My name is Jason Newland. Please only listen when you can.

Safely close your eyes. Little Vinnie is, I think he's asleep, he's looking at me. He's in his little bed, that's on the sofa.

His little tartan dog bed. He's looking at me but his eyes are closing and he's looking at me again and his eyes close. Sometimes I think that, well because I know I'm not, but sometimes I think that maybe, well because I know I'm not, but I get a little bit concerned that maybe I'm boring.

Boring him to sleep. But as anyone that listens regularly will know that I'm by far one of the most interesting people in the world. Yeah.

I'm just glad he's not barking. It's nice. Every time though, every time someone knocks at the door, he screeches.

And when he gets to the front door, this, because he's in the hallway, but there is something about being near the front door. It echoes and his bark becomes louder. And it really sinks into my brain.

It causes my ears to hurt. It really, I don't like it. Which reminds me, can I, I just wanted to Google something.

Wow. Can I get my dog's voice box removed? You actually can. Wow.

I was just putting it in there as a joke. You can actually get your dog's voice box removed. It costs about a hundred dollars.

It doesn't go completely, but it just, but wow. No, it's not available in the UK. It's completely prohibited.

Okay. I thought it would, I didn't think it would be legal, but it is legal in other countries. It's not legal in my country.

So de-barking is specifically prohibited in the UK, along with ear cropping, tail tickling, no, tail docking and de-clawing of cat. By law, convenience to vocalization is considered. Yeah, I agree.

I'm not, I wouldn't really do it. I'm just wondering if, if it was an option. Not surgically, wouldn't do anything surgical.

I say that now, next time he barks, I'm just like, yeah, we're down to the vets. I don't know, it'd be nice if you put a silencer on him. You know, like you can put on a gun, but I don't know, just put some kind of nozzle on the end of his mouth or in his nose or whatever.

This just silences the barking, makes it just a bit quieter. Maybe. Wow.

How do I stop my dog barking is a question. Stay silent and don't give them eye contact as much as possible, completely ignore them and stay still until they stop. You might need to be patient for this one.

Once they stop, calmly praise them and give them the attention they were looking for, which could be some fuss, playtime or giving them a treat. But I don't want to give him treats. I just, I don't like him that much yet.

Wow. The thing is, people can complain. So I could lose my home if he was too noisy and the neighbors all complained and I refused to get rid of him.

They might say, you got to get rid of him. If I refused, I'd lose my home. You know, so he better start being nice to me because right now I would choose the home over him.

He's starting to grow on me a little bit. He's just, he seems to like everybody else better than he likes me. It's, I don't know, it's weird.

I think the problem is I've not had him since he was born. If I had, then it clearly would have that bond would be there from the start. Because I'm the fourth person, not just the fourth person, but multiple different people, families or whatever that have had him.

I'm just another person that he's stayed with for the last five weeks. It was nearly six weeks in a couple of days, I think. Oh, don't time fly by.

He's so cute when he's asleep, but most people are, aren't they? I had a girlfriend that, um, she really was perfect to me when she was asleep. It was almost like a different person. And she slept so soundly.

And even though I snore, didn't affect her. She just, I don't think she had any worries in her mind. She just went to sleep and completely slept so well.

And I used to think, I wish it's, I wish she'd stay asleep. And I didn't. Then she'd wake up and start moaning at me.

No, she wouldn't. She was fine. But she was, I'm gonna stop talking now.

I'm just, this is just silly. And relax. So yeah.

I'm probably at my best when I'm asleep. When I'm not talking rubbish. Oh, you're so nice when you're asleep.

He's so lovely when he's not barking. I wonder what he's thinking about though. What does he think? What kind of thoughts does he have? I generally don't know.

Does he dream about cats? Does he dream about pussy, cats? He's got a real thing about pussy, cats. He's got, he tries to run across the road. So I've got to really constantly make sure that I'm on a short leash with him sometimes.

And he just, it's almost like he's hunting. Now, I don't know. I've never seen him with a cat, but he chases them.

