Hello and welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name is Jason Newland and this is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

Now, it is Wednesday the 27th of January 2021, well hello there, see I'm back, guess who's back, it's me, so, wow, ok, I've just got to say a couple of thank you's to some people, I'm just going to, hey, guess who I've just found, I've just found a little ferret running around, a little rat, oh it's a ferret aren't you, hello, hello, you alright, I swear you get cuter every day, you get cuter, so little Andre's here with his daddy, cuddling me for some reason, which means you probably want something, do you want me to

change your water, is that what it is, I think it is, it can't be your food, did you not forget to change your water this morning, ok I can do that when I've done this recording, he's just laying there, he doesn't do that very often, I'm weird, so I had a delivery just now, and it was the light thing that I've got, you know those lights, those big round circle lights that you can then put your phone, ok I better hide, do you know the makeup tutorials on YouTube, I don't watch them personally but I

know of them, it's one of those things, and then you put your camera in the middle, so it comes with a stand, like a tripod or whatever, and because I've already got the microphone for the phone as well, so all together it should be able to make some decent videos, hello, hello, oh you're so cute, you half asleep though, are you a little bit, or do you want me to open up that package to see what it is, shall we, shall we open the package, right the problem with making videos is, here's the issue, I

can't seem to upload them to YouTube, not the long ones, short one, yeah easy, and I'm not sure why, see I discovered a website where I could get animations, so instead of, I've still got a cough, and I've got a headache today, and it's just making me think, oh but this cough has been lingering for about a week or so, but it's not all the time, it's sporadic, so which is kind of ok, you know in a sense, if it was all the time then that's, you know, so it's not a chest infection, I'll tell

you about an hour to edit this one probably, all the coughing, which means I won't be able to make a video doing this, because it'd make a lot of editing there to take out the coughs, because I don't know, just in my mind it would be more complicated than with audio, because I'm used to editing audio, I do it every day, sometimes three, four times a day, you know depending on how many recordings I make, so editing audio is something that I've been doing for a long, long, long, long, long, long, long time, long, long

time, but yeah I've had chest infections in the past, and they are all consuming, you know they basically, they kind of overtake my life for the duration, this isn't like that, this is just a cough that just keeps sort of coming and going, but it's a proper lung, chesty cough, you know, but it's not painful, it rattles my chest a bit though, and I'm not coughing enough to have a sore throat, or to be aching off from it, you know what I mean, it's not that kind of cough, but it's just a bit annoying.

But that might be why I've got a headache, because it's been rattling my head a little bit, I don't know, I took some headache tablets earlier, and went back to bed, and it seemed to be okay, and as I speak it seems to be okay as well, which is weird, I guess it's because I'm not, I'm not emotionally connected to it. Almost kind of, I don't really care, things are much worse when you're emotionally connected, I think like chronic pain is an example, you know, it's, the last few days I've stopped caring about my lower back, when I go for a walk, and I can still feel it, it's very, it feels tight, and restrictive, and, but it hasn't felt painful.

Because, I don't care, I'm in that frame of mind where, I don't care, I'm not emotionally attached to it, I'm not worrying about it, I'm not worrying about, oh it's going to hurt when I walk through the park, which is how I have been, for quite a while, will I have to sit down on the bench, because I was getting to the point where I was sitting down twice, during the journey, just to the garage and back.

The last few days, I just keep walking. A part of that might be because I'm doing stretching exercises, you know, I'm not just, it's not that I haven't done anything, so I've been doing a lot of back stretching, lower back stretching exercises, so maybe, it's just less pain anyway, which is possible, very possible, but my attitude has changed towards it. And, also I think maybe having this cough, has directed my attention, elsewhere, you know, away from the lower back, I've only got, I must just have a limited amount of attention, to be able to experience this comfort, so if I've got a cough, I can't feel any pain in my lower back.

Just like when my lower back's playing up, I don't feel any pain in my shoulder, even though I've got an injured shoulder, with chronic pain. It's just weird, isn't it? Isn't it weird? Right, so I've got a couple of, a couple of thank yous to do. Couple of thank yous.

