Hello there and welcome there to let me bore you to sleep there. My website is jasonnewland.com there and my name is Jason Newland there. Hope you're okay there and hope you're enjoying your day there and I'll stop being so annoying now.
I'll stop. I'll leave it there. So I'm in a weird mode.
So, oh dear. Yeah. I hope you're okay.
Oh yeah, only listen when you can safely close your eyes. Now, I started doing two different versions of these let me bore you to sleep. One with and one without background music.
The one with background music lasts for a lot longer. So it's about two hours was over two hours and I think two hours and eight seconds. The reason I'm doing that really is it's not to annoy anyone.
But if people don't like the ones with music, then I guess don't listen to them. But at the same time, I don't you know, not doing it just for just for fun. I thought that some people may find the extra hour of music that continues after the recording because most of the recordings about an hour of me yabbering on about nothing at all.
I thought it might be nice to have another, you know, hour or 55 minutes or whatever it is after the recording completes to have some lovely music. That's the reason behind it. I have been doing the deep sleep whisper recordings both with and without music.
So two versions of those in the last month or so. I've also been doing the sleep hypnosis weekly, I do two different versions, one with and one without music. And I also do some of the long relaxation sessions that I have on my relaxation for relaxation hypnosis for stress and anxiety.
I do two versions of those quite often. Not always, because not all of the recordings I do for that podcast are are sort of relaxation sessions. Sometimes it's me talking about a subject.
And sometimes it's me doing, you know, going through a technique, a relaxation technique, like the one I did today earlier on, which was called negativity... I have to look it up. It's a word that's not in my normal vocabulary, if that makes sense. But let me have a look.
Where is it? Blimey. Okay, let me have a look. Relaxation.
Okay, so number 189 relaxation hypnosis for stress, anxiety and panic attacks, negativity, a fumigation. And that was the 28th of September 2020, which this is. So I did that about four or five hours ago, maybe a little bit earlier than that, maybe about five o'clock.
Yeah, so I've had 223 downloads so far of that one. But there's no background music. It's just that on its own.
It lasted about... I'm not really sure. Let me see if I do it sideways. 31 minutes, 37 seconds.
Okay. Now today, I'm quite interested... well, again, it's interesting to me. But the... yeah, I've had 5,379 downloads.
Yesterday, 5,830. So 5,379. There's still about an hour and a half left of the day for the stats to sort of, you know, complete, be completed.
But that's pretty good. It's heading towards the 6,000 a day average, which I think is quite nice. In here.
Hmm. Don't you think? Ah, that's weird. September 20th, September 29th.
No, that's not good. Okay, I got you. So really, since the... What day is it? Is this Monday? No, 27th.
What's going on? Okay, got you. Monday, Sunday, Saturday, Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday. So basically, in the last week, yeah, it's been a good week.
It's been a good week. But 1, 2, 3, 4. 1, 2, 3, 4. Four days out of the seven, we've got above 5,000. And the other, the other three days.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Anyway, yes, I'm losing track. I'm trying to keep, trying to like, you know what I mean? But you don't get me. You can't, you know, and then things change, and I just don't know.
I don't know where I am anymore. So yeah, it's, I had a bit of a flat moment for about half hour just now, and then suddenly I'm kind of up again. I don't know why.
It's quite fresh in here. I turned the heating off because it was getting a bit too warm. And now, it's not cold, but I can, I've got a t-shirt on, and I can feel, I can feel a little bit nippy.
I feel just a little bit, a little bit chippy. Chippy? Nippy? Chilly? Chilly? Not chilly, but a little bit. A little bit.
Oh, cool, you know? Cool. So yeah, I feel like my voice goes away, and then it comes back again like this, when I'm on the headphones. And it's literally just me turning my voice, turning my voice, turning my head, and now I'm back again.
So I don't know if that's the same on the recording. I opened a can of coke earlier, and the lid didn't open. Do you ever done that when you pull it? You know, the little metal ring thing? Didn't open.
It just didn't open. Now, I just thought, oh, what should I do? So I got a big knife, and I pushed down on the knife, and eventually managed to open it up, and I got another, like a kitchen, like a normal knife you eat with, and managed to push it up a little bit. Because I thought to myself, you know what? You know what? I am not going to lose that can of coke.
