Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Something weird just happened.

I have just spent the last 36 minutes making a podcast and filming it for YouTube and the camera just stopped working on my phone. It just cut off which in itself is annoying but I can just continue recording and just edit it together. However it didn't save what it recorded and I've got no idea what happened.

So I've basically got rid of the audio because the whole thing was me showing pictures. To be fair, as a podcast that would have been quite boring anyway wouldn't it? I just realised that would be pointless. I know I went through the picture like showed the pictures and stuff and you know talked about the the because I've already done that.

I've already gone through. Yeah that would have been a really pointless podcast. Good for a video.

Wow I didn't even think about that. Yeah that would have been a bit silly because I'd have been saying here as you can see and you can't see can you because you're listening on a podcast. Ah yeah so maybe yeah so I deleted the the audio anyway.

I deleted that podcast and I started again. Yes I started again. Here we are again.

A bloody gain. Damn you. Can't believe it.

Can he believe that I wasted that much time? It just frustrates me. Ah never mind. So today's been raining all day long.

All day long I tell you. All day long. And you know I didn't go out.

Eventually actually I did go out. I went for a walk. I decided you know what I need to walk every day.

I need to go out every day for a long walk. Specifically for my lower back. It exercises my lower back.

It stretches me and it's something I do every day. So I go for a long walk every day. Sometimes twice a day and it's something that I just need to do for and for now.

Plus I gotta get out. I gotta be outside. Spend some time outside even if it's cold or windy or raining you know.

Still gotta go out and I try to avoid the rain but it's been raining on and off all day long and it was raining particularly hard when I went outside and I thought hmm I'll go out anyway. I'll just get soaked. It's not cold but it was cold.

But I thought yeah I'll just get soaked through. Not soaked through because I had my, I had a big winter coat on. So I didn't get, I got wet, wet trousers but I got them off when I got home.

So I was, my, my MyFans, MyFans. I nearly did a MyFans account. Not for the stuff that it's generally used for but I thought it'd be quite a good way of maybe doing private material, you know, not necessarily personal but just some recordings that you can't get elsewhere that'll only be available for MyFans.

Don't go, you know, MyFan, yeah MyFans fans or subscribers. But I didn't do it in the end. I thought about it a few years ago when MyFans first came out but it seems to have just taken a completely, well, just like a one direction journey.

It might change. I mean things do change. I mean there was a time when sky satellite dishes were a joke.

People used to laugh at the idea of having a satellite dish on the side of their house. Like no way am I ever going to do that. It's ridiculous.

Well, people ain't laughing no more. They're paying a lot of money to have those satellite dishes on the sides of their houses. Although now things are changing even more because of the mobile, the mobile internet.

It won't be long and the satellite dishes will just be gone. It'll all be mobile, all satellite dishes, satellite mobile posts and stuff. I'm not really sure what I'm talking about here but, you know, I mean wherever the mobile signal comes from.

I know it comes from space, from satellite dishes, not dishes, satellites in space. But then they go to a, is it a mast? I don't know. Don't ask me.

How should I know what it is? Why do you keep asking me? I mean, so yeah I should apologize to Molly. Sorry Molly. That idea didn't work for me.

I can't believe the thing cut out. I've just, I've been making videos. Maybe I've used up all the space on the camera or on the phone.

I don't know. It's possible. Maybe that's what it was but I guess that's the only reason why I wouldn't save it.

The battery was full so this didn't run out. Yeah, really, really, I'm not sure what's going on. I'm not sure.

So what I'll do is I will go through and try and clear up the memory and see because, I mean, technically I don't, I kind of don't want to be bothered with making videos anyway but I think it's something that maybe I should do but I don't know if I will or if I want to. I don't know. I don't want to but I don't mind.

I'm coming around to the idea of doing them again because, you know, let's face it, I've pretty much, I haven't really put any attention into making videos like regularly day in day out for a decade really. You know, so which is weird isn't it really? For 10 years. Wow.

I could have been a, I don't know. I think it depends but things are really going upward for me on YouTube. Growing, really growing stuff.

