Hello, hello. Hi, how are you? It's really brilliant to see you again. How's the kids? How's the family? I'm ever so pleased.
I'm glad everyone's happy. Yeah. Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland.
This is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. So, hey.
How's it going, man? How's it going? Is it alright? Is it okay? Weird day. It's been a weird... I don't know. I think the last time I made a Let Me Bore You To Sleep was... I don't know when it was.
When was it? Two days ago, I think. I think. I think.
Two thousand and... The 27th of September. No, that's not right, is it? Blimey. What am I doing? Let Me Bore You To Sleep.
Oh, okay. It was the 24th. So it's Friday.
So I didn't do one Saturday, Sunday, and I'm doing one now. It's 11.31 in the evening on the 27th of September. Monday.
Two thousand and twenty-one. Yeah. What was that? I found a screw on the floor the other day.
Saturday night. I found a screw. Like a bent screw.
I don't know where it's from. I don't know if it's either from... You know what? It might be from... It might be from one of the... Excuse me. It might be from one of the desks or from the chair.
If it's from one of the desks, I'm not that bothered. Because the desks have got a lot of screws in them and they're not really being... Nothing's being done with them. They haven't got any heavy load being dropped on them.
That sounds weird. There's nothing heavy on them. That's what I mean.
They're not carrying a heavy load. It still sounds weird. But the chair... Hmm.
I mean, it's carrying me, isn't it? And I'm not light. So, hopefully the chair ain't going to collapse. Because I wouldn't like that.
I really wouldn't. No, no, no, no. Not one bit.
So, yeah. What am I doing? It's been... Yesterday, I didn't make any recordings. Partly... Partly.
Because stats... Stats alert. Stats alert. Because partly, I wanted to see... What... How many downloads I'd get if I didn't actually make any new recordings.
And... The answer to that is 13,000. As opposed to... Like 20 plus thousand. So, you know.
That's alright. Yeah. Did I make any recordings Saturday? I don't remember.
Honestly, I do not remember. I don't know. I might have done.
I might have made a couple Saturday. And there's something I've been trying to do for a long time. I've been trying to find a way to make an even longer recording.
You know, like 8 hours or 10 hours or something like that. And I've attempted it a few times and always failed... In making one that the podcast would allow to upload. It just wouldn't... It was too long or it was... Just too big.
Too large a file. Well, today... I discovered a way to make a 10 hour long recording. Because I've been asked in the past... Could I do one that would last all night long? Or, you know, for the length of a sleep session.
And I found a way to do it. So... From now on, I will be making an extra long recording. A 10 hour one as well.
As the others I was doing. And I realised... I think to myself... Why am I doing that? And then I remember... Why am I doing anything? Why am I making so many different recordings? Regularly. It's because of choice.
I think it's really, really good to have choice. Not to be sort of stuck to listening to the same recording every day. Unless, of course, you want to.
Then great. I mean, if you find a recording that really hits the spot. And does... You know, every time you listen... You get the same beneficial reaction.
And benefits. Then, yeah. The beneficial benefits.
Then, of course, I guess it makes sense to listen to the same one every day. But... I guess I like the idea... Where I'm coming from is... When I first started doing this... I knew from experience that... You know, I used to buy CDs, tapes and stuff. And you get like one recording.
And even the really famous people... You know, Paul McKenna, for example. He'd make one recording for sleep. One for chronic pain.
One for self-esteem. And that would be it. And regardless of how great those recordings were... And hugely popular... That would just be one.
And I realised if he did... If he did what I did do... Did do... I guess that would devalue the one recording. You know, if you write one best-selling book... But if you write... You know, a book a month... Then I guess the... The one book would seem less important, maybe. I don't know.
There's also the thing about, you know... Different people need different things. Different people respond to different ideas. The only way to really... Tackle that problem... Is to make lots of different types of recordings.
And podcasts and videos, etc. Which means I can hopefully reach... More people and help more people. That was the idea behind... Why I make so many recordings.
Because, to be fair... I don't imagine as many people in the whole world... Do as many recordings as I do. There possibly isn't anyone. There are people that release one recording a day.
