#612 Let me bore you to sleep

Hello and welcome to Jason Newland dot com. My name is Jason Newland. This is let me bore you to sleep.

Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. I hope you're well. And it's a real buzzing sound in here today.

I don't know where it's coming from. Maybe it's coming from the iPad. I didn't feel the iPad made any noise.

But it's like a background buzzing. Not like loud. It's not like a vibrating bop.

I just, I don't know, just there's a, you know, a bit of a sound just. I don't hear people shouting in the background. I really should close the window when I make these recordings, but I like to have a little bit of air coming in, even in the winter.

Actually, I like to have a bit of air coming in. Even in the summer and the spring. And the fall.

No, no, autumn. Don't you mean fall? No, autumn. That autumn.

I can't help it. I've just been brought up to say it. I want to say it.

Can I just let me say it once? All right then. Fall. Is it fall?

no it's autumn it's not that complicated four seasons for probably millions well hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years possibly thousands of years but don't know if I go back millions of years because there may not have been four seasons and might have just you know if we going through an ice age that's kind of just one season isn't it although I don't actually know what I'm talking about but I never did I never did I never did I never did stop it okay okay I'll stop it now so yeah basically haven't made

a recording haven't done that much in the way of recordings this week in fact I don't know let me have a look not really sure how many I've done this week not many so far and 13th of March it's now the 16th of March so I did okay fair enough I did recordings 9th 10th 11th 12th and 13th so it's two days pretty much two days where I didn't do anything it's not really a lot is it I think it just it can seem a lot sometimes seem like a long break when actually it isn't

at all did you know in Iceland they've had 1,200 earthquakes this week 1,200 earthquakes I say this week I'm not quite sure how long the period has been 1,200 this is based on a news report it's etched in my brain and the is an earthquake about is a volcano about to go off and it's a case of not where not if but when they sort of know it's definitely and they think that the reason why the is because of the lava is sort of coming from the center of the earth and that's why there's all

these earthquakes blimey it's cool and they said this never happened before like this is in living memory it's this is completely different to anything they've experienced before I'd be on a plane mate I'd be I'd be out of there I would not be waiting around for that would you that's that's scary so any of my earthquake friend I mean Iceland friends get out of there run blimey I know Iceland's a big country there's a lot of space well I don't know how big but I think it's quite big so a volcano is not gonna well

hopefully not gonna affect the entire country but if you're anywhere near the volcano get out please I don't know what I think of when I think Iceland places like Denmark and those kind of places I think of first of all being fairly cold but fresh kind of untouched you know sort of some of the places that I imagine quite quite similar to how they were hundreds of years ago in some ways maybe not the buildings but the habitat possibly I'm again I'm making this up but I just had this nice feeling towards the habitants or

the inhabitants of Iceland and I don't know like this guy get a sense of they're really quite nice people I've got no well I did I dated someone from Denmark once and Denmark's quite close to Iceland isn't it I think is it or maybe it's not is it Denmark it's it was a place cold it was a place where well both her parents were fish so I just I it was kind of maybe I don't know anyway I dated her and she was nice so again it's just generalization but from what I see on the

TV they just like Sweden as well Sweden Switzerland those kind of places just seen nice this is not the people are quite nice there's people something listen to this what you mean you talking about what you mean Swedish people are nice you ain't got a clue you never been to Sweden how do you know I don't know I just I kind of figure you know what if we're gonna generalize why not generalize positively most people generalize negatively don't they why not switch it around the other way negative to positive generalizations maybe then it should be

improve improve I tell you improve things I don't know Wow the tallest man in the world just was on television standing next to the Queen I'm talking 7 8 foot tall now we all know the Queen's a good 6 foot 3 so this bloke was way taller 8 got be gone over 7 foot Wow blimey apparently everyone in Sweden's about 7 foot just that's just the women the men blimey 9 foot and made of rock I don't know by the way if you hear any shouting or stuff like that it's just people in the garden

the other side of the fence they like to I assume they like arguing and why would they do it so often if they didn't enjoy it that's gotta be a yeah but people get angry they go enjoy getting angry why would they do it so often if they didn't enjoy it which means they're not really angry are they because if you're doing something you enjoying it it's almost you can't be angry and be happy at the same time enjoying something you're happy so how can you be angry and happy at the same time oh that's

