Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You to Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. And Andre is in the background.
And it looks like he's... Oh. All right, I've got to do something. There you go.
Andre is trying to drag a big... it's basically it's like a cat bed. But he's big. He's trying to drag it across the floor.
So he's trying to take it somewhere. But I don't know where. But I'm just... I'm just kind of happy that he's playing with it.
That he's giving it any attention. Because that was his Christmas present. And he's... he don't touch it normally.
Oh dear. So did I say only listen when you can safely close your eyes? And blah blah. Right the main... Two bits of news.
Two bits of things. One is I've got a mouse in the kitchen. This whole building is... And if you... if you don't... if you've got an issue with mice then probably turn off.
Because I'm going to be talking about mice. In fact no I'm not. I'm going to just mention it and then move on.
I think. But basically it's the cutest little thing actually. I filmed it.
I put me... I put my phone on the little tripod in the kitchen and left it there for a couple of hours. With the light on. Filming.
And it came out. Really relaxed. Just plodding along.
And it's a beautiful little thing. Seriously. It's quite weird really.
Because I... I increased the image. So I pressed pause. You know while I was watching it.
Press pause. And then I increased the image to see it. And it's just a little furry creature with a tail.
With big eyes. Which is what Andre is. Now Andre isn't a rodent.
But in fact Andre hasn't really got big eyes really. He's got lovely eyes. But this thing.
It's this cute little thing. Little brown like light brown thing. So I... I've got a trap.
A humane trap. And yesterday. Because this is.
I saw it. I saw it two nights ago. For the first time.
So I think it's new. It's a new resident. Because generally mice wouldn't wander around blatantly with a ferret on the loose.
You know he's a pretty good deterrent for stuff like that. Because of the smell he lets off. There's usually a warning to them.
Especially if he saw it. Because then he would let a proper stink off. That's just like.
He can't control that. But I saw it and it's not. It doesn't even.
It wasn't even moving particularly fast. It's a big fat thing. Honestly.
It's not big. It's a little fat thing. And there's lots of holes.
Not holes. Not mouse holes. But holes around pipes.
That lead in cupboards. To bottom cupboards. It's basically in and out of there.
So I mean I've been in there. You know I've been in there every day. Probably a few times.
For six years. Nearly. This would not be the first time that I see a mouse.
If there was. There are mice do come in there. Into the cupboards.
Now and then. And. But they don't stick around.
This one's sticking around for some reason. So yeah. I think.
I don't know. I don't know. I've been keeping the kitchen door closed.
And I'm hoping it leaves. Especially now the weather's going to start getting nice. I'm hoping it leaves the way it got in.
Which is probably through the wall. Or from maybe downstairs. Through the different passages and stuff.
In the walling or whatever. The walling. I don't know.
But. I thought I caught it yesterday. In the trap.
The trap was closed. So I walked to the field to let it out. I opened it up with my foot.
Because I didn't want to. Yeah. I just.
I wasn't sure quite how to open it. There's nothing in there. Walked all the way to the field.
For nowt. That was literally this time. 24 hours ago.
Half seven in the morning. Yesterday. And I've had it out.
Ever since. And. I was watching on the camera.
And he went in and out of it. Because he must have gone a bit into it. And then come out.
He didn't go all the way to the end. So. I'm going to have to set out the thing again.
I've cleaned the floor. Proper. You know.
Make sure. I need to do more. Probably to the counters.
And make sure everything's tipsy topsy tipsy. And. Yeah.
So it's a little bit annoying. A bit. But.
You know. I don't want to hurt the little thing. I want to try and.
Catch him. And let him out. Into the fields.
If I can. The other thing is. He's a lot bigger than I'd.
I've seen two mice. And I've found two dead ones. Over.
You know. But they were always little. This one's.
A big fat porky one. Proper. These other ones were like tiny little things.
And. And the first one. I actually.
I talked about it. About two. Three years ago.
One got. Ended up in the living room. Andre.