So I'm guessing, but then I'm thinking, you know, he might not be up to mischief. It might just be a case of he chases, they run. So he chases even more.

But with other dogs, they don't run. He runs up to a dog, if he's allowed to, you know, I do check first and the other dog runs up to him and it's, you know, mutual jumping over each other and getting excited. Now, if a dog ran away, perhaps he'd chase the dog, but not in a bad way.

It might just be to play with them and have fun. He might be doing that with the pussy, cats. I don't know.

It's really, I'm not sure. Not sure. I don't know.

See, I was in court today with my friend. It's a continuation of something that happened last year, about a year ago. And I think this was the fourth time in court.

Fourth and final time, I hope. So I can't really talk about it because it's not my business to talk about, but it's very strange. Very strange to be in a court.

And I've been in three times. The fourth time I didn't get to going because I was looking after the dog, his dog, outside the court, even though I was a witness and they didn't call me. But it's very strange.

And there was this part, you know, when I was sitting down, this lady comes in, everyone stand up. Like, I don't like being told what to do. And she was so dominatrix-y, very, very bossy, very stern.

Like, I don't quite understand why. Why to be like that? Why? Stand up and then everyone sit down, except the defendant. Who's the defendant? Remain standing.

A proper battle axe. Proper battle axe. And it's, it's almost like, if you've ever seen, okay, if you've ever seen the Carry On movies, and the Carry On Doctor or Carry On Matron, and the stern, strict, horrible matron, who's bossing everyone around and being rude to everyone, telling off the patients.

Like that. That's, in the UK, that's what we call a battle axe. Not quite sure what battle axe, why it's called a battle axe, but should I check? Should I check? I just realized that name, that's a word that I've not used since I was about 15.

But it also might be a word that's not used anywhere else. Battle axe. Brutal tools for design and animation.

Creators of the industry standard, Overlord, Rubber House. No. What does calling, uh, after it's only used for women.

Okay, well, maybe that's sexist then. But anyway, what does it mean? Battle axe, a broad axe, formerly used as a weapon of war. A usually, okay, sharp tongue, domineering or combative, competitive.

Okay. I was raised to use words like that. Maybe they're not acceptable anymore.

Um, I wish I cared. This is weird. I wish I cared.

I wish I cared more. Oh no, another word I can't use. No.

I can't remember the last time I actually used that word battle axe. It's not really in my normal vocabulary. Battle axe.

Blimey. Anyway, this woman, I've not met many people that I've like, wow, I've really been quite surprised by. She's walking around like she owned the world.

Like she was important. And I guess to her, she was important. And the proceedings is definitely life changing for some people involved.

So it's important for, you know, certain individuals, particularly the person that's in court, obviously. But there was just, I don't know, just seemed a bit unnecessary. I wouldn't be surprised if outside of work, if she's really, really horrible.

No, she's gentle and just nice and just normal, just a general normal person. But at work, and I can't do it justice. I can't do the way she was justice.

It was justice. It's not bad, is it? Considering we're talking about courts. So stern, so authoritarian.

So, she sounded angry. Yeah, I reacted a little bit internally, if I'm honest. I don't mean I was getting a stiffy.

I mean, what I mean is, I just, I reacted like having aversion to, I guess, being told what to do. And I think a lot of people do. It's not, you know, I haven't got an issue with authority.

Okay, I do, I suppose a little bit. But see, I'm a rule follower. Generally, you know, I don't shut rubbish on the floor.

And I, you know, I follow the rules, most of the rules that are there, you know, pick up my dog poo, pick up poo from the grass. And also, you know, when Vinnie does it, and I just like, I just, I don't want anyone telling me what to do. So, I don't want to be walking down the street, drinking a can of Coke, or eating a chocolate bar out of a wrapper, and someone telling me, don't drop that wrapper on the floor, put it in the bin.

Even though I'm not even finished with the wrapper yet, or finished with a can of Coke. That's something I don't want. And that's, I felt a little bit like that.

