Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes. I hope you enjoyed that introduction.

I'm just testing a new way of talking where I occasionally, while I'm talking, I stress certain words. For no apparent reason. Some politicians do that.

Hope you're well. Welcome. It is Wednesday the 17th of March 2020.

2020. Yes. No, 2021.

What am I talking about? Blimey. I'm a year behind. So we've literally got two weeks before the end of the month.

Not that I'm kind of counting the days. I'm just saying that's what it is. Two weeks.

So before I go any further, I want to tell you about a couple of dodgy things to watch out for. Messages. Scammy, scam messages.

Now, if you're living in other countries other than the UK, you may. I'm sure you'd have your own version of these, but you probably won't get the ones that I'm getting. Because they are like UK companies.

EE, for example. I got a message from EE today. And it was.

Okay, that's not the one. Where is it? Okay, I can't find it now. Brilliant.

EE, EE. Anyway, it was basically saying we've had trouble. Processing your payment.

Okay. And. I can't find it.

Anyway, I definitely got an email, a text message from EE, which is the mobile phone company, a mobile phone company used to be called Orange. And I used to have a catchy, you know, saying or logo or whatever. The future is bright.

The future is orange. Doesn't work with EE. The future is bright.

The future is EE. And I just. Not quite sure why they change it to EE.

I think it's a rubbish name, but there you go. Orange is quite cool. But they took over from what do they buy? One to.

What do they buy? Is it one to one? What was the name of that with that phone company that everyone used to use? I'll look it up in a minute. Anyway, the point is. It's a scammy text message.

And they come text messages and emails. And I went to reply and it was a scam. Absolute.

Not real at all. So basically what they're trying to do, this scammy people get me to click on it and give them my bank details because my bank details weren't correct, apparently, even though they were fine last month. And the bank's still the same.

The sort code still the same. The account numbers still the same. And so watch out for that.

Watch out for banks sending stuff as well. And wanting details. So apparently banks won't do that.

Here's another one I got last week and I checked this with the post. Post lady. Post Deliverer.

I got, if it was a text or an email from the post office, apparently telling me that a parcel was waiting to be delivered. But I owed £1.99 for postage on it. And basically wanted me to, I didn't, but click on it and then put in my bank details and pay the £1.99. Well, I didn't do that.

But I managed to catch the postal delivery lady a couple of days ago and I said to her, can I just ask you a question? She said, yeah, what do you want? She said, yeah. I said, I had a text message from the post office telling me that I owed £1.99 on the postage. And she said it's a scam.

I said, okay. She said, yeah, basically what they do is you click on it. People give their credit card or debit card details to pay the £1.99. And then the scammers just empty the bank account of the person.

And I said, well, why is the post office not letting people know about this? This is huge. This is a massive thing. And she said, I don't know.

So I'm just spreading the word. So if you're in the UK and you get a message, text message or email telling you that you owe postage on a package that's supposed to be delivered to you from someone else. Don't click on the link.

And apart from anything else, it may have a virus. But I think basically don't click on it because it will take you to a website that is identical design to the post office website in the UK. And on the phone, on a mobile phone, it's harder to detect because when you're on a laptop or on a PC, you can see the address at the top of the screen.

You know, the the website address on a mobile phone, you don't get to see that. So much, you know, so you could just go to it and everything's smaller, you know. So you'd be focusing more on making the boxes bigger so you could put in the writing and the numbers of your card and stuff like that.

So it's a scam, ladies and gentlemen. So please don't click on it or put your credit or debit card details or bank details into anything like that. If in doubt, phone your local sorting office or the post office and ask, do you have a package? Or tell them about the text message or email.

See, as far as I know, this isn't really what this podcast is about. But if this gets to one person and you, you know, you might get a text message or an email tomorrow, for example. If it saves one person the absolute.

I don't know what the right word would be, but pain. Of. Going through that process of losing.

