Welcome to jasonnewland.com My name is Jason Newland. This is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen when you can safely close your eyes.

Today is Friday the 18th of December 2020. And I'm sitting here watching boxing. It's on mute so you can't hear it.

But the fight that's being shown is so boring that I decided to make a podcast. It's not really taken my, or grabbed my attention or interest. But the headline is good.

It's Golovkin, Triple G, defending his middleweight title. He's defending against an unbeaten opponent, an up and coming, so that should be good. And it's on DAZN, which I actually get for free.

Believe it or not. So I was chosen to test the beta version of their app before they rolled it out. And I applied and they said, yeah, come on then, JJ.

So I think it was October, maybe a little bit earlier, when they had a few fights. And now they didn't have anything for a while. Now they've had a few more this month.

There's one tomorrow night as well, which is good. And then there's a couple, two or three in January. So yeah, it's cost me nothing.

But from the looks of it, they're charging only £1.99 a month. For people who do pay, which is really cheap. And yeah, considering they've got world title fights on and stuff.

On Sky, if I want to watch a world title fight, if it's box office, it can cost like £20, if not more. Sometimes £16, sometimes £25. So they're not that often.

But if it's, let's say it's a world title in America, then Sky might show it for the Sky customers, Sky Sports customers. And because I'm not a Sky Sports customer, I have to get a pass for the day, which is £10. I don't have to, but you know, if I want to watch it.

BT Sports is £25 a month for their app, which you can watch on telly as well, which is good, but £25 a month. And apart from last month, they generally, for me, don't have enough boxing on there to, I can't afford £25 a month. They don't do the day pass.

So it's weird. And also Fight is another app where you can watch boxing. So there's lots of different ways of watching it, especially the American fights, because most of the really big fights are in America.

For example, Errol Spence Jr. and Terrence Crawford and Canelo, although Canelo, I think he always fights in America. But you know, a lot of the really big fights are in America. In the middle of the night here.

So there's one tomorrow night, Canelo is fighting Callum Smith. Tomorrow. But it's going to be early hours of the morning Sunday for me.

But I'm getting it free because it's on the DAZN. DAZN it's called. So if there are any boxing fans, I know there's at least one boxing fan that listens to these podcasts.

Because he's contacted me and sold me. Then check out DAZN. It's pretty good.

You can download it to your phone. You can also download it to your TV as well. But you can download it to your phone and then just stream to your television.

Which is what I'm doing now and it's perfect. Perfect picture, perfect quality, perfection, personified. Practically.

Personably. With priority. To me.

Did I say only listen if you can safely close your eyes? And also if you don't mind being annoyed to sleep. Let me annoy you to sleep. Because some of the things I did, it's got to be annoying.

I want to be annoying. So yeah. Still.

Still trying to get my motivation back. I'm sure I used to be motivated. It's a weird one.

And I think it's a mixture of the month. It's, you know, certain things have happened in December in the past. And, you know, sort of, I don't know.

It's what's happening now as well. Or has happened in the last couple of weeks. It just gets a little bit.

I suppose it's. I've gone into. Pause mode, a little bit of pause.

But I did, I made a sleep hypnosis weekly, which was good. I mean, I don't know if it was good recording, but it was good that I did it for me. I felt quite good.

But. I've done very little this week. Regarding that and.

Hopefully I can get my. My mojo back working again. I don't know where it's gone.

It's kind of gone. It's gone. It seems to have gone.

I think my mojo has gone on holiday and it's just left me here. I'm just here. Well, let's have a look.

I had some messages. Where is it? Sounds like someone's about to knock on the door. I hope not.

I hope not. I had a message. Something's happened.

OK. To Facebook. The app on my phone doesn't work.

Properly. Apparently. There's some kind of European.

Internet thing going on. Which is stopping. Being able to see certain things.

So, yeah. I'm just having a look. Oh, it's not.

When I fall in love. It will be for a short time. OK.

So, yeah. I got a message and I can't find it. And I think it's because I'm looking on my phone.

If I looked on the iPad, I'd be able to find it. But the phone isn't bringing up the messages. Messages.

For some reason. Oh, dear. Oh, dear.

More rubbish from Sebastian. That's another person. I got this friend that leaves comments sometimes.

Sometimes they're funny. Sometimes they're just really... Really negative. He's a very negative person.

But he does it with humour. But he's at the same time really spiteful. And horrid.

Very horrid. Sometimes. Very horrid.

I had a really weird dream earlier. And it involved Jacksons. Michael Jackson.

And... I... I know why. Well, I don't know. I guess this is why I had the dream.