I got very angry. Oh dear, I don't know what I'm on about. What am I on about? So, so far, stats 1,847,619 since November two years ago.
So, as we're getting towards October now, two more days till October, I'm just kind of interested to see what it's going to be by the November. What it's going to be, so 30, I reckon it's going to be at least 1.2 million. 1.2 million, what am I on about? 1,847,000.
So it's going to be heading towards the 1.9 million. I'm not sure if I can get the 2 million, but the chances of me getting 163,000 downloads in a month and a half. Oh, wait a minute, 164, 163.
Yeah, that's a point. Oh yeah, it's very possible, isn't it? Because October, let's say I get 140,000 in October, 140,000. And then another, let's say 35, 40,000 a week.
So let's say another 70, 140 plus 70. That's 140, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 200, 210. Yeah, I did count on my fingers.
What's it to you? I, yeah, so I should actually quite easily reach the 2 million within two years by the time I get to the 20, I think the 24th of November is when I first started using Spreaker, which is not the first time I used it in the past as well. And I think I had, you know, a few hundred thousand, in previous podcasts and stuff. But this is the first time that I've stayed.
It's not the first, what am I talking about? It's not the first time. It's not. It's not the first time I've stayed with just one podcast host for two years, because I used to be with SoundCloud for a long, long, long time.
But it's definitely the most downloads for having been with just one podcast host, even though I've got, you know, quite a few different podcasts. But to have the 2 million, that's quite groovy, I think, because it's working out probably about 35,000 a week. So 3, 6, 9, 12.
I mean, Andre, shush. Last month, about 138,000 or 139,000 downloads in August. September so far, I'm heading towards probably about the same, about 138,000.
October, what I'm probably going to do is put a little bit more effort in and maybe try and get it to maybe 200,000 in October. How many do I need to get to get 200,000? So 10,000 a day is 300,000 a month. So actually, I think what it is, is now that it's grown, especially more so the end of the month, next month, it just naturally will be higher.
So what do you mean this is boring? It's supposed to be boring. Okay, fair enough. So if I say 5,000 minimum a day, 5,000 minimum times by 30, that's 150,000.
So that's not enough. So I need to go 6,000 minimum, which is 180,000 a month. So if I go 6,500, 195, come on, give me something.
6,600. 190, really? 6,700 times by 30. 6,650 times by 30.
6,660 times by 30. 6,670 times by 30. 6,665 times by 30, which is 199,950.
So you're looking at kind of, let's say 6,600. To be safe, 700. 6,700 times by 30, it's just over, it's 201,000.
So 6,700, it's doable. So that's going to be my target for October. It's going to be my target, which would be cool.
So if I can do that, it's just a personal thing, you know, just a personal, and I want to head towards the 10,000. I'm headed there, but it's just going too slow for me. It's just like, I thought I should have been there by now.
I actually won't, this is totally true. I was expecting to get to 10,000 a day downloads by the end of last year. And now I really got below 5,000, really, if you average it out.
How do you do an average? Isn't an average where you do the number. So if it's a month, the number divided by 30, or another divided by 30 times by 100 or something. So the overall number divided by 30 times, I think it is.
I used to do this at work when I was doing sales. So let's, let's work out 5,000. So let's say there's 5,000.
So it's the overall amount. So let's say I've done 150,000 for the month. Okay, I'm gonna do it even so I know exactly what it is at the start.
So it could, so it could be like 138, 192 or whatever. So 150 divide that by 30 equals 5,000 times it by 100. Okay, 5,000.
I'm sorry, 150,000. 150,000 divided by 100 equals times by 30. I don't know.
I don't know. I do know that 5,000 a day is 1.8 million a year. But why is it so complicated? I don't understand.
It doesn't make sense to me. No, I don't get it. Well, I cancelled my shopping delivery this week because I'm running out of money.
Everything's, you know, those weeks where everything kind of goes out at the same time. Everybody wants your money at the same time. That's kind of what's happened.
I've got, I actually added it all up. Should I tell you? Seriously, let me tell you all about my finances. Oh, before I do that, Andre has been very naughty, which is just a little bit annoying because he's been so good lately.
He's been a really good boy. He seems quite happy and really playful as well with me. So I took him out for a walk this evening and we walked to the park and then we, you know, he was just walking along, nothing, nothing major.