a bit of a kerfuffle a bit of a brain fart if ever there was one so yeah everything's alright here not much occurring yeah just nothing at all is happening at all little bit of sad news the other day I think it was the weekend was it now Wednesday yeah the weekend marvelous Marvin Hagler passed away and for those don't know who he is or was he was the classed as possibly the greatest middleweight boxer of all time possibly I think I have the word possibly which is no way of knowing it's just you can't

you know people love to sort be so definite about it you can't be definite about it you just can't you can't get Jack Dempsey and you know Roy Jones Jr.

fighting each other or Marvin Hagler and Golovkin or Canelo fighting each other because they're not apart from the fact that some of those people are no longer with us it's just you know it's just impossible to do because you have to have them in their peak not just in their peak but on their peak night because some boxers in their peak they still have rubbish rubbish nights at the office as they like to say but Marvin Hagler was one of it definitely one of the greats and really although I was a kid oh no he's

gonna talk about it being a kid he's gonna talk about boxing the two subjects we don't want to hear about him being a kid and boxing oh my goodness why can't he think of something original to talk about because I don't know I never go out I don't see anyone I don't have any kind of social life I don't have any human contact that's why I have to talk about the past because there is no present at the moment thank you very much when there's an actual present and there's activity and I'm allowed to go

out and there's people around and I have annoyances and I can talk about them otherwise what am I going to talk about I went to the toilet earlier yeah I walked into the kitchen did some washing up you want to hear about that do ya do ya you don't you really don't yeah yesterday I washed me bum it was great all the neighbors clapped asked to thanked me and everything oh no someone sent me flowers no you need to hear about that oh so when I was about oh I watched boxing when I was a

kid my dad watched boxing but I only it's only like the really really big matches or fights you know the first one I remember is Ali against Holmes where Holmes beat Ali up and Ali was already Holmes is a world champion and Ali was trying to win it back for the fourth time he shouldn't have even been in the ring with Holmes he wasn't capable anymore he didn't have the ability he'd you know after fighting Holmes and losing he fought he's a bit of interesting trivia for those that are Mike Tyson fans but don't maybe

know a huge amount about boxing or don't or not you know not that interested but this could be interesting to you okay here we go so my Ali's last fight where he got beat it got beat again was with to a drumroll the man that Mike Tyson beat up to win the world title what yeah no yeah so what's his name Mike Tyson I know not obviously Mike Tyson Mike Tyson for some reason his name's got out of my head and I remember so many of the boxers names but Tyson Burbick I've not even looked

I just put his name into the thing Trevor Burbick so in 1986 and 1985 previous I was watching a program called seconds out used to be on I'm guessing the Thursday night quite late at night and it would give you a summary of the big fights as well as the upcoming prospects you know the people that are kind of the they're kind of touted as being potentially future world champions see they showed them like a couple were on there the two main ones being Mike Tyson this is long before he won the world title and

he was still only like 18 or something at the time and Nigel Benn are those similarities because they were both two boxers going out there knocking opponents out flat you know really quickly difference is Mike Tyson is he had a defense on him he moved his head and he went in there he knocked him out but Nigel Benn went out hands-flying sometimes he didn't get knocked down himself then he'd get up and he'd knock the other person down he had no defense at all it was all attack all offensive and really exciting really really exciting

and he came a bit of a cropper later on because that style of fighting and it will win you world titles because it did they won him I think two world titles but it also can get you into a lot of trouble when you come across someone who is brilliant someone such as Chris Eubank and he fought a few others that were really good as well that he lost to and Michael Watson's another one who you know you couldn't knock them out he was never gonna knock Eubank out.

Eubank never got knocked out by anybody. He got knocked down a couple of times but he always got up. So anyway because Michael Watson and Eubank knocked Nigel Benn out both of them but they went through the walls to do it they really did an exciting fight anyway that was seconds out.

