Hello and welcome to Jason Newland dot com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.
Excuse me, I had a bit of a coughing fit a minute ago. It's the residue. I think what it is is, is, is.
I've done two loads of washing and I've got all this wet clothes hanging up on the curtain railings above the radiators and I've got the radiators on blast. Trying to dry the clothes because I'm going on a holiday tomorrow. It's not really a holiday, I'm just going to go visit my parents but I'm going to stay there for a week.
So I'm going to be away for a week just, you know. I don't really know what I'm going to be doing if I'm honest but I'm just gonna go to the beach and read a couple of books. I'm just going to chill out.
But, but, but, but, but. Oh yeah, why I'm coughing is I think the clothes drying, the wet clothes drying has kind of got on my chest a little bit. Even I've got all the windows open and I've literally got clothes everywhere.
I don't normally do two loads. I'm a one load man. I usually can't manage two loads, not in a, not in a row.
Because you know, where do I put the washing? To dry but at the moment there is quite a big gap between the first and the second one. So some of the first stuff's dry or dry-ish and yeah so it's kind of got on my, got on my tits a little bit, made me cough. But all the windows are open so you know.
The electricity bill wasn't as high as what I thought it was going to be. The electric and gas bill because the news keep going on about every day, oh it's gone up another bit and me, me, me, me, me, me, me. And my bill is less than £300 for three months.
Considering it's the winter months, it's like whoa, that's really good. So the hike, although it's, I guess it's going to come, will be for the spring onwards. So I use less electric and gas, I suppose all of us do in the spring and in the summer because of the heat and being off.
So yeah it should be, should be manageable or you hope. Oh yeah I was gonna say, I don't know if you remember, I went to Cornwall in May last year, well actually it was the very end of May. It was, it was about two, two weeks, three weeks or whatever after Andre passed.
And I was going on, I need to get away, I need a holiday and my friend actually offered me, I'll move the microphone a bit closer to my mouth, that's better. I don't know why, how the microphone gets loose, that's weird, that's very strange. Okay I'm doing it, I'm screwing it the wrong way, that's better.
Sorry if that was noisy in your ear. Yes I, I might get a little bit of hay fever, you know, I've noticed that around this time of the year, sort of when the weather starts to get a bit better and I get a little bit stuffy, a little bit chesty, a little bit coughy, a little bit sneezy, a bit sniffy. But it's not a cold and it's, it's not the other thing, it's, it's I think just an age thing, I kind of, I don't get a full-on blown out hay fever because I feel sorry for people who get hay fever.
It's horrible, I mean the nicest time of the year for most people, you know, the summer, a lot of people look forward to the summer, to be able to go out finally, especially if you live in a country like this, where half the year, I don't know about half the year, but it's, the weather's not great, even when it's not raining or whatever, it's still quite, I don't know, we get bright days but it's cold. So you know, like today, yesterday, really sunny and then it gets cloudy after a couple of hours. But even when it's sunny, it's still cold because it's that, you know, we get a couple of months, three months maybe, where it's just nice.
I even, I don't know, I don't want to moan about it because I'm used to it and how there's more things to worry about than weather, but I just, I know people look forward to it, that's what I'm saying, and then I feel sorry for people that look and they can't go out because they've got these stupid snotty noses because of the hay fever. I had a friend that had it and it was just, it was just snotting all over the place all the time and it was, apart from being disgusting for everyone else, it was just like, oh, because he loved the summer. Oh, I used to want to pick him up and just cuddle him.
It'll be okay. The fact that he was six foot four, I couldn't really pick him up and do anything but anyway, yeah, oh yeah, really, that's what I'm talking about. I'm going to take my microphone kit with me.
So I've got a portable microphone kit that I used because as I said in May, my friend offered to take me on holiday with her and her family and it was the end of May, literally like a few days before the end of May, so I went because I needed to get away. Now it was a mistake but hey, there you go, but I went and I can't, I really needed to be on my own. So, but I didn't, I knew that but at the same time, I just jumped at the chance of getting out there.