He didn't want to be in there. Basically. And I closed the front.
I closed the door. And it was scratching. To get out of the front of the door.
Of the living room. And. Literally was.
Scraping the bits of. I don't know what it is. It's that covers a door.
Bits. Strips of the door on the floor. And my friend.
He said. That must be a rat. It's not a mouse.
Wouldn't do that. So. I set my camera up.
Like I did. In the kitchen. And I filmed it.
And it was just a little mouse. A little mouse. But determined.
Determined to get out of there. So. That was kind of a good sign.
In the end. I you know. I ended up.
I removed. Nearly everything out of the. Out of the room.
Bit by bit. I had the windows wide open. Maybe it would go out that way.
And. But that time it just disappeared. Never saw it again.
And then I found. You know. A dead one in the storage room.
So I figured that might be the one. And then I found one. A few months back.
Another little one. It was. So I don't know.
Where that had come from. Again I don't know if Andre might have caught them. I don't know.
I really don't know. Yeah. I don't know what he gets up to.
But. This one. Very blatant.
Very blatant. So I'm gonna. I'm gonna have to be.
Using my wiles and wares. There's such a term. To catch the little thing.
And get it out of here. So I've got the door closed permanently in the kitchen. And.
I started taping up with duct tape. The. The gaps between.
You know where he's getting in and out of at the moment. On one side near the washing machine. But now he's going in through where the cooker is.
That side of it. So I'm gonna try and tape that up today. And eventually.
Hopefully it'll just go. It was a bit rubbish. I just.
It's not just my flat. It's the whole building. It's not just my building.
It's. The other side of the building. Other flats that have had them.
Is. Basically this is. This was fields.
Where I'm living. I know it's like 40, 50 years. Old this building.
But it's still fields. And we're just surrounded by fields. And whenever the fields get cut.
The mice just. Move towards. Where I am.
Not me personally. I'm not the Pied Piper. But they come in and.
Compared to other neighbors. I've had it really good. Because.
I think because of Andre. Andre's. Keeping the place tidy and safe.
But. Is that one. And I don't know if it's just me.
It's because Andre's not been in the kitchen lately. So you know. I think he knew.
I locked him in here the other day. I didn't lock him. I closed the door.
He was in the middle of a passionate moment with his slipper. So I picked him up. Put him in the kitchen on the floor.
And I left him in there. And I thought maybe. He'd see the little fellow.
And he'd automatically let a stink off. And that would be a repellent. It's a repellent for most things.
It stinks so bad. But when I went in there. He was just lying on the floor.
He did look like he was sort of staring a bit. At a certain area. So maybe.
He was waiting. But you know this. You know he's not really got much of a chance outdoors.
He'd have a chance because. I even know he's not that quick Andre. He's.
He can move really quick when he wants to. But you know the mouse has got. He can get to small spaces that he can't get into.
So it does have an advantage. But this one's. Not quite as fast.
As. In fact I would say this one is. A mouse.
This one is a field mouse. Pretty much. Yeah.
Yeah. Thinking about it. I've seen them.
On documentaries. It's a field mouse. It shouldn't even be in there.
How it got up here. I don't know. But this is not.
It's a natural habitat. So. It's not a house mouse.
Like a house cat. It's a field mouse. It's an outdoor mouse.
So I will. I'll bring the big guns out if I have to. I'll get whatever that is.
I don't know. I don't know. I suppose the only thing is to get.
Like. A professional. Service.
But they're not humane are they. So I don't really want. A non-humane plus.
Yeah. I don't have the money to do it. I want to spend hundreds of pounds.
Getting. For one mouse. So I might have to.
Look at investing in a few. A few traps. A few different.
You know. Dotted around. Until I catch him.
And then when I got him. I let him go. In the fields.
Yeah. Because I did it before. And.
I think it was my friend caught it. Caught his one. Or did I catch.
I forget. Maybe I caught one. Such a long time ago.