Tyson they kept showing him because he's this prodigy that's it a young prodigy teenager big big teenager knocking out grown men some of them 10 15 years older than him knocking him out and they were all bigger than him you know he was going in he was I'm heavier than Mike Tyson was when he won the world title so it gives you an idea even though if he stood in the ring if he stood in the same room as me now he'd look bigger than I am he must have I mean he was a giant

but I don't know how he didn't weigh more and he's about 5'9 so he's or 5'10 so he's about 5'9 or 5'10 probably less now now he's older because we shrink as we get older not the only thing that shrinks and he basically he was getting paid right before he even got close to a world title challenge he was earning $500,000 a fight in 1985 late 95 85 early 1986 and then he fought for the world title against Trevor Burbick now I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you this whole thing this is just my memory of

it now this is supposed to be boring so those aren't interested in boxing just just get bored just enjoy being bored those that are interested in boxing you might learn something you may not learn as in go I'm your teacher I'm I know more than you I don't mean it that way but I learned something new and I didn't know this about Trevor Burbick so you know it could be interesting for those that didn't know you know I've done a bit I do a little bit research sometimes in things boxing is one of those things

I do I do a bit of research sometimes getting really into it just like a specific boxer like there's some boxers that would have gone on very likely to have dominated the heavyweight division or the middleweight division who would have been absolute superstars but they some of them died early they you know they they died at an early age they didn't they you know the unbeaten but they didn't manage to go any further because of that there's one particular man who I think was in a motorbike crash and he was a heavyweight and he couldn't

do it anymore because of that another I don't know if he was a middleweight but he was absolute animal like knocking every single person out and he he was about to have a world title fight in fact he might have actually won the world title I think he actually won the world title and he was training for his first defense and he damaged his back in training so bad that he could never box again and so this is someone that he was one of the few world champions that retired undefeated but his was because of

serious injury but then there's a heavyweight boxer right this is totally true he's been shot twice and he's had a hip replacement had both his hips replaced and he still went on to win a world title he's like what shot twice like two different occasions I don't know if he was in the army or something like that or just unlucky but Wow anyway Mike Tyson what the build-up to Mike Tyson right was this he won his world title against Trevor Burbick I'm not sure what month it was in 86 it would have been later in

the year I think it was something like November 86 it definitely wasn't the beginning of the year so I think it was like near the end November so he and he got in a ring I remember it really clearly I watched it live on telly and it was I was watching it probably three o'clock in the morning or something like that and it was on that'd be Sunday morning and he was on you know I had the volume down anyway he came in without any socks on he was a challenger so he walked into the

ring he had black shorts on now he wasn't allowed to wear black shorts because the champion was wearing black shorts now in the past this wouldn't have made any difference because all the boxers pretty much wear the same color shorts on and they had red gloves nowadays they have pink blue purple green fluorescent gloves all kinds of stuff it's all different now but everyone was pretty much dressed the same in the old days there was no like hey you know it was just doesn't matter we don't care about the gloves not a fashion show anyway

Tyson refused to wear different kind of gloves so immediately according to the the person who was talking he was gonna get fined $50,000 straight away which is ridiculous it's just honestly it's you know over something like that so anyway Trevor Burbit came into the ring he was the world champion I don't think he defended his world champion he defended it I think Tyson was his first defense I think I'm not gonna fact check this if he defended it he defended it once and then Tyson but I think it was his first defense Tyson went in

there everybody expected Tyson to win because he was so ferocious and I expected Tyson to win because I'd never seen Trevor Burbit and the build-up for Tyson not in England I should say in England Tyson wasn't even spoken about in the press no one knew who he was apart from those that watched seconds out there might be in the odd like newspaper article about this teenager tank there was a fight in a heavyweight I don't recall I don't recall it but you know as soon as he won the world title he became you know super

famous so overnight really worldwide well anyway the first round I think he kept Trevor Burbit waiting no he went into the ring first then Trevor Burbit came in now that's another tradition right the challenger goes into the ring first then the champion comes into the ring second and I guess part of that is because the challenger you know let the challenger wait longer than the champion so the champion doesn't have to wait as long before they fight it's a respect thing now that again another tradition out of the window okay out of the window Canelo

