Hello and welcome to let me bore you to sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. My name is Jason Newland, my website is jasonnewland.com. Yep, it is Wednesday the 1st of June 2022.

Hey everybody! The 1st of another month. I should still be in Thailand. I booked to come back on the 11th of June so I've still got 10 days left.

I'm still there on holiday and here at the same time. My suggestion if anyone's going to go to Thailand and they're thinking oh well you know you get a 30-day visa when you go there, I'll book for 30 days. I would suggest maybe just book for two weeks and extend it if you if you have the option to, you know if you want to.

I mean not everyone can just stay for however long they want but two weeks is enough. I imagine for some people, some newbies, people that haven't been to maybe a hot country before. It's my first time.

So that would be, you know, maybe I'll give a little, yeah this is going to be a video of maybe some advice for someone going to, I shouldn't really say Thailand, if I say Pattaya or Pattaya. If you're going to a very popular part of Thailand as opposed to, you know, traveling in the mountains or in the forests or going to the villages out of the way, you know it's a different situation. But if you're going somewhere that is very tourist touristy like Pattaya and there's other places like Phuket, Chiang Mai, Bangkok among others.

So I was in Pattaya, Bangkok as well but Pattaya is the place I stayed at the hotel. Some people go for different reasons. I mean everyone does things for different reasons don't they? I mean Pattaya is known for being a place for say men to go and have a very interesting time.

I didn't go for that reason because I'm 52 nearly. I'm really not not really a man anymore. I'm you know pretty much dried up old grape.

So I'm basically a walking hemorrhoid. So you know it's not, I don't really have that drive that I used to last month. So part of the reason I wanted to go is because I'm a buddhist.

You know in my heart I'm a buddhist. I'm kind of also a christian. You know it's, I'm also agnostic.

You know I'm a bit of everything really. Part crab, part seagull. That's me.

So I like the idea of going to a place who's, I think it was like 94% buddhist. The population is buddhist. 94% something like that.

One of the highest percentages in the world. And I think Bhutan, is it Bhutan is the highest I think. Anyway I like the idea of people, being around people that whose core, you know they've been raised a buddhist.

They may not practice, but they've been raised. They perhaps have the same the same mentality in a way as the UK, maybe England has of being christian. There's lots and lots of people, millions upon millions of people, not just in England but around the world that don't go to church and don't really think of themselves, don't think of like religion at all.

But have that grounding of christianity as I'm sure there's other religions in other countries where people have the same kind of thing. So they don't practice it but that's a big part of their personality without them even really noticing it or being aware of it. It's just how they've been raised you know to bow and to I mean I was with someone and they had a beer which is something you know you don't really do that if you're a practicing buddhist.

Drinking alcohol is one thing that you don't do if you're practicing buddhist you know. But more if you're a monk to be fair and there's a big difference between being a monk and being a buddhist. You know it's a very disciplined thing.

Anyway this isn't really about buddhism. I was with this lady and we were sitting in a bar. It was a closed bar as in not closed to the public but closed to everyone.

It was closed since the last two years it hasn't been open. But this friend that I made she lives above the bar and she looks after it. So she you know she's basically security I guess for the place.

She looks after it makes sure that it's not that there's much in there but there's a pool table and some chairs and a bar nothing behind the bar a toilet. Yes it's not much really for anyone to take but she protects it. She protects she looks after the building and we were in there sitting around a table just me and her drinking and she poured she opened a bottle of lager poured some of it onto the road and I said what are you doing? She said I'm giving some to Buddha.

It's an offering to Buddha. So is that however strange it might sound you know because I know some buddhists in western countries can be quite there's a bit of a purist kind of idea of it because because it's not standard practice in in England or in the western world.