And I know it's not the same thing, because she was telling us what to do, in a sense of not to, not telling us not what to do, what not. I suppose someone's still saying put it in a bin, that is telling someone what to do. But also telling someone what not to do.

But don't, don't put it on the floor. Because I'd want to put it on the floor if someone said that to me. Someone says don't drop that can on the floor.

I didn't even want to drop it on the floor. In fact, I'll probably go and buy extra cans, just so I can drop more on the floor. Because I'm a child.

Yeah, never, never warmed to being told what to do. Tell me what the rules are. But don't single me out.

That's kind of where I am on that, I think. Let me know what the general rules are. You know, you don't fire at a funeral.

Fair enough. If I'd been told I wouldn't have done it. You know, that's that's my philosophy.

If I know the rules, I won't do it again, probably. So that's my philosophy. If I know, then I don't do it.

But if I don't know, don't have a go at me. If I'm, you know, if I, as far as I'm concerned, it's not lawbreaking. Unless it's something serious.

It's not really lawbreaking. It's more faux pas, isn't it? Oh, didn't realize. And I think that's why some people have problems with people that come to this country from other countries, because they're doing things that go against the normal societal rules that aren't even necessarily laws.

But that's what English people do all the time. When we go abroad, we broke this, we break the social norms, the social rules because we don't know what they are. It's just, you know, unless you read up and study on every single country you go to, what the standard thing is, you know, like for Thailand, it's almost a faux pas to point your fingers towards someone or to touch somebody.

Don't touch a person's hair, or their head. But there's always like these little things that are classed as another thing. If you drop the money on the floor, drop money, if you drop a note of money on the floor.

For example, if you're a cash point, ATM machine, whatever. And it's a windy day, this is the most normal thing, you know, and you take the money out. And maybe someone, one of the notes will blow away.

And you put your foot on it to stop it blowing away. That is a huge no no in Thailand. Because the royal family is on that note.

Our royal family is on our note, but we don't seem to care. What we don't care. I can't imagine anyone ever, not in my lifetime, has ever had a go at someone for standing on a 10 pound note, because it was about to blow away.

But you can't do that over in Thailand. So, you know, we all do in faux pas. It's weird to look at it from, if you look at it from a different angle.

Like, like in America, I've not lived in America, but I've watched, I've been brought up watching television shows and movies my whole life. And the one thing I've noticed is when people go into bars, they say what they want. They're like, two beers, or two Jack Daniels, or Jack Daniels and Coke.

Hold the ice. Why do you want them to hold the ice? I don't understand it. Ice is cold.

Who wants this like, I don't, I never really got that. And that's it. And then they get handed the drink.

And the person, so the two people come in a bar together, like two beers, they say to the bar, bar person. So the bar person puts the two beers on the bar, say, for example, and the two people talking, they just continue talking. Don't say thank you.

When they order the drinks, they don't say please. They don't say hi. Hello.

In England, it's different. Hello, how are you? Please be my friend. Can I please have two pints of lager and a packet of crisps? Thank you very much.

Ever so much. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you. Love you. And when you get it handed to you, thank you very much.

Thank you. Thank you ever so much. But before that little gap between that, you give them money.

You don't just chuck a bunch of notes on the counter when you'd finished all your drinks. It doesn't happen here. There are places that do tabs, of course, there are restaurants where, you know, you get the bill at the end of the night.

There's some nightclubs, I suppose, that do that. But generally, we pay as we go. Now, I'm generalizing because I'm basing it on what I've seen on telly.

So it may not be like that. First of all, it might not be like that everywhere in America. It might not be like that anywhere.

It might just be a myth. It might just be made up for television. Apparently, Knight Rider's car didn't really talk.

I only found that out last week. So the Dukes of Hazzard weren't really cousins. You know, what do you do with that stuff? What do you do with that information? So, culture differences.