Money and, you know. No amount of money is OK to be lost because if someone's only got £150 in the bank. Well, in that case, that £150 is possibly more valuable than the person's got £10,000 in the bank.

Because if that's all they've got is £150. And they have nothing else. Then chances are they're going to struggle to replace that £150.

Someone that's able to save £10,000, although it's way too much to lose. There's no good way, but, you know, just. I don't know, just.

I just realised as I said it, you know what, someone's got £10,000 in the bank doesn't mean they're rich, doesn't, you know. So I'm just trying to say that this is horrible for everyone. I'm actually changing what I'm saying as I'm saying it.

It would be awful whoever it happened to. And the idea that they could come and just take away someone's life savings is sickening. So please watch out for these scams.

There's so many out there. Really, I got caught. You know what's all about scams.

It's a happy conversation. I'll talk briefly about it because I've been caught out in the past. There's one time, right.

I purchased something on Amazon. Can't remember what it was, but I'd purchased something on Amazon. And literally a minute later, I received an email from Amazon telling me that my payment did not go through properly.

And I needed to click on the link. And. I needed to.

Log in. With my password. And.

Give them my bank details. Again, you know, the credit card debit card details again. Now, because I literally just ordered it online with Amazon.

I just assumed that there was something wrong. Yeah, that I'd made a mistake. And it was genuine.

It's only then that as I was clicking on it, I thought. Wait a minute and I checked the address of the top because on my laptop and I checked the web address and it wasn't Amazon. It was some random made up website.

I'd already put my password. So what I did is I came out of it. I came completely out of the whole thing.

Went on to Amazon. And I changed my password on Amazon straight away. Now, at this point, I hadn't put in my card details or anything like that.

So they didn't have those to do anything with. But I was close to doing it. And.

This wasn't that long ago, probably four or five years ago. Maybe less. And I just.

I think I like to think of myself as being fairly Internet savvy. Fairly. No expert.

But I've been around a long time. I've seen lots of scams. But you know what? If I can get caught out.

Then. I'm pretty sure anybody. Could get caught out.

You know, it's. Sometimes it's a case of just you take you. To be always to have to.

Be watching out for these gummy pieces of dirt. That are trying to scam. These horrible.

They're not even human. They're not even. They just, you know, why do they exist? It just didn't.

Non-beings as far as I'm concerned. And that's that's something that. Concerns me about the Internet.

Because even if I can get caught out, which I have done on a couple of occasions. I think what about people that are. Online for the first time or or don't use the Internet very often.

Or maybe they're. You know, quite elderly and they've almost been forced to use the Internet. Due to everything pretty much being digital these days.

You lucky if you can even get. A bill sent to you. That's made of paper anymore.

Where you can phone up. And make a payment or go into the post office or the bank and make a payment. They're really trying to force everybody.

And they whoever they are. To use apps and all this stuff and. Apps.

I mean, they are pretty good. Some of them. But then, like, OK, how many different passwords can we really remember? And I keep locking myself out of some apps.

Because I forget what passwords I've used. It's sad that I'm not. Just moaning.

This started off so positive in a sense of trying to help people. I'm not talking about 15 years ago. I'm talking about this recording.

Well, basically, just watch out for this stuff. There's a lot of scams out there. Be careful, please.

And if you are listening to this and you're perhaps. Not particularly Internet savvy. And there's no shame in that.

You know, it's. The only reason that I am is because. In 2000, I fell in love.

With websites. Like designing websites. We really properly fell in love with the Internet like in a big way.

And I devoted all my time doing it. So that that's kind of the only reason. I'm fairly.

Internet. I don't know it able. But then.

There's still stuff that I struggle with. It's still stuff that I saw, man. Some of the forms, the constant.

Things to fill in and. Logging in and now it's like. Because it is, you know, there's more safety.

Measures put in place. But then it makes it harder to log in because you have to remember more stuff. That's why I quite, I quite like this stuff.

We just log in with your face. That's what I do with my phone. I've got face recognition.