So, oh okay, cool. Right, so first of all, if I've already said thank you to these people, then there's no harm in saying thank you again, is there really? But let's say thank you to Richard, Alexander and Darby. Thank you very much for your PayPal gifts.

Very, very coming in handy. And Lawrence as well. Thank you.

Although I think I've already thanked Lawrence. Yeah, finances have been a little bit tight. A little bit, a lot.

Had to borrow money last week to pay for the podcast. And I had to borrow more money after that. So I'm paying, that's £150 I've got to pay out when I get my next bit of money.

I don't know, is it money mismanagement? It might be a little bit, but you know what? I'm not sitting here eating caviar. I'm not, I don't, I'm not driving a Ferrari. I don't have any nice clothes or anything like that.

My money goes on this stuff. Like that light that I bought, that I ordered. You know, it's all connected to this.

I don't want a big round light for makeup tutorials. For me, for my own pleasure. I don't want this microphone for my own pleasure.

I don't want that iPad for my own pleasure. I don't get any pleasure out of it. The headphones, the equipment for the recording.

There's nothing in it for me. As far as for my own, I enjoy doing this. But it's not, I don't do it, it's not for me.

It's not for my own enjoyment that I'm buying this stuff. I mean really, if I look around this flat or this room. The things that I've spent money on.

For my own enjoyment. I've got toilet roll, toilet paper. I mean, that's a necessity, so that don't matter.

But, the books. I was thinking to say that's for me. Although most of them are textbooks.

Books on hypnosis, philosophy, psychology, NLP. You know, things like that. They're counselling.

So, they're mainly textbooks. A lot of them is for this as well. Other things around here.

The exercise bike. Technically, yeah, it's for me. But I don't like it.

I don't like looking at it. There's no pleasure in it for me. That's an attempt at slimming down and maybe staying alive.

Staying alive, staying alive. Ah, ah, ah, ah. There's the exercise bench.

There's the weights. I do quite like doing weights. So, yeah, maybe that's for me.

The only real thing in here that I'd say. The only two things in this room. That are really just solely for me.

Is the punch bag and the television set. So, they're the only two things that really are. But even the television set I use for educational purposes.

Watching stuff. You know, educating myself. Or watching videos on YouTube.

Or through other sources. To educate and improve my knowledge base. But that's not all I use it for.

So, I do watch Netflix and TV. So, my television set and my punch bag. They're the only two things really.

The Apple TV which clicks into the TV. Those three things. I class that as part of the TV set.

So, that's the only things really for my fun. The Christmas tree that I've not taken down yet. That was supposed to be.

I got that in December. Thinking. That that would.

That that would make me feel. Christmassy. And it didn't work.

But it was worth a try. My natural kind of. Thought process.

Goes towards just chucking it in the garden. Or just chucking it in the rubbish. But, I've still got the box.

So, I'll put it into the box. And use it next year. Which makes a bit of sense doesn't it.

Makes more sense. So, yeah. I can't upload.

I found this thing. On YouTube. Not on YouTube.

Online. Where you can download for free. These different graphics.

Like animated graphics. And they also have a pro thing as well. So you can sign up.

And you can download other ones. You have to attribute. Where it's from.

If you download them for free. But if you pay. You don't have to attribute.

So you can just pretend it's your own stuff. So, you know. And you can use it for whatever you want.

So I downloaded one. Really good graphics. I went to iMovie.

And. I edited the clip. So that I put.

The movie. It was almost like a round. Barrier.

And there was a gap in the middle. And that's where I posted. The picture of the podcast episode.

But all throughout the whole thing. It was moving around. It was like spiraling.

It was really nice. Nice effect. I produced the video.

Which took. Quite a while. It wasn't that difficult.

With the actual putting it together. But it took quite a while to process. And then I. I uploaded it to YouTube.

While I went to bed. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to do anything. For a couple of hours online.

I can't even watch Netflix. When I'm uploading something. Because it just.