See, if you came over here, came over to my country. See, if you came to England from a country where you don't say please or thank you when you order a drink, there's a good chance the person behind the bar will take offence. Now, I don't know if people are told that.

And I know I make things up and stuff, but this is actually not made up. When you order a drink, if you come into a bar or a restaurant, what do you say, go into a bar, a pub. There's about five pubs left in England.

If you go into a pub, the first thing you do is you curtsy. You say, please may I walk towards the bar? And they'll say, yes, you may. Trumpets are blown.

And then you basically get ushered. You get announced, pretty much. I mean, they do ask you who you are at the door.

And then they announce you as you get for the last three steps towards the bar. You announce, this is Jason and Audrey. And you get to the bar and then you have to like say, please may I have whatever you want.

And then thank you, thank you, thank you ever so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. And after every sip of your drink, you have to turn towards the bar and say, thank you.

So that's another thing you need to do. So I think it's useful information to have. You may not believe that, but just like in Thailand, it's compulsory.

I'm not going to finish this sentence. No, no, I can't. No, I've got to stop.

So yeah, it's different cultures. It's weird, isn't it? How different parts of the world have got these different ways of doing things. Maybe it's not weird.

Maybe I don't know if weird is the right word. Just interesting, I think, actually. Mildly interesting.

A little bit in it a little bit. Just a little bit. Just a little bit.

Trying to think what other things Thailand's got you shouldn't do. You definitely shouldn't cause an argument. Never argue with a Thai person if you're not from Thailand.

Because you're in a heap of trouble. You can't win. And what other things? They will take you for everything you've got if you're a tourist.

If you're a tourist, they will really try and get your money off you. But I think that's kind of the same pretty much all around the world. Same is here.

You know, if you go to tourist spots in England, Madame Tussauds, Tower of London, you get a taxi, you get charged extortionate amounts of money. You know, you go and buy a Union Jack flag, a little plasticky thing that you want to wave around when maybe you're watching the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. And they'll charge you, you know, £10,000 for that flag.

Slight exaggeration, but you know, it's just a rip off. But that's how they make their money. And it's the same, I guess, when we go abroad.

You know, even I think there was a time, and this was in the 2000s, maybe late 90s, 2000s, going to Eastern Europe from this country became very popular. Very popular because it was cheap, a lot cheaper than going to Benidorm or Spain or Italy or one of the like party in places that young people went to. Someone discovered that going to Poland or going to I'm trying to think Croatia, maybe not Croatia.

That's quite an expensive place to go to, isn't it? Maybe not back then, though. So yeah, Bulgaria is another place. And people would go there because once they got there, it was really, really great value.

You know, the drinks were very cheap, food was very cheap. Everything was way cheaper than it was in England. And that's not why I went to Bulgaria.

The only reason I went to Bulgaria was because, this was in 2002. My friend had booked to go to Bulgaria with his friends, who I knew as well, but he was, he'd lived with them, so he knew them a lot better than me. One of their friends pulled out Oh no, I think it was, no, someone I knew, she was pregnant, so she decided not to go.

Yeah, so she got pregnant, so she couldn't go because it was a skiing holiday and she didn't want to have a ski baby. I don't know what was in her mind. And I kept saying to her, yeah, it'll cushion a blow if you fall over.

But she didn't think that was an appropriate comment. And so they said, oh, we've got a vacancy. And my friend said, asked me if I wanted to go.

Really? Not really, to be honest. And I thought, oh well, why not? Back in those days, I was not the biggest plane fan. Now, I ain't got an issue with planes at all.

I will say, if there's two things that I discovered when I went on a long distance plane, long distance like, you know, I was on there 12 hours on one, two planes, I was on for 12 hours, 12 and a quarter hours. So that's quite a long time, isn't it? And you wouldn't want to be stuck in a lift with someone farting for 12 hours, would you? That's a long time. And I, basically, the first thing I realised was, I had, what do you call it when you get dizzy? Ears, ears dizziness, vertigo, that's it.

