Stephanie MacLennan - Berkshire Hypnotherapist
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist - Hypnotherapist - EMDR practitioner.
I have been in full-time practice for many years, helping people of all ages. I see the self-belief and confidence that we have within us as the resources to resolve anxiety, stress, depression, fears and phobias, habits (smoking, drinking, nail biting and so on), other issues (eating, weight, public speaking) and so on. I can help you to recognise your resources and abilities and then develop the confidence in using those abilities. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Hypnotherapist (CBH). CBT is a psychotherapeutic philosophy which deals with both cause and symptoms, and advocates a philosophy of healthy living. In addition, I am an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner. EMDR is described as "the breakthrough therapy in overcoming anxiety, stress and trauma".
I have tutored and supervised for the LCCH Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy diploma course..

What others have said:

"Just a quick email to let you know I did brilliantly at my daughter's
wedding on Saturday. I received so many compliments from friends and guests afterwards saying how confident I was and the speech was
excellent. One of the organisers at the venue said she had heard
loads of speeches in her time but mine was one of the best!!
I even made my daughter cry and she NEVER crys!! My husband said I
was fantastic - and the best.
I had great fun doing it, achieved what I wanted, and still have the
Thank you so much and I will be in touch again soon about possibly
coming to see you with some more help with something else."
" I just wanted to say a huge thank you for helping me sort my head out! I feel like a huge weight has stopped following me around and I can think about things in a much clearer way.
I've felt very much at ease talking to you which I haven't experienced before in counselling. You have made my therapy a lot easier by explaining why I felt in a certain way....."
"I don't feel I can part company without saying a few words to thank you for everything you have done for me. I have throughly enjoyed my therapy sessions with you, and believe you have helped me enormously to lead a happier, more content life.
Prior to seeking help, I felt very lost and isolated in so many ways. Nothing made much sense any more and I was forever doubting myself and just making my life miserable. But I know this is all the past now. I am at peace with myself and subsequently a better wife and mother.
Not only have you guided me through a tough period in my life, you have fascinated me with your professional insight and made me laugh on many occasions. I truly believe you are a special person with a gift.
Stephanie, thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. I will be forever grateful and I look forward to leading my new life. You are a credit to your profession.
With fondest regards"
" I realised, the only way for me to move forward, was to deal with the events in my life that were haunting me. After a lot of support from Stephanie and hard work on my part, I feel I am finally there. I have to say I was a little sceptical about hypnosis, but that was only ignorance on my part. I can honestly say CBT, CBH and EMDR does work and I have left my baggage behind me. Thank you Stephanie for being such a good listener and helping me to change my life."
"I've been meaning to write to you for some time to thank you for your help with my daughter. She is a different girl. The change in her self-esteem was immediately evident. She likes herself and her life a whole lot more than before she had some sessions with you. She is much more positive and often tells me so. Quite a transformation, and I just wish we had come to you sooner.
Also, she is working much harder at school....for the past month she has worked ever so hard without any prompting from me. So well done and thank you for your help."
You will be pleased to know how successful you were in helping me to overcome my obsession and get back to my normal state of mind. I am most grateful and appreciative.
I have waited a month since I came off the Citalopran anti-depressant to be sure I was fine....
I recently started to become emotional when asked to describe the past - but soon took charge, and can say it's all under control and in its proper place.
We have been pleased our daughter took up the opportunity to seek your help. She sings your praises as a dedicated professional -as I do.
Alcohol - excessive drinking
"Have done three months of no alcohol! No slipping...feel so much better. Your treatment does work! Thank you so much."
"The session we had was amazing and I haven't had a cigarette since! Only had the occasional glass of wine under duress but always manage to bin it somehow and get back to the water! .....Thanks so much. I now have a lovely boyfriend who looks like he's going to stick around for a while. If I had continued to smoke he had made it very clear that I was toast/history/vamoosh!! Family and clients also all delighted...I don't miss it and I have not put on weight...Have actually lost some as I have more energy to run about and bounce with ...! Many thanx"