But there was one. Where. I went over the field with my friend.
I think it maybe he caught it. And he let it go at it. It literally.
It almost flew in the air. It wasn't chucked in the air. It just literally.
It just. Because they're so little. So fast.
They can walk up walls. Like honestly. Spider.
Spider mouse. Spider mouse. It's ridiculous.
Bless him. Anyway. I might post a little film of him.
Maybe. It's weird. Definitely weird when it's on in large.
It looks like a dinosaur. Well. It looks more like a hamster really.
But it's not a hamster. Because hamsters are big. There's no way a hamster could get away from anything.
It's plodding along. Andre would probably just make friends with it. Best buddies.
Best friends. I love you. Andre.
I love you. Go away. I'm busy.
Andre. Why don't you ever tell me that you love me back. Because I don't want to.
And the other thing. Moving swiftly on. The other thing is.
The last couple of days. I decided. Because I've got a PC.
I decided to connect my hard drive. That I've had for. Blimey.
Blimey. 7 years. 6 years.
I had this 2TB hard drive that was bought for me. From a fan. So I store.
Most of my stuff on there. Well I did. I haven't used it for ages and ages and ages.
And I can't use it with the iPad. Well I can. But I don't know.
I don't have the connections to do it. I don't mean people in high places. I mean.
I don't have the correct knobs and nozzles to connect into the USB ports. Blah. Blah.
Blah. Blah. Blah.
Blah. Blah. Blah.
Blah. Blah. Blah.
However. I connected to the PC. 2 or 3 days ago.
What is it now? Friday. So probably Monday or Tuesday. I've moved away from the microphone.
Sorry. And I started looking at old recordings. Old videos.
From the past. Because I've got no old stuff on my website. I don't really have much in the way of old stuff on my podcasts now.
I used to. I used to have everything on my podcasts. And I thought.
You know what? You know what I'm going to do? This is what I'm going to do. What I thought I would do is. Go through them.
Individually. One by one. And do an archive.
So I have. And it turned out. I'm going to do an archive podcast.
So Jason Newlands. Hypnosis Archive. And the point of this is to.
Have a podcast. With. My old recordings.
From the past. Between 2006 and maybe 2020. That is not.
Any of the podcast recordings that I've got. You know like. Let Me Boyd Asleep.
Although this is not hypnosis. But the Deep Sleep Whisperer. Sleep Hypnosis Weekly.
Or the Relaxation for Stress and Anxiety podcast. So none of that stuff. Just.
You know. Individual stuff. It is mainly relaxation.
Sleep and. Things like that. There's also some pain.
Chronic pain. Recordings. But I've not got to them yet.
Anyway. My decision was. I'm going to listen to every single one.
And there's hundreds of them. And only pick the recordings where the sound is. Good.
Or at least. Fairly good. And I was really really surprised.
Probably because I don't. Listen to my stuff. I don't listen to the old recordings.
I don't even listen to the new recordings. I was really. Probably shocked really.
More than anything. At how. Bad.
The recording. Quality was. Not the content.
The content's good. And I would say the content of my recordings. Has always been.
Fairly good. I mean. Not.
I'm not going to. You know. Win any awards.
Or anything. Probably. But.
Unless there are awards to be won. Please nominate me. Thank you.
I don't. Yeah. I. Really bad quality.
Really bad quality. And I'm not. I'm not.
I'm not happy with the quality of the recording now. You know. I want it to be better.
And I'm going to make it better. But blimey. Compared to what it was.
This is. Almost like. Perfect.
I know it's not perfect. But it compared. In comparison.
This is amazing quality audio. And I was just shocked. At how.
I was thinking to myself. How did I build up. So.
How did I build up any kind of audience. With that quality of recording. But I did.
You know. I had. I've had an audience for a long time.
And maybe it's a different audience now. Maybe some have carried on. You know.
After. You know. From the past as well.
But. You know. I think with the podcast I've been doing the last couple of years.