It needs all the energy. And I've only got quite. I think I've got 36.

Megabytes a second. So it's very. Very slow really.

It's not great for what. I use it for. Perfect for streaming.

Music. Watching videos. At the same time in fact.

You can do a lot of stuff like that. 36 megabytes is fine. But uploading.

Large videos. This one I ended up with was. 5.9 gigabytes.

And it's a lot. I think to upload. I get.

Probably 10. 10 megabytes a second. Upload time.

36 download. So I don't know how many 10 megabytes. In 500.

5.9 gigabytes. But it's a lot. You know that's.

It's said to take. About two and a half hours to upload. So when I get up.

Came back in here. Few hours later. It failed.

Didn't upload. And admittedly the video. Was just over an hour long.

So it's a long video. But loads of people. Loads of people.

Upload videos an hour long. Okay maybe not loads. But you know.

There are lots of videos. Above an hour. So how come.

They can do it and I can't. And I've uploaded. Over an hours worth of stuff in the past.

It's just I was using laptops. At the time. And for some reason.

Using the iPad doesn't seem to work. I suppose. I could try and.

I don't know if it's on here. If it's on my phone or not. Because you know.

It should be sharing. It should be sharing. The documents between.

The iPad and the iPhone. So let's have a look. No.

Oh yeah. It has. I've got to press it to download it.

So there's a. Possibility. It's now downloading 5.93. Gigabytes to my phone. So.

I'll attempt it again. To upload it from my phone. To YouTube.

Because it might. Work better that way. I don't know why it would.

Doesn't make sense to me. But the app on the iPad. The YouTube app.

Wasn't working. So. Apparently.

This is a common thing. Sometimes the iPad. They.

Update their software. Before the apps. Have updated their.

Software to be compatible. With. The iPad.

With the new software. So sometimes you can have an app. On your iPad.

One day you'll be using it. The next day not be able to use it. Because their software.

Is not in sync. With the new software. That's been updated.

I find that very strange. So I'm thinking. I'm thinking.

I am. Thinking of. Maybe I need to get myself a laptop.

To. Even if it's just. For that process alone.

Just to upload videos. I've got different things. For different things.

I use the iPad. For recording. Because it's good quality sound.

It's a good machine. To record audio. The tablet.

Didn't sync quite as good. But. The.

It's better for graphics. It's better for that kind of stuff. Another thing.

This is weird. With the iPad. If I go to Spreaker.

Which is my. Not Spreaker. No.

If I go to iPad. And go to. Shopify.

Which is my website. I can't. The website is not compatible.

With my iPad. Not the website itself. The website itself works fine.

But the back end. The editing. The uploading stuff.

Doesn't work. So I can't upload. Audios on the iPad.

So. I have to use the. Tablet.

To upload. It's ridiculous. To upload.

All the audios. I can also use any apps. On the Shopify.

Can't do it on the iPad. Can only have to use the tablet. To do it.

So I need both. Just to run this little. Podcasty stuff that I do.

Crazy. Absolutely crazy. But I don't mind.

I don't know. For some reason I don't mind. I find it almost funny.

Why? Why do I find it funny? I tell you what. I think I have stopped. I am going to stop.

Worrying about things. I know I don't talk about. Things I worry about really.

Because. I like to keep things light. I know I don't always.

Achieve that goal. But I think generally. Things are pretty light.

Aren't they? On these podcasts. Generally quite light. Quite light.

Yes. If I. Didn't know. Oh yeah.

So if I was going to get. A laptop. I definitely wouldn't get a Chromebook.

Chromebooks are crap. In my opinion. I have got a Chromebook.

I didn't like it. Basically. What a Chromebook is.

It is just. Another attempt. At.

An iPad. Using apps. I know that.

Even laptops now. They are trying to use apps. When one of the good things.

About laptops is. It had energy. It had a bit of power.

And you didn't. If it was a decent one. I wasn't relying on.

These flimsy apps. That could break down at any second. And you could use software.

