Ah, hello, er, ooh, welcome to let me bore you to sleep. My name's Jason Newland, my website is jasonnewland.com, and this is, ooh, so, er, it's the second recording today. There's a bit of a humming coming from somewhere.

Hmm, not sure where. So this is my second recording, and, er, a little bit tired. Oh yeah, I did a deep sleep whisper recording, hypnosis, and that's all uploaded and scheduled, scheduled to be released at certain times throughout the night.

Every three hours, a new version. So I do the original version, then one with background music, one with, that's five hours, then one at ten hours. And I do that with all the, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Ooh, I'm a bit warm, I'm gonna have a drink of water. I do that with all the new recordings, sort of spread them out a little bit. There's a heating on.

Blimey it's not only on it's very hot. I'm going to turn it down a bit I think. I heard somewhere that there's gonna be a cap on how high we're allowed to have our heating on in this country like a limit to what temperature we're allowed to have it which I don't know how they how do they police such a thing.

I don't know. I mean we did knock on your door and check walk around with a thermometer wave it around I mean I don't know how does it all how does that all work I've no idea.

So it's strange to me because I don't keep track of it I have the heating come on when it's cold and then that's it and sometimes it comes on when it's not cold and I turn it off or turn it down sometimes it doesn't come on when it is cold and I have to turn it up you know it's just the way it is sometimes it's oh it's cold but there's no heat coming out of the radiators and I have to go and have a little jog all the way into the hallway and find the

old thermostat and then turn it until it clicks and then the heating comes on it's a wonderful process I do also like to have the windows open now some might say well that's wasteful man yeah but we do still need oxygen sometimes a room without any air coming in and just central heating or you know whatever radiators can be a little bit stifling a little bit whoo you know nice temperature maybe but not great for breathing I mean not bad for breathing obviously there is oxygen but it's nice to have a bit of flow of

air that's my personal opinion I mean my my grandmother she used to have the window open all year round in the bedroom well she'd have it open when she was in bed rather I don't know she had it open when she wasn't in bed and I mean she wasn't a deviant or anything it wasn't that she was a exhibitionist with the curtains drawn and all the lights on so everyone could see her she wasn't doing you know pole dancing or anything weird like that I don't know where I'm going with this and she used to

have the window open because of the air she liked to have air coming in and I'm the same in that regard I like to have some air I don't want to be cold I don't want to sit lie down in bed without any heat and be freezing cold with the window open and and I will close the window if it's cold cold if you know I don't have the I don't you know if it's if I'm lying in bed and it's cold I'll close the window but if it's okay then I'll have the window open

to have some air coming in does that make is anyone else like that or am I the only one it's just me and my grandmama were the only two people in the whole world that are like that I like to have air coming in in the living room I like to have the air on the air on like to have the windows open even with the with the heating on I like to have the windows open heating on or not just pretty much all the time I like to have the windows open I will close

them at night you know when I'm not in so if I go into the bedroom I'll close lock the windows in the living room but when I'm in the living room I do like to have the windows open sometimes they'll be locked they'll be on the latch you know so they're open just I don't have them wide open the whole time because if nothing else is it can get a little bit loud at times and when I'm making a recording I do need to kind of keep the windows closed so that just so there's no

sound or there's limited sound not not so much with these recordings I don't mind a little bit of background sound but what I'm doing hypnosis recording I like it to be at the most minimum possible and I close the door here I close the windows draw the curtains cement all the gaps no I don't but with this I mean if the windows are not open anyway at the moment but the the door to the living rooms open it's so you know if someone was to knock on the door on the front door or if a

car pulled up outside the front of the building I'll probably hear it although I do have the kitchen and a bathroom and my bedroom door closed that's another thing I've been doing to try and kind of reduce the sound as well by closing all the doors and because especially with the bathroom the kitchen I don't hear very much from the front of the building if someone bips their horn I will hear it yeah beep beep beep beep beep I'll hear it but you know just general clatter clatter clatter clatter clatter clatter clatter clattering I don't

really hear so much doesn't really register I just had some dinner I had a cheese sandwich cheese and salad sandwich cup of tea and that was it really that's yeah that's what I had and I was so tired I went to sleep I was sitting on the settee I listened to Whitney Houston's first album and then after that it was on Spotify so they played a bunch of other female singers basically and it was it was nice and I fell asleep I was so tired so so so so so so tired as which is a