I've gained. Perhaps a different audience. Or a new audience.
Or a lot of new. Listeners. But I had a lot of listeners before.
And hardly anybody complained about the quality of the sound. So thank you. I think.
What's that noise. Every time I hear scratching now on the walls. I'm thinking.
I wish I could. I feel like I want to just. Empty the entire flat of everything.
And. Just. I don't know.
Maybe set cameras up in every room and leave it overnight. And see what I can find. See if there's any weird things running around.
But they have to be pretty silly to come anywhere near. You know. Andre's new thing is.
I've got the top of the Christmas tree. No. I've got the bottom of the Christmas tree.
Upside down. Because the Christmas tree was in three parts. So basically it's like a big den.
And Andre's now. That's where he goes. He now goes under there because it's somewhere that I can't see him.
I'm just watching him. So anyway. So the recording quality is really really bad.
And. The surprising thing is sometimes the quality was really good. So I was doing something right.
But I wasn't. I wasn't sticking to it. I wasn't learning.
From you know whatever I'd done that was working quality wise. But then I thought. Well most of my recordings for a long time.
The audio recordings. They started off being recordings. You know on a. Digital recorder.
Back in you know. I said 2006 2007. It was never going to be good quality sound really.
But then. When I had the videos I started recording videos. And then extracting the audio from the videos.
So I think the the rubbish sound. I got away with it a little bit when it was on video. Because it was a video.
Maybe I don't know. Maybe I was forgiven that. But the audio.
Oh man it's just really bad. So anyway. I went through every single recording.
Every single one. Of the relaxation ones and the sleep ones. And it was.
To over 200. Maybe 250. Recordings.
I'm not sure exactly how many but quite a lot. And I ended up with 45 recordings. That were usable.
Which I uploaded onto that podcast. Now not even all 45 of those were like. Well none of them are perfect.
But some of them. You know. Some of them are a bit quieter than I would like.
But overall it's the best. The best of the crop. Sound quality wise.
Now. Content quality. I've got no idea.
Because I didn't listen all the way through every single recording. Simply because. I don't have time to do that.
It would take. It would take quite a while. I mean I can just tell you.
Let's have a look. Podcasts. Jason Newland's Hypnosis Archive.
So I've got the podcast. It's 53 episodes actually. Yeah it's 53 altogether.
Okay so. Playlist. So there's 19 hours and 27 minutes.
Which is pretty awful really. You think only 19 hours of recordings. That are usable in 15 years.
Wow. But I've not got the chronic pain ones on there yet. And also there's all the other recordings I've got on the podcasts from the last couple of years.
Or three years. So. Yeah.
It's because I've been more productive the last three years than I ever have done. Previous I think. I think I've.
Yeah I've done more recordings in the last three years. Than I have done in the previous 12 years. But then I was making videos before and I've just been doing podcasts.
And now I'm moving back towards videos. As well as podcasts. Not instead of.
And I'll be. Yeah. I've been doing a lot of research online.
To get the. Well. I guess to get the best out of YouTube.
And to do the best job I can do. When I started out on YouTube. There was no videos on how to do YouTube videos.
There's no YouTube videos on how to. How to. You know.
How to not make mistakes. And how to. How to.
Just basically everything to do with YouTube videos. Running a channel and building an audience. There was no advice because it was new.
And I was doing quite well with it. So I didn't really sort of look for. I might have done a little bit.
But I don't remember looking for much help with YouTube channels. Because I'd always. I'd.
Well for me it was fairly successful. But the last YouTube channel I had that was. That I put any energy into it.
Was. I think it. 2012.
2013. Something like that. Maybe 2012.
It ended. So. And it started to really take off in about 2011.
I'm not sure how long I'd had it for. It might have been the one I'd had since 2007. I'm not sure.
But I. You know I started having some videos really become. For me. Popular.
I say for me. Because. For a lot of people you know.
