Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. So yeah, I'm videoing this for YouTube as well as the podcast.
So I've got two microphones in my face. Now, I suppose, you know, I could do it with just one microphone. Why don't you then? That is a good idea.
Actually, yes, that's a good question. And I might end up just doing it with one microphone. But at the moment, I've got one microphone for the video, one microphone for the podcast audio.
Two different recordings going on at the same time. Now, I realize the microphone is a little bit intrusive, perhaps. Yeah, maybe.
But I'm okay with it. I'm not that bothered. I mean, really, you know, especially with the hypnosis, sleep, relaxation, recordings I make, I do sort of, I kind of expect people to have their eyes closed anyway.
So it doesn't really matter what's going on upon the screen, upon the whatever you're watching it on, whether it's a phone or a television or a laptop, a Kindle. Can you watch TV? Can you watch videos on the phone, on the iPhone? I don't know. I don't have one.
Or the iPad or your tablet. You may have. So yeah, so I've already made a relaxation and sleep hypnosis daily today.
And it's in the process of being uploaded to YouTube. The video is, I've already uploaded the podcasts earlier. So that's cool.
And uploading the videos takes ages. So I think it was was it 30.1 gigabytes for the original video. I think it ended up being a little bit less because I cut a little bit out.
But 30 gigabytes is quite a substantial amount to upload. It takes a while. In fact, it takes a while to upload it from the phone to the iCloud.
So I need to be able to share it with the iCloud. So then I can get it on my iPad. So I can do the editing on my iPad.
And then I upload it to my photos, which I then upload to YouTube on their app, because the app uses photos to upload to. So that's kind of how I have to do it. So yeah, it's I mean, it's okay.
It's very, very time consuming. More, not so much the editing, but the actual time it takes to process and to process first of all, and then to upload. We're talking hours, takes hours to upload.
And with the audio, it's minutes at the most, you know, to upload 30 minute recording just on its own without any music or no extensions or nothing, nothing fancy. It's, you know, a minute, two minutes, five minutes at the most depending on how big the file is and how slow the internet's working. So yeah, another thing I noticed is if you listen to my podcasts, regularly, the Let Me Boyd Asleep ones, I mentioned that I got like a mobile internet mobile broadband with three, the number three.
And it's been quite good. I've had it for about three weeks now. Two weeks, two, three weeks, something like that.
And it's been good. It's I've been able to use it on the laptop, two iPads and a mobile phone. So I've been and the television.
So I've been able to use it for five different devices so far. Now I've got unlimited data and a separate SIM card, but it's pay as you go. I don't do contracts anymore at all.
I paid off all my debts. And I don't have any more contracts, don't have any more debts or contracts. And I'm not getting any more as pay as you go.
It costs more. But it means I can get rid of bloody enough noise can make enough noise. Could you put the rubbish out, make a little bit more noise.
People around here love making noise. Being quiet because the windows open. I don't want to get in trouble.
So what was I saying? Yeah. So I got no contracts or pay as you go costs more than the contract, but I don't want to be locked into a two year contract. So yeah, I'm not I've done that been there.
And I don't wish to visit again. So what I got going on is I got the SIM card for both the broadband and for my phone. So the phone is unlimited data, telephone calls, they you know, Texas all that crap.
So I've got that. And that's it's still cheaper than the other contract I had. The other SIM card I had, which was unlimited.
So it's a cheaper got cheaper deal there. I think I might have got the cheaper deal because I've got the other SIM card. So the other one is the broadband.
And I think that works out 27 pound a month. And for broadband, that I didn't know, it's all I got to do is give a month's notice and I can get rid of it. So I don't I'm not locked in anything.
I didn't know if it was going to be any good. So I thought I can't get it if it's no good after a month. I'll just bin it.
Get rid of it. But it's been okay. I mean, quite pleased with it.
Until today, when for the first time, I've actually really pushed the internet. Now I've not uploaded anything big for ages. I've uploaded lots of small things that I guess add up to big, but nothing big, like, you know, 30 gigabyte file, video file.
Now today I have, and while I was doing that, I couldn't really use the internet for anything else. Now, it's quite good for letting me allow to do allow me to do things. It did allow me to use Google and stuff like that.