I have got software. For. Proper.

Hardware. Software. Ones that you put into a laptop.

Or computer. You can build it. You can put it onto the hard drive.

And start using it. I have got quite a few bits. Like.

Dragon software. I have got. Video editing.

Audio editing. All that kind of stuff. Although.

I like doing the audio editing. On the iPad. That suits me.

I like that. Because it has got the pen. It is very easy to manipulate.

And move things around. But that is my. That is my personal.

Personal. You know. It is a personal.

Thing. Three. Four.

Five. Six. Seven.

11. 20. Lenovo.

This is with a. Screen. And a. I had one that came with a screen. The things PC's are always more powerful.

Generally. You have got a lot more power. Going on inside those things.

Than the. That you get on a laptop. Generally.

There is a Stormforce. Onyx. AMD.

Ryzen 5. 34,000G. 8GB RAM. 1TB.

479GB. To get a fairly. OK laptop.

You are looking at least £400. New. Before you say.

Why don't you get yourself a refurbished one. You can go on Amazon. And they are ever so reasonable.

Yeah. I have done recycled. Or refurbished.

No I am not a fan. I am a fan of the prices. Don't get me wrong.

I like the prices. But they. Tend to break.

Especially as. I am not a casual user. Of the old.

Computers. I am a. All day long. Sometimes user.

24 hours a day sometimes. You know. To the point where.

I might not be using the thing. But I will still be using it. To upload something.

So that can. You know. What is this.

HP slim. That's only 4GB. That's not good.

HP all in one. Desktop. Let's have a look at this.

HP are quite good. 24. 24 inch.

24 inch. 1TB. 8GB RAM.

OK. I need at least. 8GB.

RAM. 4GB is not enough for what I do. I learned that.

The hard way. Just the computer kept. Breaking down.

It's a case of. The higher the RAM is. The more.

The laptop or computer. Can do at the same time. Actions.

If you are uploading something. And decide you also want to. Do some audio editing.

Or some video editing. Separate. You might end up.

Not being able to do that on a 4GB. 8GB. Possibly you could.

That's my knowledge. On that particular subject. I am not an expert.

But I do know. By. Having had.

A lot of laptops. And computers. And all that stuff.

There are no shortcuts. In life generally. I don't believe.

I have tried. I really have tried. And.

You know. Sometimes. I know people.

They hate paying for anything. Really hate paying. For stuff.

They don't realise. They are not that special in that. I don't think anyone loves paying.

Especially. Online. For things that 10 years ago.

Would have been free. And now. There is less and less free stuff.

Online. And those that are free. For example.

YouTube. You would be lucky. If you can watch a YouTube video.

That hasn't got adverts. Every 3 or 4 minutes. Throughout the whole video.

Now. When I had YouTube. When I had video.

Adverts. On YouTube videos. They would be right at the beginning.

And that would be it. And. You know.

I can't have. Adverts in the middle of a. Relaxation recording. But to have an advert.

At the beginning. That's fine. This isn't.

This is. Being a creator. Online.

Whether it's YouTube or podcasting. That's a legitimate job now. That's a legitimate occupation.

I know. It's a new kind of occupation. It's not as old as.

Coal mining. Ship building. Plumbing.

Those kinds of stuff. Being a chef. Being in the army.

Working in retail. Being a nurse. There are so many different jobs.

I can't list them all. But. Being a. Internet.

Sensation. Being an internet creator. An online creator.

Whether it be videos or. Whatever it might be. Is now.

I think. A recognised career. A recognised occupation.

To. Be. I wouldn't say be proud of.

But to not be embarrassed about. And. You know.

In the early days. I mean. There was a time.

A period when it was all. Very very young people. That were.

You know. They still are at the top. Kind of.

But they're not alone. You know. There's the outstanding.

Top ones. You know. The top top top top top.

And. And they're not young anymore. They are young.

But a lot of them are kind of. Some of them getting into their. Late teens.

Late twenties. But they've been doing it for a long time. And that's the thing with the.

