Hello, welcome to jasonnewland.com. My name's Jason Newland. This is Let Me Bore You To Sleep. Please only listen and you can safely close your eyes.

And I'm sitting here with the most beautiful little ferret in the whole wide world, aren't I? He's giving me big, big cuddles. He's been asleep on my bed pretty much all day, haven't you? He's been, yes, he's been enjoying my bed. Okay, our bed.

You've been enjoying our bed, haven't you? It's kind of weird because he's not even hassled me to take him out. He seems to seem quite happy just to, I guess, just have a pajama day, I think, probably you could call it. Haven't you, Andrew? Just a lazy day.

Do you hear what he said? He just said, yes, every day's a lazy day for you, isn't it, Daddy? I love you. I love you. Do you want to get inside my jacket, inside my coat? No, you don't.

All right, you don't have to. You want to get down? You're so cute. You're so cute.

What are you doing? Okay, you want to get down? I'm just going to have some water. So, this is Wednesday, no, Tuesday, the 1st of March, no, March, September. 1st of September, 2020.

I don't know what he's doing. I think he's a little bit restless. So, yeah, before we go any further, I just want to thank Molly for her kind words and a message.

That was weird. He just made a really strange sound. Oh, my headphones are being sent, so they should get here tomorrow.

Yeah, before I go, I just want to say thank you to Molly. It was in response to concerning the adverts. The adverts are only on the beginning of the recording.

They're not on, they don't interrupt the recording through, you know, they don't start and come on in the middle of the recording. And they don't come in at the end of the recording. It's just very at the beginning.

But they are at the beginning of each recording. So if you let things continue to play, you may hear the adverts again. However, you can download all of my recordings on our website.

So that's groovy, if it's groovy. If it isn't, then it isn't. But I think it's quite nice.

Now today, for some reason, it's been quite a busy. Yeah, I've had a busy day today. Sort of for various different ways.

So stats wise, it's not over yet, but I've had 6,652 downloads. So far today, which is pretty good. You know, I'm aiming for the 10,000 a day, which will come just yesterday, I had 6,158.

Sunday, I had 4,109. But it's a weekend, so it's always a little bit lower, or a little bit lower. But the one that's really, really seems to have the most is the Relaxation, Hypnosis, Stress and Anxiety podcast.

So I had 2,119 downloads just today. It's like, wow, I think that's the most I've ever had in one day. So you know, I'm pleased, pleased with that.

I've also started to try and do a regular deep sleep whisper every day. Trying. I've also, I did an experiment and I actually added, I did a version with music in the background, which I've never done before.

But the good thing about that is people listening can choose, you know, they can listen to the 20 minute, 23 minute or 26 minute or whatever, version of the recording with me just talking. Or they can listen to the two hour version, where there's music in the background. And the music basically just continues after I've stopped talking.

For two hours. So, which is, I guess, quite nice to sort of lead or to continue the sleep in, maybe. I just like to offer choice.

Do you know what I mean? I like to, it's just like, here's the thing I'm doing to say, well, you know, try it this way if you want, you know, you might like this. Some people love, well, some people told me that they really like the relaxation hypnosis for stress recordings that have music. And some people say they prefer the ones that don't have music.

Some people tell me that they absolutely love the whisper recordings and the deep sleep whisper sends them to sleep really quickly. And other people have told me that they can't stand the whisper ones because I sound creepy, which is not probably the nicest thing that could have said. But, you know, we're all different, aren't we? We're all different.

We all like different things. And I know I can't be everything to everyone. I realize that.

But I'm giving it a damn good go. I'm trying to cater for people that like different things and I will continue to do that. And I temporarily took the adverts off the podcast because I had another complaint.

It was on YouTube. So I'm saying, no, they said it was actually quite a nice comment. Andre, why are you so noisy? Oh, yeah, OK, I can give you the go away.

Every time I go on Facebook, it tries to get me to sign up for that thing. YouTube studio. YouTube.

YouTube. OK, right. So that, you know, I don't get huge amounts of comments on YouTube because I don't get a huge amount of listens, really, or watches.

I get a few, I get some, I get about 1500 a month, something like that. And Freddy Rudu commented saying, I love listening to your podcasts when I go to sleep, but I can't stand those annoying ads. So I had to unsubscribe.

Please remove them. Your voice, your voice soothes me to sleep. So it's, it's really hard, you know, it's obviously it's hard to get sort of upset with someone that's also saying nice things at the same time.

