My name is Amanda Hudson and I am a qualified Hypnotherapist and CBT/REBT therapy.
I have a therapy rooms in Aylesbury, Amersham and Bicester. I offer a mixture of hypnotherapy, behaviour therapy and mindfulness, that is individually tailored to help you with any problems you are experiencing.
Hypnotherapy and mindfulness can achieve healthy, positive changes quicker than standard counselling, and Rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) helps you to understand the way you are thinking. Combined, these techniques allow you to start living life to the full sooner. It Is my aim to empower clients to have confidence in themselves, and to make permanent changes in their lives for the better. We will do this by working together to build the correct tools that will help you through your current and future challenges without slipping back into old negative patterns.
I also include elements of other therapies such as standard cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to get maximum results. I currently work as a hypnotherapist for the Hummingbird Centre in Bicester, which is a drop in centre for those who are affected by cancer.
I am also an Anxiety UK approved therapist, and provide cost effective Hypnotherapy sessions through the charity. Previously, I have run mindfulness groups at Aylesbury youth offenders prison.
I am a Professional Member of the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS) and fully insured.

Long ongoing treatment prices can be discussed at the initial consultation.

A free initial phone consultation is included in all prices.
Evening and weekend sessions available.
Home visits may incur additional charges, dependent on location, and will be agreed up-front.
Payment is accepted by cash, cheque or bank transfer and will be requested up front prior to each session.
Please note that 48 hours notice must be given for cancellations. Missed appointments will be charged for at the full rate.

Can I be hypnotised?
Yes - if you want to be! Some clients with trust and control issues may find this more difficult. However, we will work together to build a trusting relationship to allow you to relax.
Will I still be in control?
Yes - and no I won't make you cluck like a chicken! People who do strange things during stage hypnosis do so because they want to, and are picked for this exact reason. Hypnotherapy is a natural state of relaxation, where you will remain conscious and in control. You will resist suggestions you don't agree with or feel uncomfortable about. However, topics of suggestion will be agreed on before we start a session.
Is hypnosis an altered state of consciousness?
No, it is usually a state of deep relaxation similar to meditation.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No, you will be awakened during a session, and would eventually come out of it in other settings. We all experience trance-like states though our everyday life. Have you ever been driving a regular route and not remembered even getting to your destination? Have you ever read the same line in a book over and over and not taken it in? These are examples of hypnosis that are completely natural and happen to everyone.