Like Logan Paul. And his brother. And some of the.

Is it KSX. I know them more because of the boxing. But you know.

All the other ones that are young. In their early twenties. Maybe even middle twenties.

Late twenties. They've been doing it for a long time. They've worked hard at it.

And I don't know if the general public. Recognize. Because I don't know.

That sort of thing. They don't realize how much. Effort and work.

And time. Goes into. Making videos.

And making podcasts. I mean I'd say. Making videos is a lot.

Takes a lot more time. It is a lot more. You know.

There's not that many. Video channels where the person. Just sits there talking.

That are like. Hugely popular. Compared to.

People that go out and do stuff. Or do pranks. They put a lot.

Like a group of them. Helping each other out. Holding a camera.

It's very professionally done. They do it professionally. It's because it is their profession.

It's what they do for a living. They put a lot of work into it. So I know.

That just one video. One video. Could take a couple of days.

To put together. Just. And upload it.

Just the whole process. The editing. The filming of course.

It's almost like. Putting together a mini movie. For what some of them do.

Not for me. But I remember once. I took my phone.

With me. My iPhone. This was.

Over 10 years ago. I still got the same coat. And.

I was visiting. My god daughter. And I went.

I decided. You know what I'm going to do. I'm going to film the whole day.

In bits. I'm not just going to. Have the camera.

I'm not going to have it in my hand all the time. But I'm going to. Film bits.

I filmed saying. I'm trying to think where I was living at the time. For me to.

Get a gauge of. When it was. Probably.

2012. I'd say. 2012.

Probably. Maybe further before that. So I'm filming myself.

Before I leave. My room. Saying it's me.

Yeah. This is from my Jason Chats vlog. That I very rarely do.

But it's. Jason Chats it's me. That's my vlog.

I've got the copyright on that. And. It's Jason Chats all one word.

No Z on the end just an S. Jason Chats. And I thought yeah. So I said hey.

It's JJ. I'm going to go and visit my. God daughter.

And I did. I took a film. I filmed a little bit of the journey.

I got to the. Choo Choo station. And.

Waiting around for a. Train to arrive. And there was a lady. I was.

Staring at me so I was just. Filming myself and I was talking about. The woman behind me and just.

I don't know just saying silly things. And I wasn't making fun of her. I was just.

Just. Yeah I was. No I wasn't.

Did I ever tell you about the crazy woman. On the train. See.

Back in my last year of college. I used to go up to London. Twice a week.

To help out in the comedy club. You know the comedy club that I used to love. And.

My friend. Asked me if I would mind going up there. Helping out so I said alright.

I think it was like a Tuesday and a Friday. Something like that. The day.

Well it was days when I wasn't at college. When I wasn't at university. So that's what I did.

I got up there. I travelled. I travelled.

Off peak. So I got there about 11. In the morning.

And I left. I couldn't go back till about. After half six or half seven.

Something like that. Well. I get to the train station in the morning.

And I just got on the first train. Just like you do. I just got on the first.

Train. The first carriage. And just sat down.

So I sat down. In the carriage. On a chair.

And. I'm just waiting for the train to take off. You know.

There was. I think it was waiting there for a few minutes. I think.

Either that or yeah. I think it was yeah. And then this woman gets on.

Walks up. To my where I'm sitting. Stares at me.

The whole time. You could say. Well I must have been staring at her.

To know that she was staring at me. Just listen to the story. Stop judging.

And. I couldn't figure out what it was. It's like.

Did I run over your puppy. I mean why. It's a real.

Hateful look at me. And then she sat. A chair opposite.

On a seat opposite me. You know to the right. I was on the left one.

She was on the right one. She kept staring at me. Now I should have said something.

I should have said. You're alright. You're staring at me.

Is it about the puppy. I mean what. You know.

And this happened. Every. Every.

At least once. Sometimes twice a week. She'd just sit there staring.

And then one day. I came in. I was late.

And who was sitting on my normal seat. Where I normally sit. She was.

Then it just. Then it clicked with me. Ah I was sitting in her seat.