But some days I do five or six recordings a day. And then I do ones with different music. And different lengths of music.
So, yeah, I don't think there's anyone... Probably in the whole wide world... Who produces as many different recordings as I do. I'm not saying that as like... Oh, aren't I great? Let's face it, I am pretty great. I'm joking.
It's really just trying to... I know you can't be all things to all people. But I'm giving it a go. You know? I am giving it a go.
Just, some people like the... Let Me Bore You To Sleep podcast. And I get probably more feedback from this podcast... Than any of the other stuff. Although, the other stuff is more popular.
Like the Deep Sleep Whisper recordings. Are more popular than the... Let Me Bore You To Sleep. What other ones... Do... I don't know.
Probably the Relaxing Sleep Hypnosis Daily. Probably more popular as well. I'm trying to think, what other recordings do I do? I don't know.
I lose track. But the most popular podcast I've got... I've mentioned this before. But this is where all of my stuff is on.
All of my recordings. Pretty much... Anything to do with relaxation. Anxiety, stress.
Goes onto this podcast. And it's the Relaxation Hypnosis For Stress And Anxiety. The full title is... Relaxation Hypnosis For Stress And Anxiety.
For Stress, Anxiety And Panic Attacks. But the title... It would not allow me to put that all in. In the title.
So, I just had to change it to... Relaxation Hypnosis For Stress And Anxiety. Blimey, I've had nine and a half thousand downloads today. Just on that podcast.
But it's 1,149,000 downloads. For that podcast. So that's the most popular one I've got.
But then... Loads of stuff's on there. You know. Loads of stuff, man.
Loads and loads of stuff. Which is good. Why yesterday? All my troubles seem so far away.
So today, I'm just going to have a look. What's the most popular podcast today? Most popular one today has been... Number 38, Stress And Pain Relief. Somatic Trekking Exercise.
And that was released on the 24th of September. Ten hours. So I released that today, actually.
The ten hour one. Second most popular. Number 735, Let Me Fall Into Sleep.
Full English Breakfast And Beer. Ten hours long. Again, that's the most popular.
The weird thing about it is... These are the most popular ones. The ten hour long ones. Before, it was the five hour long ones.
What's strange, though, is you think about it. The more people listen to the ten hour recordings, the lower the stats are going to be. Like, logically, isn't it? Because people are just going to listen to one recording that lasts ten hours.
Instead of listening to it during the day. They're not going to listen to more than one during the day, are they? But they might listen to... on repeat for some of the other stuff, maybe. That lasts 20 minutes each, or an hour.
So I suppose doing a really long recording, I could end up almost shooting myself in the knee. But I've had 21,244 downloads today, so far. But I have uploaded a lot of recordings.
I really have. But recordings that, as I said, last ten hours long. So I had... What did I do? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... 6, 7, 8, 9... Yeah, I did... I probably uploaded about 20.
10, 15 or something new recordings. But they're just... old recordings. But I added a ten-hour one onto them.
So all of the boring objects has been added. I added ten hours onto each one. Because there's ten recordings.
So I did upload them and I shared them. But... I don't normally do that. I normally only... upload to the podcast new recordings.
But I guess I wanted to test it. To see how easy it was to upload such a long recording. How long it took.
It does take a while. And... Yeah, just, I mean... What I think I'm going to do... is... make some extra podcasts that are completely separate. And have them as... ten-hour long.
Podcasts. So, you know, maybe do all of the... Deep Sleep Whisper recordings. But just ten hours long.
So I have all of the old recordings with ten hours music. But on a separate podcast. Not on the actual Deep Sleep Whisper podcast.
Because there's, you know, four hundred and... four hundred and sixteen... Deep Sleep Whisper recordings. It's quite a lot. That's a lot.
A lot of work. So I'm probably going to do that. Maybe do the same with the Let Me Boy To Sleeps.
And then... If people want to... sort of listen to older stuff. You know, previous recordings from years ago. But... kind of overnight.
Or listen to them with... long mute. Blah, blah, blah. I'm boring myself now.
But, you know, with the ten-hour music in the background. Then maybe I have that as a separate thing. So people can sort of choose.