People that take up buddhism quite often really you know they go almost down the trying to mix being in society but living almost by monk rules or certain monk rules and the Thai people don't seem to do that but they live by certain I don't know how to explain it am I explaining it okay or is it just gobbledygook um I shouldn't use the word gook but yeah gobbledy gobbledy you know what I mean gobbledy gobbledy silliness so I I just realized what I said um yeah so I I quite admire that it was just

really this to be drinking and maybe drunk and to still have that part of you that remembers the Buddha it's kind of the opposite to like you know in the past when I've been drunk and I only remember God when I'm on the you know leaning over the toilet please let it stop you know that's that's kind of when I kind of get in touch with religion not anymore I don't get drunk but you know in the past I have like probably most people in the world at some point so I quite like that it's

quite you know there's shrines all over so that it's quite weird it's it's a weird setup in a way so you've got walking street and my hotel is just near walking street which is very famous for all kinds of adult entertainment and stuff like that and that's not really why I was there it's weird 30 years ago 20 I'm you know when I was 20 I I probably would have just exploded in my pants just getting off the plane I mean it would have just you know but these days as I said I'm a dried

up old coconut I'm just nothing going on inside but I this you know this honestly I don't know if I think it's I mean to be fair I take Prozac and Prozac is not very good for that science of things and it doesn't it doesn't prevent it happening doesn't prevent the the I'm trying to think of a good example it doesn't prevent the air entering the the bicycle tires but the bicycle tires don't always get fully inflated and sometimes I just can't be bothered with the with the pedal of the pump you know I mean

it's like I can't be bothered I'm not saying I have to pump it up I'm just you know so I'm not quite in that situation it's not a false one but can we move on please thank you and but you got these let's say go-go bars the so during the day morning till about three in the afternoon four in the afternoon it's just a few bars open and that's it shops not much in a way shops mainly 7-eleven and I think it's family mart or something like that and two supermarkets and there's a 7-eleven every

probably 200 yards they're everywhere there's loads and loads and loads of them and they sell it if if anyone remembers 7-eleven now I know that majority of my audience are in America I'm not sure if 7-eleven still exists in America now you might think well it's a silly question of course they do it's not really a silly question I know I could google it and find out I'm not that interested but I'm mildly interested just because we had 7-eleven in the late 80s in the UK in England and then it disappeared they appeared out of

nowhere like every town seemed to have one and then they just disappeared overnight like they just I don't know why because they were brilliant really good I mean they had all the alcohol you could want everything so like they were off license I'm pretty sure they also had news agents as well and they were open when other places weren't so how on earth they didn't survive and do well I've got no idea something must have gone wrong but they just disappeared I haven't seen a 7-eleven since you know late 80s until I was in Thailand

and they're everywhere so I'm wondering are they still in other other countries it's just like Woolworth Woolworth's closed what about 15 years ago in England completely closed all the stores went but there's still Woolworth's in other countries even though as far as I'm aware it's an English firm unless someone just took the name and it's a different company now Woolworth's were brilliant that was one of the best shops in the high street when I was a kid it really was it sold everything you wanted so every birthday every Christmas Christmas wasn't Christmas without walking around

Woolworth's and buying it's like the best shop to buy stuff for presents whether it was toys whether it was chocolates ornaments cards there also stationary records you know in the days when records were around and tapes you know musical records it was great absolutely brilliant Woolworth's and something happened I don't know it just went to went to poo I'm not sure what it was but it was such a great store really busy and just I loved it I did I mean even back in the late 80s I know I was stuck in the late 80s

for some reason I think I'll tell you why it's because I left where I was where I grew up as a kid or the ages from 7 to 19 I lived in a little town and I left I went to move to London I moved back for about six months or what April May June July August September October eight months I moved back in 1990 and then I moved back to London again in January 91 and then I never lived in that town again for the rest of my life so what up till now nearly

moved back a couple of times to be closer to my nan but just didn't didn't work out so that's why I'm talking about the late 80s because I was thinking about this little town I mean Boots which is we used to call them chemists not pharmacies chemists and now we call them pharmacies just like we call marathons snickers but we haven't gone as far because we're very Americanized here we do follow and copy America in England and the so they did that because I think marathons didn't they used to call them snickers in America but