They get the same amount of views in the first hour. Or 10 minutes even. But I. What's he doing.
But I had the. Was it the. The try and stay awake hypnosis challenge video.
And I had over 100,000 views of that video on YouTube. On that channel. Sniff sniff sniff.
I've got 5,000 plus of the current channel. It's still a popular video. I know.
You know. It's just people. After all these years still come back and listen to it.
In fact people actually contacted me. When I took my YouTube channel off. Asking me.
You know. Where's the video? Where's it gone? Where's it gone? I listen to it every day. I need it back.
So. You know I have to make sure. And I never get rid of it.
I have to keep it. Leave it on there forever. Really.
Yeah. So other things. Yeah.
So anyway. So I did that. I did the.
I've had. I had a lot of. Yeah.
I did basically. I ended up with that archive. And I thought.
And I'll share it with some of my podcasts. The archived recordings. Because some of them.
I've been hidden away on that hard drive. And not been listened to. And on YouTube.
They were on YouTube for a while. But they were still mixed in. With a lot of really bad quality sound.
Or on podcasts. Other podcasts in the past. Where they'd just be hidden.
Because. You wouldn't know there was any. Any podcast that sounded okay.
But now. Every recording is. Fairly decent quality.
Which is nice. Bearing in mind. Everything's old.
I think the. The newest thing on there is about 2018. But I've got stuff going back to 2011.
2015. 2014. There is stuff earlier.
But the quality was just no good. So I didn't have. I've hardly anything from back in.
Back in the day. Because of the quality was. Of the sound was pretty.
Pretty bad. So. I uploaded those to a few podcasts.
Just to share them. Because it's almost like a new. A new recording for people.
If they've never heard it before. And it. As you know.
The. The quality of the content. Is probably is.
Fairly good. Or you know. Hopefully.
Hopefully useful. Because some of these. Some of these videos I uploaded in the past.
Were quite popular. You know again. Thousands and thousands of downloads.
Or thousands and thousands of listens. Or watches. Or whatever.
Views. And. So yeah.
I don't know. It's just. So that's what.
That's what I'm doing. I thought. Give people a chance to listen to some of the older stuff.
But. Good quality sound. Or at least.
Not as good as. The newest stuff that I do now. Even though this quality of sound isn't good enough.
For me. But I'm going to be working on that very very soon. So over the next few months.
I will be getting a better microphone. A better mixing desk. I will be using software.
The Adobe software. To try and improve the quality of the sound. And I'll also be making some videos.
And stuff like that. So. There's a lot.
To do. There's a lot. But what I'm planning to do.
For the YouTube channel. Is. Make some videos.
Of those. Archived. Recordings.
So. It's 54 at the moment. And.
I might be able to get another five. Pain relief. Ones.
To make it up to. You know. 60 or something.
So. I'll make a video for each one of those. But it'll be.
It'll be like. Little bits of film footage of forests. And stuff like that.
But it'll be. I'm going to make it look professional. And.
Do that. And then once they're done. Look at.
You know. Maybe creating some newer things. Or maybe editing some of my other recordings.
For the sleep hypnosis. For stress anxiety. There's a lot of good recordings there.
Which I could. Turn into videos. And.
I'm thinking. I did a few videos. Recently.
Just a few. But. And I've stopped.
I've stopped sharing my podcast on YouTube. So I don't just share the podcast. So you can listen to it.
And you know. Because. Not many people listened.
I got a few. But not many. Compared to a video of me.
It's. It's just a lot more people watch the videos. So.
What I was thinking of doing. Eventually. Eventually.
Possibly. The. As I progress.
It's not right now. But it's going to be. It might be.
You know. The next few weeks. Get back to doing the Let Me Boyd You Sleep dailies.
Which I normally do. But I've had a few days. Where I've been doing the other stuff.
But. I'm back. The thing is.
I think with me. I'll tell you literally what I'm like. I'm like this.
I am more. I think. When I. I get focused.