One of those words I can never remember, even though it's a hugely famous film with Jimmy Stewart. Anyway, so I had a vertigo. And I'd had it previously.

And I think it was basically came from when I was, I'd had COVID or something last October. Not this October gone, the one before 2021. And so I had another bout of it.

But what happened is, I'm not sure if it was when we were taken off or once we were up or whatever. At one point, both my ears popped. Vertigo gone.

It's an expensive cure. But I wonder if a plane simulation would do the same thing. Do the plane simulations, do they have, do they have the same kind of pressure and stuff internally? I don't know.

But it completely cured my vertigo. Not completely forever, but you know, for a few months, actually, it came back for a little while and then it went again. And how amazing is that? Gone, completely gone.

At the time, I couldn't even like turn my head about things spinning or bend over without things spinning or look up without now. But after that, nothing. And the same as now, I'm fine now.

But it was like, wow. Wow. The other thing I discovered the being on a plane for 12 hours.

Well, I used to have flight phobia. I did. I was absolutely didn't like flying.

That's an understatement. But it was practically impossible for me. I'm going to say just I'm going to own this.

For me, it was impossible to keep that level of fear up for long enough. Let's get a little bit of gas. I had a curry today.

I had a vegetable curry. And it's repeated. It's repeating on me.

Nice. I wonder what I carried. I wonder what that curry tasted like earlier on.

Oh, great. That's nice. Now, we're now started I was saying repeated.

And yes, so I realized that I wasn't able to keep up that fear of flying, because it just ran out. I ran out of energy. It's almost it became impossible to be scared anymore.

And I was surprised at that, because I don't have many. Of course, there's things I'm scared of, you know, but I don't have many phobias like that. That was the only real thing that I had.

I used to be spiders used to be a thing. I'm not bothered anymore. I'm not even bothered by snakes as long as they're, you know, not well, my friends got two snakes downstairs.

So I'm used to seeing them doesn't bother me. I don't want to touch him. I don't want to stick him around my neck.

You know, I want to sleep with them. But I am not scared of them. Because I know they're not kind of hurt me anyway.

Now, you know, a different kind of snake different story. And you know, if you're in if you're in the woods, and you see a bear, you should be scared and you should get the hell away from that bear if you can. Just like you see a lion in distance, get the hell out of the way, you should be scared.

It's normal. That's not a phobia. That's just being a human being.

It's normal. You know, not many people wanted to cuddle a crocodile. Maybe that's why they're not very cuddly.

They don't look cuddly today. But then that's another thing I haven't got I can't there's been no point being phobic about a crocodile because we don't have crocodiles here. We don't have alligators here.

We don't have lions here. We don't have tigers. You know, most animals we don't have those kinds of things that are in other countries, rainforests and desert and deserts or deserts.

Yeah. There's lots of things that we don't have here. Due to the climate.

However, the climate is changing, isn't it? So it's getting see, I don't understand. It's getting warmer, but it's also getting colder. So we're having colder winters, or not colder winters overall, but we're having colder days.

So we're having warmer days and colder days. So like minus 17 I think it was somewhere in the UK a couple of weeks ago. But we also had the highest temperature of all time in this country during the summer.

So it seems to be going in both directions. And that makes sense for this country. Because we're not like a lot of other countries where maybe it's possibly more predictable.

You know, I mean, the fact is, there's places that have hurricane season. I mean, that's that's predicting the weather, isn't it? If you've got a hurricane season. We don't have anything like that.

We've got the three seasons. Four seasons. Was that a group? Four seasons.

So we have the four season. And was that a hotel? Was it a curry? Four seasons curry? It might be a curry shop. Yeah, I don't remember.

Anyway, so fall asleep. I'm so glad he hasn't been barking while I've been doing this recording. I had to tell him off earlier to stop barking.

He said no. It's so defiant. He just will not listen to me.

I said, why can't you just listen? Why can't you just do what you're told? He looked at me defiantly and said, I'm a dog. I don't understand what you're saying. I don't understand the context of what you're saying.