And for me that's what it is. It's about choice. I like that.
Because I like to have choice. I like to... stream in. Now that we have, you know, Netflix.
Don't like Amazon. I like some of the Amazon programs. Even some of the films.
But Amazon... is... Yeah, I'm not a fan. Let me tell you why. For those that haven't used Amazon Prime.
It's great for free delivery. If you're purchasing. Purchasing.
You know, a lot of stuff. Then if you use Prime. It'd be, you know, cheaper.
Well, you save yourself money on postage. However, you can sometimes. Often get stuff a lot cheaper than Prime.
If you buy it from a third seller. A third-party seller. However.
One thing that Amazon is really good at. Is if you purchase through them. And you're a Prime member.
And you purchase through Amazon Prime. You buy directly from them. And.
The customer service is really good. You know, if something's faulty. They'll come and collect it and change it.
They didn't question it. You just phone them up and say. I like it and I'll come and get it.
I don't know if that's true, but. They are really good with their customer service. But, you know, sometimes you pay a little extra for that.
So I do. If I can, I'll buy from Prime. If I'm a member.
Now, at the moment, I'm not a member. And I looked into buying. And to become a member again.
I think it's $7.99 a month. The amount of stuff they still try and sell you. Like Netflix.
You sign up for Netflix. Everything on Netflix is part of the package. You don't.
They don't try and get any more money out of you. The only way Netflix try and get more money out of you is. By offering you high definition.
And also the package where you can share your. Share your Netflix with. Three or four other people.
And you pay 16 quid a month or something. Or 13 pound. Instead of the $5.99 that I pay.
I just pay the very basic. And that's it. But it's an option.
They don't try and push it on you. It's just there. Don't even mention it really.
Everything on Netflix is there. It's part of the package. And that's why I was always used to.
Because Netflix was the first one. That I ever used to stream. Now Amazon.
Damn Amazon. You go on there and. You know before you get to see the amount of stuff.
That they're trying to. Get you to rent. Or to purchase.
Films and TV shows and. Or they'll have. What was it? Fear the Walking Dead.
The first four or five. Seasons are free. But then the fifth season.
You got to pay. To me that's just wrong. You know.
Pardon me. They're the richest. Business in the world.
Why would. Why do they have to do that? But then. It's because they do that.
They're the richest business in the world. Because they make money. Every.
Single opportunity. Every. Opportunity of.
Getting some cash. They do it. Which is why they're so rich.
So. But I don't like it. I don't like.
I just. Something seems wrong. You know.
It's like going into a. I guess going to like. All you can eat buffet. But then getting charged for.
Getting charged for cheese. I don't know why cheese came up. You know going to a Chinese.
Everything you can eat. But they say. I don't know.
You can. You can rent. Rent the chopsticks.
Who would eat chopsticks. Who would use chopsticks. So pretentious isn't it.
You don't eat chopsticks. Don't eat. You don't need chopsticks.
Knife and fork or spoon. Unless. Using chopsticks is what you do.
I would never. Never. Ever.
Even if you. Paid for the meal. Would I ever.
Eat. With chopsticks. I say that with a very.
Very firm knowledge. In my. With a memory of trying to use.
Chopsticks. And how awkward it was. And how unenjoyable.
That meal was. It's no fun. I learnt how to eat.
I don't know what. Two years old. One years old whatever.
Using a knife and fork and a spoon. I learnt how to feed myself. I do still spill.
Of course I still spill stuff all over me. But that's a different thing. In public.
Using chopsticks. For me. Would be like.
I need a bib. I would need a bib. And.
I mean I haven't done. A survey. But from experience.
I can tell you that. Not every woman enjoys. Eating out with a man.
In a restaurant he's wearing a bib. Not every woman loves that. Don't know about men.
Some men might absolutely adore it. Some women may think. It's the greatest thing.
On planet. Like oh I love it. What do you like most about your.
Your boyfriend. The way he wears a bib. You know what's next.
You sit in a high chair. Special high chair with a little rattle. Oh man.
More. More. Make a little.