bit I don't know maybe it was too warm in here so this is why I was tired I ate I had a cup of tea and I was perhaps externally and internally a warm so I had to go bye-byes yeah I'm not really sure not sure not have not have I haven't heard that sentence for over a week now not have wonder where that sentence could be from not have have so my chest infections pretty much cleared up now which is good a little residual a little bit of a cough and I'll probably cough now

that I'm talking about it but generally it's gone it's all cleared up and I'm very very very pleased I must say I must musty must must must say ever so ever so pleased I really really was not enjoying that chest infection half as much as I normally do no no no I mean sometimes I look forward to them but this time oh it was ever so much chore such a chore it took a lot of my time away if you know what I mean I just didn't have time for such things I'm a busy young

lady so I don't know it was weird I don't hear that it's a can of coke fizzling away fizzy very fizzy another little drink I won't put it on I'll put it into the little carrier rather than on the desk because if it spills it's just gonna completely ruin my equipment and I don't want that I just I just don't want it really no I don't so I've been thinking again about like you know shall I shall I shall I shall I shall I make videos as I make podcasts shall I video them and I

just enjoy making podcasts I don't enjoy making videos and I can just be I feel more natural when I'm just talking without being filmed just I can just be me you know I ain't gotta dress up I ain't gotta do anything specific I ain't gotta brush me hair not there's much hair left to brush I got more hair on my back than I have on my head got more hair on okay I'll just I'll stop there I'll stop there I've stopped no I've stopped just okay give me a break I've stopped I didn't go any

further I could have gone further but I never I was able to rein it in give me some credit for that at least blimey so it's nice just I could just be me I can just you know just be me just just be silly and just I don't want to look at myself I might sound strange it's not because I'm like really awful to look at I mean I don't you know I haven't got that much of an issue with how I look I don't like how I look but I'm not you know I don't

have to look through through cracks in my hands you know just like it was not that bad but I don't really want to look it's a distraction but at the same time I don't want to look at a picture of anyone talking or video of anyone you know if I was if I was watching a video on mute it would be a distraction if even if it was like a television show or something like that although I have I have have have made the odd podcast whilst I was watching boxing but it it kind of

ruins the boxing for me because without any sound I mean okay I do know what's going on because I can see but you know I don't really have the ability to focus on two things like that I mean I struggle a bit if I'm watching boxing and I got someone else in the room with me and they're talking even if they're talking about the boxing I do get a little bit I don't know maybe distracted is the right word I just I find it a little bit harder to concentrate on the boxing as opposed to

if I'm just on my own watching it listening to it providing I'm not tired yeah it's good I mean there was boxing on on Saturday well Sunday morning here but Saturday night in America and the main fight started probably about four o'clock I can't do that anymore I can't do it I can't I don't have for whatever reason for whatever reason I don't have seem to have the ability to stay up late and stay up to all hours in the morning I tried I tried going to bed early and then getting up like a two

o'clock in the afternoon in the morning even then I had to go back to bed after an hour and I ended up missing half the fight and then when I actually came to watch it to watch the end of the fight it just gave me the results because it the the live stream had stopped and there was a picture of the winner holding up the belts hold I know wearing a crown crown of thorns no he's wearing a crown so I it's weird I don't get it because a year ago I was up all night

long every single night for years I was up all night long and then something changed and now I am in bed early like in even though I'm in bed by 11 sometimes earlier than that sometimes 12 but I'm in bed like 10 11 9 whatever and so I can't watch these late night early early hours of the morning fights and it's annoying because I want to watch them I mean I can watch them I can watch them on YouTube the next day but it's it's not the same and it quite often that the the title

of the YouTube video will give you the result of the fight which is mildly annoying mildly did I say mildly you know 10th round KO for titanfury like hmm I wonder what happens in this fight yeah a little bit little bit hmm you know I mean so that's just something maybe it's an age thing I don't know maybe it's an age thing and maybe I need to well I want to get back to the gym to get myself a bit more just work and get myself a bit healthier bit fitter so you know that's something