On a few apps. I've got. Which I prefer.

But if my face doesn't work anymore. I can't remember the passwords. So.

I just hope my face keeps working. Yes. Quick drink.

Oh earlier. I did a sleep hypnosis. Weekly.

Recording. It lasts. About 50 minutes.

And that's there's two versions one with one without music. But the one without music lasts 50 minutes. And.

It's pretty good, I think. It's. Body scan meditation.

My chair is squeaking. Body scan meditation. And.

I kind of lead you through it by also. Talk about the. My origin of using it.

And why I use it to start with back in 2002 November. And some of the benefits that I gained from it. And.

Yeah, I just think it's quite good recording actually. But still one thing I've noticed is. And you won't notice so much if you're listening with music.

But. Without music there's still. A kind of a background.

Sound. I can hear it anyway. It's like a fuzziness.

And I don't know where it's coming from. Maybe it's a central heating or something. Yeah, possibly that's good.

That could be what it is. Maybe it is. You know static coming from the light bulb, you know.

There's something anyway. So I'm hoping that when I get the road. Podcast.

Podcaster thingy. That. Because I'll be using that directly.

I'll be recording directly into it. It will be recorded. So basically recording studio.

It records it. Why do. And I'm hoping.

All being well that the. Well, just the sound quality will be. Well, yes, almost perfect.

I guess there's never going to be perfect. Perfect, perfect, but it's going to be. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Although technically, technically. Technically it and I'm laughing at that. Technically it is pretty good now compared to what it used to be.

But you know, there's still work to do to make it better for you. Which is what I'm going. I'm aiming for.

So in two weeks time. Time. All being well, I aim hopefully to get that roadcaster podcaster thingy.

You know, record studio. And then. All being well, there won't be any background static sound.

Although it's not. When I do this, the original recording, OK. There isn't really any static sound, but the volume is very low.

When I record it, so I have to increase the volume. On the editing app. Which then increases the volume of the gaps between the words.

So. What I've come to my conclusion is this, because at the weekend. I didn't hardly make any recordings because I was trying to get the sound right.

And I just couldn't get it. How I wanted it to be. And then it dawned on me.

Why don't I just make some recordings? And. With the knowledge that I came, maybe. It's not perfect.

The sound isn't perfect, but it's pretty good, really. It's getting better. My mind, the quality of the recordings has.

Improved immensely over the last. Over the last couple of years, really. Especially over the last year, I've gone from.

Through different phases. I was using a lapel microphone. Then I was using a road microphone.

Then now I'm using a shore microphone, which is. One of the top podcasting microphones there is. So, you know, I'm pretty pleased with that side of things.

But then it's the editing side that needs work, you know, work on. So in two weeks time, so I just figured, well, I'll make recordings. Knowing that in two weeks time.

At the end of the month, all being well. I can start. Just better quality.

It's just better equipment, basically. Which is kind of. That's kind of the point, isn't it? I suppose.

Because with this mix with the road thing, the microphone, the microphone stand, all that stuff, it's about a thousand pounds worth of equipment. Just on its own, just those three things in order to provide a really good quality sound. That's an investment.

It's an investment in you. It's an investment in. I just I like the idea of being able to.

It's not just a case of. Making the sound better, but it's also needs to be louder, needs to be at a certain level that I can nearly get it to that level, but it means. Increasing the volume.

In an almost synthetic way. Now, hopefully I will be able to record it at the level that I want it to be. And listen with headphones so that I can block out, excuse me, block out any background sounds.

I don't want there any fuzziness, any interference, so that while I'm recording at the actual level volume level that I want it to be at. It's going to sound good, so the end result. Will be almost require no editing.

Because it will be recorded. Really well. First time round.

And then I can. I guess I can add it to. Either the lap, the iPad or to the PC.

And then edit the recording as far as the beginning, the end. And any bits and bobs I want to cut out if I need to. And the end result should be good, should be the proper volume that it's supposed to be.