Open your mouth wide. Jason. Chopsticks.
What a silly way to eat. I only had that. Because I didn't know about spoons.
Did they. I didn't know. Think about it.
If you go to like old China. Go back in history. They use wood for everything.
Didn't they. They used wood for everything. Very much a lot of bamboo.
The huts. The buildings. Even the partitions.
No doors. The partitions between the rooms are kind of almost. Like.
Wood or rice paper. Which is. Rice paper is wood isn't it really.
I suppose it is. Mashed up wood or whatever. Comes from paper.
It was wood. Yeah. Thank you.
Trying to get back to that. Yeah it was wood. They even feed their animals wood.
They do bamboo. The big old bears eat the bamboo. They don't like bamboo.
They want coconuts. They want beef. They don't want bamboo.
I remember speaking to one once. This. Big panda bear.
I said you alright. He said no I'm not alright. I said why.
He said look at the crap they give us to eat. Would you eat wood. No one wants to eat wood.
It's good to get food out of your mouth. Between your teeth and stuff. A toothpick.
But you know you don't want a toothpick. To get rid of the toothpick do you. I've got toothpick in my teeth.
Because that's what they feed me is wood. I thought well I don't know me. Don't moan at me.
Why don't you say something to the zookeepers. You know he said to me. He said they just don't listen.
They don't listen. They think I'm joking. They think just because we've been eating bamboo all these years that we like it.
No. Why do you think we hardly ever give birth. Bamboo.
It's the opposite to an aphrodisiac. You eat bamboo. You go on a first date and you eat bamboo.
You eat wood. Go to a restaurant and eat wood. Yeah.
Trust me. When you get home. The last thing you're going to be seeing is wood.
There will be no. It takes away everything. You're not interested after.
It's just you know. It's like having a beer curry. And just drinking a gallon of cranberry juice.
No not cranberry juice. Prune juice. That's it.
Would have worked better with that. I think I said cranberry juice. Prune juice.
A beer curry. And a gallon of prune juice. Then said oh my darling should we go to bed now.
No. You're going to sit on the toilet. That's where you're going to end up for the rest of the night.
Leave me alone. And take that bib off. Yeah.
So yeah things have been OK. Just. Been trying to update.
The. What have I done. Yeah I've updated.
It was yesterday. I did actually spend all day working yesterday. I just didn't.
Make any recordings. So I did a lot of images. Change the images.
All that stuff. On the website. And on a podcast.
Also. Today I've been. I started this yesterday as well.
Filling in the. Descriptions. Of the podcasts.
Now I've got a generic. Thing that I put into each podcast. Until I can add.
The transcription. But in this generic. Bit of.
Text. It has the copyright. Information for the music.
It's not copyright. It's. Open source or.
Free to use whatever. But I do have to put that into the recordings. So sometimes I'm a few days behind.
I try and keep up to date with that. So. I've been doing that.
I spent hours and hours and hours. Doing that today. It's very very.
Very very boring. Very very very. Very boring.
But you know. It's got to be done. And now.
The end is here. At the end of the day. It's the end of the day.
It's the end of the day. I did get a message from. Read this out.
On my phone. My phone. Why me.
Why the message. On my phone. And.
Okay. Francie. Francie.
Sent me a message the other day. Saying. Thank you Jason.
For helping me fall asleep every night. Like you. I suffer with chronic pain.
That steals my attention. And affects my quality of life. One of the coping strategies I use.
Is called somatic tracking. Would you consider doing a recording. Using this approach.
To pain management. Thanks. And.
I did it. I did one. And I sent in a link.
Sent me a message today. Saying hi Jason. I listened to it last night.
Very helpful podcast. Love how you likened it. To watching a movie at the cinema.
Good analogy. For creating distance. And watching with curiosity.
Without judgement. I was waiting to hear. If you talk about it moving.
And was impressed when you did. I find it useful to look up. Anatomy of the body part.
In advance. As well. So it's easier to visualise.
I find it useful. To look up. And.
Then I add colours and graphics. In my mind. Like fireworks.
To gain even more clarity. And then watch it change. You are helping countless people.