I saw a video of Michael Jackson. When he was in the Jackson Five. This is when he was alive.

And he was introducing his family. Including... Two of his sisters. His mum must have been knackered.

And... Then as they were about to sing or something. You hear this little yell. And it's Janet Jackson walks on.

She's about two years old. Giving it all the attitude. And... It was quite... I don't know.

Quite cute to see. The person edited the video. To comment on every facial expression that Michael Jackson made.

To... To like give a... Almost like a thought box. To what Michael Jackson was thinking. For some reason.

And all of it was just jealousy. Sort of... Because each of the... Each of the Jacksons would start talking. And they all had personalities.

Bubbly and Tito. Not Bubbly. Bubbly wasn't one of the boys.

But what was it? Jermaine. Tito. Herman.

Jackson. No, no. Jackson.

Jackson wouldn't be right with it. One of her names was Tito. See, I don't really know Jermaine.

Because he's... Why don't you... Do what you do. And you did what you did to me. Oh.

I love that song. And then of course there was Latoya Jackson. With her face.

And then there was Janet Jackson. With her nipple. Nipple gate or whatever that was in America.

But really... Other than Michael, Janet was the only one that... Was really hugely successful. Let's wait a while. Before it's too late.

Let's wait a while. Before we go too far. Ah.

Ah. Ah. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.

Love that song. That was what? About 1988. I think.

Let's wait a while. Before... What is the other one she did? I'm talking about back in the early days. I quite like the songs back in 1988.

I tell you what I did like was... What's her name? The daughter of... When I fall in love. It will be forever. Or I'll never fall in love.

Nat King Cole. What was his daughter's name? Shirley. Hillary.

It was an E wasn't it? Something E. Paul E. King Cole. Imagine being called Paul E. How are you doing today Paul E? Are you alright? What? I'm Paul E. I know you're Paul E, but how are you? I'm Paul E. Yeah, but how are you feeling? Especially if you're in hospital. The nurse is saying... How are you feeling Paul E? I'm Paul E. I know you're Paul E, I just said Paul E. Confusing.

Oh God, that was ridiculous. Natalie. Natalie King Cole.

She sung that song. What was it? It's weird. A little while.

Before it's too late. No, she didn't do that one. Get out of my dreams.

And into my car. No. I miss you like crazy.

That's it. I miss you like crazy. I miss you like crazy.

David, when you went away. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. I miss you like crazy.

I miss you like crazy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The thing is right.

I used to listen to that song. Or another one similar. I can't remember what it was called.

I miss you like crazy.

I think it was a different one that I really liked so look erm Miss you like crazy there was more I don't know why wow she's she's not alive anymore blimey I didn't know that she sold 30 million records worldwide film discography I want to know the singles the singles come on wow she started right her first album was 1975 blimpink heck so everlasting so that must be the album that I liked pink Cadillac track listing everlasting jump-start the urge to merge split decision when I fall in love pink Cadillac pink Cadillac so I miss

you like crazy see I don't know when that was then because it's not an album but that's not the song that I did like that I love that song but the one 1988 87 I live for your love I live for your love every minute I live for your love want you in it live for your love come and dig it live for your love yeah 1987 song Wow it's also the the second greatest hit from her album reached number 13 in America I live for your love is Cole's longest-running chart single so spent five

months only one spent five months in the charts her only bigger hit on the US adult contemporary chart was miss you like crazy which reached number one a year later oh I live for your love now I used to listen to that song and I'm I guess I must have had her album must have had her album and I used to listen to it in the evening and there was a particular place that I listened to it at and that was a place that I was living at that time and it was yeah so I

was living above the co-op supermarket when I turned 18 I got a job in a factory which had to be 18 to apply so I applied for that job got the job be there for probably not very long not very long at all in fact I got the job before I was 18 so 18 couldn't have been the age the reason oh yeah the reason because I got that job and then it was my 18th birthday shortly afterwards unless I think what happened is I got my 18th birthday and I was starting the new job

on the Monday something like that I don't know and I was given as a present tickets to go and see Michael Jackson in concert why I said my in concert wasn't gonna visit him to see him watching television and here Michael Jackson is brilliant I get to see him making spaghetti and I was going with my cousin and me aunt I was like wow you know I was a big Michael Jackson fan for a long long time afterwards as well as well as before at that time all I did was listen to Michael Jackson apart

from when I was doing other things and I decided not to go because it was in the week of my first week or my second week or whatever of working and I didn't want to ask for time off when I just started a new job so I turned them down and said look sorry I can't go I just I didn't want to I just don't want to do that they want to sell by the way I know I've only been there for three days but can I have a day off that just seemed rude so