goes into the ring second Alvarez sole Canelo Alvarez his class is a pound-for-pound desk boxer he's a super middleweight champion he's I think he's got world titles at three different weights simultaneously or he did have he's a super he's the biggest superstar in boxing at the moment until Joe Saunders yeah Billy Joe Saunders beats him then Billy Joe Saunders can be the best anyway personally there's a super middleweight boxer that isn't a world champion and Canelo wants to win he wants to unify all the world titles so you got Caleb Plant and Billy Joe Saunders

and then if he fights those two people he's the unified champion like completely so he's fighting Billy Joe Saunders in May and I guess he'll fight Caleb Plant July I guess or September so that'll be done it might not be done as far as winning but he'll you know that's his plan now if he does beat those two people both of which are great boxers like really really good boxers undefeated both of them guaranteed when he gets in a ring Canelo he will go into the ring second admittedly they're all champions of both sides so

but even if he fights as a contender he goes into the ring second the champion goes into the ring first which is disrespectful and I'd love to have a little word with Canelo I just try to explain it to him something about tradition which he should understand being a Mexican boxer the tradition of being a boxer and a champion from Mexico is so huge that he should understand how important tradition is so why doesn't he understand how important tradition is that's Andre in the background by the way doing his thing what about a tradition of

boxing I find it really honestly I think it's rude that a challenger should go into the ring after the champion that the champion should go in the ring first and the challenger goes in second like he's the star when he is actually the star but nevermind so I'm a big fan of Canelo but in his next fight against Billy Joe Saunders I want Billy Joe Saunders to win because I'm a big fan of Billy Joe Saunders and he's English and he's special he's a special boxer he's one of these boxers that can look really unspectacular

against an unspectacular boxer put him in together with someone that's really good and he just gets better he sort of grows to the occasion a bit like Tyson Fury actually if you put Tyson Fury in with a you know a top 40 boxer someone you know this heart you know had very had maybe 40 fights but only only one not eight of them Tyson Fury wouldn't look very good in the ring with him not because he isn't brilliant as he is it's just he's he wouldn't have to put hardly any energy or effort into it

because you know he knows he's won it anyway as soon as he gets in the ring but put him in together with a top top top fighter and the last three fights he's had has been with undefeated people who he's beaten including Wilder three undefeated fighters knocked two of them out and I think the third one he won in points I think but I might be wrong the second one out of the three anyway I wasn't here to talk about Canelo's about Marvin Marvin Hagler wasn't it but Mike Tyson one of the most famous boxing

clips there's two really I would say if you miss if you discount anything from Muhammad Ali so discount any clips from him because there's a few photograph clips where he knocked out Sonny Liston and he's got his hat left hand or right hand up and standing over him that's there's bits like that forgetting Muhammad Ali because he's it's different league he's in a he was bigger than boxing yeah there's no one no one can touch the fame of Muhammad Ali simply because he was still famous 50 years later he was still a known person you

know he's still well known and loved around the world what other boxers have that you know it's because what he did outside of the ring not what he did inside the ring that really made it that cemented his his stature as a man as a as a icon anyway I was it so Tyson the clip of Tyson knocking out Trevor Burbick was iconic as I'm using that word again iconic because he basically hit him and then Trevor Burbick's turned into mr.

spaghetti man so it's a term isn't spaghetti legs his legs went to spaghetti and he was just all over the ring you know there's no way that fight could have continued at all and it wasn't you know then it ended and Tyson's won the world title youngest ever heavyweight of all time Customato who was Tyson's foster dad is a legal parent actually his legal guardian passed away a little while before that fight and he trained him up and trained him to to be the heavyweight champion of the world but if I remember rightly he also

trained Floyd Patterson who was also the youngest heavyweight champion of the world as well previous to Tyson I might have that wrong I probably don't though I'm probably right on that but I might be wrong I'm probably not I don't know I don't really care that much but I'm pretty sure that's true anyway Tyson knocked Burbick out.