With your work. As a token of thanks. I would like to make small donations.
A small donation to your business. Please send me the link. Well first of all.
I don't have a business. This is not a business. This is a free service.
And friends. Don't worry about. Donation or anything.
It's fine. I'm just happy to help. And.
It might be a business one day. But at the moment. It's.
As long as I can. Whoops. As long as it can still be a free service.
But to me. That's not a business is it. If it's free.
It ain't a business. It's a free service. But you know.
We'll see. We will see. Yes we will.
It's. The old somatic. Whatever it's called.
I find it interesting. How different. People.
Not talking about. Her. I'm talking about the.
The developers. Or the people. That post.
Have these ideas of. Let's say pain relief. Or whatever.
Relaxation techniques. And they give them these names. And.
As well much as if. It's then their idea. Yet.
The idea of focusing on. A feeling. The mood.
You know. Just following it around. Is.
This is. This is. You couldn't even trace.
Who came up with it first. Probably quite a few people. Came up with it.
Over. Hundreds. And hundreds.
If not thousands of years. The mindfulness. Focusing on how you feel.
Noticing. Feelings in your body. Just noticing.
As they change. As they move. You know.
All that stuff. It's not new. None of it's new.
And. I did think about. There's this.
There's this technique. I discovered. I discovered it.
I didn't. I didn't create it. Or invent it.
But I discovered it. In my own. In my own life.
You know my. By. By experimentation.
And this is back in. 2004. So I was very much into.
Chronic pain relief. I wanted to do. I started the free pain.
Relief service. In my town. In 2004.
But nobody. Nobody. But nobody.
Was interested. Promoted it. Put adverts in the paper.
Everything. And people would contact me. I want to stop smoking.
Can you do that? And I said no. It's a free pain relief service. Go away.
And. I'd like help. With my driving test nerves.
No. Go away. I'd like to.
Have more self-confidence. Have more self-confidence. In my large boobs.
Yeah. I suppose I could see. Yeah.
I just. No. I didn't want to do anything.
But chronic pain relief. That's all I wanted to do. At that time.
And. I. I'm making myself laugh now. Sorry.
That wasn't true either. That bit. The bit about.
Pain relief. Yeah. It's the only thing.
I wanted to do. I didn't. I wasn't interested in.
Anything else. I'm talking. Nothing else.
Got my juices squirting. Other than chronic pain. Relief.
Helping people with chronic pain. Didn't want to do hypnosis. With anybody.
About any other subject. And. When nobody shoo.
Shoo any attention. Shoo. Showed any attention.
Or any interest. In the chronic pain relief stuff. Back in 2004.
And 2005. I didn't know what to do. I was very flummoxed.
I must tell you. Very flummoxed indeed. So I did.
See a few people. Like friends and people. That I knew.
Worked with or whatever. And I did some relaxation sessions with them. Did a. A few different record.
You know not recordings. A few like one-on-one sessions with people. And.
I guess the hope was. Get a bit of experience. And maybe it could lead to something better.
But it didn't. Nothing came of it. Kind of a complete waste of time.
Apart from for them. But I didn't really. I don't think I really.
Got anything out of it. And I suppose. I should have done considering.
You know I was doing hypnosis with people. Didn't really enjoy it. Because I wanted to do chronic pain.
Relief. So back in. You know when I got to 2006.
When I relaunched it. With all the energy. Of a lightsaber.
I relaunched. And this time it did kick off. It.
You know became. I don't use the word popular. Because I wasn't seeing thousands of people a day.
But. It became. It started to grow.
But what happened. At that time. I think.
If you tell people. Enough. Something enough.
They start to believe it. And people start to believe. That I was a hypnotist.
And I wanted. You know that I could help people. And it's not that I wasn't.
It's just. I prefer. Back then.
In the early 2000s. I like to tell people. I think.
That I was a hypnotist. I don't know. I don't know if it's showing off or what.
But I just like. I just like to tell people. Because it's such a weird thing.
It's almost like a weird. Kind of thing to be doing. And.
But I got my bluff. Called. In a big way.
In 2006. To the beginning. With.