When I get focused on something. I like to just do that one thing. Which is why.
I was doing the. The archive for two days. Because that's what I was focusing on.
And there's also more work to do on that. Because I'm going to be doing some editing. On the recordings as well.
You know. Which I didn't do before. So yeah.
And then. I'm thinking of. Doing the Let Me Boyd You Sleep as a video.
And as an mp3. For the podcast. Like.
Not live. But me. You know.
Filming myself. And maybe doing that every time. And then.
Maybe doing the Deep Sleep Whisper. Recordings as a video. And a podcast.
But again. I'd need editing. And I'd need to put in the whole.
You know. Put in the audio. And the video together.
So that it's loud enough. And then. The Sleep Hypnosis Weekly.
Do that as a video. And a podcast. And the Relaxation for Stress Anxiety.
Do that one as a video. And a podcast. That's what I'm thinking doing.
As well as making. I don't know. It's just an idea.
So we'll see. And I don't technically like what I could do. Because I've got hundreds of recordings I could convert into a video.
Just by taking the introduction away. So it's on adding a different introduction. So it does.
Instead of Welcome to Sleep Hypnosis Weekly. I could just have it as a stand-alone Sleep Hypnosis Recording. And then put that.
And then make that into a video. With the audio. And then.
You know. Do it like that. And have an introduction.
But without introducing. You know. The.
Let me bore you to sleep. No. Let me sleep you to bore.
Weekly sleepy recording thing. As a title. Which means that then I have.
And also the Sleep Hypnosis. The Deep Sleep Whisper ones as well. From the past.
So I could have. Lots of recordings to do. So it might be worth me just.
Doing the. Let me bore you to sleep. But.
The Deep Sleep Whisper. Or the Deep. Yeah.
ASMR recordings. Fairly popular on. YouTube.
I mean I. I was one of the first people to do ASMR whisper videos. But I didn't know. I was doing.
I didn't know what ASMR was. But I was doing softly spoken. Sometimes whisper.
Recordings. Right from the get go. I wouldn't necessarily have whispering all the way through it.
But. Sometimes I would sort of. Go from talking.
Gently to whispering. As I kind of. Came to the last quarter of the recording.
And then someone said to me. You should do ASMR. This is 2011.
I said. What? What's that then? They said. Do you don't know what ASMR is? I said.
No. They said. Oh.
I said. Well go on then. What do you mean go on? Well tell me.
What is it? Well search for yourself. Haven't you got Google? I said. Yeah.
Well look for yourself. Don't be so lazy. Yeah.
Yeah. If you go down that road. We can never ask each other anything.
Because everything's available online. All information is there. Isn't it? So you know.
Part of human interactions. And relationships. Friendships.
Is to ask someone something. So that they can. You know.
Give some advice. Or give the knowledge. But if we go down that road.
Or Google. Why don't you Google it? Okay. Let's just stop talking to each other then.
Shall we? Shall we? Yeah. Anyway. I. What was I talking about? Must have been something.
Surely. Couldn't have been nothing. Must have been something.
I must have been talking about something. Where am I? Um. Yes.
I might do that. I might do the live. Let me pull you to.
When I say live. I mean a video of me. But there's.
I don't know. We'll see. We'll see.
I think the most important thing is. To get the audio. Better.
Better quality audio. Um. Also to.
Learn how to use the Adobe. Audio software. To maybe improve the recordings that I'm already doing.
Just learn how to use it. How to. Yeah.
How. Just to make things better. I can't record using Adobe because of the sound of the PC whirring around like a helicopter.
So. That's too noisy. But.
Adobe would probably be the best software that I could use. To record. Podcasts.
But. You know. It's okay.
It's alright really. Okay. If it comes to it.
I will sort out that issue anyway. It's not. It's not like an unchangeable issue.
I can be sorted. Apparently. According to my brother.
I've got a PC that has got an HDD. DSS. WDE.
Whatever. Um. Hard drive.