It's weird because it was slow and it got a little bit steady and then it's like it's still slow but still gradually, gradually over the years more and more people were listening and commenting and subscribing and and then in 2011, 2011, I did a video that went, for me, viral. It wasn't viral but it was my first really, it just like grew successfully, grew like suddenly I was getting thousands of viewers out of nowhere and suddenly it was 10,000 then it was 20,000 or 30,000 like wow compared to the others that were maybe getting a few hundred views or maybe eight, you know, some maybe a few thousand but not like what I was getting suddenly and so and as that happened then I got started getting more subscribers.

So during 2012 it really grew like because that was 2011 in the summer I think I did that because I made a few recordings on the video camera with music, a couple with music in the background and uploaded that shared it on Facebook on every single group that I could and I got banned from a lot of groups upset but I shared it everywhere and seemed to do the trick and then yeah suddenly I was getting, I was making videos every day and I was getting people watching them and it really was growing I mean

I was getting, as it wasn't a huge amount but to me it was a lot so I think the last the last month I think I had 45,000 views in my last 30 days when I when I got rid of the channel but it was growing from I know 45,000 are not a lot to a lot of people like that's not much but to me it really was that's a hell of a lot for me because I'd gone from so I started it what 2008 I think or 2007 2008 something like that so 2008, 2009,

2010, 2011 so basically in its fifth year it really was growing and in 2013 it was still growing still going well and I think in 2014 is when I got rid of it I deleted it because I'm not quite sure what happened but I just had a bit of a brain fart as it were and deleted it but it was really growing I was getting you know hundreds of new subscribers every month again I know that's not a huge amount but to me it was it really you know when something starts to grow and it

just it's like wow I don't know if you've ever anyone listening to this has ever had a podcast or had a YouTube channel or has had a business or sold a book or anything when you know if it's going slowly and suddenly you notice like wow where's all the customers coming from suddenly we're popular compared to how we were before so I remember I had all over my walls the stats and I was keeping a track of how many down not downloads how many plays I was getting a day on my YouTube channel I also

had one for the SoundCloud podcast now I was still getting more I was getting more downloads of my podcasts than I was of my YouTube channel so yeah I think in at that time I had a hundred I think a hundred thousand downloads in that year and then the following year I think I had a couple of hundred thousand downloads in on another podcast and I got rid of that one so yeah I think that's pretty fair to say the podcasts have always been more successful than the YouTube channel but with the podcasts and I've

been going for I've never been without a podcast my whole time since 2007 I think pretty much maybe 2006 I can't remember exactly but yeah at least because there was a time when there was no podcasts really and there was a huge period when podcasting wasn't popular during that time I had I used SoundCloud which is predominantly used for music people musicians so I used to post my free hypnosis recordings on there and I had an audience and I had regular regularly people downloading listening to my stuff for years and years even though you know

podcasting wasn't it was almost forgotten really I mean 2000 and I don't know when it started to become popular again it's been fairly popular for about what five years I think I started to put more effort not effort I don't know but more focus and more energy into it in the last three years because instead of just having um like one podcast which I did with SoundCloud and I had actually I had a few podcasts spread around but they're always the same thing just Jason Newland's free hypnosis service and that was it or some other

some kind of similar titled kind of podcast and I just upload all my stuff then a few years back I did actually I did post a couple of courses like the 30 day relaxation plan I did that and uploaded that onto blimey Podomatic it's a uh I think it's still around it's a podcast platform and they had their own audience as well so Podomatic and I uploaded a sleep hypnosis cure course seven day cure cure insomnia whatever yeah and I did that uploaded those so two different podcasts and it was free so I did it

on the free one and I managed to fit them all on there onto the free one each and then I forgot about them completely forgot all about them and it's weird because a few years ago because this is back in 2011 and probably about five years ago I went online and saw them and I forgot all about them honestly because I was just searching through online just searching for my stuff just to see where where my stuff is where it's been listened where it's been copied um some people put my stuff on their websites some

people have copied my youtube videos you know stuff like that so I just thought just check out and these two podcasts came up on Podomatic and I went in there I couldn't believe that between them that uh between the two podcasts in that period I'd had I think 330 000 downloads between the two podcasts and I hadn't even looked at them I hadn't I'd just forgotten all about them I still had those recordings on my SoundCloud podcast but these were just on their own and I couldn't believe how blindly hundreds of thousands of people have