With the crisp sound. I have noticed that sometimes when I say the word. I'm going to step back poo.

If I'm too close to the microphone, it does pop a bit, it pops. But there is a pop filter on. The microphone already like a fuzzy thing.

Maybe I need to get a pop. Keep saying. I'm stepping back while I'm I'm moving my head back.

For when I say those words like. Pop pop goes the weasel. So yeah, that's that's where I'm with this.

I'm pretty looking forward to that. And it's it's supposed to be fairly easy to use as well. It's got big screen and big knobs.

Everything you know, it's just. I like. Things are user friendly.

So hopefully. I don't know if it allows you to edit it on the thing. I don't know, but it doesn't matter because I've got editing software.

I've got the Adobe audition. On the PC that I can edit with. And the only problem with that is weird.

The only problem with editing. With the. Or is it? The PC makes a lot of noise or just like.

With. You know, it's a bit noisy. So if I'm editing audio.

First of all, I can't do without headphones because. I can't hear if it's a good quality or not. Use with headphones.

I can still the headphones. I've got are not noise. Sealed or noise reduction.

So I can still hear what's going on around me. So it means I may have to. Get myself some.

Better headphones. So that I can't hear the PC, but I can hear the audio. That I'm editing on the Adobe audition software.

I don't have that. Does that make sense? It made sense to me. Yesterday.

Now, I'm not so sure. Sure. Have I got any messages? I wonder if I have.

Have I got any messages at all? I had a delivery, right? From Sainsbury's today. And. Basically, what I did is.

As I always do. I'm preparing, you know, for the delivery. I did some washing up.

That's not really relevant to the delivery, but makes a little bit more space in the kitchen. So I pick the plates up off the floor and wash them. And.

I think I'm in the living room and I hear. The sound of the. The lorry, you know, the Sainsbury's lorry because they're banging around.

So I recognize the sound. So what I do is I go to the front door. And.

I got three or four carrier bags of big carrier bags. And basically what happens is they bring them upstairs. I don't.

I used to. Put them in the bag. Well, they used to come in bags.

They used to come. Inside carrier bags. But the Sainsbury's stopped.

Providing carrier bags with their deliveries. So. Basically.

It's less hygienic, obviously, because they're using those. Trays for who knows what. How many leakages of stuff that had in it.

They put someone else's food in there. So, yes. Maybe they washed them.

I don't know. I like to think they do. But they're proper tatty.

Tatty. So, you know, it's not their fault. It's not a delivery driver's fault.

So they come up. And. They bring it upstairs.

I'm only on one flight of stairs. And they drop it off. And what I do now is I come out of the flat.

And I put the stuff into bags. If there's any heavy stuff like. You know, a crate of water or a crate of cokes or whatever.

I take them out and just leave them on the doorstep. So that usually, that's probably like 25% of the shopping done. And then I get the rest.

Like breakfast cereal box. I stick that on top of them. And then the little bits I put into the carrier bags.

And, you know. Just have a little chat to the delivery driver. And they're usually lovely.

And. And the main reason I get deliveries is because of my lower back. I really.

I can't carry much stuff. I can physically. It's not that I'm.

Weak so much. It's. It's the after.

The afterbirth of it. Is. I just.

Really. My lower back. Is.

It really. Is not good. After I've used it.

For bending over and picking stuff up. Which I still have to do when I get a delivery. So sometimes I. If it's a big delivery.

I have to lie down for a bit. Just to. For my back to recover.

But anyway. The delivery drivers. Are generally really nice.

I say generally. They're always. I'd say.

I can't remember. A time when they weren't. Until tonight.

So. I open the door. Because I hear.

The. The. He's in the flats.

I hear. That. Because of the echo.

So I'm thinking. Why is he not coming up the stairs? So I open the door. And he shouts out.

What fella? I said. Yeah. Hello.

And he. He said. I'm not bringing him up.