But what I couldn't do is I couldn't watch television whilst uploading that huge file. Because too much data was being used at a normal time. And so the television was gone, which is a little bit of a shame.
However, I'm pleased I found out now, rather than later on. I guess. Yeah, there's no way around it.
Because I can't. Yeah, I can't. There's no way around it, basically, because I've got the phone, that's got its own internet.
But I'm using the iPad to do the editing. I can't, I could do the editing on the phone, but the screen's too small, man. I mean, the only other way is to try and transfer the file onto a disk and do it that way.
So that might be a way around. And then but still, however way, whichever way you look at it, unless I can connect the disk to the iPhone, and then use that data to upload it. Ah, that might be possible.
I don't know. Oops, I'm gonna look into that. But if there's no solution that I can think of, then I will need to keep the other broadband for the television.
And like as a backup. Because when the internet goes, that's it, I can't do any of the stuff that I need to do. Can't upload anything, can't download anything, can't share my podcasts.
And because I'm quite regular with the podcast, and I do try to do at least one recording a day, sometimes three or four. I can make the recordings, I don't need the internet for that. But if I can't upload them, and then that's not much good.
I need them for the editing, because I edit something, then I upload it again to the, so I store everything on the iCloud. Because then it can be shared. Once it's on the iCloud.
Eventually it takes takes a little while sometimes, but then it's available on all the other devices. So what I do is recently, I've been using up do I get it all edited and prepared, recorded on the iPad, edited on the iPad, upload it to the iCloud, or the various versions of the recording for the podcast, this is, and then I'll upload them with my mobile phone, the one with the data. So I use the data on there.
So and I'll do that while I'm doing something else. So instead of sitting there at the desk, because in the past, I've had like three, four different devices going at the same time uploading stuff. Now I just I do it maybe while I'm watching television or having a break, you know, just watching something or just upload.
It might take an hour to do it, but it's okay, because it's just really leisurely. Instead of just staring at the screens looking what's next to upload. Just makes it easier, a bit more relaxed, you know, the real work is recording it, editing it, uploading it, make sure it's on the iCloud available to be shared, it's got the right title, in the right format, the right size, blah, blah.
So yeah, and so I'm just gonna have to keep the other the other broadband, which is no biggie. That's not on a contract either. So I can get rid of that at any time.
If I can figure out easier ways to do this. Right, but the one thing I can't avoid is that I can't avoid the time it takes to upload. Because it's going to be I can't, I can't use sky to upload big files could just cuts off.
It's not stable enough. Three is stable. For some reason, it's very stable and it works fine.
The Yeah, so I'll use that for videos. But at the same time, I don't want to not be able to now I said television, I can watch normal television without the internet. But things like Netflix, YouTube, etc.
I want to, you know, I want to be able to watch that stuff. And I don't want to be having to wait for three hours to be out before I can watch it. So yeah, I haven't got anything particularly bad on my t shirt.
So I was eating some breakfast cereal early and I've got a tendency of spilling stuff on myself. It's one of those one of those little cute things I do. Cute.
Disgusting. Yeah, it's a bit disgusting. It's a bit disgusting.
Yes. So yeah, everything, everything. I'm kind of getting prepared now for the coming weekend because it's Sunday now.
But next Saturday and Sunday, I've got my the first weekend of my what's it called? Practitioner diploma in clinical hypnotherapy. I've got it written on the wall. Practitioner diploma in clinical hypnotherapy.
So that starts this coming weekend. And I'm looking forward to it. I just I am a little bit a little bit maybe nervous, a little bit anxious, maybe a bit, you know, traveling on the bus on the train driver, maybe having to get buses.
Will I get there in time? You know, I'll do it. I'm going to do it. I'm determined to do it.
Determined to do it, you know, rather than just not turn up. Determined to stick to it. And there's so much to gain.
There's nothing to lose. It's all gaining. It's all a gainful situation for everyone involved.
Not everyone. Well, yeah. I don't mean it.