I didn't go so I was at that job and I used to work at the co-op below with my manager used to work up at the co-op below as well but she lost her job but before that I was living with her upstairs I was rented a room it was a nice flat and yes pretty much the size of the supermarket so it was quite a nice place so I lived there with her for a few months I'd only been there probably I've been living with her for probably about a month maybe a little bit

more before she lost her job and then I left mine I'd had enough of it didn't like it and they brought in a new there might be in a few months actually but they brought in a new person a new manager I didn't really get on with well eventually we got evicted because she didn't I don't think she was paid any rent I was paying her rent or maybe I wasn't in the end so we got made evicted she got evicted and of course I had to go as well I found a room by I

had a job by then so it's okay found a room vaguely remember it vaguely and I wish I'd stayed there because not forever but you know wish I was still there no I don't but I seem to get itchy feet and used to get fed up living in places and want to move out and I do that quite a lot but while I was there it was the place is full of women or young females so all the rooms were women apart from me and the landlady was a woman as well and I gone okay

with everyone there and they'd all sort of say hello chat and stuff and I remember the landlady saying to me you know what Jason you actually you actually you're you're handsome when you smile maybe she said that to me I thought oh oh thanks you're handsome when you smile you should smile more often and I'll just growled so I was 18 how dare you I gotta be angry about something that was me back then and I don't know what it is but for something of some reason I wanted to move out of there and I

did and I moved into another place that was worse but this place it was okay I don't know why I wanted to move out of there it was an okay place but the it was the room was so small and back then I used to use talcum powder as part of my perfume kind of what you call it you know when I when I grew up we stuck grew up you know it wasn't just deodorant you also use talcum powder for the for the more swampy areas the swampy parts of your body and I just

yeah that's what I did and so I used to put talcum powder in my socks and in me you know other bits and I remember I used to use it so much and I because I was sharing a bathroom I didn't use to use it in the bathroom or use deodorant in the bathroom I'd wait till I got into my bedroom because I didn't think it was fair on other people well I was using it too much and I ended up with a really really bad cough because I was using too much of this talcum

powder it really got on my chest to the point where I needed to stop yeah 17 wins hmm so yeah I so I'm just watching the telly there is a lady on air she's defended her title her world title featherweight I think according to earlier I read she's been a champion for something like 12 years like wow she's got 17 wins one draw and she's fighting someone that's got about 11 defeats and that's amazing I suppose it's women's boxing at the moment that someone with 11 defeats could fight for a world title and part of

the reason for that is because there's not enough boxers to go around so yeah it's almost if you for those that are not interested as for as well as those are the light of the division are is the less boxers there are so you can fight if you become a professional at a really low weight like badminton weight or I mean balsa wood weight or whatever gravity weight you there's not many boxes to fight the kind of professional or any good or there's not many compared to the other weight divisions so you get an opportunity

to fight for world title a lot sooner than you would if you was heavyweight or middleweight especially if you're good I mean some fighters get a world title chance within like a couple of fights I mean blimey now with the women boxing because it's it's you know it's a lot it's behind the men's boxing by over a hundred years really I guess 200 years I don't know how long boxing's been around but in its current format has been around for thousands of years but in its current format I think like 1892 or something was kind

of the first it was around that time it's been around a while but women's boxing so seriously being taken serious is relatively new so there's not enough female boxers out there at the moment there's nowhere near as many as there are men but that's going to change man that's going to change and I reckon I got a theory that women's boxing will become as popular if not more popular than men's boxing within 20 years I've got a prediction that's what I think then we'll have to make some changes well you know change the rules a

little bit and but you know the women's they they only fight for two minute rounds and they don't I don't think they have I think they have 10 rounds they don't do 12 rounds so they might have to increase their roundage to get to the sort of be the equivalent to what men do I don't know I didn't knew I don't see why it's a different amount of minutes and really a two minute round is that's for someone that can't last for three minutes that's the point of a minute round when Tyson did his exhibition

fight the other day with Roy Jones Jr they had two minute rounds and now the internet fight is just frozen it's literally just frozen either that or they just decided to stop punching each other oh don't freeze oh it's back yeah I mean the reason Tyson Mike Tyson um had two minute rounds is because I don't think either of them could have gone for three minutes they were puffing and I mean I'm not I'm not mocking it because I don't know if I'd be able to last for 30 seconds running around especially not with uh