My friend. Her friend. Who she worked with.
Had to have a driving. She wanted to be a driving instructor. And had to have a. She had one chance.
One more chance to pass. Because she'd failed twice or something. To become a driving instructor.
So she had hypnosis with me. To help her with that. I was pushed into that.
I was very much. I didn't want to do it. Because I was nervous.
I was scared. I was. Because I didn't know what I was doing really.
I didn't. I'd never done it before. I kind of.
Didn't really know. If it was going to be successful. Or.
And it wasn't chronic pain. So I wasn't interested in the subject. Not the person.
But the. You know. Dealing with nerves.
And anxiety and stuff. I was. Okay.
I was interested in the subject. But it's a different. You know.
It's a different kind of thing. To what I used to go through. With the anxiety.
Mine was. Panic attacks. And anxiety.
Not. Not because of any reason. But anyway.
That went really well. She passed. And then.
Suddenly all these different people. Came out. And wanted help.
There's a man. Who was in hospital. Another woman.
Who was having. Double transplant. And all these.
Another woman. Who was going into hospital. For a serious operation.
All these things happened. Within. In like.
A couple of weeks. And then the pain relief people. Started contacting me.
Sort of. And I was like. They're actually picking me up.
In a car. At. Blockbusters car park.
And taking me to where they lived. In order for me to help. A family member.
Or something. Their daughter. Or their son.
Or their dad. With pain relief. And then.
What came out of that. And I guess. It's always going to happen.
For every therapist. Every. Hypnotist.
Hypnotherapist. It's very hard. To specialize.
Because people. Will ask you. To help them.
With other things. So. For example.
I. I. I. I. I was at this lady's house. And she had serious. A serious.
Back. Injury. It was chronic pain.
Now. You know. It was chronic pain.
Not acute pain. But it was. It was almost.
Like a permanent. Thing. So I helped her.
To reduce the pain. To pretty much nothing. While she was with me.
And. Her daughter. Ended up grabbing me.
And. Not grabbing me. But getting me.
To help her with her. A phobia that she had. So I helped her with that.
So I was. Again. Like.
I'm not here. To help with phobias. And then I think.
Her daughter. Wanted to help with her. Driving lesson.
Or driving. Driving test nerves. And then someone else.
Came along. And like. And it just kept.
Growing. And people wanted more stuff. That wasn't to do with pain.
And I didn't want. To really do it. But I didn't want to turn people down.
As well. You know. Because there's no money in it for me.
I didn't charge anyone anything. The only time I took money from anyone. Was.
When I rented a room out. At the weekend. And I charged people.
The exact amount of money. That I was being charged. So for this therapy room.
I was being charged 10 pound an hour. So that's what I asked. From the client.
Or from the person. Coming to see me. 10 pound.
So I need 10 pound. To cover the room cost. And that's exactly how much it was.
You know. I didn't ask for 20 pound. Like to blag it.
Or anything like that. Because. I don't see the point.
So. I did that. And then.
Just. More and more people. Driving testners.
Stopping smoking. And. I'm just trying to think.
The thing is. With driving testners. I was really successful.
Until one person. And. It just didn't.
Didn't work so well. And. For some reason.
And I went around. Another person's house. To help them with smoking.
To stop smoking. Was it stop smoking? It was something like that. And.
So I was sitting there. And I farted. And after that.
We couldn't stop laughing. And I kept farting. Because I was laughing.
And. I had to leave. She wasn't upset.
She found it hilarious. Just. I had to leave.
Because it just wasn't. Working. You know.
I had another person. I forgot about that. I went and visited her.
Well she came to me. To stop smoking. And she did for about six months.
Apparently. And. I lose track of the different people.
What they came for. And I wasn't there for all that stuff. I didn't want that.
I just wanted the pain relief. But sometimes. And the lady.
Who I rented the room off. She wanted me to. Rent it from.
What ten to. Nine to twelve or something. For at least three hours.
So. If I only had two people. I'd try and fit another person in.
Just so I could sort of pay it. Otherwise I'd have to pay the extra ten. Ten pound.
Out of my own pocket. Yeah. Yeah.