It's beneficial to other people for me to turn up like on the course. But it's beneficial, hopefully for the people listening to my recordings, my podcasts, my videos, hypnosis stuff. Beneficial for them, because it's a weird noise as a dog.
Sometimes it's a dog, it's a neighbor's dog. It's far enough away for me to not get really angry. You know, it's not quite close enough to shut down.
But whenever I hear it, I always like take a second. What was that? And then it barks. Oh, it's a dog.
But it squeals. It sounds like something else. So I'm beginning to wonder if it's a human turning into a dog.
I don't know. So I like to think that once I start the course, the hypnosis course, I start learning new stuff, start relearning things I've learned before, but maybe forgotten or just lazily not not doing those things that would be more useful or advantageous towards my goal of helping others. So it's kind of a win win.
Thing. Or you reckon? I'm hoping. I hope it is.
Yes. Yeah, I do. I hope it is because I'd like things to improve.
We'd all like things to improve, wouldn't we? Yeah, probably. I mean, I have quite a few ideas for the future. One of the ideas which I may have mentioned is to do a podcast for children.
And one is for children just probably for chronic pain, children with chronic pain. I'd like to do a podcast for palliative care. So, you know, I'd like to do lots of different things like to introduce more things to my portfolio of free things that I offer, because everything's free.
It'll always be free. It's always been free. And that's what this is about.
It's about helping people, hopefully, for free. I know it's a strange concept. I've been doing it for a long time now, man.
A long, long time. Since 2006. I remember it well.
I don't. I can't remember 2000 2006. I had this little thing that I still got a little thing.
Now I had this thing that I used to do. I don't know why. But in 2006, I used to walk around in all white, like white tight tops and white trousers.
And I don't. And I didn't then have the body for it. It was almost like that was the transition between I think 2004 I was slim.
I started this new job in the call center in 2004. August, I think it was maybe September. And I was slim.
I was I was four stone lighter than I am now. And yeah, I was fit, physically fit. And I was slim.
I think to a year and a half later, let's say year and a half later. I wasn't fat yet. I wasn't.
I was chunky. I was overweight. Probably.
Yes. But not quite. It's almost like after you look at me and think, I'm not sure.
What do you mean you're not sure? I'm looking looking. I'm not sure. I can't really make out.
Make out what? What are we talking about? What do you mean make out? Well, I can't make out whether he's fat. He's he's got a belly, but I don't know if it's a fat belly or it's just a thick belly. I don't know if he's just thickly set.
He's big built or he's just a fat man. I was kind of just I guess I was just on the border of exploded, of becoming a blob, which I am now. So I thought I could get away with wearing tight clothes.
And why tight? Why? I'm talking like this. This shirt, this T-shirt is loose. It's loose.
They're not so loose down there where my belly is. But, you know, it's it's it's a very large T-shirt. I like looseness.
I like I don't like feeling tight. You know, I don't like tight things. Well, you know, I mean, I don't.
There's a degree of restriction that I'm there's a degree of restriction that I'm not a big fan of. Although, although back in 1999, I think it was when I was probably at my absolute fittest, I was at the peak of my fitness, not physical fitness as in, you know, cardiovascular, Lily Lee fitness, but muscly, slim. I probably had the best body I had.
I'm still too skinny, but because I managed to get some muscles going, and you know, I was, we're talking back then, I would have been about five and a half stone lighter than I am now. So I was very light, very, very light back then. But I didn't have any fat on me.
And I had a good, good stomach been doing sit ups and stuff. My chest was muscly, my shoulders, my arms, everything. I'm not showing off here.
This is some this is the past. Showing off is when you show off about how you are now. Look at me.
I'm a big blob. And I mean, admittedly, I'm more muscular now than I was back then. It's just the muscles are bigger, but they're not as defined as what they were.
You know, we're not probably a lot stronger now. A lot bigger, a lot stronger, got bigger muscles and stuff. Yeah, you said bigger muscles, but I don't mean bigger.
I had to explain like, my arms are probably bigger than my legs were back then. If you know what I mean is, but I don't know. It's hard to explain.
It's just you get bigger. I think we just get bigger as we get older, maybe. But I know that I could never.