However, the adverts are going to have to stay because I need them. I need them on there in order to pay off you know, I tell you what it is, I worked out the other day, how much stuff that I've bought and paid for and it's not, I've always kind of classed it as just being the monthly cost, you know, the website, podcast hosting. There's so much more to it as well.

There's the, the broadband. And okay, I use, I suppose I use the broadband for streaming, some TV, Netflix and stuff. But most of any internet stuff I do is connected with the work I do online, the, you know, the free service I offer.

Then so I don't really need broadband because I've, you know, I've got a phone, I could just watch stuff on the phone and transfer it to the TV. It'd be easy and it'd be cheaper. Also, I've got a creaky chair.

The equipment I use, the iPad, I don't need an iPad, if it wasn't for this, wasn't for the recording, the editing, the uploading the read all the stuff that I need to do is I had a did have a laptop that was on its way out, which is why I got the iPad. And it's going to take me four years to pay off. So I need to include that in the stuff I have to pay off.

I've got a phone so that I can use it and go online and use it when I'm doing recordings. Because the iPads being used at the same time, you know, so there's stuff like that. And then the shed, this chair, I'm moving around too much, the chairs very squeaky.

So what I might not do is actually do much in a way of editing this. Because of Ondo running around me squeaking the chair, it's probably going to be no point editing. Let me put him down the drink on the table.

Yes, it is the shed. And then there's the other tablet that I've been using over the last couple of years. For this stuff.

Now, I don't go online really for anything else. You know, it's making images working on the website. You know, me making, you know, doing the recordings, research.

And then let me have a look. I'm just gonna lean over. So I had the iPad, which I'm paying off.

I've got a keyboard for the iPad, which cost me £199. An Apple Pencil cost me £119. This shed cost me £224.99 plus £100 to get it put up.

Plus, and there was different things I paid for over the years that needs to be paid for. So I kind of looked at how much I pay down and how much has come in and it's thousands and thousands of pounds owed, really, that needs to be paid for. A lot of it I can just say, well, it's the past and it's done.

But you know, the things that I'm paying for now need to be paid for. But I've got things like the audio booth cost me £59.99. The software that I was doing, I was using for recording and for all different things like the Dragon Naturally software, £185. £85.

You've got quite a few books as well. Hypnosis books and psychotherapy books. Things that I use in my recordings, information that I use to provide this stuff.

This microphone stands, it's £20. I've got two of those. There's the Rode microphone, £142.95. So I've got two of them.

There's the Focusrite startlet thing, which is what connects the microphone to the iPad. That was £99. If I could read my own writing, that is.

And then stuff, again, not recent, but you know, a couple of years ago, I paid out for the Coral Video software. Abode Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop, all things that I used. And then going back even further, Logitech webcam.

This, Amazon would only let me go back a certain amount of time, which is a bit annoying because I wanted to really see how much I spent out. But then Logitech headsets, £32 for £49. Webcam was £60.

And then, you know, over the years, there's probably been about four laptops. The last one was £240. I got a Tascam digital recorder, like an audio recorder for £198.

That was about two years ago. I got a YouTube mic, which I used to use, which you connect. Because the iPhone, bless them, they've not put much effort into the microphone.

Everything else is really good, but the microphone, not so much. So this, I don't know who made it. Anyway, I've got this in a Kinect set, but it wasn't very good.

That was £44. I used it, but Magic Music software, £32. Then there's the Rode Video mic, £149.

Did you hear that? That was my tummy. There's another laptop here, £239.97. That was reconditioned. That's going back probably four years.

And then it's the soundproofing. So probably about £200 worth of soundproofing I purchased, as well as getting gifted it as well. So yeah, all this stuff adds up.

It really do. The iPad is going to cost me £1,716 once I paid it off. And the iPhone was £954 once it's paid off.

And that's without, oh man, I tell you, it didn't bother me. Well, it doesn't bother me now, but it didn't affect me when I was working. Because I just, when I was working, when I was in a, you know, an okay space, I say that because my very last job I had, I wasn't very well.

But all my spare time was spent on providing this free service. So I've been making recordings, mainly videos actually as well. And promotion and, you know, just website building and all that stuff.

So, you know, I was constantly had lots of different podcasts I paid for, use lots and lots of different, I've tried every, well, probably not every, but pretty much most of the website hosts I've used, or trialed. And also the podcasts themselves, podcast hosts. I've even had, there was even times where I, I had my laptop as a server, where I left my laptop on 24 hours a day, and people could download my MP3s directly from my laptop.