Or. It's basically. The hard drive is basically just a disc.
Like a CD. Almost smaller than a CD. But like a CD.
That just spins. But apparently the new ones don't spin. I don't know if that's true.
I don't know if I'm getting it right. But. The new PCs.
Even though I've got a PC that's new. According to the catalogue where I got it. It's not the best one.
My brother was saying. I don't know why people buy stuff like that. Well how are we supposed to know? I don't know.
I don't know the measurements. And the. The.
The. The. Of computers.
I don't know. The. What relates to performance.
So that's the only thing really that I know is. If you buy a new one. It should be.
Better than an old one. Don't buy reconditioned stuff. Because.
In my experience. It breaks down. And so there are no shortcuts.
And thirdly. More is. Better.
Bigger is better. In some ways. So.
8 gigabyte RAM. Is better than 4 gigabyte RAM. Which is why I've got an 8 gigabyte RAM.
But you can get I think up to 32 gigabytes RAM. Maybe more than that. And what that means is basically you can do more on your PC.
At the same time. Or on your laptop or. Mac.
Your Bernie Mac. Whatever. Is.
The higher the RAM is the more you can do at the same time without. Overloading the. Computer.
That's my understanding of that. But the way it is the. The PC.
A little bit slow at times. But once it gets going it's alright actually. You know it's a lot easier to use.
Because I've used. Computers. For a lot longer than I've used.
The iPad. So I know my way around. It's so much easier.
Just moving files around just easier. And it's instant. Because so much of the.
The iPad relies on the iCloud. So there's time. You know waiting for things to upload and to.
Yeah it's. It's different. They've all got their.
They've all got their benefits. And I never really realized that before. I always thought there's like one thing does all.
And it really doesn't. It really doesn't. I mean one thing may be able to do all.
But not necessarily at the same time. So. You know I can I can on the iPad I can record myself.
As I am now. I can open up a web page as well and look at look at the Internet. But there's other apps I can't use.
So I can't use most other apps at the same time because this app will just stop working while the other one opens. Just in the same way as if I was recording on the PC. I wouldn't.
I'd have less trust with a PC to record than I do the iPad. Because I've recorded myself on PCs. So many times.
And had it cut out. Yeah using the software and the software just freezing. Or the PC freezing.
Or just turning itself off. So I haven't had that at all with the iPad. And so.
And I realize I'm using more soft hardware than I used to use. But I think that's part of the reason why I was using those DIC machine. Dicta.
Dictator recorders. And they're quite a few different recording equipment over the years. Trying to find a way to record without plugging into the laptop.
Like with a USB mic. Now I don't have a USB mic anymore. And I don't know why those Yeti blue Yetis were even recommended.
Because I've. I think I had two of those. And USB microphones never for me really did it.
Didn't do the trick. It's something about being connected directly into the computer. And it's just.
I wouldn't want to go back to a USB mic. Because I've got like a proper. Well a proper mic.
You know a microphone that you'd use on stage. That plug. Whatever they call it.
And it goes into a Focusrite powered thing. Which is then connected to the iPad. Or would then be connected to the PC.
Depending on you know what you wanted to do. So there's an intermediary. So the power and the microphone comes from there.
So it's not relying upon. It's not directly plugged into the laptop or the iPad. The actual microphone itself.
Which is why personally I think it's a better quality. But hopefully. The new recording.
That the new microphone rather. That I'm going to be getting. Will improve.
Really really improve the quality of the podcasts. And then I'll get the mixing desk. And the powered up thing.
That'll be a separate occasion. Because it's expensive. But once that's together.
I should be able to use it all fine with the hardware that I've already got. The Focusrite thingy. What is he doing over there? Anyway.
So that's. That's the plan. There's a lot isn't there.
There's a lot to do. I'm gonna be quite busy. Which is a good thing.
Yeah. It's a good thing. So I'm hoping.
I can get to the point where I can. Upload at least one video a day. Onto YouTube.