Well, I don't think I could get my weight down to what it was back in 2004. For me to lose four stone where I mean, I could lose I've probably if I lost half a stone, I could have a flat stomach. Maybe a stone I don't know.
I can't imagine my belly takes up that much. But okay, if I got rid of nine stone, I could have a flat stomach. Now I reckon half a stone, but maybe stone at the most.
I could lose a stone and have very little fat on me now. So that'd be you know, to lose a stone. I don't know.
I've been this way for a long time now. Many, many years. I've been a kind of once I exploded and all the fat just walking around like a big blob.
Crawling around on the floor. Once once because I used to have muscles in my stomach. But I think it's almost like I've been pregnant.
And the belly it just I don't know if the muscles even have the capacity to go back to what they were. Because I am pretty much I've been walking around eight months pregnant, maybe seven and a half. Not literally pregnant.
But you know, with a big fat pregnant belly. I've had that for years now. So although there's some muscles under there somewhere.
I don't know if they would be able to go slim. I don't think if that is even a possibility. I mean, I would never have liposuction just because I could lose the weight if I wanted to.
There's certain things I can do to reduce my weight. One is to stop drinking Coke. Stop eating chocolate every three minutes.
Chocolate bars. So I have don't eat 14 chocolate bars a day. Don't wake up in the middle of the night and have a fried breakfast.
Or I like to call it a snack. And no, I don't do that. I'd love to.
That's the thing. The things that I really love. I love eating crap, absolute rubbish food, like fried breakfasts, a big fried breakfast.
Love it. I don't do it. I don't do it very often because I know that it's just too dangerous.
I just can't be doing stuff like that. If I stop drinking Coke, although I have reduced my Coke intake. What else? Chocolate.
Yeah, I do eat chocolate. But I don't drink it. I don't drink what else do I do? Sugar.
Do do do do do. Sugar is something that I do have quite a lot of because of the Coke. I have sugar on my breakfast cereal.
I have sugar in my tea and my coffee. However, I don't have a huge amount of sugar in my tea and my coffee. Just a teaspoonful.
That's about it. I don't have or tablespoon. Anyway, I don't have a lot of sugar.
Not it's not like four or five sugars like some people have. I remember. Oh, I remember this.
I remember someone saying to my Nan, because she used to have a lot of sugar in her tea. She'd have a cup of tea. And it was the other thing.
Well, you like some tea with your sugar then do you Eileen? I'm the first one ever said that, you know. And I remember someone says, Oh, you're drinking a lot. It's a lot of sugar you got in your tea.
And then I remember my Nan said once, I'm 95. What's it going to do to me? What's the sugar going to do to me? How's it going to affect me? I know she said that, but she said that in that kind of context, that kind of like, I'm 94 years old. You know, you come back when you get to 94.
And then we'll talk about sugar, shall we? She didn't say that either. But she had a point. All right, well, if you get to be 90, and you decide to have six sugars in your tea, or you decide to have, you know, a couple of glasses of whiskey before you go to sleep at night, that's your choice.
You do whatever the hell you want to do at 90. If someone at 90 decides they want to start smoking or hang gliding, which to me is equally as dangerous. Do what the hell you want to do when you get to 90.
You've defied all the odds. You're basically you're one of a minority, a huge, huge minor, a tiny minority rather. Yeah, that makes sense.
A huge minority. You're part of a tiny minority of people that have reached such an amazing milestone. Do whatever you want.
Really, I think people that reach 90 should just be given the keys to the city. They should be given the keys to everything. Every bar, just go cinema, just go and watch a movie anytime you want.
Here's the keys. Seriously, why not? When I fall in love, it will be for about a minute. So yeah, I'm quite looking forward to the weekend.
There's always that thing though, you know, when you start a new course, new training course, I've done lots of different trainings over the years. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots. You know, whether it's hypnosis, whether it's counseling, whether it's NLP, whether it's massage, reflexology.
Okay, maybe not that many then. That was quite a few. I've been in quite a few courses.
It's that first day, isn't it? The first you sit in there, you go in and like, oh, there's all these people that I don't know. I don't know them. I'm not sure.