I'm not stepping inside this place. I said. What? I don't have to do.

It's my choice. I'm not coming inside. So.

He didn't. Say it nicely. It was a proper attitude.

Proper condescending. Arrogant. I don't know.

Something really. Wrong. You know.

Kind of. And I've not experienced that before. From any of the delivery people.

Yeah. I mean even. If there's a big delivery.

I'll give them a hand to pick this stuff up. Even though. It hurts me.

Physically. Because you know. I'll try and help them.

Or I'll get my neighbor to give me a hand. To carry this stuff upstairs. So it doesn't.

Put a lot of pressure on them. You know. But if it's just me on my own.

Which it was this time. It wasn't a big delivery. It was.

I mean. There was. A couple of big things.

Like a couple of. Boxes of cokes. And.

A packet of water. Like some bottles of water. The rest was just little stuff.

Seriously. It wasn't heavy. I think there was three carrier bags.

And they weren't even full. You know. When I filled them up.

Just little bits and bobs. Like some coffee. A little bag of sugar.

Some bread. Some milk. You know.

Just little bits and bobs. And I said. What were you.

You know. When he shouted. I'm not coming in.

I said. But they always bring it up. Nope.

That's my decision. I can choose. And that was that.

It's like. Really wound me up the wrong way. Instantly.

But I didn't understand. The way he was saying it to me. Why he was talking to me like that.

You know. If he just said. Oh.

I've hurt my shoulder. I've hurt my back. I can't physically lift out the stairs.

Of course I'd have said. No. Of course.

Fine. I'll go out of my way to help someone. In that situation.

You know. But delivering it. Is part of their job.

It's a delivery job. And. I get deliveries.

And I've told the. I've told the people that deliver. The Sainsbury's themselves.

That I've got. Physical. Issues.

I mean. It's not classed as a disability. Because I've not.

Had any treatment for it. I'm kind of delaying it. If anything.

To be fair. And with the last year. Of not being able to actually.

Get a physical examination. From a doctor. You know.

I did phone the doctor. About my back. Well.

Do a phone. A phone. Consultation.

With your doctor. I said. In that case.

Can I book my prostate exam. As well. If it's all going to be done.

On a phone. That seems like. The ideal opportunity.

For a prostate exam. And just. Yeah.

So I just cancelled that. Anyway. No.

Don't worry. What are you going to do. On the phone.

You can't examine. My back. On the phone.

And. So. I. It's like.

Okay. If it's. There's different ways.

He could have done that. He could have. Really.

Presented himself. In a different way. I guess.

Afterwards. Well. What I did is.

I said. I'll just laugh. I laughed at him.

I didn't even see. What he looked like. He was outside.

And he just left. The stuff in the hallway. At the bottom of the stairs.

I couldn't see it. From up the top of the stairs. And.

I just went. I knocked on my friend's door. Downstairs.

I woke him up. I said. Look.

Can you just do us a favour. Just come out. Out here with me.

And he said. I've got a bad. Because he's got a bad.

Neck himself. And I said. Oh.

I forgot. Well don't worry about it. But can you just stand outside.

Just stand with me. I don't need you to carry anything. Just.

And. While I do it. I'm just going to unload it.

At the bottom of the stairs. And get rid of this bloke. Because.

I just needed. I needed someone. Else to be a witness.

Kind of. I needed someone else to be there. So that I. Stayed calm.

Because I could. I could feel. Honestly.

I could really feel myself. Getting. So I just like.

Got him out. Just. At least.

Then I could focus on you. And. Perhaps you can help me.

And he started to say. Well take this stuff upstairs. So I said.

If you take some of the light stuff. And. But he didn't.

He just. He helped me take it upstairs. But it wasn't a lot.

Really. And. So I called to the bloke.

I said. Take your trays out. And I kicked the trays at him.

I know I'm an adult. But I said. Take them out.

And. When he done that. I closed the door.