they called them marathons here and they decided just it makes sense doesn't it really just to have one name for a chocolate bar although some because I've spoken to quite a few people living in America and some of the chocolate bars have still got different names ones that we have in this country so yeah it's uh that's the way it is but we don't call or at least I don't know about the young young generation but we don't call trainers snickers here or is it snickers or sneakers sneakers sneaking around that's quite a good name

sneakers we don't call them sneakers at least I don't now I'm not sure if I don't have much contact with young young people not through choice or through or not that I want to or this or not want to I just don't have I don't know anybody now that's really much younger than my own kind of age group no I don't it's weird isn't it I think part of that is because I'm not if I was working in a call center again then I'd be around people of all ages and that is nice I did

like that it's nice being around people in their 20s or you know just to kind of see how they interact and kind of remind me when I used to be young when I had virility when I could get in there anyway so I I should remember those shops with fondness now you may wonder what's that got to do with what I was originally talking about and you may have noticed that I used those words instead of actually specifying what it was I was talking about because I've forgotten I've actually forgotten what I started to talk

about Thailand how did I get from Thailand to Woolworths and sneakers and Snickers and pumping up bicycle tires I don't know oh 7-Eleven that's it 7-Eleven anyway I thought 7-Eleven were great I mean I honestly thought they were brilliant not not just because they were open later they were open when other shops were not open because this was the 80s when pretty much every shop closed on a Sunday being a Christian country that we were every shop the only shops that were allowed to open on a Sunday it was a new day newsagents and they

only opened for the morning they close in the afternoon about one or something no off licenses you could go to the pub the pub would be open in the morning from about 11 30 till maybe two half two something like that and then it'd open up again in the evening for a few hours on a Sunday I think there was a time when pubs would close on a Sunday as well maybe but all the shops pretty much no supermarkets were open on a Sunday in the late 80s and then things changed you know a couple

of years later so that's in the UK that's in England I say UK because I don't know what it was like it might be different in London in the late 80s it might be different in other parts of the United Kingdom but where I live that's what it was like Thailand 7-Eleven yeah so that was good so there's lots of 7-Elevens around and then you've got I said you've got these go-go bars which are basically dance bars where females dance and men go and watch them dance in and I never went in one I'm not

saying that because I want you to think that I'm some kind of decent person and I don't even or not not that anything's indecent about it but like that I'm some kind of um saint or anything because I just didn't get around to it I I met someone when I was out there and I just spent time with her pretty much every day for a week we were just hanging out and just so I didn't really I'll be honest I'd walk past the bars the go-go bars and I didn't really see anyone that I even

I wanted to go in and see and I've never ever since I was a young even when I was a young man in London there used to be these pubs that would have um females dance let's say dancing okay now I realize in today's times things are very different and that kind of thing is not I don't think it's even allowed anymore it's frowned upon and stuff I kind of understand you know from the different angles of opinion on that when you when you go to a place that I went to it's it's it's almost

um it's like going back in time I guess to a time where people were allowed to enjoy themselves and without judgment almost you know and those involved were making lots of money and kind of and those they did it because they want to do it not because they're being forced into it and stuff you know it's it's a very it's a different thing it's I don't know how to explain it but I didn't go into any of those establishments because and again I'm not I spent I spent most of my money giving out food to

people who are hungry and I know however that might sound a bit pretentious but that's what I did I ended up spending um at least half my money that I took with me I say at least probably more giving food out what's that noise shut up it's half term so there's a few uh little children I guess in the gardens enjoying the summer why shouldn't they enjoy the summer blimey I'm such an old old what you call an old so yeah um I think I've already talked about this anyway I'm pretty sure I've already have