And this isn't really part of him being naughty this bit. But, oh yeah, it is. Before, as we're walking into the park, that's when he was naughty.
A cat came up and it's a cat that, you know, I see now and then. It's just, it's not a kitten, but it's young. It's a young cat.
It's adult size, but it's, I don't know, you can tell, can't you? It's a young, young pussy cat. So I think I know where it lives as well, or he or she, I'm not sure. And very friendly, very friendly, but follows me around the park sometimes when I'm with Andre.
Now, for some reason, normally Andre ignores cats, ignores dogs, unless the dog looks like it's, you know, barking at him, he might, he might look over. But this cat was just there, came through the bushes. Andre ran at it.
Now I had my extension lead, so he was just, he ran like proper. He doesn't hardly ever run for anything. He just plods along.
He proper, and I thought, okay, this is a bit weird. So I stop him and pull him back and he runs for it again. And he keeps trying to get away from me to get to the cat.
Very, very strange behavior. I've never seen him do that before. I mean, the cat didn't attack him, wasn't hissing at him or anything like that.
And the thing is, if he did ever like a punch up with a cat, the cat, the only advantage a cat's got, two advantages is obviously big old teeth they've got, but it's the surprise, you know, a cat could like get him from behind because he's completely oblivious when he's walking around. At least I thought he was. But face on, he's quite a formidable force because he's so strong.
His jaw is really strong. Plus he doesn't play. He just, you know, he goes in, he's really rough.
He's so cute and cuddly. But when he gets into a punch up, he's really, really a bit over the top. As he's taken on dogs in the past, attack dogs.
It's ridiculous considering he's so tiny. He's retorted, but to a friend about like little man syndrome. He hasn't got little man syndrome.
He just, he kind of has and he hasn't. He doesn't know he's little. He genuinely does not, he's not aware that he's tiny.
And he would take on anyone, dog. I think he'd even face up against a bear or a lion. He's just not scared of anything.
He doesn't realize that the bear and the lion probably wouldn't even be able to see him because he's so tiny. Probably think he was a fly. But he was really going, it was like Scrappy Doo.
Do you remember Scrappy Doo? Let me at him, let me at him. That's what he was doing. And I didn't know why.
I couldn't understand it. And then the cat went behind through the railings into the school. And Andre was trying to get through the railings to get at him.
He was really, you know, if I, um, if I didn't, if I hadn't had him on a lead, he'd have been right in there. And I don't know what his intention was, but he was, maybe he was in a mood, you know, maybe there's something going on with him. Maybe he's got a bit of a, I don't know.
He seems okay. He seems really chilled out and relaxed. He's not been scratching at the door to go out or anything like that.
He's not on heat. You know, it's not, he's, I mean, he's still spending time with his girlfriend probably two, three, maybe four times a day. It's a regular thing, you know, but this isn't his mating season, I don't think.
Not in autumn. So I don't know. Very, I didn't quite, I didn't really like it.
Now it's different if the cat had attacked him or like squaring up and like, you know, of course I still would have stopped him from getting involved, but I would have thought, yeah, good for you. You're standing up for yourself. Great.
But this is a lovely little cat. And there's a couple of cats that do seem to eye him up and they're a little bit sneaky and one did run at him once, but he was oblivious. He went back to the cat and he was, so I had to shoo the cat away.
Now, if Andre had had his face towards the cat, mind you, the cat probably wouldn't have done anything because cats, they're, they're really sneaky aren't they? They're more sneaky up. Even, even lions, they're not, lions aren't brave are they? They sneak up on something that can't defend itself and then eats it and, you know, catches it. They're not brave.
They will if they have to, but they don't like to fight for their food. They like to catch it from behind because they're cowards. Lions, cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz.
But I like cats. Cats are cute and I don't want my cat lovers getting, dear Jason, I've been listening to you for two, two years and I thought you was all right. I did.
I thought you was okay, but now, I'm okay with, cats are cool. I, I was nearly adopted by a cat in the last place I lived. I lived in the basement, the smelly, dirty, mouldy basement that I lived in.
And I used to leave the window open because I had to, just to get air in there. And this cat, and I think it was an orphan, I do, really, it was like a kitten. It wasn't a kitten, but it was little.