listened to this to these recordings that's all wow wow wow wow wow wow so that was nice I think I deleted them which was a bit weird I go through these little periods and I just left them leave it be if something's successful leave it be but no I deleted it then I re-uploaded them to the same place and they've had about 10 downloads I think yeah um in fact I can tell you let me just have a look oh let me have a look Podomatic Jason Newland Hypnosis Podcast let's see if there's anything on

there wow there is I've actually got wow it's crazy I got some episodes on that I don't know if they're still working or not 2018 some of the seven pod seven seven seven downloads for one podcast uh well one recording the top one's I think 97 downloads it's from 2018 man wow um relaxation plan relaxation plan let's see if it comes up right yep it's so weird because I had hundreds of thousands of downloads and now from the looks of this the top one is five downloads there you go hey now that's exciting three years

ago November 2018 so I think it's the same date that I uploaded I started doing the courses and the podcast on Spreaker three years ago or it's not three it's three years and put November December January February March three years and four months and one week or two weeks that's how long I've been doing the yeah that's what I uploaded started uploading to Spreaker because I had a Spreaker podcast before I've had a few different ones but this is the first time that I've just stuck with them and they you know you haven't got to

man I'm everywhere but nowhere I'm feeling fine I'm going now we don't you know it um my wee wee taste of wine I don't know the words are for that song do do do do do do oh dear I have to look at my phone figure out what's going on with it that's quite annoying that was not yawning just uh uh Spreaker you you really can start a podcast with just your laptop but if you want to make a professional impression from the get-go you'll likely want to take stock of the equipment you have on

hand and what you'll need to make your first episode sound amazing whatever you do don't break the bank right away if you're still learning the ropes you can always purchase more equipment down the road to celebrate once you reach the top charts the top charts yeah does anybody on Facebook see these videos and they're just pointless they're pointless videos they get millions and millions and millions of views I found this one is one hair rude woman on plane gets instant karma okay and that's the video that's what's coming up and I'm not going to play

it because I know in fact I'll turn the volume down I will play it I can guarantee you it's probably about 10 minutes long at least and you never and they just don't get to the point forever and it's so badly acted and it's just really and all the comments say is I can't believe I'm wasting my time watching this why are you posting this stuff it's the same thing over and over again but it gets this one has got 11.

4 thousand found it wow whatever that means 600 I mean thing is a lot of people think it's real so what I'll do I'll turn the volume down and I'll play it right it's 12 minutes long so it's it's not real I mean it might be real I'm just thinking it looks quite real so there's a woman moaning about and someone that's got a baby on a plane um hmm yeah it's it's just gonna be I think it's just another fakey fake rubbish one there's the there's one where this woman was I think proposing to

a man but it took 20 minutes and it was just went on and on and on and on like can we just get divorced already just what are you doing the video lasted longer than some of my relationships seriously what the hell and I don't see why they make the videos is and I went I thought I'd do a bit of research went online and it's a marketing company that makes them but what are they getting out of it what are they promoting what yeah they help people go viral but for what reason because I

can't see any advert in it I can't see any any point to it unless just having your name connected to the video makes people want to become a fan of you I don't know I'm not really sure but I went to the it's a company it's a promotion company marketing company and they make these videos and they're just pointless and they go on and on a bit like mine a bit like mine really but minor pointless for a reason and I don't promise anything apart from that you'll be bored and I think I think I

believe that I I give my best on that one I pass the test that's what I think I believe in my heart of hearts if my balls are balls I believe that I I fulfill my promise I deliver I deliver you can rule I deliver yes oh that's nice that's ever so nice and lovely I got my one of my bookcases out of the storage cupboard and I put it into the living room and started to put my books out again trying to organize them so I've got behind me I've got a bookcase and at

the top there's the clinical hypnosis books there's one two three four five six seven one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen and I say clinical like they're more textbooks than reading books if you know what I mean and there's one two three four five six seven eight nine ten so there's a few of those they're big old things although I do have another big one over there but that's more decided to put that in a different section and next to that I've got books um yeah books hypnosis with children