I just didn't really. Wasn't. I mean I enjoyed all of the sessions.
Really. But. I mean.
In a way. Driving tests. Or driving lessons and stuff.
Helping with that. Is. Would be.
I did go into that. I did start to kind of try and promote that. So I thought it would be a good way to.
Maybe. Earn a living. You know in the future.
Because I was quite good at it. But. Not sure how interested I was.
To be fair. And I was still. What two thousand.
I was two thousand six. I was still working on it in two thousand. Nine.
I had some. I had a recording. I had a. Actually I had a hypnosis course.
Specifically for. The driving test nurse. But I lost it somewhere.
Must have dropped it. Out of my pocket on the way to. School or something.
I don't know. On the way to the tip shop. Yeah.
I don't know. It's weird thinking back. That was the thing.
That was the thing that I was really. Really interested in. Yes.
The thing that I've spent the least time doing. And part of the reason for that is because. I'm not got a lot of.
I got a lot of positive feedback over the years. On YouTube and that. With pain relief.
Videos I did. But it was more the sleep recordings. And the relaxation.
They are the ones that had the most interest. And the most views. And the most listens.
And. I couldn't really ignore. The feedback I was getting.
I tried. I tried ignoring it. But.
You know. I suppose. It's the whole thing.
With like nightclubs. Or like comedy clubs. Theaters.
People show. You know. Bums on seats.
That's the result. That's the market. All the market research you need.
It's a place full. It would be nice to know why it's full. How did they get there? How do they know about it? But.
I can look at the stats. And see that people listen to the. The longer recordings.
They prefer the longer recordings. To the shorter ones. Sometimes.
Which means. I need to keep making. The longer recordings.
Now I also know that. A lot of people. Also like to just listen.
To a shorter recording. Like a nice 20 minute relaxation. Without any music.
And then. They can just get on with the day. Or you know.
Do whatever they're doing. But other people want to be able to listen. For maybe 2 hours.
Some people want to listen for 5 hours. Others would go for 10 hours. So you know.
Trying to cater for everyone. Not everyone. But trying to cater for as.
Many. People as possible. I'm getting a stomach.
Playing up today. I've eaten. I eat it.
So I don't know. Why it's doing that. I don't get it.
I don't see why. Why. Why.
2476. So how many. Downloads have I had.
This month. Current month. 378,746 downloads this month so far and there's still three days left.
So if I go to the last 30 days, 396 downloads. 396,608, well 396 downloads. 396,608 and a half.
So it's not bad really considering I started off the month 7,000 then 8,000, 8, 8, 8, nearly 10, nearly 13, then 15, nearly 16, then 13, then 13, then 10, then 12, then 12, then 13, these are thousands. So just through the 16th of the month, 14 and a half, 12, 13 and a half, 14, then it just rises for some reason. 18 and a half, 21 nearly, 22, 22, 22, this is roughly 21, 21,760 or whatever, 18 and a half, yesterday 13,215, now today 22,370 so far.
It's weird, I don't know, I don't know what to make of it. Technically the amount of recordings I uploaded today I should be on about 40,000 but it doesn't matter, it doesn't because all the extra ones I added were 10 hours long. So they weren't even uploaded 10 hours ago.
So how many 10 hours recordings can you listen to in a day? Not many, I don't think, not many, maybe one, maybe two, yes two. So yeah, how to reduce your audience, make the recordings longer. So what I should be doing is making shorter recordings, not longer recordings, making them last a minute each, so that people, they listen to, you know what, there might actually be some truth in that if I did some shorter recordings.
Those recordings may actually have their own audience. Short relaxation, I did actually used to have a podcast, in fact I used to have, what the hell happened there? Wow, I don't remember, I had short relaxation hypnosis podcast, I had a short pain relief hypnosis podcast. I think they were on my hard drive, I've never uploaded them to these podcasts.
And there was like 20 or 30 on each one, something like that. Blimey, I forgot all about that. I've also got the Hypno Chats, don't know what happened to them, they're somewhere.
I can't even, I can't even guess how many recordings I've done this year. I can't guess it, it's almost impossible. It's impossible, it's not impossible.