You know, I really kind of, oh, I don't know what to make of people. And whether or not, there's no way of knowing is that I mean, I can't say I enjoy meeting new people. I'm not one of those people that like, likes to say very proudly.
I like people. I love people. You know, I'm not quite on that level.
I don't know. Someone said to me, if it was a therapist or counselor, I'll see you hate people. And I don't hate people.
Well, there's a difference between not particularly liking people and disliking people. I don't particularly enjoy the social interaction that comes with meeting new people. Doesn't mean I dislike all people.
You know, I mean, it's just a bit of a jump, isn't it? It's just, yes, not really my thing. Parties, for example, not really, not really someone that's enjoyed parties. Never have probably never will.
Just that whole social gathering. It's all right. I've been to a few that I liked, but generally, yeah, I don't get invited to many things, really.
I got invited to one kind of gathering. This is with a Buddhist friends and went around and was all around the table and eating or something. And one of the ladies said out loud, I got some news.
I said, are you pregnant? And she said, yeah. And I just, it's just blurred out my head. She didn't look pregnant.
She was like, just found out and she was still slim and everything. I'm not saying that pregnant women are fat. I'm just saying she didn't look.
I can't do anything right. Can I try to do my best? I'm just saying she, she, she wasn't showing. Is it okay to say that? Is it, is it, is it? I don't care.
I don't care. But, you know, she didn't look like she was showing. It didn't look like there was a lot going on up there.
No, no, that's wrong. It didn't look like in the baby was very big. That's what I'm trying to say.
And I think I spoilt it for her. I think I spoilt the moment. I didn't mean to.
It just blurted out. It just the first thing I thought, are you pregnant? Yeah. She didn't cry.
She didn't say that. She was, she was fine with it. I think, I'm not sure.
So that went a bit weird. Um, yeah, I think that's the last time anyone invited me out. I remember, yeah, I was working with some people.
Yeah. It was this, this bloke, he's in London and this bloke that said he lived in this place or he was going to a party and he invited a group of us to go to this party. And all my friends, my friends that I worked with, said, we'll meet you there Saturday afternoon.
I get there, I'm the first one there out of my friends. So I'm in this, and it's like a, um, I think it was student accommodation. Didn't realize at the time, but it was because the person that we were talking to was a psychology student at East London University.
So I get there and I'm sitting on my own for about three hours and then I leave. And for some reason, all my friends found it hilarious that I went there on my own and they didn't come because they had no intention of coming. Or did I get the address wrong? I can't remember.
It's a long time ago. It's about 2002, 2003, maybe 2004. I'm probably thinking 2003.
Hmm. I would say about that time. And yeah, that was a bit rubbish, but that kept people get kind of to me saying, are you all right? I said, yeah, thanks.
Who are you? I said, I don't know anymore. I'm not sure. What do you want? I said, well, again, I'm not sure.
I thought it was a party here. Well, there is a party. Can't you see? I said, I know, but it's not really a party if I don't know anyone, is it? I said, well, why don't you go then? I said, well, I'm waiting for my friends.
They said they'd be here soon. Actually, I didn't say they'd be here soon because there was no mobile phones. Can you believe there was a time? There was a time when you could be at a party that you turned up, sat down, and literally did not know what was happening.
Didn't know if your friends were going to turn up or not until they either turned up or they didn't turn up. Now, a simple phone call or text would have sorted out that situation. I could have left, gone home and watched Baywatch and not wasted my time sitting in someone else's house, probably making everyone else feel uncomfortable.
I mean, I don't think the singing helped. You know, I took my own karaoke machine with me. I used to do that a lot.
Everywhere I went, I've ruined some funerals, I tell you. So I don't know, next weekend, meeting new people. I don't know.
I don't know, man. I just I don't know. What to do? What to do? How am I going to deal with that? Because it's weird, because, you know, on some levels, you know, I've been involved in hypnosis for 20, 24 years, 24 years, I've been involved in hypnosis, started learning hypnosis, 24 years ago, for the first time.
So I'm not really a beginner, am I, I guess. I've been making hypnosis recordings and videos for 16 years. So or 17 years, I don't know, one of them 16 or 17 years.