I've never seen a woman. Look so happy. Or a human look so happy.

The weird thing about that. Right. Okay.

If she'd have just said to me. There's only chance I can sit there. That's my regular seat.

And I'm so. Developmentally. Damaged.

That. I can't. Struggle.

To handle. Sitting in a different seat. From that one.

Even though there's about probably 500 seats on this train. And that blocked. That limited.

In my mentality. And I said. She didn't have to say all of that.

I said. Yeah. I'm not attached to this seat.

There's a no emotional. Connection. With that seat.

Firstly because I know. Thousands and thousands. Of bums.

With bum holes connected. I've been sitting. Farting and who knows what else.

Onto that seat. Since the last time I sat on it. Not that attached.

If I'm honest. I'm a habit of creature. No.

A creature of habit. I'm a creature of habit. Not through needing to.

But just. It takes no thought. To just do the same thing every day.

There's no thinking involved. But I didn't need to sit there. I happily would have swapped seats with her.

To make her feel uncomfortable. I may have sniffed her seat. When I got to it.

But just to make her feel uncomfortable. No other reason. Nothing weird.

But I just. If you want to sit there. You can sit there.

I don't care. But she didn't. She had such hostility for me.

And it got to the point. Where. Where.

I think I moved. Yeah. I sat on a different part of the train.

Oh that's. That's how I saw her sit. Yeah.

She did it for about three weeks. Because I always used to get there early. Because I know what the trains are like.

And I knew that the trains. Got very full. Very.

Very full. Before the train took off. So I wanted to make sure I got on there.

Which I did. So I got on there early. So three weeks she'd stare at me horribly.

And then get on the train. And then be going. Huffing and puffing.

So then I thought. Nah. I've had enough of this.

So I started getting on a different part of the train. And then it was that day that I was late. And the train was about to take off.

So I had to get on to the first carriage. Which was the carriage that I normally used to get on before. That's what happened yeah.

And I see her sitting there. And it was almost like a halo. Above her head.

And the bright and shininess of her happiness. Was lighting up the whole carriage. It was amazing.

Like a Christmas tree. Then I realised. Ah.

Unless of course. She just really disliked me. For some reason.

I mean. I feel like saying to her. Listen.

It might sound like a weird question. But did we ever used to date? Then she'd have a reason. Oh that's why you hate me.

We used to date. But outside of that scenario. I don't know what.

Honestly. It's very very. Unusual.

Very strange. But I took this video. This is going back to the video.

Of. The whole journey. To where my god daughter.

Used to live. And I made some filming of her. She filmed me.

A bit of filming together. You know kind of like a selfie thing. And.

Then I filmed the journey home. And lastly. Getting home.

So that's the end of that day. Now. Editing all of that film.

Took. Ages. Ages.

And it wasn't. Particularly. I mean the picture.

To be fair. We. When you're outside.

On a bright day. The picture on a mobile phone. I think regardless of what kind of phone it is.

These days. You can have a really good picture. I had an iPhone at the time.

So. It wasn't great indoors. Picture wise.

But outdoors. During the day. On a. I think it was like September time.

So it was still bright. But it wasn't super sunny. But it was still bright.

And. Yeah the picture. The quality was really good.

Just because. It was bright. Sound quality.

Not so much. Never really found. That the sound.

Of the iPhone. Was. Too amazing.

But you know. That's why I've got microphones. To.

Work with them. Although I did. I got an extension.

That didn't work. With this microphone. So that was a bit.

Annoying. But you know. It's always.

I think maybe. I do moan a little bit. About oh.

I've got to get some more. Get another bit of. Tech.

To make this work. And to improve this. But I do quite like it actually.

I do. I quite like the. The process of.

Improving. Things. You know.

If you can't really anymore. Because I've taken it all off. Offline so.

It's not available. But my earliest stuff. Was.

Some of it's available. On a podcast. But my earliest stuff.

The sound quality. Of the part of the audios. Was pretty awful sometimes.