So yeah, I've done lots of different things. And I spent, yeah, even when I very first started doing, I mean, for me, this is, what I do now is an extension of what I was doing in 2006, which was the free pain relief service locally. It started, it started in 2004.

I had a website, helpwithpain.co.uk, I think it was at the time. I had no interest, I had interest, but there was no, didn't get really anything, any, you know, I was spending all my time promoting it and spending money on it. And I built the website by hand, you know, literally by code, did it all myself.

Because that's what I did back then. I always did it myself. But then, then I discovered website builders that you could do online.

I just chose that because it was easier. Plus, I've always had lots of recordings, you know, I've been, back then, you know, having 150 or 200 recordings was a lot. Now, I mean, I've lost count.

Genuinely, it's got to be over 2000 now, I reckon. And then in 2006, I thought I'm going to give it another boost and try and really get, get people to know about me. So I spent £800 on leaflets.

And, you know, sort of adverts in the paper, all kinds of stuff, in order to offer my free service. And then out of that came the, you know, doing the voluntary work in the re drug rehab centers, alcohol place and doing live sessions with people for, you know, relaxation and then making CDs and then making recordings, digital recordings available online. And it just, you know, sort of snowballed from there quite quickly as well.

But you know, on my website at the time, I think was freepainrelief.co.uk. But I also had jasonnewland.com as well. It's been there for years and years and years. So yeah, I've invested.

I tried to work it out once, but it's got to be £20,000 plus I've invested over the last 14, 15 years in providing this free service. And, you know, ultimately I did it because I wanted to. So it's not, no one's made me do it.

But I'm just not in a position to be able to take the financial strain that I used to be able to, you know, when I was working. And I do get help. I do get PayPal gifts and stuff, but it doesn't cover the monthly costs.

But I'm grateful for anyone that helps. But, oh, my tummy's really making some gurgly noises. I'll tell you why I'm pleased with myself.

Three reasons. Three reasons. I, what did I do? Well, actually, I cooked a meal for myself.

Not just any meal. I cooked, well, I steamed a meal of fresh, fresh, fresh, fresh, fresh vegetables and some other stuff and healthy, healthy, no processed food at all. So I'm kind of pleased with myself with that because I haven't, I haven't done it in a long time, especially not healthy.

You know, even when I cook for myself, it's normally, it might be like boiled potatoes, you know, or mashed potatoes and beans and then perhaps something out of the freezer, like put in the oven. Well, today it was all fresh. And yes, I was pleased with that.

Because that's, that's why I bought the food to start with. I'm on a health diet, really. Because for me, it's not about losing weight, it's about losing fat, about reducing my fat, and in the process, maybe increasing muscle.

You know, I don't know how much I weigh now, but in March, I think was the last time I weighed myself and I was about 100 kilos, which isn't really that very, isn't very heavy. So I could be, what is 100 kilos? Let me work it out. 100.

100 K. No, it's not. Kilos. Convert 100 kilograms to pounds.

Okay. 100 kilos equals 220.4 pounds. So stone, in stone, it's 15.7 stone.

So even if I didn't lose weight, just want to reduce the fat. That's not too much to ask, is it? No. No.

So that should be, that's what I'm going to do, actually, because I've got an abdominal board here for sit ups. I have, I have dumbbell weights, I've got a punch bag. So you know, I've got stuff that I can use for exercising.

I could go running. There's a park across the road, I could run around the park. So there's things I can do to get some exercise.

And yeah, so I felt quite good about that. Also, having taken the ads off of my podcasts, I put them back on. And I felt quite good about that decision.

And well, just as I started this recording, I felt good looking at the stats saying I'd got 6000 or whatever downloads today. But the other thing is, was a couple of things. I was doing it kind of all at the same time.

And I cleaned the carpet in my bedroom with my carpet cleaning machine. So there's a couple of things I'm pleased about. First of all, I'm pleased at how careful I'm being with the machine, because I broke the last one.

And it's 140 pound, you know, this, we have to be paying off. I don't want to lose, I don't want to lose. I don't want to, I can't buy another one.

But I think I kind of broke the other one accidentally. So I've been really careful and I'm figuring out, and this is a different one to the other one. I think this is better than the one I got before.