The front door. I didn't talk to him at all. After that.

And. I phoned. Sainsbury's.

To complain about him. And then. As I got through.

Whether or not they'd even be open. But they. The phone line was answering.

And. I thought. No.

I'll just. There's no point. I'm not going to come out of this conversation.

Feeling. Any better. In fact.

I'm probably going to feel worse than I did before. So I thought. Nope.

I'm just going to let it go. So. My friend came upstairs.

Had a cup of coffee with me. And. I thanked him for sort of sticking around.

Because. I just. I was.

I was flabbergasted. I was. It takes quite a bit to surprise me.

But I was. I'm so used to the. Sainsbury's delivery people being.

Really friendly. Like proper friendly to me. Whether it's because of Andre.

Or just. They're just being friendly. Chatting to me.

You know. Just about stuff. But this person.

I guess. I was talking to my friend. And like.

Maybe he's just having a bad day. It's as simple as that. He's had a really bad day.

And. I said. Yeah.

I know. It's. But it's that attitude.

It was the attitude that did me. And. I just.

It's been weird. There's been a couple of times. There's.

The garage as well. I don't go to the garage anymore now. Because of this.

It's a very weird vibe. In the petrol station up the road. It's very incestuous.

I didn't realize this. But. It's all family.

Like. They're all employed. Their family to work there.

Apparently like. Boy. Wife.

Cousins. Whatever. It's like.

And then there's. A couple of. People that were there anyway.

Before. I was like. Wow.

I didn't know that. They were all kind of together. Like a family.

And. There's one woman in there. That I really get on with.

Generally. And she's usually really friendly to me. Now some neighbors.

Or some people. From. Around here.

Had some problems with them. Whatever in there. And.

I don't know what went on. It's just. It's nothing to do with me.

I don't know. But. I asked.

I went in there. On Saturday. I just said.

What happened today? I heard there was police there. Because someone told me. That place was flooded with police.

So I just asked. I was. I generally didn't know what happened.

Or why. Or just out of interest. I was kind of.

Concerned about her. Is she okay? Did you know? And. And she said.

Well she mumbled. Or she said. Well she's got an accent.

So I didn't. Understand what she said. The first two times.

Then she said it the third time. And she said it very loudly. Basically.

That's none of your concern. Is what she said to me. Wow.

Now I was asking. Just out of. I suppose curiosity.

But. There was. There was a. A young lady used to work there.

Her husband worked there as well. And. I got on really well with both of them.

Like really. Really nice people. And I think they were from.

Romania or somewhere. But. Regardless of that.

Regardless of that. They were nice. No.

That's not what I mean. But they were nice. And.

But they ended up going back. She got pregnant. And they ended up going back.

I think. He left. And he still used to come back.

And pick her up. And I still see him now and then. And.

But I was. I got on really well with her. And she told me stuff.

She's like. Oh yeah. This happened today.

And. The police were in there. Or someone was rude to me.

And someone chucked a drink at me. And she told me stuff. And.

I guess I was used to that kind of. Communication. And when she left.

The other lady. Kind of took over from. Became my friend there.

You know. Does that make sense? So she became the person that I. Would probably be more friendly with. And I'd see her.

More often. I guess she took her shifts on. Or whatever.

But wow. I was so. Shocked.

When she spoke to me like that. And she didn't look me in the face. When she said it either.

So. It was. And I know that probably some people.

Say well listen. It isn't none of your concern is it? Well go away. Stop listening.

Leave me alone. That's what you think. I don't want you listening to my recordings.

If you're. Suddenly. Where's my audience gone? No please listen.

Even if you hate me. Please listen. But it was.

It almost felt. Personal. And she probably forgot about it.

As soon as she said it. And I didn't realize she was an asshole. So that's fine.

I thought she was nice. But seeing that side of her. And.

And I said to her. Was. The reason I was asking is because.

I was just making sure that you're okay. And she said. Yep I'm fine.