So, but I took my Porto portable podcasting kit with me, which is, it's a Shure, little Shure microphone with a microphone stand, and a little lead that goes into the iPad. And I can record on your iPhone rather, and I can record on it just the same way as I'm doing here. Not the same quality, you know, it's a, I mean the whole kit was about 160, 170 pound, 180 pound or something.
So it's not a rubbish microphone, it's not a rubbish little thing. There's not the same setup as I have here, you know, this is a better setup for podcasting, the microphone is a better microphone for podcasting. But that microphone that I've got, it's still a hell of a lot better than most of the podcasts that I did up to three years ago.
It's still way better than the stuff I was doing 10 years, you know, quality is way better, just not as good as this, because I'm using a better microphone and all the different bits to go together with it. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to still my plan, because it's a little kit, it's really small. Bragging about the smallness, yet again.
So I'm going to take it with me. I'm going to make some podcasts while I'm away. And I might, might, might, might, might, might, I'm really, really thinking about this, I might make some videos as well, because I'm going to be visiting my, my old hometown, where I grew up from the age of seven to 18.
So I might make some videos showing you where I went to school. And the beach I used to go on houses I used to live at homes I lived at, what other things to places I used to work. Yeah, I try to think I'm not for my even visit the karate club I used to go to and just say hello to see if the same man is running it.
Because he's got to be in his. I mean, I was 14. He must have been in his 30s then.
He must have been. But it's hard to tell because everyone looks old when you're 14. So he might have only been 2728.
So you might have only been like double my age. Which means he'd be in his like middle 60s. But he might be in his 70s.
He might be even older, he might have been in his 30s or late 30s. But I don't think so. He's I think he's fairly young.
When I think about it, like, he probably wasn't. If he was 3032, maybe he couldn't, I don't think it'd be much more than that. So I quite like to go and say hello to him and just thank him.
Because he I gained a lot from doing karate at school. No, I didn't do it at my school. I actually went to a different.
We had two high schools in my town. And I went to the other high school to do karate in the evenings. And one of the benefits actually, which was completely separate to the karate was I got to make friends with kids from the other high school.
And a lot of the tough kids did karate. So it was, I'm not saying it was just ad. It's handy when you're a kid, you're a teenager.
It's handy to know. But is this is handy to know the tough kids. I wasn't a tough kid.
I was just I was too too little to be anything but little, you know. I mean, most people could just pick me up and just chuck me away if they wanted. I had to wear heavy boots so I didn't blow away in the wind.
I was very little. My dad only bought me balloons once for my birthday. Never again.
Not after the amount of problems, the rescue operation from the police and the lifeguards and that. I was halfway out through the sea. Honestly, I was halfway to France before they managed to get me.
But I tell you what, I got one hell of a grip. Which has come in handy for many different reasons. And especially when I'm trying to grip onto something.
I was a little bit like there was an action man years ago. I'm saying years ago because I don't actually buy action men anymore. But I had one that was eagle eyes and real grip hands.
Now there might be some people listen to this that remember that. And it was a really fuzzy hair. Really, really short fuzzy hair.
Not quite sure how they did the hair like that. And a little thing at the back of the head where you can make the eyes move from side to side. And the hands gripped.
So you could literally, because I was little, I could put my little finger in and it gripped my hand. And it was so cute. It gripped my little finger rather with its hand.
I had hours and hours of fun with these little hands. So it's, I don't know why I'm mentioning the action man. I don't know why.
So yeah, I've got this microphone rather, not microwave. I'm not going to take a microwave with me. No.
Oh, so I've got this microphone. I'm going to be making some podcasts. I'm going to take my iPhone and I'm going to be making some videos as well.
Just some vlogs. Just a vlog, Jason Chats vlog. Maybe do a few of those.
Just for the fun of it. And I'll stick them on YouTube. Yeah, that's what I'll do.
So I'll have my iPad. I'll take my iPad with me so I can do the editing for the audios and for the videos. I'll take the iPhone.
I won't bother with the laptop. I won't need that. I'll just make do with the iPad.
I don't want to carry too much stuff. And I've got my little microphone set. That should be enough.