Well it's not impossible at all, I could just go and count them, I suppose, I suppose, yeah, I haven't thought about that. But it's a lot, it's so many, so, so, so, so many recordings. And I just don't know how, how I managed to get to this point where I'm doing more recordings in a month, or more, okay, more recordings in a week, than I used to do in a month.
I was going to say more recordings in a month than I do in a year, but that's an exaggeration. I've always done quite a few in a year, spreading over a year, you can get quite a lot done. So it's Monday, it's Monday, it's pouring, the old man is snoring me to sleep.
No he's boring me, it's, it's raining, it's pouring, my old man is boring me to tears, after all these years. No moonlight, no sunlight, dee, dee, dee, dee, dee, dee, dee.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh don't help honestly makes me so tired i don't want to be going to bed all the time not all the time my stomach's still gurgling i had a tuna sandwich tuna sandwich yeah tuna sandwich i was gonna say i had a tuna sandwich sandwich but then i realized what i was trying to say was tuna salad sandwich there's no salad that's just tuna no salad salad no salad just tuna mayo no mayonnaise as far as i know and if there is it's very minimum minimum
don't like mayonnaise Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, don't like them, I don't like them at all, don't like mayonnaise, in Ireland, when I lived in Ireland, I don't know what it's like now, the McDonald's over there use mayonnaise, way too sweet, the burgers didn't taste properly, it just didn't taste, I mean I thought the McDonald's, wherever you went in the world, the burger, you know, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, whatever, would taste the same, wherever you are, whether you are in China or Russia or Denmark, I can't name every country,
I'm just saying, wherever you are in the world, then the McDonald's should taste the same, now I don't know, but I've heard that it's not true, that isn't the case, and it wasn't in Ireland in the 90s, now I was drunk enough not to care, but it just didn't taste right man, didn't taste right, mayonnaise on a burger, gross, ironically though, I don't know if it's ironic or not, I love salad cream, which is almost the same kind of texture isn't it, I don't like the texture of mayonnaise, it's just too, I can't say the
word but, you know, it's just like, mmm, so, salad cream, especially with chips, if you have like burger and chips or something, salad cream and tomato ketchup together, on a plate, not mixed together, just together, you introduce them, you know, they're in public, they keep their distance, nothing happens, they're just there, they're very well behaved, and I just, a nice chip, and usually it's in a pub or something, though I haven't been in a pub for many years really, but a burger with some mayonnaise, not mayonnaise, with some salad cream, ooooh, ooooh, dip that in,
it's perfect, absolutely perfection, love it, mayonnaise, no, no thanks, no thank you very much, take it out of my sight, well don't just say that, get out of my sight, get out of my sight, right, about to give me a good old thrashing, oh this is going to hurt me more than it does you, well don't do it then, so, if it's hurting you so much dad, why are you smiling, so teachers, teachers, teachers make the world go round, right, I have, I do believe all the equipment I need now to do live streams, so
I've got the new mic, I've got the camera already there, I've got the laptop, and I've got OBS installed, I just need to put it together, so I might start looking at that tomorrow, although there's a lot still to do on the podcasts, you know, putting in descriptions and stuff like that, so I might do that first, it might be another 2 or 3 days work, and I've also got to add the transcription for a good 300 Deep Sleep Whisper podcasts, so there's a lot to do and that has to come as a priority, not
above making new recordings but, you know, just below that, that's the second most important thing to do, so, that will keep me busy for the rest of the week I imagine, so there, hope you're all well, you know, I'm going to go now, it's going to take me about 10 hours to upload all this stuff, so thank you for listening, remember, I will be back tomorrow night, I might be going out Thursday, I might be going to see a friend on Thursday, which is the 30th isn't it, tomorrow's the 28th, it's Tuesday, 29th is Wednesday,
Thursday the 30th, yeah, so I might be doing that, so what I might do is take my camera and do a couple of Jason Chat Vlogs, just to sort of, you know, give you a little scenic view of where I am in it, so, I'm going to go, so thanks for listening, remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy, do something nice for yourself today, lots of love, bye.