I don't understand the words. I don't understand your emotions. I don't know what's going on.

To me, you're just going, Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na. That's all I hear is just sound. Noise, in fact.

Just noise. Na, na, na, na, na, na. Sit.

Na, na, na, na, na, na. Walk. I'm going to go for a walk.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na. Stop. Stop.

Na, na, na. Stop. Na, na, na, na, na, na.

That's all I hear. and I thought that's really rude isn't it? After all I've done for you and he just turned at me he just like waggled his tail and said what have you ever done for me? and I tried to think of something and I couldn't. He said I've only been there for five weeks you ain't done nothing.

I'm 11 months old and you've been there five weeks. It's such a tiny percentage of my life not even 9% of my life have I been living with you. I was like wow that's a bit harsh.

I said I don't understand why you're being so rude. He said he looked at me winked and said nah nah nah nah nah. Remember that's all I hear.

Nah nah nah nah nah. It's very rude. I don't understand it.

Four seasons. So yeah we have the four seasons. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and in any of those seasons we can have all four seasons at the same time in any one day.

In any day of the year basically. We can have a beautiful summer day in December or January. We can have a freezing cold day in March.

I've actually got a video from the 31st of March last year it was snowing outside a proper thick thick snow. It couldn't settle because the ground was too wet and but it probably snowed big old big flakes the size of large versions of snowflakes that's very large and I mean the 31st of March that's spring. Winter's finished.

In fact I'll tell you exactly when does spring start. When does spring start? Monday the 20th of March. In the Northern Hemisphere? No UK.

Oh 20th of March. So are we the Northern Hemisphere then are we? Oh all dates so Unite Kingdom ends on the 21st of June. So pretty much over 10 days after spring started we had thick snow.

We've had snow in April. We have honestly. Snow in April.

UK. So let's have a look. When did it last snow in April in UK history? While snow in mid-April might feel strange it's not actually that uncommon.

According to the Met Office based on records from 1981 to 2010 the average is 2.3 days of snow in April. That's more than the average for November which is 1.7 days. Wow so between 1981 and 2010 it snowed more in April than it did in November.

Whoa now I remember it snowed in 2013 but I seem to have forgotten this so I'm going to put in the date snow in April 2013. Or was it 2014? 2014. Snow in... why are they not giving me the proper information? The UK winter 2014-15.

Wow temperatures drop below minus 20. When did it last snow in April? The last time the UK recorded in April this cold was eight years ago in 2013. Wow so yeah it did snow.

I remember it. Making some weird noises. So we get all kinds of weather even in January it can be the nicest day like summer but we have nice we've had some nice clear summer-like days this week that you know do you know what what is that thing in the sky? Is it UFO? No it's the Sun.

Wow I forgot about that and it was like whoa but really cold but a beautiful day very crisp but sometimes come the end of February like the end of January February even it can be like t-shirt weather. The daffodils pop their little not foreskins I mean their heads out of the of the ground so they start to grow get to the daffodils start to get erect and looking up at the slightly waving to the Sun and we might have two days of really lovely weather and then it starts snowing and it gets icy and all the daffodils become flaccid again so it's just flaccid daffodils.

What on earth am I talking about? So yeah we get all kinds of weather all in the same day sometimes.

So I guess it makes sense you know with the changing in the atmosphere or whatever around the world the the climate and all that that ours would just become a more extreme version of what it already is.