And it's, I figured how to correct the issue. So if it, if it gets caught on carpet strands, it pulls up and it gets clogged. But I now know how to unclog it.

Just means getting my fingers dirty, which is fine. So I, I cleaned the carpet near the front door on, there's still work to do. I still got to do some more stuff.

Basically what I'm going to be doing is every week, I'm going to go over each part of the carpet where, you know, his papers laid down and just do that part of the carpet every week. And just as a, you know, just so it'd be easy to sort of keep it clean. Can't do it every day.

The machine's really loud, like really loud, but it's okay. I don't mind. I did, I did it in the, I didn't just do that though.

I tidied the bedroom and the room just looks bigger now. Even though there's a garden shed in there and a double bed. There's a lot, a lot of space on the floor now.

So, you know, I feel quite good and it looks much nicer. So that's cool. I was glad I did that.

Also, I cleaned part of the kitchen, the counter of the kitchen, which is the part near the sink. It was very cluttered and I had stuff on there that I didn't need. So I cleared it all off and I scrubbed it down.

Like it's really clean, proper disinfected and everything. And I put the toaster in the cupboard because my aim is to not eat any bread. That's part of my diet.

So I've got the kettle, I've moved that to the other side of the counter so it's out of the way. And I only have, you know, I have one cup of coffee with my breakfast and that's it. And I'm going to continue that because I like it.

I think it's just a nice way to start the day really. Especially if it's like muesli, I love my muesli. Cup of coffee, and my muesli.

Oh yeah. And then I got my steamer, it was already out, but I put it all together. Originally I had it on the counter and I had some food on there that was cooking, being steamed, but it was the steam was going all over the cupboard above it.

And then I thought, so what I did is I moved the steamer onto the hob, the top of the cooker. Now the cooker's turned off and I don't see any reason to have that cooker on at all. Anytime soon.

Because my intention is to steam everything from now on. Until, you know, until I'm, okay, it's not about weight, it's about shape. Until I turn these boobies into muscle.

Yes, that's it. So I'm gonna I just quite like it. It's nice to see the kitchen.

There's a lot of work to do. Well, not a lot of work, but there's a fair bit of sort of tidying up and to make the kitchen look better. But that part of the kitchen looked really, well it looks really tidy.

And it makes the kitchen look bigger as well. To actually have counter space where there's nothing, it's not all just like full of stuff. I mean, there's been times when I've had cases of baked beans and all kinds of stuff just piled up in the kitchen, you know, stockpiled really.

But I don't, I haven't got that anymore. The cupboards are all full of stuff. I'm thinking of putting the microwave in storage, just to put it into the cupboard, maybe the one in the bathroom.

Because I'm not sure what I need the microwave for at the moment. I'm not saying forever, just at the moment, put in the cupboard. So I've got more space, more desktop space or whatever you want to call it, kitchen counter space.

It just looks nicer when it's a bit empty. But really other than, you know, heating up some baked beans, I haven't got a lot of use for the microwave. And as I can do eggs in the, I can do eggs in the steamer.

I don't even need to use a microwave. Although eggs in a microwave, I never really, didn't quite do it for me. They're a bit like eww.

So yes, that is my plan. So I felt quite good about it. I felt quite good that I'd got something done.

Now tomorrow, I'd like to do some of the carpet in the living room. However, I'm not sure if I'll bother. I mean, it does need to be done.

But the worst parts are done, if you know what I mean. And I probably will do it tomorrow. I'll do, yeah, I probably will.

Might as well just get it done. But a lot of the stuff in the living room is that's on the floor, is Andre's. He plays with it, his carrier bags, he sleeps in this stuff that he uses with his girlfriend.

So I don't really want to touch his stuff, because it is where he wants it to be. And he absolutely hates the clean carpet. Won't go near it.

He hasn't, he hasn't gone, although, what did I do? I, wait a minute. Did I clean some of the carpet? I don't know. I put, yeah, I put paper down at the front door.

Yeah, I cleaned, I think I cleaned a little bit of the front door. No, that doesn't make sense. Oh, I can't remember.

Anyway, he didn't want to go anywhere near the clean part. He actually went on the carpet, like, it was all his paper and he just completely avoided the paper, which isn't like him. He's normally quite good.

So, and you might think, well, why haven't you trained him to do it in a tray, like a cat or a dog? He's, I tried, I really tried on that. You know, if I, if he would climb or go into a, like a cat litter box, I would have three. Well, I would happily put one in each corner of every room if I thought he'd use them.