I've made 1000s of recordings. So I guess, I don't know where that puts me in the category of knowledge. You know, when it comes to hypnosis.
I've read many, many, many, many, many, many, many books on hypnosis over the years. I don't know. I'm not sure.
I got an open mind to learning new things. Because I haven't done any hypnosis training for years. So I'm very open to doing something, learning some new stuff and, you know, improving my skills, whatever.
If I have any skills, I don't know, but improving upon what I already do. And progressing in some way. Yeah.
Yeah. It's just sometimes when I go to, in these kind of situations, I go and introduce myself and I want to introduce myself as a hypnotist. When I'm on a hypnosis course, I don't want to kind of present myself as being already able to do it.
When some of the people I guess on the course, this will be their first time learning about hypnosis. So I'd rather just, I guess I just have to take a back seat and just put on my novice hat. Which sounds to be fair, it's probably the best thing to do anyway, because I want to keep my mind as open as possible.
So that I can learn as much as possible. That's a bit whistly, wasn't it? As much as possible. So yeah.
Only five more days left. Ooh, five days. Wow.
Wow. Five days. Five days.
Excuse me. Blimey. Yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn.
So yeah, I'm just going to see. Yeah, it'll be all right. I'm not going to take any textbooks with me though, because they're heavy, man.
They're really heavy. I'll leave them at home. But unless, oh, no, I won't take anything with me this weekend, the first weekend, other than a pad and paper.
Pad and paper, a pen and paper, a pad and some paper, or a pen and some ink. Because I guess taking notes is good, but I don't think I'm going to need to take a textbook. So I've got some books.
I've got all the books on the reading list purchased. And I had some already, already had them. There's, there's a few I needed to get.
Now, I don't know which one of those will be relevant for the first weekend. So I'll leave them here. And if they say, bring one back.
They say Saturday, they say bring, bring in the scripts book or the working with children book on, you know, tomorrow. And it's the Sunday and I'll just, I'll just do that. I'll take it in.
But if they don't, then I won't. Weird. Screen saver.
Just looking at a screen saver on my telly. So much clouds really do look like me. Oh, it's a mirror.
That's not a mirror. Make some strange face. I should focus on what I'm doing.
So yeah, that's about it really. I've got the week ahead. I haven't actually got anything planned.
As far as appointments go. No, no, nothing particularly. No, I've got nothing that I need to book.
As far as appointments go. I was gonna say how good my lower back was feeling, but it's been aching a little bit this evening. It's weird.
It's been really good the last few days. The last week or so been doing exercises, going for walks. I went for a long walk earlier.
I went for another walk just before I started this recording. Well, about an hour, two hours ago. And now it's feeling a little bit tight a little bit.
Now, I don't know. But I mean, the temperature's changed. The temperature's dropped a little bit.
And because it's quite a damp country that I'm living in, whether that dampness outside, it's not damp inside here, but the dampness can affect the arthritis in my lower back. I don't know, but it's a bit achy wakey, if you know what I mean. A bit.
I feel like I just need a good stretch. Excuse you. Yeah, I don't really know what else to say.
It's a, it's really, I'd like to do a bit more reading over the coming week. But also, maybe it's time for me to go to bed. And there's a fair bit of work I need to do on my website as well.
I'm a little bit behind on my website as far as updating it. And I might need to look at making some changes. Because somebody contacted me, sent a message asking me how much the recordings were to download.
Which I was a little bit confused because they're free. There's no charge, it's a free service. But does the website look like it's, there's a charge? And if there is, you know, I need to look into that.
Like, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe I've got to make changes.
So I will look at the website, see if there's anything I can do to improve it. Without my eyes watering. See if I have to make some changes or without without needing to spend a long period of time doing it.
Because those days are gone. I can't, I can't just devote weeks to the website. I do nothing but just work on the website for weeks and weeks.
I've done that enough times over the years. I don't, I can't do that anymore. I don't want to do that anymore.
I want to just update the website and then leave it alone. And I don't get huge numbers visiting the website. But it's there.
And it's, you know, all this, but it's there. Yeah, it's there. But it's actually quite a good website.