that I can look into maybe by going to the gym I'll have more energy and maybe then I'll be able to stay up later maybe not I don't know maybe this is just what happens hit my 50s I need I have early nights and I get up early in the morning which is what I do I wake up early go to bed early wake up early and you know I'm up by six in the morning sometimes four but generally six so I aim for about six anything before six is a little bit too early really

unless I've been in bed since nine then four o'clock's fine but six o'clock is an okay time to get up I think the thing is now in my where I live it's dark in the mornings and it's weird because a month ago it was light you know so before I went away it was light at six in the morning now it's dark it's like what's going on this is ridiculous and the days change so quickly they literally I mean whichever way you look at it it changes so you know it goes from being so as

spring moves into summer the days get shorter and shorter really quickly but now as is moving from summer into autumn it's now the middle of was 19 nearly the 20th of 20th tomorrow of September so I guess technically this is now autumn and the the nights that the days are getting shorter and shorter and shorter no longer and longer and longer yes that's it the days again no shorter yeah shorter days so it's it's that's right blimey yeah they're getting shorter so it's lighter for less time and I think December is when it hits it

hits the longest day and then it starts to change and then it starts to go as you go from December moving into January February into spring but it the days get longer really quickly so it's weird I mean for those that don't live here you might you might be surprised at how how the whole darkness pans out because I didn't realize that not everyone has it the same everywhere I it's weird I don't know it's just my lack of knowledge I guess I actually just figured that everybody has the same process so you've got you

got days that are shorter and as time goes by you get really short days and then in the summer you get really really long days not everyone not every country's like that apparently so here we're probably looking by November so November December January they're the pretty much the coldest weathery months you know like as far as November can be very windy and wet December sometimes you know some wintry weather January you know it's wintry weather and then it starts to get better so there's like three months really of although November is partly autumn as well

it's a weird one because that's when the October November that's when the the wind blows the leaves off the trees the tweez those lovely tweez or those lovelier weed so it's weird because as parts of that period sort of January December January and it'll just be dark sometimes by well not like not dark dark dark but dark where you need the lights on in the afternoon sometimes you need the lights on all day like indoors it never gets bright enough to not have the lights on which is weird go outside and it's bright but that

brightness doesn't move inside and then you've got days when you know it's dark by three half three like it's outside you know cars have got the lights on and then it doesn't start getting light till about eight half seven eight in the morning it's just weird you know you're going to school you're going to work in the dark or you know just as the light is starting to change and you're coming home in the dark very strange time I don't mind it myself because I'm used to it I mean I think the weather in this

country is like a very strange pair of unusually fitting pants if you used to wear them for the first time and like you gotta wear them for a week you probably wouldn't like it but after 50 years you kind of used to it it's not comfortable or uncomfortable it's almost just it is what it is and maybe they're stretched a bit to accommodate certain growth patterns during one's life so I don't know I do I'm not bothered by the weather not really I mean I'm not a big fan of the cold weather and so I

guess I am bothered by the weather I just just basically just lied to myself I don't mind I just I'm not I don't like being caught in it waiting see I love snow not a big fan of being caught in town waiting for a bus when the snow is really coming down heavy because the chances are the bus isn't going to turn up and it's amazing how cold it can get in the snow when you just stand in there waiting and that's happened a few times and I didn't get to appreciate how lovely it was

because I was getting completely covered in snow because it was basically a storm a snowstorm yes a snowstorm it's really weird because I think about that and there's one particular occasion I was working as a counsellor and I just crossed the road because that's where the that's where the office was the office was where was that yeah yeah so I literally crossed the road from where the counseling service was and it was a bus stop so I used to get leave there go there and wait for the bus and there was this one particular evening

and that's the one time when it's not dark anymore it doesn't matter how dark it is once it snows it's just light don't need don't need streetlights nothing is just I love it I love the snow I really do love the snow so for example it's not going to snow now but if it was to snow I don't know next month or November December whatever 100% guaranteed I will open the curtains I will open the windows and I will push the net curtains all the way over the other side and sit down so I can

watch the snow I love it I absolutely love watching snow not necessarily going to go out in it and I'm not I'm not a huge fan of the aftermath of snow it's like some of the greatest things in the world can have an aftermath where everything's a bit dirty and sticky it's like oh I wish I hadn't bothered you know it's that that aftermath of when the snow turns into ice but it's hidden and it's kind of underneath the snow and you can't see it and it's walking around like I can only imagine someone at