It was, yeah, it was a little cat and it kept coming and meowing and like patting on the window, tapping the window. And one day it just came in, came into my room, sat down, climbed on me, and I didn't have any food to give it. And I thought about, you know, I could have done, a glass, a cup of milk, not a cup, they can't, they can't, they don't, can't hold handles, can they? I got, you know, a little bowl of milk.
I could have gone to the shop, which is just up the road, got some cat food. Obviously these days I've got, I've got loads of cat food because Andre eats it, but there'd be no point, I couldn't have a cat in here, because Andre, I think the only, if, I think the cat would have to be an adult cat and Andre would have to be a baby. I think a ferret would then, the cat would take control and the cat would have to be the boss of the ferret.
And as the, as the ferret got older, the cat, they'd have respect and they'd live together and probably cuddle each other and love each other. Unfortunately ferrets, well Andre anyway, especially the way he lives his life, he wants to be in charge. He wants to be in control.
He thinks he is. And I think because I don't keep him in a cage, he doesn't feel, um, I don't know, he doesn't, he doesn't feel caged. He doesn't feel locked in.
He doesn't feel like he's, um, I'm doing him a favour when I let him out of the cage for an hour to run around. He's used to just doing whatever he wants, sleeping wherever he wants and having a full reign of the entire, my home, every room. And I don't want to take that away from him.
That's what I always wanted for him when he first moved in here. But he was too naughty. So I did keep him in a cage.
But the last year, I didn't keep him in a cage just at night when I was asleep. But the last year he's, apart from a little period when he was continuously scratching the front door in the middle of the night to get out. I kept him in the cage there for a few nights.
Other than that, he's out all the time. Doesn't bother me. I mean, sometimes he come and bite me and stuff when I'm asleep.
Slap me in the face, just lick my face. And he just, I think he wants attention. Wants me to, wants me to wake up.
But for what reason? I mean, sometimes it will be for food. I think earlier I was asleep during the day and I heard a banging, like I didn't know what it was. And it was being, he was banging his tin, his little, his bowl where his food goes.
He was banging it. So he wanted me to get him food. So what on earth was that? He's in the hallway doing something.
I don't know what he's doing. Who knows? It's always up to something. Always up to something.
So yeah, I wasn't really impressed with him going into attack mode to that cat. Cause I like that cat. It's my favorite cat actually.
Because it always comes up to me, even when I'm not with Andre, it will come up to me and like, have a cuddle. Like, you know, he likes me, the cat. And I, I personally, I don't know.
I'm not, I'm not a cat person or a dog person. I'm a thera person now, I think it's pretty safe to say. But you know what? There's some, I think there's a privilege.
I feel privileged when a cat wants to come and see me and likes me, shows me affection because cats are fussy. Dogs couldn't be less fussy. I think, not all dogs obviously, but you can't generalize, but you know, a lot of dogs I've ever met absolutely love the attention.
And to be fair, Andre's the same. He doesn't crave it, but you don't half enjoy it when he's in the mood, especially if it's little kids or if it's women or basically anyone but me, he just, he loves it. So if we're in the park and there's a family there and the kids are going, oh, can we go and see the ferret mommy? So there you go.
And I'm pretty sure they'd happily be taken away, happily go home with them, which you generally couldn't do with a dog. You could if you knew the person, you know, if the dog knew you, but if you, I think if you had a dog, if you just picked, let's say a dog was left outside a supermarket while the person, the owner was inside getting some shopping. And then some complete random stranger walks up, takes the lead and walks off with a dog.
Now a lot of dogs, well, some dogs might just do it because they just, they assume if you're friendly with them that they must, I don't know. I don't know. I've got no research on this one, but I'm sure there's plenty of dogs would not want to go off with a stranger, with a strange person who they don't know because of the attachment they have with the person they live with.
And I'm pretty sure that attachment is less if they live in a house full of different people. They can have probably one person that they're the most attached to. That person might be the person that feeds them, because dogs, you know, they love the person that feeds them, don't they? A bit like humans.
Oh, he's let off a stink. Oh, man. When I say he's let off a stink, I don't mean he's farted.
I mean, it's like a gland thing. And it's like, oh, so maybe he's got a bit of hormones raging about something or I don't know. I mean, I don't think he's upset about anything.