I've got a couple of books I'll take. And the rest is just some clothes. Yeah, I've only really got two tops that I can wear.
Like, I'm not, like, like sweat tops, kind of, you know, hoodies. Two hoodies. And I just wear a different t-shirt every day.
And that's it. And underpants. So seven days.
I should get, yeah, two, two pairs of underpants should be enough. And one pair of socks. And maybe I'll, no, I'll do three, three pairs of underpants.
Just, just in case I have an accident. Oh, blimey. Am I four years old? Yes, I am.
So yeah, it's, I just booked, just booked this little breakaway for seven days. And I must admit, I'm not the least bit excited about it. Isn't it weird? Zero excitement.
And because I'm going nowhere interesting. That's the thing. If I was, I'd like to go to Torquay.
And I looked into it and I could have gone. I could have gone to Torquay. I could have gone anywhere.
But like in the UK that is. But for some reason, because I want to say, I haven't, I haven't seen my dad or any, any of my family for over two, two and a quarter years. So it's about time I kind of went and visited.
And plus this month, I've only got, what's the date today? It's the 13th of March today. So I go away tomorrow, the 14th. I'll get back on, is it the 21st? I'll just check that.
Right, I better keep the mic, keep the phone away from the microphone. Yeah, so I'll be coming back on the 21st. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. So it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday night, come back Monday.
And then I've got. Two weeks until my, well, less than two weeks. Until my hypnotherapy.
Diploma in clinical hypnotherapy course starts. It's that weekend, I think the first weekend of April. Let me just check that.
Let me check my email. My email should tell me. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Or will it, will it? Won't it? So many emails. So many. Oh, yeah, we go.
Here we go. No, it doesn't say anything. No, it is.
It's the first weekend. It says each study day starts at 9.30am, finishes at 5.15pm. The start date is the 2nd of the 4th. Which is the first, yeah, first Saturday of April.
So. I think once I start the course. I'm going to be spending my time studying.
Between weekends. So it's one weekend a month. Over.
Well, it's 10 full weekends. Between now. And December.
And then January. I think. Yeah, I think it is.
I think January is the exam. That weekend is the exams. So I've got 10 weekends.
So between each weekend, I'll be doing coursework and I'll be doing studying and reading and. I'll be practicing the things I learn. On the podcasts.
Yeah. So I'll be making practical use of this practical course. So it's a win-win really for everyone.
So yeah. So I'm going to be. I'm planning.
Yeah, I think this week I will make some videos, make some podcasts and just. Have a bit of fun. Just chill out, relax.
There's things I kind of need to think about. And. You know, I've.
I've not not been feeling not doing great the last few months. Really, you know, to be fair, not really since. Since May, I've not really been.
Myself, I don't know if it's the right word, but yeah, not being not done great. And, you know, it made it, I think, harder with all the restrictions and stuff. That everybody's had to go through.
So I'm not alone on that one. But in other ways, things have gone really well. It's a weird one.
It's a really kind of strange. Sort of situation. So I kind of I don't want to moan.
But I do want to moan because I love moaning, but I don't really want to moan. Not really, but I kind of. I feel I should.
I mean, it's. I've been quite pleased. March, what's the date? The 13th, 14th.
I mean, basically since. In the last 12 months. And I want to give you some statistics.
I'm not going to give you lots, just one number. OK, so don't get worried. In the last year, 12 months, exactly, you know, the last 365 days.
I've had 5,000,695,682 downloads. So 5,000,000, nearly 700,000 downloads in the last year. That's not too bad, is it? It's not bad.
It's pretty good. I reckon. I'll get more.
So the amount I got last year, I'll get more this year than I did last year. And so. Yeah, I'm pretty pleased, pretty pleased with that.
It's. It's quite nice. Quite a nice figure.
Just something nice about saying the word million, even if it isn't money. I mean, I've never. I've never been able to say the word million in money when referring to myself.
But being able to say millions of downloads. Without lying, without making it up, just truthfully, that's how many downloads I've had. That's the stats.
And. It does. Yeah, it feels quite good, I suppose.