135 years old would walk around because you have to you have to be very careful because I'm I'm nearly 90 now it's yeah I'm not just just yeah it's just a bit too a bit too slippery for me I remember I was in town and it was snowing it was snowing and there was this man and he had two walking sticks and two bags of shopping in either hand trying to cross the road and there were people either side of the taking bets I mean it was what I just don't understand why he would it

just seems such as just I say I wouldn't do that I wouldn't I wouldn't walk around with two big bags of shopping even if I didn't have walking sticks just because it's unstable at this moment I'd go for like a smaller amount or maybe if I had walking sticks maybe have a little backpack a little that I could put on my back but hey I don't know nothing to do with me is it it's not but you know I offered to help in my imagination I offered to help but I'm not sure if I did

in my imagination any scenario like that I am a hero but probably most of the time I'm really not I just add that little bit of juice to make me feel good about myself sometimes it works especially when I don't add that last bit of maybe maybe I'm making it up yeah people in their cars that surprises me even now even after all these years of seeing some of the weirdest things that people do just generally but when it's snowing on a hill on a hill and the cars parked on the hill and you know

it's kind of sturdy and it's safe I guess as much as gonna be and but you know the snow hasn't gone underneath the wheels because it's parked and so you know underneath the car there's a big patch of just dryness but you see the person get into the car take the brakes off and try to drive either up or down the hill and they never succeed it seems I mean they succeed they do get down but they don't go down the direction that they wish quite often they end up going sideways and I lived on

a hill I didn't live on a hill I did live on a hill but well no I did I actually lived on a hill there was this estate this like housing estate and it it just moved around it was almost like a circle and it was a it was a downward spiral and I was there when it was snowing because I remember I've got a phone call from my girlfriend at the time she was very excited I don't think not sure she'd seen snow before or she just liked snow as I do myself and I

was very excited also so I went out and just sort of stood in the in the street just to watch it and just saw people basically crashing in slow motion so how important is it to get where you're going right now that you know that you needed to take your car out of your driveway on a hill why didn't you walk or you know get a train I'm pretty I don't know I'm not an expert and I don't know but I can imagine surely most employers do not have some sympathy towards people when the weather's

like that you know I'm gonna get in I'm gonna be late you know I'm gonna it's snowing outside I can't drive so I have to get the train or the bus that would I just thought that would that would raise some kind of human emotions from an employer maybe I'm wrong maybe you don't know I really don't know so if I get rid of this so if I don't make any more videos I get rid of that stand get rid of that microphone get rid of these lights which just makes this space a little bit

freer a little bit less clogged cluttered yeah I've got banana over there and I'm gonna eat in a minute did you need to know that probably not are you glad that I informed you about the banana maybe some of you are it is hard to please everybody but as you know I really try hard and I was thinking earlier you know I've done a lot of these podcasts over the years four and a half years I've been making the let me bore you to sleep podcasts and I've tried to try to cover various subjects try

to cater as many people as I can but I was thinking earlier how many people who listen to the recordings also enjoy eating bananas so I thought you know what I will mention that I'm eating a banana later as part of the recording it's kind of like a throwaway line a throw you know it's just a general observation of my future planned activity if that gives someone at home an opportunity to really feel part of the show to be you know I mean you might be thinking oh I don't know if I feel part of

this this blokes talking about stuff and I don't know if I really fit in and I know the other people listening I'm not sure if I if this is really the right podcast for me and then I mention the banana and you're like wow he really gets me I surely have found the perfect place to visit once a day to listen and be bored that Jason and his banana he's turned my thinking upside down I've now a lifelong fan of his banana stories I don't know not sure where I was going with that that was

just a bit that was a bit weird wasn't it it's a bit weird a bit weird yes oh was it a bit weird was it ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah oh oh oh what is that book I've got here mind-changing short stories and metaphors hmm I have to go through I actually bought a book Stephen King book when I was away it's not the fog the mist and I started reading it but I was just surprised because oh dear I was surprised because basically how it happened

is I was waiting I know I was walking down the beach and I just had my breakfast which was a cooked breakfast and then I went for a walk so I'm walking down the beach and I sit down on on a deck chair and it was a hundred bar to sit down on the chair on to just be on the chair and then there was another what I don't know 70 bar for a coke or whatever I was having and it's a hundred bars about two pound fifty roughly UK pounds whatever that is in yours