There's nothing, there's nothing happened that I can think of that's upsetting because he does let off his stink when he's upset. Unless I'm just not giving him enough attention right now, because he's playing in the hallway and perhaps he wants me to go out there and play with him. Because sometimes when he wants that, he makes lots and lots of noise until I go out to tell him off.
And he starts running around and biting my feet. Well, not my feet, but my shoes. It would be my feet if he could.
The new thing we're doing is he's got this tennis ball, but it's a little tennis ball that he's actually completely destroyed. But he can bite it and he can play around with it. So what I do is I kick it around and he chases it, just like a dog.
Anyway, here's a story. So he did that with a cat. The cat's fine.
I would never let Andre get into a scruffle, puffle, fight, punch up, whatever, with any animal ever, regardless of any situation. I'd do my best to make sure that he never got into that situation. If an animal attacked him, I'd have to deal with that.
I've already taken him out. I've removed him from a dog's mouth once. And I would do it again if I had to.
And I don't care what kind of dog it is. I don't know dogs strong enough to stop me from getting Andre's Emma out of his mouth. Trust me, not one dog on the planet I would remove.
I'd remove that dog. I'd get him out. But, you know, hopefully it never happened because I'm very, very vigilant.
I've always got my eyes open because a lot of dog walkers don't have their dogs on the lead because they will think, oh, my dog's well behaved. Until your dog sees a little furry ferret running around with a stink, which I can't really smell, but dogs probably really can smell it. Some dogs go absolutely crazy when he's around.
Now, their mentality is probably, well, what you do walking around with a ferret, you know, that might be their mentality. Or their mentality might be, well, tough if he, you know, if my dog attacks your ferret tough. Ah, not really.
This doesn't work like that. So, I have to lift him up really quickly if there's a dog off the lead. Unless I know the dog.
There's a few dogs that are just really chilled out and they're not interested in him. But some really, really, you know. And if the owner's struggling with the dog, I just pick on the app and I say, look, it's fine.
You know, just leave him off the lead, whatever you want to do. I'll hold him until I get to the other part of the park. Because, you know, I'll try and be as accommodating as possible.
But, yeah, I just have to look after him. But he's just such a little rascal though. I mean, he's bitten at least three dogs that I can remember.
We had a neighbor that had a dog and he bit the dog on the nose. And it was, what was it? Not a Rottweiler. What's the ones that really, the ones that people use for security? Andre Schock.
Not Bull Terrier. Not Rottweiler. Not Lamborghini.
That'd be wrong. I'll have to look it up. Let's have a look and see if I've got a thing for best security dogs.
I'm going to think about it. As soon as I put it in, it's going to, I'm going to, Doberman. Yeah, it was a Doberman that this person had.
And Andre bit it on its nose. I mean, it's one thing you don't do a Doberman, you do not bite it on its nose. It was just, Andre, what are you doing? He's just, he's a troublemaker.
He is a troublemaker. And I have to, I have to watch him all the time when we're out. Like right now.
Where is he? So right now he's over there being naughty with some paper. Just how, how can I make some noise in here while I've got some paper? I know I'll jump on it. I keep jumping on it.
Andre, where are you? Andre? Do you want to cuddle? Do you want to cuddle? What's that? I just grabbed him. Hello. I'll put his face near the microphone.
What's that? All I'm doing is holding him and he makes such a fuss. I'm not hurting him. I'm just holding him in one place.
And look, I'll do it again. All I'm doing is holding him. I'm not hurting him.
I'm just holding him. He hates what he does. He doesn't like it.
Say hello. Say hello. Blimey, you're such a little baby.
So he doesn't want to get down. He just wants to face me so he can see me. Why are you being so weird? To be fair, was I being a weird one? I suppose putting a ferret near a microphone is probably a weird thing to do, I guess.
Hello, darling. Hey, I just wanted to give you the opportunity to say hello to all your fans out there. Everybody loves you, apart from the cat lovers now.
I mean, for all I know, he might have just been really excited and he wanted to go and play with a cat. You know, that could have been all it was. Is that what it was? Hmm? It's probably just as well that I can't sort of read his mind because I think we might fall out if I knew what he was actually thinking and it was just a case of get off me, get me my food, have a bath.
You know, he might be really rude inside. He might not be as loving as I think he is. Huh? He might not be.
You are so beautiful though. I don't know what it is about him. Even now, like five years later, five years later, it's just his face is the... It's just so cute.