So the colder days are colder the hotter days are hotter and because we don't have like solid heat for months or rain for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks we don't have a rainy season we don't have a drought season we don't all that stuff we have we have the four seasons but they all sort of they're basically all in bed of each other kind of and I don't want to say foursome but you just you know they're all kind of together and they just pop in and out they enter each other's

domain as it were so it's just weird like in the summer sometimes it's cold like July the peak of the summer is kind of June July really and there's days when you have you know you have to put the heating on because it's so cold which is just weird you know it's I've not traveled and been around everywhere in the world but I just is this is quite a strange place to live the way the weather is and another thing that the general public that you might not know about England and maybe other parts of

the UK I don't know but definitely England not that I've been everywhere but I've lived up north well I've lived in different parts of England obsessed with talking about the weather not me but other people can't stop talking there's always a conversation starter blooming cold in it's supposed to be colder next week supposed to be getting some snow lovely and sunny in it yeah soon be Christmas soon be winter yeah a bus stop oh it's really raining in it yeah that's why I'm standing in a bus stop that's why I'm under the shelter because it's

raining otherwise I wouldn't be standing quite so close to you it's cold in it yeah it's cold it's winter supposed to be cold happy Christmas why are you assuming that I celebrate Christmas I might be a Mormon I might be Jehovah's Witness I could be all kinds of religions that don't celebrate Christmas why are you saying Merry Christmas you know what he said to me I don't believe what he said back so I'm your dad Jason I know that you celebrate Christmas why are you just being awkward okay also why are we standing at this

bus stop well when I've got a car oh dear I don't know what this is going weird it's a very strange I don't understand I don't understand oh my goodness and yes so I'll tell you something I realized today is if you have a legal issue you really could do with some private you know money to pay for the best because the services are free what I've seen with my own eyes ain't up to much I'm not saying the service like the solicitors you don't even get the same solicitor every time you might be in

court three times and get three different solicitors in your corner there's no way that person can really be in your corner properly if they haven't been with you the whole journey you know they'd like continuing a conversation that you've had with someone else and it's you know it's free so that's that's good it's not free because they get court costs but I've never been to court for myself I went to court when I was a little kid during a marriage thing when I was about four or five four so I remember it very well very

vaguely I was a very vague memory and I was bribed with some sweets to say something I actually do remember what it was I said but I mean maybe I remember it because I was reminded of it from some maybe my brother's talked about it later on in life I don't know because they were older than me so they remembered more but didn't actually go into the court I don't think but I did on this occasion I went into court so four times three times three times and it's it's weird because it's like this an

aquarium so you got the person is being accused or being sentenced behind the glass in this and everyone else is out or in the room but they're behind this glass and it is like an aquarium I mean I have to struggle not to do fish fish movements I don't imagine it would help my case if I did but you know just pretend to be a fish or pretend to swim I mean it does look like an aquarium without water obviously or fish or castles because obviously there's always castles on the bottom of the ocean isn't

there for the fish to swim through it looked nothing like an aquarium actually thinking about it yeah I don't yeah it was very strange and the three people at the they were like the judges three of them I don't know if all three were judges but they all sat there and they were at the front of the room a person in the middle did the talking so I'm guessing he was the boss he was the head honcho and they were all so I don't know earnest is that the right word so so very serious I

realize you know you can't mess around I guess in that kind of work they just seemed excessively like everybody was taking themselves very seriously and I'm not sure that I could do any different because of course it's serious but again there seemed to be that sense of self-importance but then if your if your decision affects someone else's life then it is important isn't it I know it's different if there's a jury and then the judges but this is how I don't understand right someone's been sentenced I see this on TV we don't televise really televised

courts in this country if you look in the newspapers that don't even have photographs of people in the court they still have court artists who sketch a picture of the person the person who's been accused or being convicted or whatever no photographs a picture drawn by hand although it could be on a tablet now you never know it's very strange very quite very outdated in this country in some ways holding on to tradition still wear those stupid white wigs not in that's it in is it crown court we're not in County Court I don't know

they do you do is magistrates court but in in the big court they still wear those silly wigs that used to be worn like centuries ago why it's outdated it's just silly they look ridiculous I mean they used to be fashionable didn't they in what 16th century France anyway nothing doing me is it still where there's I just I wouldn't want to be sent to prison by someone wearing a silly white wig I just don't be there just that just ruined my day I mean it was obviously gonna prison would ruin my day but just