someone like Mike Tyson trying to punching me ribs in it's quite weird because Tyson didn't even try and hurt Roy Jones he made out he was going to he made out yeah I want to knock him out no he had no intention of knocking him out didn't even attempt to because he didn't even punch I think he punched him in the head once by accident he didn't go for his head if he had done he would have knocked him out because of just the power that he still has so there's a Chinese lady who's the

world champion and if you looked at her well I am looking at her if you you would not know she was a boxer not that you should know by looking at someone whether or not they're a boxer but she she just oh man I can't believe she wouldn't look at a place selling rats on sticks at the side of the road no this is wrong she's she's lovely it's rats on sticks delicacies so so I'm obsessed with them oh look see I'm hoping that this fight goes on the distance for the 10 rounds because otherwise

the main fight will be on because that's on next oh my god yeah Andre stop that it sounded like a car trying to start didn't it oh so when I was in this room I live for your love any minute I live for your love come on in it I live for your love I live for your love ha ha ha so I I think I might have been in love with someone but I don't know who so I was getting all romantic over some girl but I couldn't even tell you who it was I

don't remember now of course I don't remember every single female that I've liked over the years but I clearly must have had a real thing for her if I was getting all like ushy and gushy over songs but I can't remember I don't remember who who it was but it's a long time ago long long time ago when I was 18 years old it's quite a distance I do believe yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah the pictures got really bad which makes me think that more people are logging into the app and probably the more

people watching the boxing on the app the they might not have the juice to keep it going and working properly if they've suddenly got millions of people watching which they might have because apparently this is being shown in 200 countries so that's 200 countries that have the option to download the app and to watch it for a small amount of money a month so if that is the case then they may well have millions of people watching this right now however if it's going to keep freezing like that I don't think I'm going to want

to watch it because you know what I mean yeah you know what I mean you get it you understand you know what I mean I miss you like crazy I miss you like crazy see those those were the only two songs that I really liked of hers I mean there was others but you know miss you like crazy and I live for your love in fact I live for your love was just brilliant I live for your love any minute I live for your love put your foot in it so this stream Michael Jackson and

the family you know his brothers and stuff I think his sister as well were all involved this sister explained it yeah okay and it was very weird very very strange dream very strange it makes me wonder if I was doing the voices out loud when I was in bed I hope not but it's no way of knowing is that really no way of knowing it's yeah Friday again I don't feel like I've really done anything this week I have I went to town yesterday blimey I have my headphones on and me mask and I'm walking

into the bank to draw out some money I prefer to go in to the cash point machines inside than the ones outside oh this fight's about to get stopped yeah it's about to get stopped and what was I going to say oh yeah and so I just go in there all I'm doing is to go and draw out my last £20 or whatever that was in there and this lady this lady and I'm just walking in there minding my own business got me headphones on so I'm listening to music I can't hear anything that's going

on around me which is good suddenly this woman's in my face I said what I take the headphones off I said what I don't know if I said it like that I think I went hello sorry yes how can I help you and she said where are you going I said I'm going in there to do what I said what the fuck well you want to know exactly where I'm going do I need to tell you where I'm going before I go there she said no I need to know where you're going so that we

can err I don't know something about cleaning the machines or something I said I'm going to go into the cash point she said which one I said I don't know yet until I get there depends which ones empty which ones not being used and I put my headphones on and just walk away this is just annoying I know it's not her fault and it's just annoying though so I just want to go to the cash point machine and I shouted out oh by the way I was at this machine you need to clean it do

you want to know what numbers I used 7 3 4 5 7 3 4 5 those are the numbers so you can clean them 7 3 4 5 everyone come on man I'm a grumpy old man I'm turning into a grumpy old man and leave me alone I just want to draw some money out I've got the headphones on for a reason so I don't have to talk to anyone I'm walking down the street with my mask on still it's just it was just a a bit of a bleh experience generally and there's this homeless

lady that's been homeless forever she's only young 23 22 23 she's been selling a big issue since she was 16 apparently she's still doing it so it's not really helped her and she's I help her every now and then and I bought her food and stuff and bought her some shoes and I even bought presents for her kids last Christmas not even met her kids but just trying to help her out you know and she, so I saw her for the first time this year yesterday straight away got any money what I haven't got any

money I don't actually have any money sorry oh I need some breakfast cereal and some milk and bread are you getting my children presents again you did last year what like I know but I don't have any money I can't just do that and I nearly I gave her £10 ok so I did give her something and she still wanted more so I don't have any more and I thought about perhaps I should do this I don't know I can't do what I can't do and then I get home eventually I get home and what

lands on my armour a flea a flea it's been over a year since I last saw a flea in here and oh I know where it's come from it's from my friends dog so I was like ok but it's a case of he needs to sort his stuff out and I don't mess around with stuff like this I just went I phoned up the pet shop are you open, what time do you close we close in half an hour so I said ok I walk over there I buy two packs they're £10.