And sometimes when he's sitting, when he's standing up and he looks up at me, he still looks like that little baby that I first knew. He's still got that little, you know, his eyes are wide and he still, he just looks the same. You still look the same.
Give daddy kisses. You want to get down? All right then. Say goodbye to everyone.
Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Okay.
Okay. You go. See ya.
Honestly, he just shook himself off like, oh, I've got to get rid of that dirt. Oh, that was horrible. It's like, come on, mate.
Be nice. I've got a couple of messages. A little bit late to read them out really, because I haven't... Anyone that's listening may have fallen asleep by now.
Message from Vanessa. Don't worry about the background noise. I like hearing your world.
I'm in bed listening to number 505. You and Andre are a part of my night. I enjoy hearing about your day, your food orders, going for walks and such.
I just love listening to you. You are just what I need. Thank you and I do appreciate you.
Much love sent from Canada. Thank you. Hugs and cuddles for Andre.
Thank you, Vanessa. Molly Rose sends her love as well. Rachel just sent me a message.
She said, do you know two Rachels? I'll do it in her voice. I'll do it in her voice. This is Rachel, because I've spoken to her.
Do you know two Rachels? That was confusedy-o today. And when you was talking about a message from Rachel. Well, no, I don't know.
Rachel, I honestly don't know of which you are referring, because I don't keep track of what I've said. And I genuinely, I know it might sound like, well, surely you should remember what you said, but I don't remember much of what I've talked about. I mean, I genuinely, right.
So if I finish this recording, I will finish it. So when I finish this recording and I upload it in its normal, it's just general form, how it is now, then I go back into it to edit it. But before I do that, I give it a name.
So I copy the previous day's title from the podcast. I'll rename it as, I'll basically paste that in. I'll put unedited at the end.
So I know it's an unedited version. I'll change the date to the correct date for now. So today will be the 28th, Monday, 28th of September 2020, 2020, 2020.
I changed the number. So this would be number 506, I think. And then I go and I delete the title and I go to put a new title in.
Now that's, it sometimes takes maybe a minute or two to upload from the app that I'm recording on to the, to the cloud or the, I don't know where it's stored, but wherever it's uploaded to. So it's downloaded. It's, yeah, downloaded, not uploaded, downloaded.
We're talking maybe a minute or two. And in that time, I've forgotten what I've talked about. Generally, I have to think back.
It's like, okay, what did I talk about in the last hour, sometimes longer? I talked about, I talked about something. What was it? Did I talk about, like in this recording, okay, it's probably a good idea to think of a title while I'm actually making the recording. So I could say Andre attacks a cat, but he didn't really attack a cat.
Andre becomes feral. Andre's a naughty boy. Yeah, maybe.
Something like that. And you see what I mean? So I also make these recordings nearly every day. I have periods when I don't.
I haven't had too many of those periods where I go too long without making a recording. But I, what do I do? I had, I think June, September, I've probably done about 25 recordings so far out of 28 days. So I've only missed maybe three, maybe four out of the whole month.
So, you know, I can't remember. That's, that's a lot of hours. It's a lot of hours of stuff.
So I don't remember what I've said necessarily. Yeah, so sorry, Rachel, I can't remember. I do have more than one, Rachel.
I know what you're talking about. I know what you're talking about now, Rachel. I do apologize.
Well, I'm not sorry. I'm not. Yeah, why not apologize? Nothing wrong with apologizing.
I do apologize. I now know what I mean. Rachel, that was about something else.
Having sessions for negative thinking and stuff like that. Thoughts and stuff. So that was a different Rachel.
I do, now Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, Rachel, Rachel. You're, and you know who I'm talking to, Rachel. You don't, it could be, it might be about six different Rachels that are listening and thinking, yeah, I know who you're talking to.
It's me. I'm the one. But anyway, yeah, it was a different Rachel.
So there you go. I only just remembered. And the reason I remembered is because I did a recording today, which was partly because of what the other Rachel asked me to do.
And that was the negative, um, I forget the name, not pacifier. I don't know. Don't ask me.
How should I know what it is? I do. And I've got a message. I got a message from Patrick four hours ago.
I'm the one who listens to your podcasts every night by unsubscribed because of the annoying loud ads. Can, how can you remove them or so your voices soothes me to sleep? Well, Patrick, um, that's four hours ago. Okay.