Considering I was my dream. Was to one day reach 10,000 downloads in a day. That was my dream for years.
That was like my target. And. Once I hit the target.
I pretty much never went back. And then I had a target of like I want 20,000 and then I hit that target and and. I've had some days where I've had 50,000 downloads.
Not many, but it's been a few days. I've had quite a few days I've hit 40. Quite even more where I've hit 30,000 in a day.
20,000 is not even a high number anymore. Even though it is really. 20,000 downloads a day, that's 600,000 a month.
Which is what six, seven, 7,200,000 a year. So it's quite a lot really in for some for someone like me. I mean.
Not for someone successful, but for little old me doing this in my little bedroom. Wearing my pyjamas. These Spider-Man pyjamas.
It's not too bad, is it really? Considering I'm talentless, I've got no. I just. I literally talk about nothing.
Although in all fairness, the most popular podcasts are the hypnosis ones, so I do. Do stuff in those ones. I do talk and I do.
Try and make them. Useful, you know with the let me boy just don't let me play the sleep ones. It's more.
I don't know what you want to call it just a bit. Silly, sometimes. Bit pointless, maybe.
I mean it, there's an ongoing. Monologue about my life, you know. And especially when I make recordings every day, I just sort of update you on what's going on and.
None of it's interesting, particularly sometimes I'm interested in what's going on. But it's not going to be interesting to anyone else. I don't imagine.
But it's. It's something. I mean, you know.
As soon as people stop listening, I'll stop making them. Now there's there's a challenge. It's just people are still listening.
So what can I do? And I still get thousands of people listening every day to the let me boy to sleep recordings. So I can't. I can't.
I'm not just going to stop. So, you know. I do wonder.
Why any anyone would listen really? It's just me just. Waffling on. Blah, blah, blah.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I was looking and thinking about getting myself a puppy. I just don't know.
I think my work, one of my worst nightmare. But my work, one of my worst. Well, what a worry I have is if I did get a puppy and it was like a barky.
Yappy dog. All the time. I couldn't.
I couldn't have that. That's just those type of dogs. I just.
I know they exist. We all know they exist, don't we? But there's no reason for it. Is this is someone shouldn't be allowed to have a dog like that unless they live.
Miles away from anybody else. Because why should you have to put up with it? Why should anyone have to put up? With a neighbor that's got a yappy dog that's constantly barking. That's not fair on the neighbor, on the neighbors around them.
And there's someone there's a dog out the road and it's it's not even anywhere near. It's not in my building. It's it's.
It might even be like four or five minute walk from where I live. But I hear it every day in spurts. Ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff.
Ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff. Ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff. Ruff ruff ruff ruff ruff.
Now I just have this imagination because I had a landlady that used to say this. She looked after his dog and it was a yappy one all the time. He's talking to me.
I said shut that thing up, will you? No, he's talking to me. Ooh. He.
Oh, God. It was the cutest little dog but so yappy and disturbing of my sleep. I was not impressed.
But it was only for two weeks. If it had been there all the time I would have had to move out. I would have had to move out and just... Yeah, I would have had to move out.
That would be the only real option. He's talking to me. I don't know.
I don't speak talk. Because he's smiling. Gosh, she was thick.
No, she was lovely. It used to be a bit annoying. Slightly.
Just very slightly. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind dogs barking sometimes. That's normal.
You know, when a dog gets excited. Or when a dog is like someone at the front door or whatever. But I'm talking about like... All constantly.
That. I'm not talking about a dog that barks. Of course all dogs bark at times.
I'm not being hateful towards dogs. I just struggle with dogs that can't... It's the same with humans though. It's the same as if you've got to live next door to someone where they're yelling.
Living next to a couple is hard. Sometimes. Because I've been lucky so far.
Lately, I've been lucky. Because I've lived in houses, shared houses where there's couples sharing a room. And listening to them.
They don't stop talking. Or at least one of them doesn't stop talking. And the arguments... Even when they're not arguing, they're just constantly yabbering on and on and on.