So. Yeah I hate her. I hate her now.

So that's it. I hate her. So she's.

She don't exist anymore to me. It's weird that the whole place is weird. They're rude.

And I don't know why. There's a couple that are really. Well she was one of the ones that was nice.

But now she's not. There was a lady there that was rude. Like really.

Unfriendly to me for five years. And now she's friendly to me. I thought what.

So it's kind of turned around the other way. There's another bloke there. Who was.

Being unfriendly to me for years and years. And now he's even started talking to me. So the people that really didn't like me.

Seem to like me now. And the ones that seem to like me now. Don't like me anymore.

It's very weird. I don't know if they're taking turns. Are they aliens.

And they're doing some kind of body swap. I don't get it. I don't understand.

And I don't want them to like me. I just want them to be courteous. You know.

Like say please and thank you. Just standard. Standard English courtesy.

Please and thank you. I don't expect a big smile. I can tell a fake smile off a million miles away.

Trust me. Fake smiles are very easy to detect. Because a fake smile does not include the eyes.

You know when someone smiles. A big fake smile. And their eyes are dead.

Inside. You can tell. Fake fake smile.

So yes. So I don't go into that garage anymore. And it's not just me.

They've been rude to my friends that live around here. It's just weird. I mean there's a bloke there with tattoos on his face.

That was actually. Being rude towards. Another person.

A customer. That has tattoos. Telling them that his tattoos are rubbish.

When he has tattoos himself. There's a weirdness about the whole place. Honestly.

It's strange. I don't know. Maybe they're into voodoo.

There's something. There's something going on there. You know.

Yeah. Something a bit weird about that place. So yeah.

I don't go in there anymore. And that's the local shop. There's nowhere near here at all to go to.

So that's why I got my delivery. That's why I depend on that. And now I can't get delivery anymore.

So I won't be using Sainsbury's again. For delivery. No way.

So I can't use the local shop. Because they're so rude. And.

I can't use the delivery. Because it's so rude. What am I? What am I to do? I don't know.

There are other supermarkets. So it's fine. The reason I like Sainsbury's.

The reason I like Sainsbury's is. You can order. A week ahead.

But you don't pay for it until the day. That you get the delivery. Some other supermarkets.

You order. You pay. Which is easy.

You know. It's easy. I don't like that.

So I don't have to see. Have to see. Maybe I'll start going.

Into town. And ordering a delivery. From Iceland.

Iceland. Five. This is on the BBC.

Website. News website. Today.

It said. That Iceland. Had five.

Thousand. Earthquakes. In the last.

Two weeks. Like the night before. It had 1,200.

So I don't know who's right. Or whether they're just exaggerating. Or maybe they had a really.

Really. Really. Shaky night.

But that's just. Phenomenal. Huge amounts.

I mean. They're not. At a. Catastrophic.

Level. Clearly. Because.

I mean. There wouldn't. There'd be nothing left.

Would there? 5,000. That's like. Two earthquakes.

For each person. That lives there. I know.

More than 2,000. People live in Iceland. But is.

I think the population. Is quite small. I reckon.

It's less than a million. Possibly 2 million. Maybe seven.

It's a small country. Population wise. I bet you.

I. Okay. I'm going to test it. Ice.

Iceland. Population. Here we go.

Wow. I was closer. I was actually close.

Honestly. 356,000. 991.

People. Wow. 359,000.

There are. There's 359,000. Let me just check.

356,000. See. The town I live in.

Has got 192,000. 523,000. Roughly.

It's 192,000. That was 2018. So it's probably.

It's really at least 200,000. By now. So.

But let's leave it at that anyway. It's just under 200,000. And it's not a little town.

Compared to America. It is compared to Canada. Compared to Russia.

Compared to China. Compared to. Most of the countries in the world.

They would. You know. Colt.

This place where I live. You could drive through it. And not realize that it's a town.

I mean I couldn't. Because I know it's a town. But you know you.