I talked about the giving the food out I can't remember yeah I have I've talked about it it was great it was a great experience basically I'll just in case you haven't heard the story and how it's how it happened is I was sitting down drinking a I think it was a a melon smoothie and I basically just fresh fruit crushed up with ice and I was drinking that sitting on a step of a closed down club so the club wasn't open and quite a high step because I can't go too low down and it

was just before the alleyway where the hotel was so I'm just sitting there chilling watching people go by and this taxi driver well it was a motorbike taxi there's thousands of them out there they're everywhere honestly I mean lots and lots and lots of motorbike taxis and lots I can't even just you know the word lots does not give it justice to how many there are there's a lot anyway one of there was three two two people or three people just sitting on their bikes outside you know they were always at the end of the

alleyway where my hotel was they were just always there hanging around like waiting for customers and stuff and it's on actually on walking street so it's a pretty good place to hang out I guess and I'm sitting there and this bloke said to me this man who was a taxi driver turns out I became friends with him but he said to me you got any money what you got any money you talking to you got any money I said why have you and he pulled his wallet out and said no look got nothing I'm hungry

I said well I ain't giving you no money but I'll buy you some food if you want and he said okay he jumped up and he said my friends as well so suddenly there was four other people standing there like where do they all come from I think they must have them in his pocket got little TARDIS pockets so suddenly there's like 100 people now five five together I thought okay and he did I thought this was you know it's going to work you know it's not going to be expensive the meals in the streets

you know like street food it's very very very cheap and if all you do is eat street food you're not going to run out of money basically unless you do other other things then you could run out of money very quickly so I I didn't try the street food but I did buy street food for other people and the lady that I spent time with she used to eat street food there's nothing wrong with street food I just I was a bit worried because I don't have the my stomach isn't really used to eating foreign

food full stop I'm very very conservative when it comes to eating and the whole time I was there I didn't have one Thai food one bit of Thai food I ate western food the whole time I was just a little worried I did I just I was going to do it I was going to I was working my way towards it but at the same time I met people that I knew for two weeks and I don't know their names so you know I've known people for years and I don't know their name you know

it takes time for me to gain that information so you know I was working my way towards maybe having a bit of Thai food but I wasn't sure about the I mean I'll be honest street food isn't something that I would eat in this country so it's not it's not a Thai thing it you know I don't eat hot dogs you know sausages and rolls from the hot dog vendor in this country if it's in the street now realistically you know I see the same person every every time I go into town it's the same

person they've been doing it for years and years and years and years and years and it smells beautiful I just I don't know I have my I just have that little doubt about whether or not it's worth the risk and so I kind of you know I don't don't do it not a big risk taker although I guess I quite was quite a big risk taker by heading off on my own to another country not the first time I've done it but it's the first time in a long time that I've gone away on my

own like that and the first time I've gone that far away I've been to Amsterdam again that was because of all the museums and I went to Spain but that was just for the afternoon and been to Bulgaria but that was with friends went to Belgium again that was with friends and family so I've been a few times a couple of couple of times went to France that was with a friend and I've been to the Isle of Man and that was with a friend and that was with family and I've been to Wales that's

pretty much it now Ireland as well how could I forget Ireland Ireland but I was with friends there I was with Andre original Andre lived with him and his family so yeah I've not really been I'm not exactly a globe trotter but um I kind of feel like one at the moment I'll feel a bit like a globe trotter at the moment so yes I took this this bloke who asked me for food he led me the way just to the end of the road so I walked past my hotel right to the end of

the road and directly across was this well it looked like a bar to me but very small bar but they cook food so that's where a lot of them eat a lot of the lot of them a lot of the taxi motorbike taxis eat there so I thought okay I said five meals please and that was it and I kind of enjoyed it I liked giving food it felt nice and I've had a bit of a fantasy I'm probably the only person that goes to Pattaya in Thailand with a fantasy that doesn't involve you know