And when you live on your own, you don't do that. I have the occasional conversation out loud on my own. But there's nothing wrong.
If you live with someone, you're going to talk to them. I can see both sides. But being a neighbour to that.
If you live above it or below it or next to it. Especially if they're always bickering. I've had that in the past.
I've been lucky in a way to not have had to experience that too often. Because being a single person, I've often ended up living in places with single people. Like middle-aged men.
And I was living with middle-aged men many times over the years. Until I eventually became a middle-aged man. And I continue to live with middle-aged men in shared houses.
Until I moved here. And pretty much everyone here has been middle-aged. I'm not the oldest.
There's two people older and two people younger. But they're all middle-aged. They're all over 40.
To be fair, once you get to 45, 45 and 50, there's no difference. There's no difference really. There's just the horribleness of saying 50.
Or 51 or 52 soon. I remember when I used to think that 30 was old. I remember thinking, I'll be 30 soon.
I might never have sex again. I'll be 30. I'll be old.
And now look at me. 51. I really am old now.
I wasn't old then. I was young. I was in my prime.
For a man, 30, physically 30 years old is pretty much the prime. It's when you're physically, potentially at your best. It's downhill from there.
Possibly. But 30, there's loads of sports people that are at their peak when they get to 30. Or late 20s.
Maybe I'm at my peak now. Maybe this is my peak. 51 is my peak.
I used to think, when I was thinking about how my, the projectory of this free hypnosis service that I started in 2006. And I thought, I'll just get started between 2006 and 2010. Because I was 35 when I started making videos and recordings and podcasts and stuff online.
And I thought, okay, between now and 40, I'll kind of learn. I'll be learning what to do and I'll sort of learn the ropes and stuff. Between 40 and 50, I'll improve.
But I always imagined between 50 and 60 would be my peak years. It would be my most prolific period. When I did the most work.
When I did the most, I got the most done. And then maybe between 60 and 70, start to maybe slow down a little bit, you know. Maybe continue, but maybe not make quite as many recordings.
But have the audience, a large enough audience where I didn't need to be making recordings every day. So maybe make a couple of recordings a week or one a week maybe, would be enough because I'd have such a huge back catalogue, which I actually do have. I've got a huge back catalogue now actually.
But by the time I'm in my 60s, the back catalogue will be absolutely massive. So maybe make a new recording once a week or maybe write a book or, you know, stuff like that. But it'd be a more, more relaxed pace and I'd be in semi-retirement, still doing a free service, still carrying on what I'm doing.
It'll, I mean, come on, it'd possibly be in a very different format. This, the format that you're listening to this now or will, blimey, in 10 years time, the internet may be completely different. It might not be around anymore.
It might be something different completely that's taken, it's taken over from it. I don't know what, but it might be literally a pair of glasses you put on and everything's on there. Anything you want, anything you need, you just say what you want.
I suppose a bit like Alexa and stuff like that. And it just plays it in your ear. Or maybe we have little, little, I don't know, microchips in our brains or whatever.
So you can just visualize what's going on. So you don't need to watch a TV screen, you can just close your eyes and the movie plays inside your mind. Or the video.
Or the audio, you know, so I guess things will change, but as it changes, I will just adapt with it, as I have done over the years. So yeah. And then between 70 and 80, I imagine, you know, moving more towards, you know, still being busy, but I might be in a position then where people might want to meet me.
I don't know why they'd want to meet me, but maybe I'd want to meet them, maybe I'd like to travel around and meet some of the audiences that have been listening to me for decades. And there are some people that have been listening to me for over a decade. So some people tell me, I get the occasional message, I've been listening to you since 2009.
Blimey, that's 12 years. 12 and a half. Why? Why would you listen to me for that long? Stop it.
I do, I appreciate it. It's just, it's just mind-blowing to me that anyone would want to listen to me to start with. I generally don't really, I mean, I didn't expect anything to come from this.
When I very first posted a video on MySpace, I think it was a relaxation session, a video that I did in black and white, lasting about 10 minutes, and I just uploaded it. I didn't expect anything. I was very nervous, to be honest, I was at the time.