I don't know and suddenly I needed the toilet I mean within about three minutes of sitting down and I thought really really this is just ridiculous I've just you know I've just wasted 200 bar five pound because I can't take it well I suppose I could take the drink with me but I can't take the chair with me and I said look I've got a go and they said oh and I said I said oh you pay then I said okay fine did why you leave so quick I said I need a toilet do you

know if there's a toilet there's a McDonald's around here and she said no cross the road up the steps just go toilet up there and she said put your money don't you pay me come back you can come back leave your drink there I'll look after your drink and just come back and sit down when you've done go to toilet so I did now some of you listening to this might think this is a boring story is this actually going anywhere but there's other people that have been listening to me for years that are possibly

thinking this is one of the most interesting stories he's ever told see it's weird in there the way people think so I went up and literally was across the road now I had not been in any public toilets outside of I don't know McDonald's or in a bar I hadn't been in any like normal public public public toilets some of them you need to pay for this one wasn't it was free and I didn't realize but it was in a soup like a mall a supermarket mall thing and so I went in there did my

business I came out because well I didn't come straight out of the the way I came in because there was a lot of cheering and people like laughing and stuff I couldn't figure out where it was coming from I didn't know whether or not there was like some kind of I just I was a little bit worried I looked down just in cases the floor was just glass there's low people looking up just laughing and cheering but none of that weirdness was happening no not going back to that place and there was some like a

ceremony awards ceremony going on so I don't know what it was and I looked around there was all these electronic shops places you could buy laptops furniture places clothes play is like all this lots of different things so I left I kind of kept an eye like remembering where is because it's a toilet and so I left and then later on I went back and had a little bit of a look around there's only a bookshop there like a proper bookshop in English like English books like it with English there's a few non-english but it's

basically mainly English books and I was in my element as they say I was very pleased so if I was to I'm not going to but if I was to move to a place like that I've that's one thing sorted is books I can buy books whether they can order them for me and you know which I'm sure they probably can can order you know if you if you regular and it's like wow they've got books like actual books and that might sound weird but I got very excited I got very excited and they were

looking at me like I was almost running around with a big smile on my face because I love books I can't help it I just love them I love love love them don't know why I just do always have probably I guess always will I just love books and I love new books I like old books as well but I just all these books just I don't I even like saying the word books so I've got this book I thought I'm not going to get a big one so I got this one it's quite thin

I mean it's in reality it shouldn't take more than a few hours to read and it's called the mist and should I get it let's get off this chair where is it the ultimate storyteller Stephen King you know when you're a famous author when your name is actually bigger than the title of the book the mist what lies within so this is from what year is this from 1980 okay so I've only read 10 pages so I wasn't really in the right space to read I wasn't feeling very well for a while so there's a

hundred and seventy nine pages so I'm guessing that's what four or five hours maybe less I don't know my question is what's the difference between the fog and the mist because I remember seeing the fog on telly I do not remember seeing the mist is it the same is it the same book they just change it I don't know it doesn't say this exhilarating novella which was the basis of a major motion picture by Frank Durabond explores the horror in both the enemy you know and the one you can only imagine so I don't know

maybe is maybe is I don't know I'll have to read it really I guess now I know the fog I saw the fog if that weren't Stephen King who is it who is that then because it's only a handful of there's not many horror writers that have what is I guess there was a few but like really really famous ones that have gone and written book but written books and also had those books turned into movies now if only I had a way of finding information really quickly like at my fingertips so I could just

excuse me almost type something in and get an answer instantly but we don't have anything like that so I guess I just have to I just have to wonder I mean no idea how I could find that information out so yeah I'm gonna read that I got a few got a few fiction books I want to read oh what I do maybe tomorrow I'll read out to you the books I've got not just the ones that aren't hypnosis so I got a few and yeah I got a few what I tell you one I did

like one of my favorite books ever ever ever ever ever it's called wilt w-i-l-t that's the name of the book the name of the title of the book very funny very very very very very funny and I I read that when I was I was probably 13 13 ish 14 13 12 it just had me a laughing laughing and laughing it really did it was funny very funny book and a few years ago I think I bought about five of them or four or five of these wilt books there's a few different ones I don't