Now I thought and probably most people that didn't know who Trevor Burbick was thought oh my goodness a child could knocked him out a little boy a little girl a little a little puppy could have knocked him over he was a terrible boxer well it turns out he wasn't a terrible boxer he was a really good boxer and firstly he won the heavyweight championship of the world you don't do that unless you're good you know you don't do that on luck you know you might have a lucky punch but you don't get to challenge for

the world title with lucky punches you have to be good and Burbick had already challenged previously for the world title against Holmes who's classed as after Ali the greatest heavyweight champion pretty much by many and he was reigned for a long time oh was that a bit of gas sorry about that anyway it turns out I did a little digging did a little dig dig dig digging and Trevor Burbick was a bit of a monster like a proper bully in and out of the ring like a proper thug and that's what was weird because it's

really easy from a distance especially in another country but watching it on a little TV screen or it wasn't a little screen but you know the Tysons only about what an inch or two on TV and Trevor Burbick was a lot bigger than Tyson but as soon as he started falling on the floor he didn't look so big Trevor Burbick was a monster he was big heavy tall and he was talented he was like one of the biggest prospects for quite a while very successful he was knocking out and beating up really good boxers on

his way up I didn't realize it I didn't realize it was actually a somebody like a real he wasn't a proper name not just but then he wouldn't have won the world title if he hadn't been good and then I find out that he's the last person Ali fought so he beat up Muhammad Ali some people say Ali's last fight they'll say yeah Holmes and it's like no it wasn't Holmes and now honestly if you're in a pub some people would they would actually get into a fight over it it was Holmes I know it

was 1978 or 79 it was Holmes that wasn't it was Trevor Burbick no it wasn't it was Trevor and especially if you say you remember the bloke that Mike Tyson knocked out to win the world title yeah that's the person who beat up Ali and if they're a big Muhammad Ali fan he couldn't beat up Ali he couldn't beat up anyone he was what spaghetti legs spaghetti legs well you punch anyone to the side of the head with the force that Tyson did any man or woman of any size you can turn them into spaghetti

legs and that's what Tyson did he knew where to punch he knew he knew what he was doing where it wasn't an accident you know yeah he just he meant it yeah blimey anyway Trevor Burbick he did come back after being beaten by Tyson and he won quite a few fights but I don't think he he ever got a chance to fight for a world title again let me just check a bit of fact-checking here anyway he died in Jamaica because he was in conflict with someone over land with his family and he got shot

I think so yeah Trevor Burbick let me have a look Trevor Burbick spaghetti legs oh is that see the first one that comes up Mike Tyson serves the spaghetti legs to Trevor Burbick another one is Mike Tyson wins his first world title as he drops Trevor Burbick three times that's funny who did the spaghetti legs better Trevor Burbick's not the only one that had spaghetti legs there was I've seen a few boxes that have been left like that when they've been hit but Trevor Trevor Burbick's one of the famous ones and blimey so what I

would do if I just just come out I'll get rid of spaghetti legs because then I'll be able to actually get his actually actual details he won the WBC heavyweight title in 1986 by defeating Pinkland Thomas who was a big big name in the 80s boxing he was actually Tyson's one of Tyson's idols one of the people that Tyson most wanted to be like and he ended up fighting Pinkland Thomas in well within sort of two years of winning the world title because he fought loads of people quite you know in during that time during

those three years between 86 and 89 he you know he had a lot of fights and defended his title quite a few times as well as winning two other world titles one from Buster no not Buster Douglas oh don't mention his name Bonecrusher Smith and so I can look it up anyway so there's a few things you don't that I can tell you about it just around the Tyson thing so this is him he lost he was doing really well right and then oh look he lost this is Trevor Burbick he lost in 1979 to

Bernardo Mercado okay so he got knocked out in that one then he came back and before that he was knocking out everybody pretty much one distance so before he got knocked out he had 11 wins 10 knockouts 10 KOs when he knocked him out and then he gets knocked out so he's going to come down the route of a well-established route of a successful future heavyweight champion usually they have majority of knockouts then he comes back knockout points knockout split decision knockout knockout knockout and then he fights for the world title which goes the distance

so Larry Holmes he took Larry Holmes a distance there's a lot of fighting between them before going into the ring they really didn't like each other Larry Holmes called him a bully and then he came back literally the same year a few months later and he fought because he had the Canadian heavyweight title so I think he's from Jamaica but he was Canadian as well he fought Muhammad Ali in this 11th of December 1981 and unanimous decision I mean just imagine having Muhammad Ali on your resume here's the weird thing I didn't realize this blimey