I was, and also being on video, I didn't like the idea of being on video, hence the black and white, because I've got a pink face, basically, and I didn't really want my face on there. But I thought in black and white, it's fine. Ish.
And I was surprised at the positive feedback I got, because MySpace was quite a positive space. Unlike Facebook, MySpace wasn't a place where people got personal with each other. It was a very supportive, I mean, it was supposed to be for music enthusiasts, musicians and people who like to listen to music.
It turned into more than that, the first big social network site with many, many, many, many, many millions of people worldwide using it to communicate and to connect with each other. But I remember it being quite a positive experience. And then Facebook came along and I remember that being a very positive experience to start with.
And then it went, yeah, it went a bit weird. I mean, really, Facebook wasn't for adults. It was for kind of student age, maybe up to early 20s, but mainly late teens, teenagers, late teens, early 20s.
It wasn't, you know, that's what the age goes. It was for students. I mean, it was built for students to start with, wasn't it? By old Zutterberg, whatever his name is.
And then young people all over the world discovered it and loved it. And then the parents came and took over and ruined it, I think, for the young people. Because I guess they wanted to spy on their kids.
A lot of them find out what they're up to, what they're talking about, what they're doing, which is, I guess, quite understandable if you're a parent. You know, you kind of want to make sure your kids are OK and being haven and being haven, behaving, not being haven. But I think the adults, including myself, spoiled Facebook for the young people.
Because I just went on there to promote my free service. I had no interest in Facebook and all the stuff like that. And the main thing I really couldn't get my head around was these egg buddies.
There's still some out there. And I don't, you know, what was that? Was there Farmville as well was another one. I had a friend who absolutely loved Farmville and I was making these farms and stuff on Facebook.
And I'm like, what the hell are you doing? What's the point in that? But she loved it. But I kept getting friend requests from egg buddies. And I'm like, go away.
Eventually I managed to get rid of all of them because I went through this period. This is what I did on Facebook. Oh yeah, it's not just for TikTok, it's another one.
It's for kids. And there's loads of adults doing it. It's not for adults, it's for kids.
That's who it was aimed at. Teenagers, kids. And Twitter, it was all these things aimed at young people.
And old people have to get on board. We need our own stuff. We need our own social network sites that are separate from the children or the young people so they can just do their own thing without being watched or without, you know.
Because it's weird. So I've watched a little bit of TikTok on YouTube. YouTube, some videos and stuff.
And I've watched a little bit of TikTok just to sort of see what is going on there. Thinking I should get involved because I'm on every other social network. And I looked at it and I thought, no.
Really, it's not for me. And you see these young people and I think it all looks silly anyway even when young people do that stuff. Like copying and doing the same thing.
But seeing middle-aged people do it, I don't know, it just seems really sad. And I shouldn't say that. And it's fine, do what you want, it's nothing to do with me.
But it's for kids. And maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy. Maybe that's what it is, I should just shut up.
It's got nothing to do with me or what anyone does. It's just thinking of a particular person that I know that does it. And I'm just a little bit embarrassed for them.
Because it's just like, this is for your daughter, not for you. This is not your website. TikTok is not for you.
This is for your teenage daughter. That's what it was created for. Not for teenage wimp girls, I mean, I'm sure boys as well.
But it's been taken over. I think the first people to take it over is the older kids. Or the older, like the 20s.
The ones that can see that there's money in it. They can make money by being on it. Or Instagram is another one.
I'm on Instagram, but I don't use it. But that's another one. That was for kids, that was for young people.
And I think that's the one that hasn't really been taken over by the parents. Instagram seems to still stay quite young. It's moved more into, I think, 20s.
But a lot of the people that were on Instagram when they were kids are now adults. Like they're in their early adult years. So they've managed to, seem to have managed to keep oldie people off of there.
I don't know quite how they did it. But it's more, I think it's, there's a trendiness that you just, you don't have unless you're young. You can't, to be trendy and trending, you pretty much, it's generally, especially with Instagram, it's sort of very good looking young adults seem to be the people that are leading the way on that one.