what my fantasy was to feed people to give hungry people food now I made a mistake because I ended up spending too much money and I didn't really have enough to keep me going so I came home early that's one of the reasons the other reason is I broke my rib or I cracked my rib having a Thai massage like a proper massage and I was laying on my stomach and he leant down on my left side and my rib cracked so I was walking around in a lot of pain I had no painkillers and

another reason is I went out there without any medication none at all so I was a little bit concerned about that because the reason I went without medication is because I had it all planned I was going to collect the medication on the way but they didn't have it in the chemist or the pharmacy and I was just like I can't do anything now I have to go because I had you know the airport I had to get to the airport in London so you know and that's another reason I left early and there's a

few and I noticed my moods were changing a bit I was being picked up on it from the the lady that I was spending time with she was saying oh what's wrong with you it's like I'll tell you what I find strange and I've had this in the past with various people it doesn't seem okay to have moods now I I'm not a horrible mood person if that makes sense I stay on my own I pretty much keep to myself you know go into my little cave my little man cave or whatever and I try

and cause the least amount of problems for other people in my I always have tried to do that because it's my issues my problem something I've got to deal with and it's something I've dealt with since I was a kid I've always had mood issues since I was a child and I just keep to myself try you know and deal with it it's not always been successful but it's just a way of coping uh one way anyway and then as I got older I started looking into therapy and reading books and you know trying to

um find ways that would be helpful to me to help with the situation as well as eventually getting diagnosed with bipolar and personality disorder blah blah blah blah blah and all that stuff so you know it's becoming a counsellor trained professional counsellor uh three years degree blah de blah blah we've heard all this before Jason why are you talking about the past for tell us about the go-go bars no I got no information about the go-go bars I didn't go in them all I can say about them is I know exactly well I kind of

know what goes on in them and I spent time with some former go-go dancers and they told me but I'd I'd walk past and I didn't I didn't really see anyone that I wanted to talk to there was one massage um there was loads of massage parlours like big not massage parlours as they have in the UK where you go in a back door or whatever you know go in their back door and go you know I'm talking about like a back entrance uh see well someone class it as seedy whatever um dirty carpet you

know so no but if you scrunchy carpet no if you these massage parlours were huge some of them and they'd have these big chairs reclined and maybe some of them had honestly like 20 30 chairs and loads and loads of uh not just females males as well doing the massages so there'd be a foot massage which is I had two foot two foot massages when I was there and had the Thai massage and that was it that was as much as I could uh after the Thai massage I didn't do anything apart from a foot

massage a couple of days before I left and the the lady I was I just had dinner with her we went to have a massage together so she had a foot massage I had a foot massage and mine was with a man and I didn't really enjoy it so much because I just find the women's hands just softer and I prefer um I've had men and women massage my feet over the years I've even done reflexology courses so you know it's I don't know I just prefer prefer the female touch which is a preference but

if I was going to have like a no I don't know just it's just I think they thought because we came in together that I should have a man do my feet and she had a woman do her feet I think that they've probably thought that we were kind of boyfriend girlfriend or something and so they're just a couple of friends hanging out and anyway that was okay and um there was only there's lots of massage parlours they like say massage massage massage handsome man and a lot of them were just genuine health massages I'm

not quite sure how you tell the difference but from the looks of it it was just genuine and I only saw one woman that I wanted to stop and talk to out of all looks I'd have a little look just to see what's around just and just to you know just to show respect and say hello and that um there's one one lady like in any situation I would want to talk to her I was just like wow I just wanted this but I just had to keep walking I thought no because I had a

you know cracked rib and I thought nah just it's just I don't know I'll keep walking keep walking JJ and I did but I see why people do want to go in there because it gets you out of the heat if nothing else really it's worth paying five pound for a foot massage for an hour if you get you know it gets you out of the heat for an hour air conditioning so ah it's a nice hour of relief just to have your feet played with for an hour and massaged and and it's I'm a