yeah to be fair but just I just don't like it that's like yeah you know and then I see this an American court as well as read it in the newspapers here so someone's been sentenced to go to prison sometimes for a long time by a jury and then they make the prisoner who's about to be taken to prison make him stand there and have the judge tell him off or her off why what's it got to do with the judge the judge is not involved it's gone to the he's gone to the jury the

judge is just there to make sure everything goes properly the judge can't over I don't think they're allowed to overrule the jury anyway can they so but then once they've been convicted no you're gonna do this whatever amount of time now let me talk down to you for five minutes with my wig on I know I'm surprised more people don't put their fingers in their ears and just go la la la la la la la la this this weird and I've seen it I've seen on TV I mean I don't I don't think they have

white those white wigs on in any other countries this thing's only here but I've seen them like you had done this and you know you're a whatever I'm Anna like will you say oh yeah judge sentences and doesn't he or her so they get found guilty then the judge decides on the sentence so they're not I don't know I wasn't impressed to be honest I wasn't impressed and they really just I can't talk about it because not legal reasons just because my friend's business that's why I've not mentioned anything about him or where it was

or what it was about or anything like that but I found it just so ridiculous these people and also when they're walking around they don't feel anyone else is listening they talk about people laughing making fun that she saw a couple of couple of ladies and they in with I guess a prisoner or someone that's gonna be going to court talking to him and then they left he'd been in court and he was all about probation or something anyone went and I was walking as I was walking back into the court they were laughing about

him actually joking about him make fun of him I mean it's like well for me don't be all stern when you in the courtroom don't be all like bossy and stern and serious just be professional when you're out of the courtroom making fun of and they were doing it and it was we were waiting on the actual chairs waiting to go into court this is last time and then one of their women came out and said to my friend you want to come in like I don't really want to follow you anywhere you just been

making fun of that last person if you did it to them you're gonna be doing it to us it's pretty much guaranteed you know it's very unlikely that we just happened to be there the very first time that they ever made fun of a customer which is basically what people are when they go in there I guess or a defendant or whatever the word is it's unlikely that was the very first time they ever did it never did it again ever of course have done it before and they're gonna do it again probably might not

definitely I'm not sure very possibly so yeah there was a weird day weird day I felt a lot of relief when we left and we were leaving together and you know that was a good outcome from that perspective that I wasn't traveling home alone that's what I mean so when I say home you know he lives near me we don't live together no and I really felt relaxed when I got home and it just just kind of hit me that I really had been carrying it around a little bit I've been worried rightly so as

well because it was a close very close but I was so the relief was there I didn't maybe I didn't realize how much I cared or how much I was concerned about the outcome but I really felt a way off when I got home I don't mean I went to the toilet did a big poo I mean I sat down relaxed and just you know it was nice anyway on that note I'm not gonna go just for I let you know about my day really that's about it I might have gone off on a tangent

a chat a tangerine or something but you know me I'm usually quite focused so thank you for listening remember oh by the way I didn't do a recording last night because I had to get up so early in the morning I just had to have an early night basically and yeah so thanks for listening remember to be kind to yourself remember to be gentle with yourself whatever that means to you just be gentle and every day try to be a bit more gentle with yourself treating yourself as if you were precious you know almost like

holding yourself the way you would a small baby a fresh not fresh baby but you know newborn fresh baby you know a newborn baby you'd hold like it it's the most precious most important thing in the whole world even if it's not your child you know you're still gonna hold that baby with the care and attention like nothing else you know and perhaps we can benefit from doing that to ourselves and by that I don't mean treating ourselves like babies because we're not but having that care having that gentleness and sometimes maybe just being a

bit kinder to ourselves you know holding yourself emotionally the way you would a little baby just I suppose in a way like the baby doesn't know that you even holding him or her they feel like maybe they're in bed or they're just floating yet they're supported completely supported and that support doesn't have to come from strength or from toughness or from anything other than just complete gentleness so take care yourselves I'll speak to you tomorrow lots of love I'm actually cupping my hands like I'm holding a baby well see ya bye