think I read all of them at the time not when I was younger but I did read I've read a few of them another book almost get a bit chilly in here now yeah Hayden's gone off completely if he here's something I read and it was beep beep beep beep beep beep beep when I was going I was in an airport in 1989 going to Spain and I had to wait about a long time for the flight but I was there way too early and it was a good I don't know 15 hours wait or

something for the flight so I was buying books from the bookshop from the bookshop or from WH Smith's or whatever it was in the airport and that's in the days when airports used to have stuff you know it used to cater for normal people just the average Joe you could buy stuff now the way the airports are situated is it's I couldn't believe how much designer shops there were you know like what what why when all I wanted was a burger I couldn't even find McDonald's I couldn't even I struggled to find anywhere to where

I could buy water outside of a machine it was just it's all these shops of nothing they're just really expensive stuff I'm surprised I haven't got necklaces and jewels and stuff like that in there what what what what what what anyway I think I was I'm not sure what what airport it was Stansted I think in London I think was Stansted anyway I got two Woody Allen books and they were both hilarious so you know whether you like Woody Allen or maybe you've never even thought about reading a Woody Allen book there's two books I

really would suggest and they are very funny one's called radio days and one's called white feather or white feathers both very funny really fun I was laughing my boobies off honestly I really and this is going back well said 1989 I have read the book since then so I had I had all of his books that he wrote and the complete works or whatever but the you know white feathers and radio days are very small books they're not big they're only probably hundred and twenty pages hundred and fifty pages something like not they're not big

books but they're very funny very very funny in fact I feel like watching them or reading them because I'm just kind of remembering slightly even though it was 33 years ago it was some funny stuff 33 years ago altogether now 33 33 it's ridiculous absolutely ridiculous you know that's part of the reason what motivates me to actually get up sit down which is probably not that energetic is it to get up and sit down again but to make a recording to actually do something to pick a book up to do because time is just going

so quickly apart from when you're in an airport or sitting on a plane goes very slowly then but a lot of the rest of the time it seems to go quite quickly but I don't want it to go slowly if it means sitting on a plane rather it not I want it to go quickly when I'm sitting on a plane not that I'm going to be sitting on a plane anytime soon my travel days are suspended for a little while I would say I need to focus on this but at least I've got something I

could dip into so I got a few memories a few little memories that I can dip into over the next 20 years so I know I haven't like spent ages talking about traveling and stuff I haven't like spent lots of time talking about it necessarily but I will mention and dip into it in the future so for example I might remember an incident that happened in the karaoke bar and I just remembered it now I won't mention it but there's this weird incident a bloke came in and well I'll mention it now but he had

a big bump on his head and everyone was concerned about him and they gave him ice for his head and he was saying all this stuff that happened and everyone was believing him and then he got up and singing some karaoke but he didn't want to sing the song that was being played so he decided just to sing his own song and they were about to close and I was about to sing the last song but I said just let him go let him sing if he wants is fine because you know it's two o'clock

and the police might if the police turn up they will get in trouble and so you know he was doing that I turned my back and what happens is I take one of the children that the son of one of the waitresses or whatever over to the 7-eleven to get him some food he didn't want food he wanted chocolate bars okay but anyway he got what he wanted and so I just took him over there and brought him back they could see you know they could see it's not like I ran off it was just

he wanted to eat so I got him some food chocolate when I brought him back the whole place was erupted and that man that came in with the bump on his head apparently had not paid a previous bar that he went into so he built up a tab and just walked out and refused to pay so they'd all be looking for him and it got quite heated so all these people that were looking after him went from like caring about him and putting ice on his head to the opposite to that let's say and some

of the people at the bar were saying to me don't get involved don't get involved I said I don't know what's happening I just want to know what's happening I don't want to get involved I just want to know what's happening I want to be in the loop why don't you people keep me in the loop I didn't know what was happening everyone was getting on with each other when I left I came back and they were all angry shouting and everything what's going on I just want to be kept in the loop she said

just want to make sure that everyone's okay I saw it's got a natural need to kind of help if I can and she says stop going on about the loop I said that's that's what you get from this is it the loop that's what you get from this whole thing I just said to you you keep coming back to the loop there you go again you keep talking about the loop what is this loop why do you keep mentioning it I just said I've had enough so I got in my spaceship and I flew away