he fights Greg Page which is another big name in the 80s and he actually fought another two including Greg Page that went the distance then he loses two fights in a row unanimous decision so he clearly had a bit of a bad year there Renato Snipes and ST Gordon it wasn't for anything wasn't for the world titles he just must have had a bad year and then he comes back in fact a few months later he's back and he's back to his winner's ways knockout knockout points knockout unanimous decision knockout mixed decision knockout majority decision

runner he beat Pinklin Thomas to won the WDC heavyweight champion he beat Mitch Green who was a someone that Mike Tyson knocked out and he's a person Mike Tyson had a street fight with once one when Mitch Green had a fight with Mike Tyson in the ring and he thought he'd won it it went to points I think and he thought he'd won it and Mike Tyson got the decision after Mike Tyson won the world title Mitch Green was still shouting about it and apparently this is Mike Tyson's words I remember at the time it

was in the paper Mike Tyson broke his hand punching Mitch Green and Mitch Green was had his whole face very very damaged let's put it that way and Mike Tyson talks about it in his one-man show and he's saying he just you know it's very funny the way he tells it anyway Pinklin Thomas beat Mitch Green I'll pick a time but we're talking about Trevor Burbick so then of course he's won the world title November 1986 I got that right in round two Mike Tyson knocked him spaghetti and then so that was November 86 he

came back in July he came back in July and he came back in yeah came back in July 87 knocked out Terry Terry Art Terry Romer Farty so he won one two three fights then he fought Carl Williams lost unanimous decision Mike Tyson beat him out knocked him out and I think he was Carl Williams isn't he he won the Olympics won Olympic gold I think let me see Carl the truth Williams he called himself yeah 1981 heavyweight champion gold oh wait a minute that's a World Cup I thought you won the Olympic I didn't

who am I thinking of them oh it's clearly really good though you know I think I'm thinking of Tillis Tillis was the Olympic gold who also got beaten up by Tyson a lot of people got beaten by Tyson and then his interesting look and he never gets a chance for a world title but he did win the Canadian heavyweight title back so he's basically his career from there he fights all the way until May 2000 so he loses a title in 1986 November so he still fights for nearly 14 years or 13 and a half

years Wow and he the Mike Tyson fight was his 37th fight and he went on to have 61 fights the thing about it is he's got some good names on his resume I mean admittedly a few of them beat him but Buster Douglas beat him in 1989 and I guess that's just before Buster Douglas fought Tyson in fact I bet you is just before but yeah bet you anything bet you anything I bet you a bit yeah no would it have been Buster Douglas oh okay where are you oh yeah no it wasn't yeah Buster

Douglas beat him then he beat Oliver McCall then he beat Mike Tyson for to win the world title I tell you something about Buster Douglas that really annoyed me okay Buster Douglas arguably arguably one of the best heavyweights right the reason I say arguably is because for some reason he he didn't have the heart he or he didn't have the motivation I don't think he liked boxing I think that's the problem he was really good at it I don't think he liked getting punched which is understandable but if you're a boxer you know there are

things you can put in place there aren't you like blocking moving your head and stuff but he beat when you think look at it look at who he beat on the way to beating Tyson right he had a loss or this is interesting he got knocked out by Mike White who's not even a rep it's not even there's no link to who he is so it's like a random obviously he's not a random as a human but it's he got knocked out that shows Buster Douglas his mindset that someone could go on to make history

could still get knocked out maybe had a bad night you know off day at the offices as they like to say but he went on yeah he beats a lot of people that Tyson beat coming up Jesse Ferguson Greg Page these Greg Page is a big name he was a big name Tony Tucker he fought Tony Tucker right Tony Tucker this is ridiculous right okay one time once Tyson had won the world title in 86 basically what they did is they wanted to unify it that's what King King wanted to unify the world title as

far as I'm saying there should just be one world title for each weight group not three four five six world titles ridiculous one should just be one so like it used to be 50 years ago 60 years ago I don't know so Buster Douglas not Buster Douglas Bonecrusher Smith fought Tim Witherspoon Tim Witherspoon had the world title Tim Witherspoon had defended the world title against Frank Bruno England's Frank Bruno the hero of this nation at the time Bonecrusher Smith had also knocked out Mike Tyson a couple years earlier he was the first person to do