50 each something for two canisters of these flea bombs and you let them off the canisters you let them off in the room and then you have to leave the room for a period of time so I let one off in my bedroom one off in the living room in the hallway close the windows close the bedroom door open the kitchen and the bathroom door so that can go in there but make sure the windows are closed then close the living room door open the windows in here so that none of that toxic stuff can

get in near me or Andre I leave it for two hours for it to soak into everything and then I go and I open all the windows for another two hours and then I move into the bedroom I set two canisters in the living room because it's a bigger room and Andre spends more time in here and so do I so I set two canisters to really go full blast in this room close the windows leave the room bring Andre and his food and his water and everything into the bedroom and I close the bedroom

door and we stay in there for two hours and then I come in here open all the windows open the door let the door air circulate and then I go back into the bedroom close the door for another two or three hours and then we move back into the living room so it took a good eight hours if not longer to do the whole flat and from the looks of it they're gone and they did last time as well there was nothing left at the end of last time and Andre just had one on him

yesterday unlike last time when he was absolutely covered so this time he only had one that I could find so because I've really let let the those things off it would have also affected his bedding and all the other stuff so that that should be it I'm going to try and get some fleece stuff for him next week but as far as I'm aware it should be done, that's it for the flat, it should be covered and all cleaned out as it were but if the other person doesn't do their flat and their animal and

they come up here then it's just going to continue and I don't want that stuff up here I don't want fleas I didn't like them very much if I'm honest they're a bit a bit flea-y you know a bit makes my bum itch makes me go so I'm hoping I'm going to give Andre a bath at some point probably today or tomorrow tomorrow probably but I had to de-flee the place before I give him a bath otherwise because he he rubbed himself against everything in order to get dry and also to try and get some

dirt back because he likes being dirty even though he's not really dirty because of the oils in his skin but he doesn't like being wet, don't like it at all no in fact the likelihood is it he'll just get into my bed and dry himself off in my bedding on my bed which is what he does when he's all muddy from being out in the mud when he's been for a walk first thing he does he comes back and he jumps onto my bed dries himself on there he's so naughty seriously that's naughty isn't it

that's out of order isn't it very out of order it's out of order out out out of order yeah out out out of order yeah out of order yeah hello everybody day 18th day nineteen nearly literally monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday its exactly 7 days to christmas a week to christmas that right 23rd is Wednesday so 25th is Friday 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, yeah 7 days blimey 7 days til Christmas 7 days 7 days see tonight Friday the Friday before Christmas is among the busiest nights of the year normally it won't be

tonight I guess I mean January probably an average Friday night in January this year would be a lot busier than any other day since since like March or whatever but Friday the Friday before Christmas is technically I think called Black Friday that was the proper term for it no Black Friday has now been taken over by the shopping thing isn't it but the Friday before Christmas in nightclub land and pub land and you know is it's well known in in this country anyway it's well known for being hectic almost like there's a full moon when

they're often I guess isn't but it's something in the air on a Friday before Christmas a lot of that is to do with offices and companies have their even a Christmas party the Friday before or people who work together go out you know it's kind of maybe not a party but a night out drinking and that often be a Friday before Christmas because of the weekend to recover so all over the country people are going out with their colleagues work colleagues as well as just people generally going out as well I mean technically you could

say what about New Year's Eve that's busier in some ways yes but probably in other ways no it's definitely a busy night one of the busiest nights of the year but that's more of like everyone congregating in one place with Black Friday today in the evening it's a case of people a lot of people be drinking from early afternoon or late afternoon and all the way through to you know early hours of the morning Saturday and the amount of people when I was in the nightclub amount of people that I saw that pretty much lost

it lost their jobs at the Christmas party because he got drunk and decided to tell their boss what they thought of him or her which is never a good idea really and there's probably a lot of fun at the time for the person doing it maybe I reckon a lot I've got a lot of people must regret it oh by the way if you watched a film the other day called The Visit so if you haven't seen it check it out so it's a horror film but this is really clever really really good oh I

could see me having an early night tonight I'm probably gonna watch the boxing and have a sandwich to eat with a cup of tea watch the boxing and then probably go to bed yeah so that's it for me I can't even think of a title for this one it's almost I don't know it's hardly worth even put a title out for this I talk about something I don't know what so I'm gonna go thank you for listening to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy lots of bye