Well, if you've unsubscribed, you might not be listening to this. And I can't be bothered to reply. And so you're probably not going to hear this.
Or no, I will reply. I just, my reply to that is this. I don't care.
And you can download all of my recordings, free from adverts, from adverts. And so that's one way. Another way is, again, going back to Rachel, she told me this.
If you're on Spotify, I think if you're a member, you don't get adverts, but I'll just leave that. You can down all my recordings available to download on my website. So I like that.
I'm the one. I'm the one. I'm the only one.
I'm the one who listens to your podcast every night. And you're not the only one. I do appreciate you listening.
I do. And telling me I've got a soothing voice. Groovy.
Thank you. I do appreciate that. But the annoying loud ads, to be fair, I've read, I've increased the volume of my podcasts, which should make a big difference to how it used to be, where my, you know, I was really quiet, and suddenly, like that for the adverts.
Now, might be a little bit louder, but it's definitely much more in the same ballpark, volume wise. So I've worked really hard to get that sorted. And running this service is expensive.
And not just from a time perspective, but just the equipment I'm using right now to make this podcast and all the different podcasts I make, I've got over 2000 pounds worth of equipment here. So I'm still paying off the iPad. And I'll be paying that off for the next three and a half years.
So you know, it's an expensive little investment. But it's the top of the range iPad Pro, thingy big, whatever. But it has improved the sound quality.
I've got a really good microphone, I've got a mixer. And as well as that, I've got software paid for in order to make the recordings. I that's, you know, that's the investment I've made for just in order to make the recordings.
There's the ongoing costs of the podcast. There's the ongoing costs of the website. There's the ongoing costs of paying back the money that I've, you know, for, for example, this shed, and for other items that I purchased in order to provide this service, which I'm still paying for.
So, okay, and that's without the huge amount of time I've put in to doing it. And I'm not saying that in the sense of poor me, because I choose to do it and I want to. But, you know, the adverts are going to stay.
And I realize, well, no one likes adverts, do they? Come on. I don't think anyone's ever sort of dribbled at the odds. Oh, is that adverts coming on? I'm so excited.
But that's what pays for this to be a free service. So there you go. That's, that's where we are with that.
And if anyone's been listening to me for a while, you know that I've gone backward and forward with this many times. And it's almost been heartbreaking to be fair. It's really difficult trying to please everybody.
And I can't, I've had to accept that I can't please everybody. And those that want to listen will listen, those that don't won't. And, you know, that's, that's it.
Plus, probably unlike most people that do do this, I've got a website which is devoted to offering you the opportunity to download. At this moment, you can download all of them for free. You don't even have to pay for them.
They're free to download, advert free, keep them forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. That may not always be the case. They may cost at some point in the future, but at the moment they're free and have been free for the last 14 years since I've been doing this.
So yeah, another way without adverts is you can listen on YouTube. There's no adverts on the YouTube channel. Well if there is, there shouldn't be because I'm not making any money out of it.
So you can listen on YouTube. So that's another way, all my recordings I upload to my YouTube channel. It's just in a format, basically just a picture and there's a link.
It's just, it's the podcast converted into a video. It's not like great, there's nothing wonderful to look at, but still you can hear me and there's no adverts. Although someone did moan about the podcast on YouTube, about the adverts.
Yeah, but if you listen on YouTube, there's no adverts. Or if you download from my website, there's no adverts and the downloads doesn't take long. It's you know, if you log in, become a member as well, it's even quicker because your details are all saved.
Your email address and all that stuff's all saved in there. So if you log in, you can literally download every single episode from the website directly to your email account and then just open them up and that's it. You've got them.
Thousands of hours worth of recordings all there for free at the moment. At the moment. Yeah, when I decide to build my empire, I might start charging thousands of pounds per episode.
Can you imagine? I wouldn't sell one in a hundred years. So it's free. There's adverts and you know what? Some podcasts put adverts on even if I didn't have adverts, they still have adverts on in order to cover their costs of running a free podcast.
All this means is the adverts revenue gets split between me and the podcast host. So the podcast host, I'm guessing for example, Spotify, I'm guessing, I don't know exactly, but I'm sure a percentage of the advert revenue goes to Spotify. A percentage goes to Spreaker, who provides my podcast host and a percentage goes to me.