As far as I'm banging the microphone now, not banging my, you know, you know, I mean, when I say that, I bashed it with my hand. Okay, that's not another good example, is it? Good description. I banged, I moved my hand, which touched the cable of the microphone, causing the microphone to shake slightly, which may have caused some kind of a distortion of the sound.
That's what I meant when I said I banged the microphone. Wow. Oh, it's got into me.
Maybe it's because I'm doing, I should have done this recording a bit earlier in the day rather than in the evening. Because you know, it's late now. It's about it's about 10 to 10 in the evening.
10 to 10, Peaky Blinders is nearly over now. About 13 minutes left of Peaky Blinders on BBC One. Oh, I've missed it.
I've missed it. Whatever shall I do? Do you remember those days? The old days, when if you missed something on telly, that was it. And then they invented video recorders.
Never miss a television programme again. Although it is illegal to record off the television. But we're going to show you something that you can record off the television with.
But you can't record off the television because that's illegal. Very, very weird. We're going to show you recorders that have two video recorders so that you could record one video record tape onto another one.
Although it's illegal to record one tape onto another one. You cannot record and copy video movies. But we're going to show you a video recorder where has gives you that facility to do such a thing.
But it's illegal so don't do it. It's like audio recorders. Remember you'd have an audio, the stereo system with two tape recorders, or tape players.
So you could record one tape after another. So you could borrow someone's tape or go to the library and just copy it onto like a normal blank tape. Just to give you that facility.
But it's illegal. You're not allowed to do it. No shame on you.
But now it's just so easy now. I think technology has made, in some ways, made things so much easier. In other ways, made things so much more complicated.
I've not yet decided which one it is. Which one wins the ease or the complication? Which one wins out of the two when it comes to technology? I don't know. I think we need to rethink that.
If technology had been allowed to advance the way that it could have done, you know, hundreds of years ago, instead of being stunted by superstition and such things. The world may be a very, very different place. There, there, very different.
Yes, I think so many apps are amazing. Like the banking apps. But then, you know, the banks almost push people to use the apps.
Use the app, use the app. Don't come into the bank, use the app. And then, oh yeah, we're gonna have to, we're gonna have to close the banks because there's no customers coming into the banks anymore.
So we're going to close the banks. Yeah, but that's because you, you caused this with the technology. You caused this by putting, making apps so that people didn't have to come into the bank.
I'm kind of, I feel lucky that I'm just young enough, not just young, I mean, there's people older than me that get on well with technology, but you know, I was, I find myself fortunate that I was able to embrace technology rather than push it away. Because I didn't like computers when I was a kid. Hated computers, had no interest.
I didn't have my first computer till I was late 20s. And I'll be honest, if it wasn't for the internet, I would never have even looked at computers. Computer screen, because what's the point? It was only because the internet that made it interesting to me.
How to use a computer itself and word processing facilities and all that stuff didn't interest me. What interested me is the internet, being able to, well, just everything. I just found the internet fascinating right from the start.
In and out of the internet, all that technology came, you know, obviously mobile phones and smartphones and apps and all this kind of stuff, internet, television, streaming. So I'm kind of glad because I'm glad I embraced it. Because now as people are kind of being forced to have to use this stuff, it's got to be very difficult for people that are not, or I know someone that's not really into this stuff.
And it's hard. It's hard for some people to to cope with it sometimes. We've, you know, always, always needed an email address.
When not everybody has an email address, not everybody can remember their email address password. But you need an email address for like so much stuff these days. When, you know, 10 years ago, maybe longer, I don't know, but a telephone number, an address, a normal address was needed.
That was enough. Now you, you know, I mean, not even with the apps nowadays, you even need to have a face. To be able to log in.
It's bad enough, isn't it? How to remember words, in the old days, having to carry keys around. Now you got to take your face everywhere you go. Anyway, on that note, I'm going to go.
So thank you for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy. Okay? Be gentle with yourself.
Do something nice for yourself today. Something doesn't matter. Doesn't have to be expensive.
Doesn't have to cost anything. Just something nice. Something that you enjoy doing.
Treat yourself. Lots of love. Bye.