But he wouldn't. It's just the way it is. A bit annoying, really.

But so my plan is to keep my carpets really nice, nice and clean from now onwards until I can get enough money to buy, you know, some new carpet. That's, it might happen next year. I don't know.

But it's, I mean, there's a probably, there's a chance I might be able to sort of pay a deposit and, you know, pay the rest off over a year or so. I don't know. It might be worth going in and finding out.

I'll just go back to the same place that did the carpet here. But this time I want a really nice carpet, proper thick, and the most, the best soundproofing carpet that I can get. That's what I want.

That's what I really, really, really want. I want it, I want it, I want it. So, yeah, I felt quite good that I'd done that.

And also, also, yeah, I went to the garage. But my lower back, man, all this exercise, all movement, really like, oh, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. So, I kind of think it's got to be good for me on some level.

You know, some exercise has to be some positivity connected to physical movement. I don't know. So, yeah, it was an okay day.

Felt almost like I'd accomplished a few things. Not exciting things, but something, you know, something was done. And I quite like, quite like that.

Felt quite nice. Yeah. My stomach.

So, I'm not sure if that's my stomach or Andre. I think it was me. It's not really the time to make any loud noises, is it? No, it's not.

You know what I did yesterday, but I didn't release it. I added background music to my Let Me Fall Into Sleep recording from yesterday. And then I thought, no, because I don't know if anyone would want to listen to this with music in the background.

I don't know. Again, it's offering people more choice. And I like that.

And I've already said that a few times, but I do. I really do. Yeah.

I'll tell you something. When I was listening back to my Deep Sleep Whisper recording, I was editing it. I was just listening back to it.

And I nearly fell asleep. Continuously nearly fell asleep. It was really hard to listen to when I'm drifting off.

I don't know why. You know, it got to me that way, but I just, I was drifting off to sleep while I was listening to it. And it was just really hard.

It was like, wow. God, this man's really good at what he does. He's really boring.

Proper boring. Do you know what I was thinking of doing is I was making a podcast or maybe doing some episodes on this podcast, on the Let Me Put You To Sleep one, where I am really, really, really boring on a level that, you know, you'd need to. I nearly fell asleep there.

On where, I forgot what I was saying. I drifted off. I think having my eyes closed is not, you know, having my eyes closed, I think, does make me feel more tired.

That's what I was trying to say. I have made recordings in the past where I have fallen asleep. And I've listened back because I know there was a period when I hardly did any editing.

It was a case of just recording, uploading. And my thinking was, well, it's live. So I wanted it to be live.

I wanted it to come across as being a live recording, including all the gaps, being exactly the same length between the words to how it is when I record it. That's always kind of been my part of my process, I guess. Yeah, man, it's like, it's part of my process.

That's my truth. Yeah, I do. I do have a sense that there's an advantage to listening to my recordings over listening to a CD or, you know, a paid download from maybe a famous hypnotist.

If you give me enough time, I'll think of a reason why. No, I think it's because if you get it from a famous hypnotist that's maybe been on television or something like that, they're going to present themselves. I lost track there.

No, it's going to be very, very professional. But a degree of a little bit sterile. It's recording in a recording studio and it's edited and it's like, you know, I edit my recordings, but it's a different, it doesn't feel as free as how I do it.

But I might, you know, I might not be right. You know, Bob, it's an opinion, isn't it really? You can never be wrong if you stick to lies. If you don't back down, you can never lose.

No, I don't know. It's, I mean, I had someone say, you know, let's make some recordings. And she was going to rent a recording studio out, get me in there and she was going to get the artwork done for the CDs and all that stuff.

But then that would have involved me going into a recording studio, which I have done in the past. And it's, it's strange because this is really a case of getting on with it, doing the recording, because, you know, the big part of it is getting edited by the person, I don't know, the engineer, the audio engineer. I think they said the heating engineer, the hearing engineer.

So it does, it listens, listens. I'm just not making sense anymore. I'm drifting off, really, really drifting off.

I'm talking about heating engineering. Yeah, I suppose I'll bring this recording to an end before I fall asleep. Yeah, so thank you for listening.

Remember to be kind to yourself, because you deserve to be happy. Maybe do something nice for yourself.

Paragraph spacing and recurring name or title errors have been tidied. Because this began as a voice transcription, an occasional word or piece of punctuation may still be incorrect.
