Ian L Sharp - Bristol Hypnotherapist
Ian L Sharp
Approximately 20 years ago my life was falling apart due to a relationship breakdown. We had been to Relate (marriage guidance counselling), spoken to friends and family but nothing changed... we were stuck. Then in a training session at work, a hypnotherapist came to give a talk, he happened to be filling in by the way. I was impressed and being in the situation I was, I felt I had nothing to lose and booked an appointment. Yes, the usual thoughts of loss of control went through my mind but I was prepared to take the chance.
It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The effects were subtle but profound. The day after the first session, I realised I had more energy than I had had for a long time. Slowly, I saw myself becoming just that little bit more decisive, a touch more confident perhaps. You could say that I had found my centre, the part that allowed me to be happy with myself again.
The rest is history as they say. Fast forward 20 years, we have now been happily married for 18 years, have 2 teenagers and a dog. Life continues to be good and I use hypnotherapy on myself everyday to help me keep it that way. The sensation of being able to relax so deeply for just a few minutes each day leaves me feeling calm and able to make good decisions about my life and those I care for ... consistently.
This is my story. Hypnotherapy and specifically, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be used in as many ways as there are people. In my practice I have successfully treated alcoholics, smokers, IBS, general anxiety, sleeplessness, fear of driving, fear of flying, fear of dogs, fear of losing keys, exam nerves ... The potential to bring about personal change is incredible.
Why not give it a go?