Because it's not that big. And if you're used to driving. For hours to get somewhere.

You're going to end up. Halfway through the country. Before you realize.

Wait a minute. We've driven through it. We could have stopped.

For a burger. And some coffee. It's a 350,000.

There's 350,000. Iceland. World population.

Very tiny. 356,000. Why is Iceland population so low? Iceland is not very fertile.

Obviously. That's why the population is so low. So the.

There's a lot of Jeffers out there. A lot. How funny is that? You know.

Why is the population so low? And the first thing they use is saying. It's not very fertile. But they're talking about.

The soil. And has particularly. Not been able to sustain.

Large populations. Furthermore. Volcanic eruptions.

Have in the past. Wiped out large. Populations.

Large portions. Of the population. Oh.

About to have another volcanic eruption. Well they've had plenty of warning. They.

You know. They need to get out of there. Please.

If you're in Iceland. Get the heck. Out of there.

Or as far away as possible. From that. Volcano.

Please. Please. Do it.

Now. Get out of there. Turn this recording off.

And leave. Please. Get out of there.

And. Seriously. You need to.

Need to. To do that. But I. Surely.

Surely. Volcanic. I mean volcanic ash.

Is the most fertile thing on the planet isn't it? Obviously when it's cooled down. Not when it's hot. Volcanoes are what creates countries.

Or continents. All created by volcanoes. So.

Out of the sea. Volcano. And then.

It becomes. An island. Of some kind.

And. The most fertile place. There is.

Is. A newly. Created island for a volcano.

And it attracts birds. That poo out. You know poo.

Poo. And. In the poo is seeds.

Of different plants. And trees. And fruits.

And. Piglets. I don't know whatever.

I mean it's a hugely. Fertile land. So why is Iceland not fertile? If it's.

You know. I don't know. How very strange.

I thought I might have had some messages. But I can't. No I can't see.

If I've had any. I might have done you know. I'll lose track.

And. I think what happens is I go through. Periods.

Where. I get. Messages.

And. Periods. When I don't get any.

Messages. I haven't made any videos this week. But I'm gonna.

I'm gonna. I'm going to. Oh yes.

I'm going. I'm going to make some videos. Also.

Here's something that surprised me. Because I've not really took any notice of the. You know the radio shows.

That I've got the hospital radio alternative. Well. People are still listening to it.

So I've not made one for over a week. Probably 10 days. It's just.

I think at the weekend for a few days. I just kind of just just couldn't. I couldn't really motivate myself to do anything but.

And there's no way of monetizing that podcast. Because. It's only people in the US that can do that.

So it's a case of doing it. It's not helping anyone. So you know I can.

I like the idea that maybe I'm helping people with my. My general podcasts. But the radio show is purely for fun.

And. I suppose there's a little part of me. Tiny little part of me.

No not that part. There's a part of me that. It feels a little bit guilty.

Having fun. There's another part that thinks. I'm wasting my time.

If I'm not. If I'm not doing something that's. Contributing towards.

This free. Service of helping people. Then I need to you know.

That's what I need to be. Focusing on. But we'll see.

I think I'm going to make another one before the weekend. Maybe try and release one every week. Every Saturday or something.

Like a Saturday night. Thing. And if I do that maybe I'll make it throughout the week.

Which means I could perhaps make a three hour long. Podcast episode. Which means there'll be.

A lot more songs. So maybe if I can do 20 songs. Things.

Should be you know. Be nicer. Yeah.

Yeah. Maybe even talk less. It's quite warm in here now.

Right well that's it. Very very very very much. Very very much for.

Listen. Listening. So grateful.

So. So. Very.

Very. Very. Very.

Very. Very happy. To.

To be able to say. That. I'm really.

Really. Really. Really pleased.

Really pleased. That we could spend this time together. So.

Remember. To be. Kind.

To yourself. Because. You deserve.

To be. Happy. Lots of love.

Bye.