They don't want people, bawdy, bawdy, fat, middle-aged men like me going on there. Although I do sometimes go on there. I'm very, I've not, I just, I've not tried to build an audience.
I've got a few followers and I posted a couple of few, few things, you know, a few years back, but I struggle with how to use it. And, and it's just, it's weird because it's not, it's not my thing, like pictures and stuff like that. But what I do is useful for people of all ages.
And I've had young children tell me that they're listening to what I do. They listen to the hypnosis sessions and it helps with anxiety at school and stuff like that. I've had young adults, people in their twenties, all the way up to people in their eighties, contact me and sort of thank me and sort of say they use what I do, recordings and stuff.
So I've got quite a wide audience, but I imagine, I mean, I only, I've got to imagine because I don't know, because generally I don't get a lot of feedback really. Not considering how many downloads I get and how many people listen. I don't get a huge, huge amount of feedback.
And those that do give feedback or leave a message on my website, I don't know who they are anyway. I don't know how old they are. I don't know if they're 21 or 91.
Or sometimes even if it's a man or a woman from the name. That's Peter, P-E-T, P-E-T-A. Is that a man or a woman's name? And I realise that there is a part of society that wants us to stop even saying the word man or woman.
But I don't care at all. Man, man, man, woman, woman, woman, woman, man, man, man, man, woman, woman, man, woman, man, woman, man, woman, man, woman. So yeah, I don't know.
It'd be lovely to do a survey and really get a real sense of who's listening to my podcasts. Because I get, there's a few people that keep in touch, you know, send me the odd message now and then. And it's the same people quite often.
And it's, you know, I sort of get to have an online communication and sort of say hello. And it's nice. It's only a handful of people really, it's not many people that sort of, yeah, not many.
But I would like, I mean, that's the one thing that I actually get a buzz out of is when I get a message from people saying that what I do is useful and to actually tell me about how it's useful. You know, someone that maybe has listened to the Relax and Sleep Hypnosis Daily or if they've listened to a Relaxation Hypnosis for Stress, Anxiety and Panic Attacks. They'll listen to that podcast and listen to one of those ones that's where I'm talking about letting go or talking about anxiety relief or whatever.
Or got a technique which may be useful. And it's nice to get that feedback. And quite often, like in the past, I've had some people would say, oh, I listened to you last week and it was the best thing in the world and it's brilliant and all that stuff.
Which is great. And it's lovely to hear that. There's something even more special sometimes when you hear, I get a message from someone that's been listening for a while, maybe for a few months, maybe longer.
And they've allowed the, they've allowed the gradual benefit of listening to me regularly to affect them in a positive way. And they've noticed it and they've let me know. They've sent a message on my website, for example, which is the best place really to send messages to me or leave a review.
That's the one. If you click on a review page on my website, it's in the menu. You can leave a review and it's then there forever for everyone else to see.
And it's lovely. I love seeing that stuff. It's very satisfying.
Almost makes it feel worthwhile. Yes. So I've done my laundry.
I've washed my bag. I can't. Yeah.
So I'm going to leave. I'm not leaving early tomorrow. So there's plenty of time.
And I'm probably going to have me backpack. And then one more bag that I'll carry. Just so that should be enough stuff to keep me going for the week.
And if I need more stuff, then I'll just. But I don't know. Ask my ask my stepmom to wash me underpants for me or something.
I wouldn't do that. Maybe ask what can use the washing machine. Yeah, I probably wouldn't do that.
That's just a bit rude, isn't it? Mind you, I've stayed there before and use the washing machine. Not for a long time, but I did once, I think. I think I did.
Maybe I didn't. Wow. No, I think I did because I went there once and I had a job interview.
So I ended up borrowing my dad's clothes, I think. Like his shirt and washing it and ironing it. Or, you know, just for the job interview.
I kind of wish I hadn't. Wish I'd just stayed in London. But I didn't.
I moved. Then I moved here. No.
Let me get this right. I moved from London. Stayed in a bed and breakfast.
Then I moved. To a different town. Then I moved again.
Then I moved again. Then I moved here. That's it.