So Spotify and all the other podcast hosts, they need adverts for those that aren't paying for the service. So for those that aren't a member of Spotify or that aren't paying to be on Stitcher, aren't paying to listen to that, or I mean a lot of the tunings and other one, I think there's a lot of the podcast hosts and now, or directories or providers, whatever you want to call them. A lot of them are now offering people a chance to join, to be a member so you don't have adverts.
And so the fact is you're going to end up having adverts anyway. So isn't it better for me to have adverts, for you to have adverts and help to cover the costs of this service? And you can, and maybe I need to look into this to find out the exact details, but you can set a timer and do it so you only listen to one recording. So you have the adverts at the beginning for 30 seconds or a minute, something like that.
And then you can set the timer so that the, or set it so that that's the only podcast that plays. That's the only episode that plays because I don't have adverts at the end of my podcast. I don't have adverts in the middle or anything like that.
Like a lot of podcasts will have, you know, I could, that's ridiculous how many I could actually have. I could probably have, in the minimum usually is three different advert slots, which would mean, yeah, things would be quite good for me. If I had three advert slots per episode, it would treble the amount of revenue that I could have coming in.
But I don't, because first of all, it wouldn't work. How could you have a relaxation or sleep session and have adverts in the middle? And also the reason I don't have them at the end is for the same reason, because I don't want to jolt people out of where they are. So the main thing is, what I would say is if you want to listen to one after another recordings, then download it, download them, stick it in a playlist on your laptop or on your phone or on your iPad, put them in a playlist so you can listen to one after another, you know, all night long, if that's what you want.
So there are solutions. They're not, I don't think they're majorly difficult solutions. Maybe a little bit annoying to have to, you know, make an effort, but it's probably worth it.
I probably get annoyed having to do something new. What do you mean I have to do? But it may be worth it. You know, I like listening to podcasts and there's just different ways of doing it.
It's different ways of listening. You can download them. You can, you know, sometimes you can do different things.
I think with some podcasts or iTunes and that, you can listen, you can download stuff. As long as you pay, you know, the monthly fee, you can listen offline. But as soon as you stop paying, all those episodes and music is no longer available.
I do, I'm with iTunes. I do like iTunes quite a lot, though I haven't listened recently. It's just been very, very busy, very busy.
So another thing I was going to talk about. Blimey. So, yeah, thanks for the message.
I replied. Just, you know, you can listen on my, you can download or just listen to one recording because it also has another thing. You can go to my website, you can download it.
Or you can, if you go to the individual page, you can listen to it with the advert at the beginning and then a recording and it will just come to an end. There'll be nothing afterwards. So you can listen to just the one episode without being woken up at the end or anything like that.
And just the advert at the beginning. That's it. Or you can download it for free.
So I think, um, yeah, I think that's fair. I think it's fair. Yeah, I think it's fair.
When you consider, I've tried to make as many different options as possible to help people out. So I hope that that's okay. Here's another thing that happened today.
When I was in the park, I saw a man walking, an elderly man, and he didn't look. He just looked out of place and I didn't know why. I didn't know why.
And so as he got closer, I asked him if he was okay. I said, good evening. And he said, hmm.
I said, are you okay? He said, no. I said, you're all right. And he said, I'm lost.
Well, I said, you look lost or something. He said, I am. And I thought, oh.
And he'd, basically it was the first time he'd been out on his own for three years since he'd been ill. And he goes around, he says he goes out with his wife every day, but he needed a bit of space, a bit of time on his own. So he went for a walk on his own and he got lost.
And it was dark, so he didn't really recognize the different places. And maybe his eyesight wasn't too great. I don't know.
But he was quite unwell and I was worried about him. And so I walked him home. And it was quite funny because near the end, he was like, yeah, thanks and bye.
I was trying to walk off. I said, no, I'm walking with you. I don't know if he thought I was up to no good.
I don't know. But after what he told me about his health, I thought it was very important to make sure he got home to his wife so that he could be, because he's already said that he wasn't feeling very well. I was like, okay.
But yeah, he's all right now. He got home. But I was just a little bit like, oh, come on, what's going on? Yeah.
So I'm going to go. Thank you very much for listening. Remember to be kind to yourself because you deserve to be happy.
Lots of love. Bye.