Well mainly. You know right at the beginning. Sort of back in.

When I first started baking recordings. Was 2004. But I made them for myself.

I don't think. I posted any on my website. I might have done.

But 2004 was. I was making them to try and help myself relax. And then 2006.

I started recording. The group relaxation sessions. I was doing at the.

Drug and alcohol. Rehab places that I worked at. I volunteered at.

And then eventually. You know I told a story. People wanted.

They said it's nice. Doing this once or twice a week. But I'd like to have to listen to you.

When I'm at home. So I put together some CDs. And the CDs.

Just went. Really quickly. The charities couldn't afford.

To keep producing the CDs. Because they would literally would go. You know 10 20 would go.

Sort of 30 would go. In a few days. People come in take them.

Slammy slam slam door. And then. What I did is.

I thought. There's got to be another way around it. And that's when I started.

Putting them onto my website. So people could listen. On my website.

Without having to. Download. Or without having to.

I'm not. I think back then you couldn't stream them. So they would have to download them.

But there were streaming services available. They were expensive. And I think I used some of them.

I mean. If I really. It's impossible now really.

It's impossible to do. But if I'd made more of a journal. Of the.

The journey. The journal of the journey. And kept a track of every.

Thing that I paid. To use online. Every website service.

That I paid to use. A bit mind blowing really. Because.

I signed up. With so many different websites. Some were charging.

$100 a month. I've done all that stuff. And then realised.

That it was unsustainable. And it's just. It was once.

When I had this system. And it was a little bit like. What was it? Napster.

And the. I can't remember the name of. What it's called now.

But like file sharing basically. I had. My website.

And on my website I had. A list of the files. That people could download.

Live. In the moment. Because it was connected.

To this file sharing. Thing. That I had running.

And basically. My computer was being used. As a. It's not a modem.

As a. My laptop was linked. To thousands. Or maybe millions.

Of other laptops. Or computer systems. A server yeah.

My laptop was being used. As a server. So.

The company. Whoever it was had access. To my laptop basically.

I gave access. So that anybody. Could.

They could download. Not stream. They could download.

Any of my files. Which were. By that point.

A few hundred. I had a few hundred recordings. That was okay.

But it meant leaving. My laptop on the whole time. The laptop would get overheated.

Shut down. Sometimes. And also.

I wasn't. If. There would be.

The possibility of other people. Getting access to my other stuff. You know.

Passwords or personal stuff. So I stopped doing that. There was one.

Website. Which was. I guess it was kind of.

Yeah. It was my videos. So it was like.

Like YouTube. In a way. But it streamed.

It just. It was a 24 hour. Platform.

So. I guess I don't know if I paid for it. Or if it was free.

I don't remember. But I became a member. Of this thing.

And I had my own page. Almost like a little TV station. So I had one.

And I uploaded. Quite a few videos. Which meant that.

Anyone going there. Could watch my videos back to back. Continuously being played.

And I don't know how many people watched. There may have been stats. I'm not sure.

Another thing I did with the audios. Is I used. A. Digital.

I've used a few digital download. Stores. There's a few out there.

Let's have a look. It's. Bitsy.

Titsy. Something like that. You're obsessed with them.

I'm not obsessed. I just like them a lot. There.

What did I say. Digital. Digital.

Download sites. Okay. No.

I can't see anything. Shopify comes up. Etsy.

Yeah. Etsy. But they're limited.

Etsy. Etsy. Amazon.

Download. Sites. Right.

Okay. Here we go. There's quite a few.

So basically what they are. Is you can upload your digital file. To their server.

You have your own name. You know your own page. Where people can come to.

To then download. Whatever files. That you've uploaded.

Generally for a price. There are ones that do it. File sharing only.

And no money. But. All of these charge.

All of these different places. And I used to be with. Is it selfie? No.

I'm sure it wasn't selfie. Maybe it was. Sells.

Send out. Fetch app. Gumroad.

DPD. E-junkie. Easy download.

Digital downloads. Pulley. Numberpress.