One video. Every day. And I've got 553.
I think. Subscribers. It's gone up by two or three.
The last few days. I need to have a thousand subscribers before I'm able to monetize. And 4,000 watch hours.
Which I don't have. No. I really do not.
So I don't know how many. I don't know how many watch hours I have. On my podcast.
But I think. I don't know if that's every year or like all all together. Because it could make make a difference I think.
4,000 watch hours. I'm just looking at my YouTube studio. Watch time in minutes.
The last 28 days. 31,003. Views 1,000.
1.2 thousand. Subscriber change 9+. I've got 534 subscribers.
It's gone up since I last looked. So it was it was 500. Such a small amount.
Anyway. It was 531. Then it went down to 530 at the weekend.
And now it's gone up to 534. Since I posted some videos. So I had a couple of messages from Crazy Animal Freak.
That's the YouTube person. Been patiently waiting for you next. Your next let me bore you to sleep.
If you're listening to this then you'll know that the podcasts are where they are. And then another say. Sending you love you don't seem well.
Turning into a skinny legend. Yep. Blimey.
It's been a long time since anyone's called me skinny. I got resolved. Known issue.
Multiple reports of channel pages not loading. OK. That's not it's not a personal thing.
Here's let me read you this out. Right. Here's a message I got yesterday.
NHS. No reply. Basically that's the address.
So do not reply. Anyway. The message says.
Dear Jason. RE COVID-19 vaccine. Can we please ask you.
Do not contact the surgery asking for the vaccine. We will be in touch to book an appointment when the vaccine becomes available to you. Many thanks.
Doctor Surgery. To me that sounded like a bit of a personal. I don't know why.
But it sounded like personal. I can you please stop contacting. I haven't contacted you.
I've never contacted them about it. Can we please ask you do not contact the surgery asking. And also it's not a proper sentence.
Can you please ask that you do not contact the surgery. Or maybe it is a proper. There needs to be something in there I think.
Is that what is that to you. Does that sound. Can we please ask that you do not contact the surgery asking for the vaccine.
We will be in touch to book an appointment when the vaccine becomes available to you. Sounds to me like they're they're saying can you please stop calling. And I haven't called once.
Not even once. I nearly phoned them yesterday to pull them up on that. I said look you sent me a message as if I'm phoning you all the time about nothing and taking up your the phone lines which gets in the way of real real patients getting through.
But then I imagine it's so but you're doing it now aren't you. Okay. So I didn't.
So that's it. I don't know if I've got I had a message from someone. Who did I have a message from.
I had a couple of messages. I had a message from Ryan. Hi Jason.
Love your podcasts. Listen all the time. Boy you do sleep are the best.
Keep up the great work mate. Glad Andre is okay. That's from Ryan.
Thank you. Sebastian said. Oh yeah.
Thank you for helping me to stop smoking. So thank you Sebastian. That's nice.
Rachel is now obsessed. I was talking about Jimmy now. Well I don't know.
A few few days ago. And Spender. And we're both me and Rachel both got a love for that TV show.
It was a really good TV show. It really was. It was in the 90s.
And why was it so good Rachel. I'm trying to think. I think.
See Jimmy now. He's got a really good presence on the screen. Great screen presence.
He's a huge man. But he's also he's got a bit of a grumpy face. But he's likeable.
You know someone that you you really like. Yeah we know what likeable means. I know.
I'm just. Yeah he's got a likeability. We know what that means.
Stop trying to explain. Stop trying to mansplain. But she's been watching.
She's been watching that anyway Rachel. Good on you. Ash says have you tried TikTok.
I'm not going to answer that. Boston says she's having a picture of a dirty snowman. It's basically big.
It's yeah. It's like chocolate ice cream and hot chocolate with all kinds of stuff. Really big thing.
It's almost like a dirty protest in a cup. Or in a dessert cup thing. Anyway I'm going to go.
Thank you for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy. Lots of love.
Bye.