big advocate of um really anything like that foot massage reflexology aromatherapy hypnotherapy you know acupuncture anything like that I just think is brilliant I just love it all I really do genuinely I love it all anything that anything that makes you feel good you know anything that feels positive anything that if you're doing I think if you're doing something regardless of whether or not it's scientifically proven to be of benefit or not if you're first of all you're doing it with the intention of uh helping yourself in a healthy manner you know you're doing it

to improve your health then that's such a positive thing that it has to have a positive effect in some way because it's you're going in it with such a great attitude and also a lot of that stuff is so enjoyable to be able to just lay there and have someone massage you or massage your scalp or your feet or I've had a hand massage once this was years ago it was so intimate I started dribbling no I didn't but it was intimate and I couldn't figure it out because I've had my feet done I've had

full body massages I've had all kinds of stuff in the past everything from acupuncture reiki aromatherapy you name it I've had it done but there was something way more intimate about just having my hand massaged than sitting there practically or laying down practically naked having a back massage and having my body massaged a genuine massage my head usually and I I figured it is because I've spent most of my adult life single I've had girlfriends here and there but generally I've been single most of the time and at that time I hadn't maybe had a

girlfriend for a couple of years maybe longer and there was that intimacy of holding hands which however weird it might seem is it's some this is for me there's an emotional connection holding someone's hand let's say holding a female's hand girlfriend's hand whatever it's an intimate act that is in some ways more intimate than other stuff and maybe it's because there's that declaration to everyone around that you really like this person that you're with and you're not ashamed to be touching them or holding their hand I don't know or maybe I'm thinking it from the

other angle that they're not ashamed to be seen holding my hand maybe I don't know we're getting a bit heavy Jason can you get back to the go-go dancers please no I'm not going to talk about I didn't go into the go-go bars I can't tell you about that and I wouldn't I can't you know it's not what this podcast is about check my fan only page or is it only fans so yeah anyway after feeding these five people I just go about my day go about my life and doing my own thing and I

think it was in the evening because this was in the early afternoon like one o'clock maybe midnight midday two o'clock whatever I'm walking back a different way towards my hotel I've just been on a long walk and I'm walking back and as I'm walking a lot of people start shouting and I look beyond and it's the bar that I bought the five people food from and they were waving at me and then waving to come here so I thought oh they remember me because it was the same people in there that were in there earlier

I kind of recognized the couple and they were like oh hello and you know come and have a drink so I ended up spending a few hours there drinking with them and buying everyone drinks yeah and to be fair I mean I was I don't know I wouldn't say I was drunk but for someone that never drinks I mean I haven't had any alcohol since I got back I don't drink I just generally do not drink alcohol and I think for someone like me a couple of bottles of even weak lager makes me a bit

drunk a little bit tiddly a little bit you know not drunk drunk but just at no point away was I feeling drunk but I was feeling a buzz you know and then I decided because they I don't know how it got on to it but I just thought oh how much would it cost to do and then you know I can't remember how many I did to start with I think it was two pound fifty twenty five two hundred and fifty two hundred and fifty was that ten yeah basically I asked how much it would

cost to do a hundred meals to give out the next day to people who are hungry because they kept telling me lots of hungry people here even people working are hungry you know they're all day they don't earn any money and they've got families kids or whatever and there's no there's not much in the way of social help and so I thought okay so I said how much would it be to give out for you to cook a hundred meals and to you know give them out and so it was a hundred meals and each

one had a bottle of with it as well so it was a cooked meal in a container and a fork plastic fork and a bottle of water so she gave me the price of that now I didn't realize that she was charging me foreign prices she was charging me tourist prices not Thai prices so if those same Thai people went in there they would have got the meal half the price that I paid and so I found that out a couple of days later wasn't hugely impressed if I'm honest not it wasn't about the money