Payloads. I used to use a place. A website called payloads.

And. I had. Yes I had payloads.

On my website I'd have. You know. The recordings organized.

And then be. Like a download button. Which you could press.

And then that would take you. To the downloads. Payloads.

Downloads. It take you there. And then you could download the.

The recording. And if you're charging. Which most people would.

Then they take the payment. For me. I was letting them for free.

So people could download. The good thing about this is. They collected.

Details like email addresses. For everyone that downloaded. And then they would automatically.

As soon as you'd like said pay. Pay even if it was free. Still click pay.

A link would come up. On the screen. Which you could click.

Click and play. Yeah. Or it would go.

Or and rather. It would also go to your email. Address.

So that once you go in there. You can then download it. So it gives you the choice.

Basically it's a really good little service. And. I had thousands.

And thousands and thousands. Of downloads on there. And I was with them for.

Probably a few years. Because we didn't have. Much in our podcasts.

It was wasn't even a. During that period. They kind of sort of disappeared. They.

Became a little bit popular. Back in. 2007 2008.

Whatever those kind of times. 2009 maybe. And then they seem to disappear.

And then they came back. They came. They came back.

They really did. And I was pleased about that. Because I like podcasts.

So during that time. I was you know. Finding different ways.

To allow people to download. My audios. And then I found places.

Where I could stream. Soundcloud. Is a. Podcast host.

That I used. For a long time. Long long time.

Maybe over 10 years. And. I was able to.

Embed the player. Into my website. To stream.

I didn't start. Doing that until the internet. Was faster.

Because you know. There's a time when it would be. Pointless you'd be.

Well if he was. Watching naughty naughty. Looking for naughty pictures.

On the internet. You'd have to have. A really good imagination.

If you wanted to. You know. If you don't mind waiting outside.

For about 3 hours. Waiting outside. I started thinking about fish.

That's weird isn't it. The pictures just took so long to upload. Or download.

It was honestly. What's that. What's that.

TV show. Where they show a clip of a picture. A portion of a picture.

And you're supposed to guess what it is. It's on catchphrase I think. TV.

Family. Quiz show thing. It was a bit like that.

With adult. Pictures. Tiny little.

A little bit. Shown at a time. And.

You'd always avoid the beach ones. You know. Topless sunbathing on a beach.

But after about an hour. Of the sky. And then the next hour is.

The sea. And then. It's like.

No. Very slow. Especially the late 90s.

Even 2000 wasn't particularly. 2001. I was still doing dial up.

In 2004. I'm pretty sure 2005. Was broadband.

Yeah. I think so. Was I still doing dial up.

In 2004. No. I'm not sure.

Maybe. Can you hear me. Shut up.

I love you. I love you Audrey. Oh.

Oh. I'm trying to think. You know what I could do.

I could make some videos. On YouTube. But just.

The video could be me. Introducing. The audio.

So you see me at the beginning and then I could say you know this is Let Me Boy To Sleep 332 and this is when you can safely close your eyes and you know then I could say this recording is going to be talking about my various designer underpants that I've worn. So I've drifted off a bit there, I've drifted off, I went to sleep, yes so yeah I'm gonna look at this little light thing, it's quite a big light actually and just see where to go from there but I say what I could do is I lost complete, did I talk about underpants or something?

I fell asleep while I was talking and I started this sentence saying I could introduce the recording and then in my head I was saying I could turn around and say can I have some underpants or something I don't know very weird so yeah I think that's me done for now it's all getting a low battery on me iPad, I'll tell you something the Android, the Samsung Android, the battery on that thing is amazing absolutely amazing it lasts for days seriously it's ridiculous not if you use it but if you, Andre you really want my

attention I don't like hearing him when he's going I know he's only dreaming well hopefully I just want to wrap him up and put him out in the rubbish no I just want to give him a big cuddle and tell him it's gonna be okay you know lie to him I just want to, but he's, he's asleep anyway right I'm gonna go before I fall asleep proper thank you for listening please remember to be kind to yourself lots of love bye