I got one two three four five six seven eight nine ten ten books on help doing hypnosis with children and then I got my hypnosis books for chronic pain so I've got that's not specifically for oh wait a minute that's weird that's not pain why is that in the pain section so there's one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve there's 12 books on hypnosis for pain there is a crossover I've got a couple of books for children in pain so there's kind of a crossover one there and I've got the

books that are written by Milton Erickson or about him there's one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve 13 14 15 16 17 18 books there so that's on my right that's behind me well behind me when I make a video and then on the other side of the room I've got my other bookcase where the that's fuller actually than the one behind me and now that I'm looking over there the other one is behind me I've broken up into sections so I've got books for self-hypnosis and there's one two three

that's actually I put my glasses on I'll be able to see when I keep forgetting one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen there's 13 books on self-hypnosis and then there's the books which are kind of to do with scripts even though when I do hypnosis or make a recording I don't read off a script but I've got books on scripts and you know so there's there's quite a few actually there's one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen eighteen books

there and yeah quite a few books on for specific issues so they're broken up into there's a big pile basically there's weight loss stopping drinking improving your golf sports hypnobirth I even got one for stopping lying yeah I think that's about it there's a few others so that's for kind of that's my little pile was quite a big pile of specific issues so there's one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen about 20 so that's cool and then I got my NLP books so that's books

45 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 52 yeah I think it's about 52 I think and then at the bottom the very bottom of the bookcase over there there's oh on the right on the left hand side there's my like self-improvement books I haven't got that many of those hence the lack of self-improvement okay here we go one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen I used to have loads loads and loads and loads I used to I did honest and then below that is a lot of books

you know fiction and stuff like that and that's I don't know how many is there it's like one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve twenty four thirty forty about 40 to 45 of those maybe 50 they're just stacked on top of each other at the bottom and that's my chair's been making some weird noises lately and yeah that's all of those books so I'm trying to get prepared got a lot of reading to do a little reading I've got two of the books I quite like I've got two books on

the brain about neuro stuff neuro stuff you know what I mean neuro stuff neuro-o-logy yeah you know about the brain about the brain man that stuff yeah neuro I mean I'm interested in neuroplasticity and I'm just I'm interested in the subject because it just always seemed obvious to me from a very early age that it's the brain it's inside our skull but no one looks at the brain when the brain controls everything when you know a person's personality can be transformed in a second by making the most minute change to the brain it's you know

it's it's the most important thing that we have is the brain without the brain nothing else works nothing else and it's just amazing that so many diagnoses is you know the brain's not looked at well here's your diagnosis wait a minute it's like oh yeah you've broken your wrist well no I'd like an x-ray if you don't mind let's just see you know let's just see the break make sure because you know obviously in the past before they had x-rays they'd sort of just think it's broken keep it in the splint try not to put

any weight on it or use it for a few weeks but now we have the technology we can look at the brains we can look put a little hat on you can see right in there yeah oh happily I mean I'd love to do that I'd love to be able to have my brain looked at you know in a professional setting and non-intrusive of course so we have a little a little let's have a little look okay that explains it fair enough I suppose my biggest my biggest worry was they'd look and they couldn't find

anything and that's that would be a big worry wouldn't it imagine getting told when you realize you've only got about 10% you don't want to say you only use 10% of your brain but that's because you've only got 10% of your brain now Jason apparently it's a lie also we don't use just 10% of our brain that's uh that's one of those myths that's been carried on by people that don't just don't know what they're talking about and I'm one of those people that carried it on and believed it most people I think do so

you only use a small percentage apparently not no not the case it's not the case and you use you only use seven percent no no we use more than that we use more than that that's what research shows it's not me saying it I know it sounds like me but it's not me saying it it's science baby science I love a bit of science wobbling over my face science let me motorboat that science love some science I'm quite interested in science actually I've been on YouTube lately and watching the science experiments there's something about it

that's just quite cool never interested when I was at school but now I look at him I think oh we could just change the entire world with that thing that you've just done on there you know I could change everything then I turn over and I watch something else so I'm gonna go I'm gonna I might I might yeah I have to get something to eat in a minute so thank you for listening remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy and the reason this is a 46 minute or 47 minute