A few different places. And I've been here, I've been here nearly 8 years. Can you believe it? Nearly 8 years.
Now some people listening to this may remember when I moved in. You might remember I didn't have this podcast. I didn't have hardly any of the podcasts that I've got now.
What I did have is an ongoing, just one podcast that all my stuff was on. And I do the occasional Jason Chats videos. And I would talk about it on there.
And I might have mentioned it on some of the audio recordings I did for the podcast. I don't remember. It's amazing.
Time just go by so quickly. So quickly. Yes, it does.
Sierra. Oops. Wait a minute.
Wait a minute. Got my phone on the wrong one. That's it.
That's it, good. I've got a little sign on my wall that says, You do nothing, you get nothing. True.
Very true. Very often, but not always. True.
Trudy, true, true, true. And that's it, I think. All I have to remember is to take my charger.
But what I'm going to do is just take one plug. And then just have the leads. To charge what needs to be charged.
So I've got the iPad that needs to be charged. I've got the iPhone that needs to be charged. Is that it, isn't it? Yeah, there's nothing else.
Yeah, that's all there is. Yeah, so I don't need to. Yeah, it's not a lot to do, so.
And. I'm not going to be on the iPad a lot of the time. I'm not, you know, so.
It probably, I won't need to charge it more than perhaps. A couple of times when I'm away. The iPhone will run out.
The iPhone. I mean, the batteries, they're OK, but. I suppose if I don't use it, it probably lasts a couple of days, the battery.
But once you use it, you know, it does go down. I'm not sure if I'm going to take my mobile internet with me. I might do because.
It's just, it's mobile. I can just take it with me and it gives me full internet. It would make sense, really, wouldn't it, to take it with me? Yeah, I probably will, actually.
Because at the moment I've got it plugged in. But it can run, I think, eight hours just on the battery inside. But I've got it plugged in permanently.
And it runs everything, including the television. I've got four, five devices running off of it. But only one, two, three, four.
Four devices that I use. The other one is a phone. In fact, it's got its own internet on that phone now.
I just need to figure out how to change the number over. But the television, it buffers. It doesn't buffer while it's playing.
But it buffers right at the beginning before the program starts. Now, I'm going to continue for a few weeks using the mobile device. The mobile data, the mobile Wi-Fi.
Internet, broadband, whatever you want to call it. Until I know for certain that I'm going to be able to watch television, stream it on TV without a problem. And then I'll get rid of the other one.
But I don't want to get rid of the other one yet. Oh, wait a minute. No, I did change it over.
I did. No, I did change it over. I was going to say, did I change it over on telly? But I did, I remember.
Television is definitely working off of the data here, which is pretty amazing. Because it's the other side of the room and it's working really well. I'm quite pleased actually.
Very pleased. I'm even more pleased than that. I'm just really pleased.
I'm just so pleased indeed. It's working out so very well. Or did I change it? I'm pretty sure I did.
Pretty, pretty sure. So yeah, that's it. I want to go.
So thank you for listening to another super duper exciting edition of let me bore you to snoop. And the next time you hear me. It will be sound a little bit different, but it will be, you know, should be okay.
And I will be on holiday for a week. Just pottering around, relaxing, reading a book. A couple of books I've got to read.
That I want to read. And just generally trying to relax. Just taking a break, getting away from here.
That's kind of what I need. I think that's part of a holiday is getting away from where you're used to being. And maybe when I get back, I can maybe start appreciating what I do have a bit more.
You know, but it'd be nice just to get away. I'll turn everything off. Make sure that the kitchen is all clean and tidy.
And there's no food left out or anything like that. And the sinks all clean. So all the dishes are done.
God, this is so boring, isn't it? Proper boring. Anyway, I want to go. Thank you for listening.
Remember to be kind to yourself. Because you deserve to be happy. Think of something that you can do.
That will give yourself some pleasure. Doesn't have to cost money. Just something simple.
Something that you enjoy doing. That will take you out of yourself. That will give you a rest.
To give you a different experience. And be gentle with yourself. Lots of love.
Bye.