it third person would be Mike Tyson fourth person would be Lennox Lewis and the fifth person would be Mike Tyson again but both of those all of those other than Bonecrusher Smith all of his defeats were fighting for the world title so Witherspoon Tyson Lennox Lewis then Tyson again but the fourth time the the the sort of the fifth defeat was defending the world title against Tyson so Tony Tucker fought Buster Douglas okay so they were both in the running so they were both Tony Tucker was I think the title was vacant but I might

nah he's he's he's a quitter and then he went on that's the weird thing about it he then went on to fight where is he Buster Douglas went on after that Tony Tucker to have one two three four four fights knocking people everyone you know won all those by knockout then he fought Trevor Burbick won that unanimous decision it's a Trevor Burbick former world title holder he fought Oliver McCall future heavyweight champion and then he fought Mike Tyson current heavyweight champion who held all three belts and knocked him out right now he was in a

position he was already famous proper famous now if he wanted to walk away from boxing that would have been the time to do it because he'd earned so much money I guess the he could have done a defense he could have done a defense earned a lot of money but not fought Evander Holyfield if he didn't want to you know he might have been stripped of one of his titles but everybody wanted to see Buster Douglas fight after he'd knocked out Mike Tyson the fight they really wanted was to rematch which should have happened but

it didn't for whatever reason that's what the public wanted the boxing public wanted a rematch like in three months time you know sort of standard thing didn't never happened and that's what should happen Buster Douglas and Mike Tyson should get in the ring again why hasn't anyone thought of that why are they getting in you know these exhibition things they're talking about him maybe in Evander Holyfield they put him in with Roy Jones jr.

the obvious person to get him into the ring with Buster Douglas because that's the only the real memorable defeat and I got beat by Evander Holyfield he got beat by Lennox Lewis but he was well past his prime he got beaten in his prime but Lennox Lewis was past his prime as well so that's I'm a huge fan of Lennox Lewis I really am so I'm not I'm gonna say anything bad about him he was amazing and I think just the fact that Tyson got beaten in his prime by Buster Douglas they should they should

do a rematch they should and it doesn't matter if Buster Douglas is big and you know overweight or whatever it's not really about that it's about the the thrill I mean I'd be quite happy if if Buster Douglas came in with body gear on and you know to sort of make sure that he's he's safe mind you he's 60 now it's a little bit too old in it I don't know but I was annoyed with him because how can you be in the scariest man on the planet you've beaten the best heavyweight in the world

not just beaten you took everything that they gave you you know you got beaten up but you took it and then you knocked them out clean knocked proper yes smashed how can that person not want to how can that person not have any confidence in themselves you think they'd be the most confident person on the planet when you feel it almost invincible but he didn't seem to have that he went to his next fight and he just stood there and got beaten up and got knocked out by Vanda Holyfield now it's nothing embarrassing about being

beaten by Vanda Holyfield because you know he's he holds a record for the most amount of world titles heavyweight titles as well as being the unified cruiserweight title holder so he you know he's done something no other heavyweights ever done including beat Mike Tyson twice but man oh he's the way I'm out so much like come on I knew about Vanda Holyfield he wasn't a big heavyweight star but he was well known for being a cruiserweight champion and before Mike Tyson was a heavyweight champion so he was already they knew each other they were you

know they were sort of in the amateur world today they were friends him and Vanda Holyfield just like Lennox Lewis used to know Mike Tyson in the amateurs that's the thing they go on as professionals you know you think god they're gonna fight each other I wonder if they've ever met yeah there's a real big chance they have met there's also a huge chance that they've sparred and it's also a big chance that have actually fought in the ring before as amateurs quite often they don't make a big deal about it unless they're big names

or perhaps one got the other you know for example if you know if a champions fight in a fire and they'd sparred ten years ago as amateurs but that person put him on the floor then you know that's big news like means nothing ten years later ten years later come on it doesn't really mean that much now you know they were kids practically back then but that was yeah so Trevor Burbick he wasn't just a spaghetti legs he was a legitimate heavyweight champion and challenger already challenged for the world title took Larry Holmes a beat