for me it was like well I could have given 200 meals out because the 100 meals went really quickly and then I did the same the next day in fact I did 150 meals the next day and I didn't know at this time that they were you know this is what was sort of going on and you know I really enjoyed the experience it tainted it a little bit knowing that well even when they sell the food to other Thai people they're still making a profit and they're not doing it for nothing so they're still

making a profit off of that and to sell that many means it's quite a good profit for the day it's a much bigger profit than they'd normally get but then I guess they saw me coming and they uh they sort of saw it as saw me as a bit of a cash cow maybe an ATM machine the thing is it's weird because they were all lovely like really friendly and they helped okay the the the lady that took the money and cooked all you know got it all done she took the money but other people

helped out was setting it up and telling people about the food giving it out you know so there was oh there was like three or four people involved in doing this and you know she did have to pay a lot pay about a few people to help her to get it all prepared because it was all at the same time so I guess technically it would cost more money than just one than the normal price because she had to pay extra people because if she's selling a hundred over eight hours you don't need more staff

because she was selling a hundred or she was making a hundred to be handed out kind of at the same time so yeah I guess it would cost a bit more money to pay for the other people to help but then I paid on top of that for the other people to help yeah I'm bright I am oh excuse me blimey so I did two days in a row when I gave out 100 meals on the first this was probably I don't know I got there a Saturday Sunday Monday probably the Tuesday maybe the Monday

and then on a Tuesday no Tuesday and on a Wednesday I'm thinking yeah because I got there the Saturday Sunday everything was closed because it was Buddha Day so there's no most of the bars were closed because there was no alcohol allowed to be sold restaurants could stay open to sell alcohol you know sell food and that but no alcohol so it's pretty much a dead town Monday is when I went out for the first time and that's the evening that I went in there Tuesday I did the first hundred meals Wednesday 150 meals and

then Thursday I was told that perhaps I wasn't getting the most value for my money so Thursday what we did is we went down to the beach me and my friend one new friend we went down to the beach and we ordered I think a hundred of these kebabs sticky things with meat and stuff on and gave those out to kids and other people that were on a beach that were hungry there's a few people quite a few people sleeping on the beach and just to tie people no no westerners just to tie people and

I mean it's so cheap there were 10 pence or 10 baht 10 baht per per stick so I ordered a hundred so that was what a thousand baht which is um I don't know 20 what I don't know I'm losing track is it a thousand by 10 times by 10 is a hundred times by 10 is a thousand a hundred bahts two pound 50 so a thousand bahts about it was about 20 22 23 pound for um for a hundred meal for a hundred sticks um is that a good deal I'm trying to think 10

baht is that right 10 20 30 that's for a hundred so a thousand is a hundred so a hundred is 250 so it's 25 pence per stick yeah 125 pound so yeah that makes sense I just so 25 pence per that's very cheap I mean two of those would have done me as a meal like a big you know maybe three as a big like full meal so that was and we put them in packs of three so we're handing them out microphone just started moving from side to side that's weird that's strange what's that

about they went really quickly so we went back and got some more and I've I think I ordered a hundred and then the the lady obviously said why don't you get the rest of those because I thought in my mind well I'll clear it I'll buy everything on the store and they can go home have an early night everyone's a winner so I ordered I just thought okay I'll get the other 50 so I bought the other another 50 as well before we left and then we went so at 150 of these things all in

in groups of three little bags of three I handed them out in like minutes they were gone really quickly and then I thought I want to get some more because this this obviously is not enough so I went and she I said well my idea is we'll go to a different store because that store's empty walked back full the stall that we just got stuff from completely full again of all new stuff same stuff but it's full it is me thinking I was like helping out and letting him you know it's just it wasn't the

case he's completely had a never-ending supply of food I think so I think we got another 100 maybe and then that was it so we ended up giving 250 of these sticks out with like meat on and again went really really quick just just bang and then we went and got some what did we do I think I think it's the same night it might not be the same it might be a different night and we the next night we went and we fed the dogs because there was a lot of wild dogs out there

