Elizabeth Tailby-Faulkes - Buckinghamshire Hypnotherapist
Feeling overwhelmed... stressed...anxious or depressed? Suffering from panic attacks, an addiction or an unwanted habit or phobia? Or simply wanting a confidence boost to get the most out of your life and need a helping hand?
My name is Elizabeth TaiIby-Faulkes and I am a qualified psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and counsellor working from my rural practice near Quainton in Buckinghamshire. I predominantly practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which is a highly successful form of therapy concentrating on achieving the changes and results you wish for without a need for analysing past events and behaviours. It can bring about positive changes quickly and easily and allow you to realise your potential and enjoy life to the full. If appropriate to the client's situation, I also draw on elements of other therapies such as counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and transactional analysis (TA) in order to maximise the benefit of each therapy session.
Training, qualifications & experience
I spent my early career working in the City of London, in a high-powered stressful environment, latterly within the Human Resource management sector where I obtained the necessary qualifications at the University of Westminster. It was during this time that I became increasingly interested in psychotherapy and in particular the use of hypnosis. I undertook a three year training course at St.Charles Hospital In London at The UK Training College of Hypnotherapy and Counselling in the early 1990s and graduated from The UK College for Complementary Health Care Studies in 1995. After practising in London, I then moved to Buckinghamshire to start a family. As my children became more independant, I decided to resurrect my therapy practice and underwent further training in Oxford with the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training to graduate with a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
As well as having worked in extremely busy and highly charged environments and having raised four children, I have extensive first hand experience in dealing with stress and emotional upheaval, bereavement and ill health. I believe these challenges all enable me to have an appreciation and understanding of some of the issues facing my clients and to demonstrate an empathy towards those suffering in a unique way.
My varied career enables me to understand the many pressures of working within a busy and often testing environment often whilst commuting and all whilst endeavouring to maintain a good quality of family life. At the same time, I am able to support the needs of each client by drawing on the training I have gained in different areas as appropriate to their individual needs.
I have four children, three of whom are teenagers and I therefore also well understand the stresses and strains of raising a family! However I am very conscious of the increasing pressures now facing our young people and the inevitable anxiety and tension that these can bring. With the help of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, teenagers are generally better able to handle these difficulties and overcome many of the issues they may face.
I carry an enhanced DBS certificate enabling me to work with children and vulnerable adults.
I also carry Malpractice and Professional Liability with a limit of £5,000,000.

Hypnotherapy is a very valuable therapeutic tool and is completely natural and safe with no harmful side effects. It should never be confused with stage hypnosis which is used purely for entertainment purposes.
Hypnotherapy utilises our natural ability to enter trance - think of when we 'switch off' listening to music, daydreaming, driving along a well known road...these are all occasions when we go into a trance which is merely an altered state of awareness.
A trance is simply a state of relaxation and will be experienced as such, afterwards leaving you feeling calm, refreshed and relaxed. Furthermore, when a deep state of relaxation is achieved, it is possible to bypass the conscious critical mind and access the unconscious mind where we store all our habits, emotions. memories and patterns of behaviour and with positive therapeutic suggestion, we are able to implement desired changes.