so we bought a lot of these meat things again and to feed the dogs there was there was a hole there was this area where it's fenced there was fenced off and the dogs would get through it and then cross the road and go onto the beach but behind that fence there was like 20 30 dogs and there's probably a lot more as well they're just they were just hanging around so the idea was to get some of this meat and just give it to them stick it through the fence and let them have it

but they didn't want to come near the fence so we had to chuck it out take it off the sticks because they wanted to get stuck in their mouth the big wooden stick things so taking it off and chucking it over and then they'd sort of eat it but they wouldn't eat anything if it was near the fence they wouldn't want to come near the fence and so we did that went to the beach as well gave some of them on the beach some food and then we went and got some i think we got

some beers to give out so we got some beers and i got i think 20 or 30 bottles of beer and was it 40 i don't know but we got a few bags of beer and just handed them out to people as well that were sort of on the beach and just you know she knew where to the person i was with she knew where to give them to who to give them to that one you know so we did that another day i went on to walking street and it was about 11 o'clock maybe

midday so it was still not a lot happening there was they're doing a lot of road works there which i think they're trying to sort of improve the road because walking street but it's very it's trippy street you know you trip all the time so they're really working on it so there's a lot of people working but most of the places weren't open yet and there was this man sitting there with a stall and he was basically selling coffees teas cokes in containers you know ice and stuff and i i said to how much how

much for a coke how much for a drink and he said oh and he told me i said okay um if i get a hundred drinks and i sort of said i'll buy a hundred and we'll give them out he didn't understand so what i did is i took one of the containers he looked at me a bit like what are you doing touching my stuff but i picked it up and i just handed it handed it to someone that was sitting by and then handed it to another bit like that and he said oh

okay so people started gathering because uh all the workers on the road uh the motorbike taxis different people just came over uh street cleaners and uh there's uh you know just come in and but they weren't all having coke because my original thing was to buy coke a lot of them were having coffee and tea and like coffee but with ice is it frappuccino or whatever i don't know i've never had one and so i sort of stood watching him do it and then after that i said let's do another 50 and because he'd run

out he literally hadn't he didn't have any more containers he said i've only got that many i said okay and it was really cute well he gave me the last when we'd run out there was uh we went to a shop and the people came out so can we have three and we do or can we have four and we only had one left and i think they had their own containers or their own cups or whatever so he said don't on me so he gave it to them free so that was cool but once

we'd got rid of the hundred i said perhaps we should move further up because walking street's a long road and we're done probably one third of it you know people from both directions were coming but there's another further up there was people that didn't know we were there so he said get on my bike so he was on a motorbike and this big store thing connected to his bike and it was my first road trip and it was interesting let's say so he drove me only literally 20 seconds 10 seconds up the road it wasn't

far but then we stopped and started giving stuff out further up so that that was a nice experience i enjoyed that it was good and we did that a few i didn't only did that once but we did the feeding people on the beach a few times uh giving drinks out and stuff like that but it's good and then i realized i was running out of money it's like what what what's happening and you know because i was because i had me rib was hurting and i just thought oh so i came home early changed

the ticket flight came home and i got home last i don't know whenever thursday friday and here i am here i am again um so that's the story that's some of the story there's other things there is one thing and um it's kind of funny uh i might have told this before i was waiting outside i was just going to have my hair cut and i was just sitting outside with the two ladies one that was going cut my hair and one that was in charge and we're just chatting and she was had really good

english so we were just talking and uh i was moaning about having a bald patch on the back of my head she found that funny and i said it's not funny it's not my dad he's like in his late 70s and he's got he's got more hair than me you know it's just not fair you know what she said she pointed at two men that were across the road and she said at least you're not as fat as them uh we weren't talking about weight great now you reminded me i'm fat as well as bald

brilliant thank you very much and good night so yeah she found that hilarious as well because it's like what so i'm going to go thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself be gentle with yourself you deserve to be happy lots of love bye
